Occidental Caribe: Don't go Here!

We stayed here as a couple in January , it a Beautiful location, with clean pools & grounds, everything else contributed to a horrible vacation Overall Dirty & completely unorganized Buffet Restaurant, all guests at this large resort are herded into the one buffet, food is inconsistent & of poor quality There is a total lack of leadership, Servers were all overworked & unable to provide service couldn't even get a coffee or cutlery on some days the crowds were overwhelming A la carte restau [... read more]rants have lovely servers but still, food was really awful No beach chairs, most are broken & dirty we had to find 2 chairs at 6am every morning to secure a beach chair there is no pool or beach beverage service, we had no pool towels for first 3 days despite multiple attempts Luckily we brought our own towels AC in room would not work, & mould in our entire shower stall, our housecleaner tried to remove it with bleach but to no avail Room had a great view overlooking SEA & pool, our room was cleaned daily. The bed was awful, pillows old & lumpy Entertainment team were decent as were a few of the shows that start at 10 Everyone here smokes cant get away Overall a 2 at best

Punta Cana Princess: Pleasantly surprised with this Gem of a resort.

Punta Cana Princess resort was extremely clean and the grounds were very well kept. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. This resort was just a perfect size, and adults only, which made it that much more enjoyable and relaxing. Our friends had a few minor issues with the patio door and sink plumbing in their room, but they were quickly taken care of by the maintenance personnel.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort ! clean and new

Nothing bad to say about this resort only issue was with Sunwing, we only found out the day before leaving that we needed to pay an additional 20$ US per person prior to leaving. It seems like only Sunwing does this, 4.5 hour flight with 3 kids no screens in plane and no internet all this information would of been great to know !

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Great value for the money

The Lifestyle Tropical resort is a beautiful well maintained property ...consisting of 2 large hotels and other accomodations Room are large...excellent houskeeping..staff are great and friendly Very high security to enter property Food is very good from the buffet to al carte restaurants..nightly entertainment Family friendly .good place to stay for a vacation

I was put off by some reviews, you do have to cross a road to get to the beach and main buffet- it’s not a busy road and I felt very safe. All the workers were so accommodating and extremely friendly. If you are looking for a party- this is not the resort for you. It’s quaint, personable and quiet quiet. The tour people were quite annoying but when you tell them no for the 100th time they do stop asking by day 6- the beach vendors are respectful as well. The restaurants were great, buffets were not great as the selection was extremely limited but we didn’t starve.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great Vacation

Awesome resort. Will definitely visit again. Loved the pools. Lots of room Really enjoyed the adults only Aquamarine location. Food could have had enter gluten free options. Loved my vacation there.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Loved our visit!

Our first time at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana, but we met many people who were returning for their 2nd, 5th or 8th time!!! The resort is immaculate. Our room was spacious and the King size bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the rain shower with the back massage. :-) Need one at home now. The staff were all amazing! They made everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. The restaurants were good. Our favorites were the Sea n Sea , great Surf and Turf. Wish we tried it earlier in the week so we could go back a second time. The buffet had a great variety of dishes to choose at Breakfast and Dinner. The Italian, great atmosphere and really enjoyed our appetizers. We really enjoyed our Sunwing Excursion with Bavaro Runners Safari. Carlos and the driver gave us an excellent tour of Punta Cana, We visited a tobacco farm, and enjoyed lots of tasting after the cigar demos. We tried Pineapple wine, Mamajuana, and cigars if you chose. At Maria's house, we visited her amazing property tried her coffee, chocolate etc and had a delicious lunch. Lots of opportunity to buy her organic cocoa, honey, vanilla and more. We were picked up from our hotel at 7:30 am and back at 3:30. Perfect day. Great experience.

Occidental Caribe: This resort is lacking in a lot of areas

Long waits for check ins and no beverage offered while waiting. Rooms were bad broken tile trim left on floor.Glass shower never cleaned with soap scum and water spots on it. T.V. didn't work at all. Safe never worked. Called down to get someone to fix it but they never showed up. Toilet didn't flush. Had to find maid to pour stuff down it everything. We went two days without towels and was never any face cloths. Had to use our beach towel. The blow dryer didn't work. Room card kept deactiv [... read more]ated had to go to front desk and wait every time. The buffet food was cold and hard to find a table. The waiters wouldn't ask you for drinks and there was never any spoons on table and if you asked you might get a plastic one. On the good side the grounds are well maintained and the beach is nice.i don't usually make reviews cause I am not fussy but had to make an exception for this resort. Everyone we talked to said the same. Really would not recommend this resort 😕

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Enjoyable time

Dreams Royal Beach is a good resort all around, with a well kept grounds and nice layout, most beautiful at night. Resort was at capacity, but it never felt crowded. Our room was regular, but was big enough and everything was working well, with a daily stock of beer and drinks. Checking in was quick, as well as the checking out. Service at buffet was always good and we never had to wait for being seated. Food had a good selection and the space was clean and pleasant. Service at bars was also qui [... read more]ck and with a smile. Entertainment was a bit of a let down, but being a non adults only resort it may be understood. COVID times may be behind us, but the sanitizer stations are present everywhere for peace of mind. Beach is wide and has plenty of lounge chairs and never had to fight for getting one at any time. Towels were not in shortage or worn out. Seaweed is a constant problem they fight by raking it with a tractor every couple of hours or so.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

Everything great except they do not accept Cnd. money at their hotel currency exchange.!! Only U.S. and Euro's. Had to get taxi($60 U.S. return) to change money at City currency exchange. I believe you should highlight this when advising clients visiting this hotel to perhaps change at airport on arrival. Entertainment at night is pathetic, grade 5 school level. T.V. has NO shows in English for kids or adults. Surely they can afford U.S. cable stations??  [... read more] Will try somewhere else next year for these reasons..

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: A wonderful vacation

We had a great vacation. Decor around the whole resort very nice, clean and grounds beautiful. Room where great we had a small issue with know hot water but went to hotel front desk and it was taken care of right away and no further issue. Staff was very friendly and always a hello when you passed them. Food was great, restaurant were good, but the issue about wearing long pants is silly as some ladies were not dressed I felt well enough but a guy could not go in in dress shorts and a golf shir [... read more]t. Ocean El Faro: Beautiful Resort!

Everything was awesome , not so happy with Sun-wing guite a delay coming back , never knew when we was and what time we would get a update? They was 19 in our group . First time at this Resort! People was so friendly, the rooms was so clean and the grounds were so nice.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Lovely vacation for all the family!

Great beach with clear water and little to no algae. Enjoyed the kayaking. A variety of pools that were well suited for young children and not too busy. Food was varied and good. We loved the easy accessibility to the restaurants with no limits or reservations needed. Lots of positive attention for the three little ones. Grounds and rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The one negative was the lack of sufficient shade on the beach. Also, the recommendation I would make is to advertise the Kids' Club and their activities, possibly as you do the adult activities. I informed a few people I met about it after they complained there was nothing for the kids.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Good resort

We were there for 2 weeks. No real complaints. We had air conditioning and a ceiling fan and showers were usually warm. The bathrooms are constantly being cleaned and ground maintenance staff work hard to keep everything looking clean and beautiful! The food is great- large buffet with something for everyone! Hard to imagine anyone leaving hungry! Lack of loungers were a bit of an issue- had to be up early to get them but apparently on order waiting to come in .

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: DO NOT RECCOMEND

The staff will only pay attention to you if you show that you are going to tip them, I got food poisoning from the food, the pools are not cleaned, entertainment is lacking, the beach has lots of seaweed, snack bar never seems to have snacks available, the adults-only section is right by the entertainment section of the resort - very loud and not relaxing. We could hear the disco music from our room - kept us up at night.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: A beautiful resort!

Our group of six had an amazing time at the Senator Resort and Spa. This was our second trip to the resort and we would definitely like to return. The food was great and we loved the beach, especially when the cruise came and went. Only one rainy day during our thirteen day stay.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Super holiday resort

This resort is one of the cleanest resorts in the public areas. Always cleaning floors etc. Room was perfect and air conditioning and fan worked. Beds are very comfortable. This was our second visit here and will definately be back.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: March Break

Great trip and the hotel was by far the cleanest we’ve been to. No downside whatsoever. Only hope for next time that they replace the tiles in the pools as some areas are starting to age and fall off.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good Value for Money

Overall, my partner and I both felt that the resort was good value for the cost. The grounds were well-kept, rooms were clean, and food was tasty! With that said, it is definitely not a 5* and there were several things that could be improved... Our main qualm was that the evenings are extremely loud due to the disco/partying. Due to the small size of the resort there is only one pool and I think having a quiet section would be a significant improvement for those of us that are more keen on relax [... read more]ing as opposed to partying.

Riu Republica: A Great Time

I found the hotel varied and large, but not large enough that it was confusing. It was easy to find my way around, and I never ran out of options for places to enjoy a drink, swim, or food. Nightlife was excellent, there was always a party on. Only downside was being placed next to an ecological preserve which gave off a weird scent that wafted into my room.
