Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: The Best vacation EVER

Can't say enough about this resort. Excellent service, beautiful beach and the property is immaculate. We ended up upgrading our room to ocean view and it was so worth it - definitely recommend it. Excellent house keeping, private butler and bellboy were always available and they make sure your stay is nice and smooth. Food is excellent given it is Cuba. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Nice resort

The employees make this place great. Everyone was kind and quick to get us anything we needed(we tipped at pretty much every interaction) not sure if that had anything to do with it. The hotel is kept well but the pool is shallow and pretty dead in the day probably because of the amazing beach a few feet away. Food was tasty but lacked variety at the buffet. The only reason I would hesitate to go back to this resort would be the lack  [... read more]of a/c not sure if it was broken or just super low but we were sweating at every meal not very comfortable or relaxing. Also there isn’t much to do at night no casino, no sports/karaoke bar. There was a jazz bar but only had a pianist one of the nights otherwise it was silent not even playing music over the speakers. But all in all the drinks were strong, food was good and beach was beautiful we were not disappointed.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Quiet and relaxing

It was our honeymoon, people were amazing top service. 2 servers one older at the bar in lobby not too friendly even though $5tip here and there from us didn’t change his behaviour. Quiet place not for parties. Make sure you see Antonio for cart service. Plan him Le Taxi song and he will give you the ride if you like fun.

Carisol los Corales: Carisol Los Coralis has changed!

The room was very good. There was always hot water available for showers. But the buffet was small. There was a snack bar previously where I could get a pizza in the afternoon. This did not exist anymore. For lunch, spaghetti and pizza had always been available in a separate lunch area. This was no more. My security box took 5 days to fix. The internet was non-existent for the first 8 days. The pool was not cleaned every day. Some days the pool was very dirty. But the weather was excellent! An [... read more]d most of the hotel workers are really excellent. The taxi ride from the airport was long...3 hours and more, especially because of the terrible road conditions. There used to be bicycles available for visitors but no more. But with all the negative issues, I will still return to this hotel even though similar hotels in the Holguin area are better and more reasonable.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not a 5* hotel

We just came back, the hotel itself is ok but very dated - definitely need an update. Toilets in a main lobby are broken and didnt look like they will be repaired any time soon. staff ok - some better some worse but very, very slow.. Lots of them look like they cannot be bothered.. no issues with food but due to shortages there is lack of vegetables and fruit (but obviously thats not a hotel fault) Avoid this hotel if you dislike Russians as this hotel was full of them!! they are rude, arro [... read more]gant, they behave like they own the place! I was shocked to see so many of them! The only good thing is their sense of clothing because thats very, very laughable

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Decent resort

The resort is decent for the price. Service at times in the Sanctuary restaurant was extremely slow. Over an hour to get food. Typically Cuban food. Room was good. Had a couple small issues which were taken care fairly quickly. Beach is great but unfortunately there were times where children were on the adults only loungers and people from the grand memories side. Beach is loud during certain parts of the day with music coming from grand memories beach and the resort next to it. We didn’t go into the pool but the music there is extremely loud as well. Have to walk by the speaker to get to the restaurant. No need for all this bass and people trying to relax. Overall a decent place as long as the price was right. We spend to weeks there and would probably go back at a different time than late June as long as the price is right

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

Every single person we have encountered was beyond nice and helpful. From beach staff to lobby staff to room staff. Beach is beautiful. Food wasn’t bad compared to during covid. The grounds are kept clean. The infinity pool is really cool and an added bonus to the lobby.

Muthu Playa Varadero: A Great Cuban Vacation

We spent a week at Muthu Playa July 3 to 10th. This was our first visit in Cuba, we are an older couple from Eastern Europe. We don't speak English or Spanish, but we did not have any problem with communication as everyone was patient and very helpful. Keep in mind, that you are visiting Cuba, so we aligned our expectations accordingly. Hotel: It is on a prefect location in Varadero. Close to the beach, close to the city, dolphinariums, etc. It looks better than the pictures on Tripadvisor [... read more]. However, outdated, some reno could do the magic, but everything perfectly in working conditions, a/c worked perfectly. Lobby, and rooms were very clean. Elevators, (outside glass panorama and inside ones the buildings) are working so no issue being on the top level. Actually, we preferred it as the view was beautiful from the room, was not blocked by buildings or trees. Beds were very comfortable, very clean and aways neatly done. Pillows were also comfortable. We had no issue to sleep. Bathroom also was very clean, toilet paper and clean, fresh towels were provided daily. Room had hairdryer, iron, mini fridge where bottled water was provided daily. Internet: we had access, but it was slow and we had to keep reconnecting. Ground: hotel ground was beautiful, well maintained, clean. Beach: most amazing beach. Beautiful white sands, crystal clear water. Water was shallow about 20 or so meters before starts to get deep. Hence it would be perfect for families with small children. The ocean, was amazing no matter what time of the day. During our visit there were no crowd. We always had beach bed available. Food: no shortage (we were surprised, as based on our research we expected minimal food), lots of variety of food, even if some of it was not for our taste, we never were hungry. Sure everyone can find something to eat. Excursion: we paid for a day trip to visit Havana. We would like to say a big thank you for Ivonne (Westjet), who helped us to book the trip and made sure we looked after (due to language barriers). Hotel Staff: Everyone, starting from reception, life guard, cleaning lady, barista is very polite, helpful and friendly. Especially we would like to mention, Jenyu, who kept our room neat and clean all the time and made sure we have everything what we need. Also, Osmedi who was the barista at the playa, made sure we taste all the Cuban specialties, cocktails. And a BIG thank you for Geovanis (life guard) who made our stay very memorable.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: First time to Cuba

My first trip to Varadero Cuba was excellent. Hotel staffs were nice and friendly. On my first day I had some problems with sink. It was leaking from the bottom. I called the front desk and they sent the technician immediately. But they couldnt fix it. Then they moved us to another room. Room was big and clean. AC, kettle, hot water, wifi were working fine. Some restaurants were closed for renovations. Food and drink were great. However there were too many mosquitoes and flies (almost everywhere [... read more] in the resort). Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Vacation Resort!

We had an amazing 1 week vacation end of June/23. We love Cuba and especially the people and have visited many locations many times. This trip we went back to 'Caribe' again mainly because of price. I have to say that our party of 6 adults were totally impressed and had an amazing time. Staff throughout resort were all very efficient and caring of their guests. Those restaurants are all renovated and spotless. After dinner drinks in the Piano Lounge were a must as entertainment is great. The staff here provide excellent service in this busy spot. The resort runs exceptionally well under the excellent direction from IAGO the new General Manager. You will see him everywhere and at all times of the day. We spoke with him and learned of his plans to continue improvements to this resort. So... the beach and ocean, are just simply to die for. Clean calm waters full of fish, great for all levels of snorkeling. Soft sand ànd lots of shade. Beach bar is super fun and beach pizza is a must. Please, speak to these terrific staff and tip well, ( yes you can use loonies and toonies and bills). We went for the good price, but we'll return because of the Memories of outstanding service and amazing atmosphere!! Thank you to all.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Resort but lacking in some major areas

Very clean, nice grounds well kept, servce in restaurants could be improved, staff could be more attentive from providing beverages to picking up plates. Lacking napkins on tables at buffet, overall food quality low. Could improve on pillows. Entertainment quality lacking in evenings or non existent.Different bands at buffet and restaurants were appreciated. Internet service was disruptive as one walks the grounds or stays inactive promoting guest to keep re entering login info which was annoyin [... read more]g. Close to airport which made things convenient...upon arrival greeted with mosquito invasion ensure you have your mosquito spray handy before leaving the plane!!!

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing

So i went with zero expectations and I was very much surprised. The resort is huge. The pool is huge. There are two of them and both are amazing pools. There is more than enough chairs to sit at. The beach although is small and shares with another resort, its still beautiful and lots of seats. There is a snack bar at the beach area as well as the pool area. Both areas serve drinks. There are 4 a la carte restaurants but one was closed to due maintenance. We got to try all three and the Romantico was my fav as the food was good. The other two were ok. Ive read about people saying food is bland and so on but think of what they have available. We always found food to eat and tried everything. Took small portions almost teaspoon amount so as not to waste if we didnt like it. Some dishes were not to my taste which is ok but others were delicious. Their fish was amazing. They had a variety of salads, vegetables to make your own salad, fruits, breads etc. They even had themed nights so that was good too. The servers are friendly and after two days they even know what u would have to drink for breakfast. The only setback i had was the language barrier as the chefs behind the stir fry etc were not well versed in english so it was hard to get my selection across but after a few days that too was solved. I honestly have nothing bad to say. It was amazing. The spa was good too. I enjoyed a foot massage twice. We even took a tour to Havana which was amazing. The drinks were slightly watered down but honestly it was so hot that id rather have water than drinks anyway. Basically, go with zero expectations and that way anything above and beyond that will amaze you.

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort with friendly staff

Good dining options however if you like things a bit more spicy bring some pepper sauce with you. The staff is accommodating however not very fluent in English so brush up on your Spanish. Extremely clean environment and kid friendly. Do not forget your swim ware.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: A super resort to remember

This resort had everything I expected. The ocean OMG the best. Pool was also great. Workers super friendly and the food was delicious. Easy to move around and location fantastic. Price was right. Going back soon.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: VERY GOOD RESORT FOR THE VALUE WE PAID

HOTEL IS VERY GOOD BUT RS WERE LITTLE UNACEPTABE TOO MUCH OF MOSQUITO IN SIDE THE ROOMS. POOL WERE VRY CLEAN .BEACH WAS AMAZING.NOT ENOUGH ENTERTAINMENT.BARS WERE VERY GOOD FOOD WAS GOOD NO SHORTAGE ANYMORE .AT LAST WE HAD GREAT TRIP AT GRAND MEMORIES SANTA MARIA.

Paradisus Varadero: 4 night stay at Paradisus Varadero

Pros: Paradisus Varadero has scenic beauty, with bright white sands and aqua blue water. The beach was top notch. There was a decent amount of food available in the main buffet. Staff were courteous. Cons: The biggest issue with this resort is a continuous problem with the airconditioner, where only the lowest setting was operational. It was very low, not enough to cool the room, and with 42°C outside, it was very uncomfortable, especially for my toddler. I had made several complaints, even [... read more] offered hefty tips, but nothing was done to fix the problem. There were no fans anywhere on the property.The quality of food was also very poor, not tasty, lacked flavour. Some of the food items were mislabeled (e.g., label said "white rice" but it contained pork). There weren't adequate safety railings next to walkways by pools, nor were there ramps for strollers or disabled people. Many of the staff did not speak a word of English. The phone in the room was not working, and nothing was done to fix or replace it after multiple complaints. Rooms were outdated.

Sol Caribe Beach: Amazing Experience

I was very appreciative about going to Cuba as you hear horror stories about food. Sol Caribe was fabulous. Smaller newly renovated resort. Food was great! Service was great! Everyone very friendly. Beach and ocean was the highlight.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort.

Clean charming, beautiful view and amazing maid. The airport Toronto lost my luggage but I didn't stress much. Every one at Resort where kind and helpful. I want to thank Barbara, Alex and my wonderful maid.
