Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Best time ever!

I just spent my first time in Cuba after being to jamaica in January and April - In my opinion This resort was truly amazing- Checkin was quick easy and extremely welcoming. We stayed in villa 3601 wich was diamond club al fresco it had an OUTDOOR and INDOOR SHOWER 😲🤩👌 with decent water pressure, a very functional AC,little balcony and was 2 steps from the beach. - definitely worth the upgrade ( I traveled sunwing from montreal who made this upgrade very easy) The beach was absolutely  [... read more]beautiful with calms waters, I only ate at the buffet which yes it was limited, however the pasta / pizza bar and fresh stir fry section was a hit. Im told from many the a la cartes were also great, but be sure get a reservation to book it upon arrival- Also best poutines at Bites outdoor restobar point is you will not starve. Bring bug spray for the mosquitoes if you want to be in the bush or your often bit. They were not as bad as i expected, but we did bring spray. The staff would prefer USD or Canadian bills over the pesos, Please tip generously, and bring them as much as you can as gifts 🎁 Also so many friendly guests at this place your sure to make friends. Another fun moment was being able to rent SCOOTERS right off the resort! It cost 40$ cnd for 24 hours! WE Got to visit the local shops to buy souvenirs had lunch at rancho flamenco and almost made it to playa pilar - Best time ever !!!! I cant wait to go back

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Excellent Hotel

Just came back from a fabulous week at Sanctuary Grand Memories Holguin. Been traveling to Cuba for 22 years because we love the beautiful people and beaches. This was our first time in Holguin at this resort and we loved it. Sanctuary restaurant was amazing, all the ladies and gentlemen were great. Malena is wonderful, the famous Jorge was great so glad to have met him too bad he has moved to another hotel but we wish him much success and happiness. Lacking a little in nightly entertainment but a lot of hotels seem to be these days. Resort is further away harder for talent to come and entertain just for an hour I get it. My husband and I had a fun and relaxing time. He is a bit of a picky eater and he never had any issues with having a great meal every time. Yes maybe repetitive at times and may not have all that you like personally but no one is starving there. In any all inclusive food can get repeated so just enjoy it. I highly recommend this hotel - if adults only it’s worth the upgrade to Sanctuary- Grand Memories side looked like families with kids also had a great time. The drive from airport to hotel a bit long but it is 100% worth it Thank you Sanctuary we will be back again and bringing our friends to enjoy as well 🇨🇺❤️🏖️

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Do not go to this resort

Positive: grounds are mostly beautiful and well maintained. The beach is perfect and exactly what I was hoping to see. Negative: FOOD is horrible. 70% of the menu is cabbage, potatoes and sausage for breakfast lunch and dinner. Buffet is always cold, dirty plates, no option for drinks or juice. Completely disappointing! HOTEL is old and dirty. Mold in our sink, furniture is dirty, drink and bar areas are grimy and dirty. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Facts

1. Beach is incredible, but obviously weather dependant. 2. Bungalow building nine (9) is right on the beach, incredible views. 3. Staff and Cubans in general are beautiful welcoming and generous people. 4. Food is food, seriously people stop complaining. 5. There is not on-site store but golf cart will take you to next door hotel for store and currency exchange where you also can withdraw pesos cash using your credit card. 6. Melia Cayo Coco: Nice Stay! Wonderful people everywhere we went!

Very Clean accommodating Resort. The beach is worth every penny! Nice views from the a la carte restaurant! DJ was exceptional and 24 hour facilities were great if the night lingered into the wee hours!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Need to Improve Service

-Room has been full with cockroaches and mosquito -Asking for drinking water bottle, there were no one to place in our room- call at reception multiple times but no response and hang phone, I WENT TO RECEPTION AND ASKED FOR DRINKING WATER. -No proper room cleaning and bed sheet was with cockroaches' blood spot. - There were no vegetarian options in food and restaurants are very dirty and full of with flies. If you ask for any special food such as Pizza- they make faces. -One day we went to e [... read more]at Pizza and asked for 1 more pizza then chef told me sorry oven is broken and not able to make another one. After 20 mins he told me your pizza is ready. so strange.. -Only 1 lady butler who named Mercedes, she is so king and fulfill our requests such as drinking water and asked everything is ok in your room? She organized and booked multiple times dinner at restaurant for us. She is amazing.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Great resort!

It was our 2nd time at this resort. Playa Vista Azul: The worst resort

The resort's lobby looked nice, and the beach was fine, but otherwise everything else was as bad as it gets. The food options are limited, and most of the options tasted bad or old. I got food poisoning, which caused me to stay in the room for 3 days. There were insects in the room and in the food area as well. Overall, it was a really bad experience I would not recommend to anyone.

Melia Costa Rey: This is not a five stars hotel,

This hotel is not friendly for people using a walker or wheelchair like my wife, . There is no elevator in the lobby but a lot of stairs One of the front desk staff refused to help my wife to take down her walker. I strongly complained and the following day she had the same problem. An unknown guest showed compassion and she helped her to take down the walker, The hotel needs an elevator plus front desk staff willing to help.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Good but could be better!

Purchased the Royal service but everything was not as it seemed. My sister and I were excited to have the works for this vacation. We had amazing butlers (Yassar & Jannah), but we slowly realized that the features we saw online were no longer in effect. No turndown service, no mini snacks, no ironing services, no pool towel bag and no pillow menu. We did get a beach and pool concierge but only after filing a complaint (we were ignored for over 2 hours and were the only people at the private pool [... read more]). While we typically go without these services, we did pay quite a bit more to treat ourselves, only to realize we didn't get much of an upgrade. The biggest disappointment was the food. We knew the reviews going into Cuba, however this was next level. The buffet was not good. Breakfast was the best meal (bread and eggs are great there), but do not come here expecting decent food. The a la cart restaurants were essentially the same meals but a change of protein (cabbage, mash and chicken one day and cabbage, mash and pork the next). Once again, we did complain to the food and bev manager (shoutout to Jerry), and there were some improvements made. I would note that this place doesn't do all the cute and fancy drinks. Only some of the bartenders there do (shoutout to Hector and Antony). Beach was BEAUTIFUL! This is the primary reason we came to this part of cuba. It did not disappoint!! The room was nice (we were given the wrong room upon arrival but got it switched) (shoutout to Dillarmi). A/C worked great and it was clean. Bed was comfy! The shows were nice. This is definitely not a party resort, its very very quiet. We did find a roach in the room the morning we woke up. I don't think this was due to the cleanliness of the room. Roaches were constantly outside. On the note of bugs, there is a SERIOUS MOSQUITO PROBLEM. Each night my sister and I got about 8-10 bites each night. It was terrible. We ended up with over 20 bites within the last two days. We are still itching haha. Seriously, beware. Wifi was a pain as you always had to sign in each time (kept getting disconnected) and you had to get your account renewed every 30 hours for wifi access. Overall we rate it a 7/10. Some of the staff were not nice but others were outstanding. We did complain to the GM, and were given complimentary items to make up for the poor service and that was appreciated. Would not come back here, but appreciated the effort.

Melia Costa Rey: It was great except food:)

Everything was fantastic. We got ocean vew room gorgeous, clean, new matress. Thank you for that. Everything was great except food and restaurant where we eat. Food was not great unfortunately, a lot of flies and cacrocheas especially at dinner time. Sanitation is an issue and they do nothing about it unfortunately. Everything else was great including beach. Thank you tripcentral. This is second time booking with you and we got ocean vew and very close to the beach. Beautiful.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: A great time

We went in mid-May with some friends and had a great time. Beach was amazing. Resort was very clean. Staff were great—big shout out to Javier and Maria Rosa our butlers—they were amazing hosts. Darian at the lobby bar and the guys at the beach bar were always keeping us hydrated. Jorge was also great working the towel area. Yulia our cleaner kept the room very tidy. Lunches at the beach and bbq were great. Dinners were OK but from what I have heard good for Cuba resort standards. Highly re [... read more]commend—looking forward to returning.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: The Hotel was great and the beach was gorgeous and beautiful !

I stayed at Grand Aston Cayo Paredon between 18-25 June 2023. I rated the Hotel 5 Stars. I enjoyed my entire vacation (with all sunny days) and had a wonderful time there. The Hotel was new, beautiful and with a good layout. I stayed at the Deluxe Oceanview room for CAD$745 each. The room was spacious, clean, tidy, neat and everything was working in good condition. The view of the room was gorgeous, overlooking the swimming pools, the garden, the hotel, the beach and the ocean. In the mor [... read more]ning, I watched from the balcony the sun rising slowly from the ocean and the horizon, giving light and hope to us all. All restaurants are indoor with air conditioning. I enjoyed all the food at the buffet. There was no lacking of food supplies. I enjoyed the cappuccino, fried eggs, omelet, ham, bacon, yogurt cups, juice, fruit and toast (with butter) in the morning. I enjoyed the beer, the different combinations of pork, beef, chicken, fish-fillet, shrimps, pasta, pizza, vegetables, cakes, desserts, ice-cream and fruits during lunches and dinners at the Avila Buffet. The juicy mangos and papaya were super sweet and delicious; the fried fish-fillet, shrimps and pork were very tasty. Wine, liquor and champagne were served in the 4 reservation restaurants. I enjoyed the pina-colada at the Lobby bar. The entire Hotel was clean and very pleasant. The garden was well maintained. The flowers, the plants, the banana trees were beautiful. Hotel workers were working very hard all day to keep the Hotel nice, clean and beautiful for us. The 3 main swimming pools were amazing. The Bali-beds by the 40 metres pool was very romantic. Few people were swimming. At one time, I was the only one swimming at the 40M pool. Lots of empty loungers were available. The beach was wide, absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and clean. The water was clear. They cleaned up the sea weed every early morning. Lots of empty palapas and loungers stretching in front and back rows along the entire width of the beach. I did not have problem with the supply of beach towel, toilet paper, bottled water or other service. The Hotel turned on only 1 elevator when occupancy was low and turned on additional elevators pending occupancy was understandable. Mosquito was a problem to the entire Cayo Coco area. Bring and spray your mosquito repellent. All hotel staffs were friendly. Special thanks to the good and friendly service of Arturo, Osmar and Jimmy serving us at the Avila Buffet. Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Really good resort

The hotel is great, laid out nicely, one piece building for the most of it, except VIP area. Excellent staff! Most importantly, beach in Holguín and in this resort is beautiful. Excellent for families and for young couples. Pools, all do we rarely use it, are really nice, placed at the good location. Food is fine. One thing I would like to strongly suggest and believe it is really important - beach: Even so they do have a person to collect "unwanted items" (garbage) and we see th [... read more]em doing so. They need a personal all day doing extra diligent work basically with passion to have clear beach. And it is needed especially Saturday and Saturday. Also, would like to add, even so the resort is new, we have been to this resort already twice. Would suggest to everyone. We lake to see different places but I am sure we will perhaps go there again in the future.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Club Amigo makes me happy …

I am a returning guest of club amigo for many years. This was Victor’s first time. I believe we both had a very good time. There were very few Canadians during our time there, and I’m not sure if the Cuban guests leave tips. Therefore the wait staff didn’t really go over and above. We stayed in a Villa and our maid was extremely happy and kind to have served us. Our room was clean and comfortable. There are definitely a lot of changes and things that are lacking. Something that I missed [... read more] personally was the potable water filter that was located in the garden in the lobby. As there was no water given daily in the rooms. You could buy bottled water in the store but they were small bottles and they were I think US$120 each. Other than that I don’t believe the water at the bar was bottled water as they were pouring it out of the tap or out of the soda gun. Not thrilled with the currency change to Cuban pesos but that is beyond our control. Along with the American dollar charge for everything you buy and have to pay by credit card and not buy Cuban pesos. This is very hard to comprehend. The buffet could use some work. Also, I’m not sure if there were any à la carts. They do host a returning guest luncheon however, it used to be a dinner, and that is more enjoyable definitely. The main pool was fun as always. Guardalavaca Beach is absolutely beautiful. There was always beer but I heard there was no wine. There were no soft drinks other than Fanta. It would’ve been nice to have a Sprite or Gingerale. The 24 hour bar didn’t offer much food. There were no buns for the hamburgers, and all that was offered were hamburger patties and plantain chips. Without toppings at all i.e. mustard or ketchup, tomato or onion. The entertainment crew really worked hard to make sure the guests were enjoying themselves. The Cuba day was fun and the food was good at lunch. We walked around the grounds as I wanted to show Victor how big the resort was. Very sad to see the gardens and grass unkept. We never made it over to the bungalow section. There’s many changes and I really hope they get their mojo back. The staff who were there remembered me and were kind and helpful at the front desk. I never go to Cuba with high expectations of the food at the resorts. However, being at Club Amigo gives you the opportunity to go off resort to the many quaint little restaurants in the area for a change. Can’t wait to see what changes are made the next time we return.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Very nice small resort

This was our seci d visit and we will go again. Hotel is within a walking distance from Varadero with all neccessities. We did not miss anything throughout our stay. Rooms are specious and nice. Aircinditioning is working properly. i loved the thick matrace and the large pillows. Hot water was always available. Cleaning team is invisible and perfect. Considering limitations Cuba is facing, food was very good.There was daily a choice between fish, cheaken beef or pork. A great supr [... read more]ise was white cheese oorions for breakfast - all fantastic. Italian cook always had great pasta or lasagna. we coild not resist and had it as warm apetizer daily. Entertainment is absolutly excellent. Starting with fantastic trainer Luigi, streching and aqua fitness are classis if world's quality! We pay a lot at home for such classes. There is always a nice game on the beach. Dancing classes near the beach will put you on a right track with basics of latin dances. Beach is spectacular. Water is so clean and so prestine that resort would have been good just for the access to that amazing beach and ocean. Everything else comes as a plus. Nautical team is excellent - sailing, kayak or pedalo were there. There is a walleyball on the beach as well. Evening show was different every night and very nice each time. Syncronized swiming show or Magition show or Hotel Dancing Team performance with acrobates as guests...Real nice program for such a small hotel. Real nice small resort with nice tourists from.Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany. No garbage nor cigaret buds on the beach. We were five this time and all of us would comw again.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach, amazing people

Absolutely loved the beach, it was gorgeous. The buffet was great, very good layout, and basically no lines. Large variety of food and all of it was great. The workers are so nice and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again

Grand Memories Holguin: Amazing resort

Spectacular beach. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. However as is the same at all these resorts it will be nice to have the servers speak some English; which is an universal language. It is hard to communicate with all staff. There was not much variety at meals. Pretty much the same food was served. Missed fruits like bananas papaya gauva etc. Additionally I am a vegetarian and there were some others who were vegetarians. All dishes were mixed with some kind of m [... read more]eat or fish so it will be nice to have a separate section at the buffet restaurant exclusively with vegetarian food with separate spoons for serving.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Avoid at all cost

Cuban owned hotel full of only Russian tourist, stAff is rude, never smiling, even when tipped... No bottled water in the room for 4 days, room cleaning is a joke, no clean towels for days, safety box not working.. Air conditioning was at best working like a fan and with 40 degrees everyday really not fun and actually very uncomfortable. Food was the worst I have ever seen in Cuba and I have Cuban family so I know what to expect.. Roaches all over the buffet and even in the food. Pools are neve [... read more]r cleaned nor is there water circulation.. The only good part is the beach... Please listen... Do not book at this hotel!!!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Was ok for the price

Pros- beautiful location, close to airport, lots of pools, beautiful beaches, staff is amazing, wifi was good, tons of places to relax, kids area was great, crib was provided Cons- food was not great(expected this), getting coffee was difficult, never had water brought to room always had to go and ask and sometimes they had none, dinning room was crowded and difficult if you have kids, wifi password and username is long and confusing and wifi is timed so if you run out you have to go ask for mo [... read more]re, quite a few blackouts, tv didn’t work in either room, asked for a ground floor room and they put us on the top floor, mosquitoes will eat you alive! Bring as much bug spray as humanly possible!!!
