Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Good time despite few problems.

We stayed with family at Turquesa . Previously had visited with friends and stayed at Ambar. Unfortunately great difference in cleanliness, maid service (no hand towels or washcloths or bathmat. Just bare minimum of towels. We had broken plug so no tub available despite reporting it. Great food and staff far outweighed any problems or complaints. Will return but definitely to Ambar area.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great experience!

Perfect size resort, not too big, not too small. You get familiar with where everything is if this is your first time visiting. When you meet new people it's not hard to find them. Staff is very friendly. Food is great. The whole resort is very clean and tidy... Will go back again.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: First time in Mexico

This resort was suggested as a great place to start for our first trip to Mexico and the price was good. We were not disappointed, very, very clean and well organized with lots of helpful staff and fabulous food. Having access to all the other resorts was fun and kept it interesting. Booking trips through the hotel in the lobby was very easy and cheaper than our tour operator. Definatly will be going back to this place!

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Beautiful

Perfect place. Beautiful grounds, manicured edges and luscious trees and flowers. Good food, very nice and inviting restaurants with exceptional servers. Room service very disappointing: no change of linen, dirty floors, poor lighting and an unacceptable lack of towels. Have stayed at a different part of resort previously and our experience had been fenomenal!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Room issues - more like 4 star

Grounds were beautiful and well kept. There were always workers maintaining the gardens. No garbage on resort and beach was kept clean. Beach is over crowded and mid January waves are rough. Beach is public so you WILL be harassed multiple times to buy things (cigars, souvenirs etc). We stayed at Ambar Green, room 71106 right beside buffet. Air conditioning didn’t work well and leaked water down ceiling. I ended up slipping on water that dripped onto the floor. We called 4 times to have th [... read more]e problem fixed. Because of the water damage, the room smells strongly of Mold and we slept in wet sheets and our clothes felt damp. We were finally moved to the newer part of the resort that was renovated by ambar green pool on our fifth night. Our new room was 80109 which turned out to be a beautiful room, Mold free, and icy cold air. However, water happened to start water falling through the light in the ceiling right below the air conditioner. Surprised? No. It wasn’t even worth it to move rooms again as it was our last day now. On a good note, the maids did a wonderful job, however, we did tip well. The buffet service was incredible. It was like they watched you put your empty glass down and they were right there pouring you a new drink. The food was alright but I thought the food in the Bahia principe in Puerto Plata was much better and that was a 4star. I lived off the papaya which was incredible and the pineapple was so sweet. There was a gross sewage smell coming through the drains and toilets throughout the hotel which is unappealing. I personally found the resort to be too big. It seemed we had to take a taxi ride (golf cart ride) everywhere we went in the resort (beach, pool, restaurants). I found the beach to be overly crowded. The buffet at ambar blu, staff was rude and service was awful. Tried Italian a la carte, nothing special. Caribbean same thing. But again, I wasn’t a big fan of the food. When the staff warns you about their island shooter mama huana, believe them. Don’t do too many of those shots. They are blackout material haha! Seems like all the bartenders try to get the guests wasted because they pour a lot of booze in the drinks which can be good or bad.... All in all, I’d give this a fair 4star. Had a good time but wouldn’t return.

First the good things: • Nice grounds, grass, trees, walkways, pathways etc.. • No crowds because of the size of the grounds and villas distances from each other • Very nice and friendly personnel everywhere • Access to Bahia Tulum beach and facilities • Lots of room in the pools • Lots of lawn chairs around the pool and on the beach • Lots of palapas everywhere, pools, beaches • Good choices of food and restaurants • Excellent service from every employee • No lo [... read more]cal vendors on the beach (very few) • Good size, clean and nicely decorated room • Good size safety deposit box (physical key not the best option) • Mini fridge refilled every day with beer, drinks and water Second, things not so good: • Smell of sewer on the grounds. Something that has to be fix fast • Signage is not good in general. Area of this hotel is big. People are cruising constantly asking for directions. Maps are confusing and too small so the names on them are too big and they cover up some areas. No legends on some of them. • Numbers on golf carts running around the hotel are too small. Maps are showing numbers, they should be on carts roofs, not windshield. • Smokers are everywhere. The World has changed; get them into designated areas, not in front of the main lobby. At least one side should be smoke free.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Disappointing!

We had been to Baha'i in Mexico which was a great experience so decided to try Jamaica. No comparison in service or quality of ala cartes or entertainment! It is a beautiful resort but inconsistent service made it a less enjoyable experience.

Stayed at luxury side, beach ok but Stoney, food ok, pool ok, rooms ok, nothing special. Have stayed at this chain in Mexico and Dominican and far better quality and service. Staff inconsistent with service. Don Pablo is the signature restaurant for these resorts and was spectacular in setting and food at other countries, not so here, also specialty coffee or gluten free deserts not available although offered in buffet! Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Pure paradise

There was not one thing that I can say was bad about the resort. I was totally impressed with everything from the rooms staff and entertainment. Also the food , I am a chef and I can honestly say that the food was amazing. We went to most of the restaurants and the best food at all of them. I am going back and bringing my kids this time.

Once again all services were top notch food was great housekeeping was great all staff were super polite the golf course is always in prestine condition. Pools were always clean and well looked after.

Bahia principe saan ka'an was beautiful loved the adults only and that we had access to coba tulum and premier I would highly recommend this resort. I did find it strange that we could not get corona or sol at the resort. Was not happy with air Canada coming home as we had a 9 hr delay

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Great entertainment, restaurant & pool staff

The best thing about this resort is the staff. The pool area is great, but the rooms are not very clean or well stocked. Bugs everywhere- including in the beds! The floors in the villas are unswept, no shades on the lamps, and half the times the door keys don’t work!

This resort was absolutely gorgeous the grounds are some of the nicest I’ve ever seen. The rooms were nice although we had a few issues in ours but nothing that would affect our stay. Water park and pools were amazing. Staff for the most part was very helpful. Plenty of entertainment to keep busy at night. Buffet and a la carte restaurants were great Japanese was our favourite. On a side note we travelled in a group with a child under 2 and she contracted hand, foot and mouth. I do think the  [... read more]cleaning practices of high chairs in buffet and restaurants should be reviewed as many children we found out had the disease. Overall this was an excellent choice for our first stay in the Dominican. We are already talking of another trip to the same resort next year.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: HUGE RESORT - with potential... but not quite there

This hotel is an adult only section in a HUGE complex that has over 10,000 people! They call it 5 star luxury, but unfortunately missing the mark on quite a few things..we had a great time, however would only return if found a remarkable deal. The construction is real - and horrible if you have a room in that side, not sure how they can even try to put people there. Our butler JILSIAS - was AMAZING! Helped us move rooms and just a lovely person to chat with. Most staff cannot speak basic En [... read more]glish so prepare with some basic Spanish words to help with any of your requests. Food was hit and miss, we dined at rodizio and had the most amazing time we decided to go back, and the next time we walked out half way through. In the lobby RosaMaria was also amazing - however everyone else seemed miserable. Beach is crazy crazy busy, even in the Ambar section - we went once and left at lunch as it was just too crazy for us... however the water and sand were beautiful!

was good to be back to the sian kaan resort after 6 years...and as soon as I got to the lobby it felt like it was only a week before. The vegetation has grown lots and offers more shade and there were a few improvements since the last time, new stage area for entertainment, and a much bigger section on the beach for Adults only. The food is always spectacular, and the staff are the friendliest around. will definetly be returning again....sooner than the last time. James

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Not a 5 star resort

Even though the resort looks wonderful, they have maintance issues. We experienced safe not working, balcony door won’t locking. Between the method of them checking us in, having to change rooms, safe not working in second room (client was required to be in the room while safe was repaired). These activies took about 4 1/2 hours of our first day. We were not the only clients, we talked with two other couples that had same issues. The food was not 5 star by any means. Plan, standard and s [... read more]ame for every meal. We were unable to make a reservation at any ala Carte restaurant until after 8:30 pm for any night (this resort was not busy). If you like to walk the beach by no means is this the resort for you. My wife and I did not enjoy our stay at this resort and will not return.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Very nice resort

Resort is very beautiful. Grounds look like botanical garden. Very nicely maintained. The resort is situated on island. Our transfer from airport was very smooth. The bus was big and comfortable with about 60 min. Ride. Then about 10 min on boat. We had junior suite with ocean and garden view with beautiful balcony. The room is very spacious and bright. Bathroom is nice. No smell in the room or bathroom. A.C works perfectly no noise. No bags or mosquitoes. Resort is large. We preferred walk ever [... read more]ywhere as there is so beautiful and paths have a lot of shade but if we needed ride there is an electric cart that can take us all over the resort. There is a lot of staff with different responsibilities in this resort. Cleaning personal is doing very good job keeping everywhere nice. No shortage towels or toiletries. Mini fridge is stocked daily and bottled water was available. The food in buffet was ok. We are not very picky and that's why we could always find something like fruit or BBQ. I didn't like choice of cooked vegetables there. They were over cooked and very bland. There is also not a lot of fresh veggies. In restaurants the food was better and the staff was very friendly. No waiting for sitting and they always fill your glass. The beach was perfect with a lots of shade and launch chairs. Water is nice and clear and because it's an island there is a different beaches there. Overall it is a very nice resort and I will recommend it. Also thank you to all stuff for doing a very good job. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Holiday!

This was our fifth time at Ambar Blue and we again enjoyed our holiday. The food and of course, the staff were great. Although our room was well situated, it, along with the remainder need of a makeover. While the room was comfortable, and generally, operational, it is clearly time for a major update. We enjoy Ambar Blue and intend to return.
