Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Excellent Value

I found the resort to be quite good. I've been there four times this year. The main reason I go there is the friendly staff. It felt more like a second home and visiting friends. The food had it's good days and then maybe average a couple of days out of the week. My room was clean and well kept. With the exception of the occasional absence of hot water and finding the main building too noisy early in the morning . ( 6am to 8am) I found it impossible to sleep past 7am. After talking with a few ot [... read more]her customers I learned that some of the rooms have shower only no tub. In the future I will have to consider getting a room off of the main building. The grounds are well kept, with very nice paths for walking around the resort. It's a popular place with many repeat customers.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: “Best Cuba Vacation Ever”

I never wrote a review before, because I usually didn't have anything to add to what was already said. This time I have to, because the people working at this hotel definitely deserve a prise! What a great experience!!! This hotel is rated 3 ½ stars in travel brochures but it has 5+ service! We were a group of seven and stayed at the Sol Rio for one week in August, and that was the only negative about this vacation – it was to short. This hotel was recommended to us but, it was still a very plesent surprise. It exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!!! We arrived quite late in the evening, the hotel is about an hour ride from airport. Thanks to reading some reviews, we bought some cold beer at the airport, that made the trip pass fairly fast! Once at the hotel, we were greeted by a very kind lady that made the check in go smoothly. We got our room in the Luna part (as requested by e-mail) , only we were a little disappointed because it was on the ground floor. We went back to reception to ask for a different floor, and the new room was promised for the next day (it was 3 of us sharing one room, that’s why they couldn't do it the same night). Next day we got the second floor room with a million dollar ocean view! The room was huge, very comfy and clean. One king sized bed and two double beds. AC worked great, beds are comfortable and water bottles are replenished daily. We were in block 5 as per other travellers suggestions and it was a nice and quiet place, yet close to everything. This hotel has a very nice: area, lay-out , surroundings, views…. Very clean, it shows its age but the management and employees are doing their best. We noticed that they are doing some improvements and renovations, very discretely must I add, not to disturb any guests. Food was excellent! We stayed at the five stars hotel before, their buffet was bigger, but not better. Food was very tasty and nicely presented. If you can’t find anything to eat, look for the problem in yourself! Service was top notch, we never waited for a table, they were very fast to reset the tables. They would even go to the lobby bar if you asked for a drink they didn't have. We went to the French and Mexican restaurant, French being our favourite. Fine dining experience, excellent food and service. I read that some people complained about locals being on the beach. Locals were there everyday, not only on weekends.But what wonderful people they were! They would arrive in large groups, family and friends together. They would occupy shade under the trees and enjoy the beach and ocean. They NEVER begged for anything, they never talk to you unless you start the conversation. They just give you a beautiful smile for no reason at all. We all should learn from them, smiles don't cost anything and is a wonderful gift that can make someone's day. It made mine. It was very nice to observe how they had fun spending the day together. We always bring some stuff for the locals, they are very appreciative. We had each a carry on for us, and a big suitcase of stuff to give away. We made a few families happy, they were very surprised that we had something for them. At the end of the day we made new friends, exchanged addresses and hugs. So I don’t understand anybody complaining about the locals. It is their country and they are sharing it with us. Thank you! Anyway,what is point of travelling if you are not going to meet people and learn about their culture and their way of living? The best is saved for the end. To all personnel of Sol Rio Luna y Mares :Thank you for a best Cuba vacation ever. As somebody said before: yours smiles, hospitality and quality of service are so far unmatched. You are doing it right. Great service first, and tips are coming after. This is the first time in Cuba that we got a 100% service without tipping in advance. To my fellow travellers: Please tip. All inclusive package doesn't include tips! Show them appreciation for the great service! Ernesto it was very nice talking to you. It is nice talking to someone who is actually listening. You and your entertainment team are doing great job. We really enjoyed the young band that played Cuban music. Every night was special. I apologize for not remembering the name of young trainee at the reception, she was very professional, fast and nice…a great addition to your team. I hope she will be with you next time we visit. And last, but not least two bartenders that are true jems at Sol Rio: Jose Anthonio (Mare Lobby Bar) and Ivan Jose (La Niña beach Bar). Jose Anthonio is a superb bartender and entertainer in one! Pool grounds people nice I would recommend for single people and family's the public beach is just down the stairs from pool and I felt safe and life guards were there to make me feel safe and welcome

Brisas Guardalavaca: great resort! excellent people!

This resort was perfect! We stayed here for a week and had no complaints. ..the rooms (Oceanview) clean and the beds comfortable. AC worked very well and never had water problems. The staff from resort were really friendly. Buffet:food was really good and fresh....oh I love the smoothies prepared with fresh fruits! The beach was a real paradise! The Catamaran excursion was excellent. ..we would definitely go back again. You can never go wrong when it's Brisas!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Time

The resort was very clean no complaints about the room or staff. The room were big had a balcony and stocked with drinks as well as alcohol. The beach was great and also had a bar. The only downfall is the food, Cuba is not known for its food but Ive been to other resorts that have much more choice. There was not much entertainment but the staff was very friendly.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach

We stayed at the Blau Costa Verde in August and the we loved it. The beach is beautiful, the staff is very helpful and happy. The food was good and the lots to choose from. This resort is good for R&R and that exactly what we needed. If you are looking for night life this is not the place to be. Paying the little extra for the upgrade was worth it - the nice pool, VIP bar and Miguel at the swim up bar made it all worth it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Close to the best you'll find in Cuba

Our 3rd visit to this resort, my 5th time in Cuba. Definitely one of the best resorts you'll find - clean, friendly staff, decent food, perfect beach. Hammocks on the beach! Terrible front desk service.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing resort

The resort was fantastic. I would recommend staying in a villa though not the hotel. Restaurants were good. Entertainment staff were enthusiastic and provided lots to do. The front desk staff were not so helpful however.

Playa Pesquero: Wouldn't call it amazing but pleasant experience

The checking in process was painful. Arrived with horrible Sunwing airlines at 10:30 and got to the rooms after midnight. Too slow...btw the returne flight with Sunwing was delayed five hours without any announcement from their representative. Suggest take one day off after your returning date home. Just in case you are not stressed out about work. The hotel is nothing special and the buildings are somewhat distant from the beach and reastorants. I would not suggest this setting for anyone with  [... read more]bad knees or who cannot walk long distance. August is not the best month to look at the ground as it is burned down. I believe everything looks beautiful from November to May :) Food was very good for Cuba. There was something good and tasty for everybody. I was disappointed with the quality of cappuccino as I had had better experience as I am a passionate espresso consumer. The best feature of this hotel is THE BEACH. Talking about the clear water and the beach every day since I came back. Would like to be there NOW. The service in this hotel is mostly great. Love Fernando in Romantico and William at the beach restaurant. William is a great manager and accommodated every request of my family. The people in this resort make your vacation unforgettable. And... YES I DID GIVE TIPS ALL THE TIME. We do the same in Canada daily

Playa Costa Verde: Beautiful Hotel but!

The food this time was a disaster and the Cubans kind of messed-up the hotel...food in the swimming pool and drinking everywhere and the priority to them...complete disorder and messy... It wasn't as we would like usually. The quality of food was very bad and the missed everyday fewthings like fries, tomatoes, cucumbers, mangos, fruits..etc.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Loved the resort

Very clean rooms , good food, lots to choose from the buffets, enjoyed the very friendly staff .The evening entertainment should be more Cuban oriented. Liked the idea of the market being on the grounds

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great spot - great value.

My wife and 10 year old traveled to this Perfect spot for a family vacation. Great dining and great pools. The staff were very accommodating. The Jeep tour was fantastic and so was the snorkeling. Highly recommend this resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: What a fantastic resort.

I stayed in a royal service ocean view room in June 2014. This resort is just amazing. My room was spotless. The marble floors were very clean and the washroom in my suite was nothing short of spectacular. The walkout shower was an experience to remember. The whirlpool tub was large and I enjoyed the scented salt crystals which were provided at no extra cost. I found the king size bed a little hard for my taste so I mentioned that to my butler and he said he would fix it for me. I went out and b [... read more]y the time I returned to my suite there was a four inch foam top-up put on my bed. Wow, what service. And talk about service, every time I ordered room service my meal was perfect, hot, and on time. If you can, stay in the Royal Service suites for they are large, well furnished, and very clean. All of the grounds surrounding the suites are kept incredibly clean and well manicured. All of the beaches at the resort are clean. I never found any garbage around them at all. I stayed mostly at the Royal Service members beach for the service there is very good. The three-tiered infinity pool (royal service) looked awesome. I did not use it for I went swimming in the ocean every day. The Royal Service restaurant is sooooo fantastic. The food is the best you could ever want and the presentation of it is wonderful. I love mango`s so I asked if they could put them in my pancakes. Without hesitation they did that even though it was not a menu item. I only ate once at the other restaurants because they could not compare to the Royal Service. All of the management and staff are very friendly and help you out any way they can. From the grounds keepers and maids right up to the manager everyone was polite, well mannered, and truly concerned to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. If you are looking for a beautiful resort where you are treated with both kindness and respect, where eating is a wonderful event, and where you are pampered and treated like royalty then come to this resort. I went out on many excursions during my two week stay (both on and off the resort) and ALL of them were truly wonderful experiences. There is so much to see and do that no matter what you enjoy you will have a great vacation. My only reservation regarding the activities at the resort was that the rifle that they let you use for target practice really needs to be replaced. This was my first time in Cuba and at the Paradisus Rio De Oro Resort. It is my hope to return again in 2016 for another wonderful experience.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Our Favourite place!

We have been to Cuba 15 times now and this is our favourite place to stay. . We stay in the Villa section, as it is quieter. We took 12 family members last Spring Break and all really enjoyed the food and service. We had 6 teenagers with us and didn't worry about their safety. We won't be staying anywhere else in the future as we can't fault this Hotel the Staff and the food. Another plus is that it is a 5 min. walk to the Vendor's Market for Souveniers!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing place

I stayed with my family 4 times in this resort. I have stayed there when the kids were little and teens. The staff is amazing, the food is great, the rooms in the hotel and the rooms in the villas are huge and clean

Brisas Guardalavaca: Awesome family resort!

We spent March break there with our kids (10 and 12) and had an amazing time! Beach was beautiful, great snorkeling closeby (we used the pedal boats to get out to the coral reef), staff was wonderful and food was actually really good! A number of tasty a la carte restaurants to choose from. We did 4 and they were all yummy (Seafood restaurant was the best!) Great value for the dollar. We would definitely return. The resort is within walking distance to a market which was fun. We went swimming with the dolphins and horseback riding. Both excursions were awesome.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fantastic place to take my teenaged children!

Given, we were in the Bungalows, would go back tomorrow. Very comfortable and convenient to access the rest of the resort. Nightly entertainment was exceptional. Food was fantastic and the à la cartes were even better. Beach is gorgeous and services provided wonderfully.

Playa Pesquero: Very good resort

Grounds were very neat and clean, public area were nice, rooms clean and very good cleaning service, would like to see more dining areas available.Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lounge and lobby ares is great.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Absolutely loved the Brisas!

The Hotel , grounds and the beach was amazing. Food was just fine! Staff was very friendly. We stayed in the hotel on the top floor and the ocean view was beautiful! It wasn't noisy as others had said. I am sure families enjoy the villas. Great Hotel the only thing I heard was some of the floors on the ground level did have some issues!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Definitely a resort I would revisit

We thought it was a spotless facility . The grounds and flowers were wonderful .The staff was exceptional. Very personable . The pools were inviting and relaxing . We liked the aduts only concept . This was our 10th trip to Cuba and this was the best yet . It was conveniently located . The room was a junior suite and met our needs nicely , although we could have upgraded . It was a lovely room. The Spa was a nice feature that we took advantage of
