Playa Pesquero: Fabulous Vacation!

The resort was amazing, the weather was perfect and the people were great. We had no problems with the food as there was plenty to choose from and the food was very good. The rooms were clean and fresh and the bar fridge restocked every day. Couldn't have asked for better weather...almost a little too hot for our standards. Pools were clean with lots of lounge chairs and the swim up bar was a popular place to hang out. The beach was also very clean with lots of toys and marine life. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Perfect for snorkeling !

We stayed for one week, wish had stayed for two ! The snorkeling was great the reef off to the right of the beach was alive and teaming with life. There is a dive centre just off to the right of the resort. We went diving twice, very reasonable rates. Be prepared if you go to dive, that there is a lot of lugging your tanks and gear back and forth to the boat, up and down a few ladders. There is a short walk to the beach but it was neat and clean as well... lots of sand, no trouble getting a chair with some shade, take water shoes as there are some rocks in the water. We liked this resort well enough to go back again! It is very well priced for what you get. Service was friendly and we had a wonderful time there. The airport is tiny and you will be on a bus for approximately one hour to the hotel.

Playa Pesquero: Incredible resort!!!

I spent a week there with my wife and 2 kids (6 and 16 months) Everyone is super friendly the resort is extremely clean and so are the rooms. The food was outstanding there is a selection to please everyone. A la carte's were ok we actually preferred the buffet there was always something different to choose from. The staff is always willing to help they speak English very well. I would go back there again no questions asked. Be prepared there is a lot of walking to do the resort is HUGE. That be [... read more]ing said there is an abundance of activities to do with or without the kids. The beach is amazing crystal clear water a little rocky but mostly clean and clear water.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful resort for family

Beach is amazing. You come to the right place if you love clear blue water and snorkeling. Food is good, lots of choices. There is a market place with different vendors every day if you love to shop. Service is also very good.

Playa Costa Verde: Very good

No complain. Beach is fantastic, food great selection and always frash, rooms nice especially on first floor.Service nice.This is our second time in the resort and I would go again. Higly recommended for the price.

Grounds. / cleanliness : excellent Food: fair - good Service : good - excellent Entertainment fair - poor Overall good value for money. Went in with open mind for Cuba 4star and was pleasantly surprised . Went in low season

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great value, food, location, staff.

Had a great time at this resort. Food was fresh and of top quality. Activities abundant. Friendly staff. Room clean but dated. My only reason to rate it a 4/5, would be the fact the beach wasn't private to the hotel. The rep on site stated beaches aren't private in Cuba. Daily, the locals come (by the busload on the weekend) to the beach and are everywhere. The problem is the few that annoy you for things. When they start to talk, they don't stop. They stare at you like they're stalking their ne [... read more]xt victim. They make it sound like they have nothing. One local told us that they do have everything they need, and that some tell you a sob story to get things but isn't true. Play off of our emotions. That was the only drawback of a near perfect trip.

Brisas Guardalavaca: We're planning to have our wedding here in January

We picked up a cheap deal for this hotel in June to check it out for our wedding next January. It's definitely the right place! They actually have a wine cellar with a sommelier, late breakfast is possible at two restaurants, plus the beach is terrific! Good snorkeling, diving nearby, and plenty of lounge chairs. My only complaint is likely seasonal; there wasn't always mint available for mojitos. We had a mini-suite in the villas section and those rooms were huge! The wedding coordinator is great and she is trying to accommodate all our crazy requests. I can't wait for the big day in January!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Resort was very good!

We stayed at the Blau Verde Plus. The buildings were new. We paid a little more to avoid having problems with our rooms. Some had problems with their a/c or toilet in the regular Blau. The grounds are beautiful, the food is ok. A little isolate for my taste. Beach is beautiful.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: You will want to visit again

The hotel has nice views and beaches. The nightly entertainment was a highlight as was the returning visitor lobster dinner. The hotel area is nice during the day but a little noisy at night mainly due voice echos in the lobby areas.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Awesome Resort!

This was a fantastic resort, plus side upgrade is definitely worth it! Rooms were beautiful, great food selection! Very clean resort, staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent snorkeling from the beach!

Playa Pesquero: Excellent Experience!

The resort grounds were always taken care of so beautifully! Pool was always clean and beach was breathtaking. Staff was very accommodating with any requests we had. A la carte restaurants were good. Not what I expected, but still good! Buffets were great compared to other resorts I've been to in Cuba. Some food items were made right in front of you (ex - pasta bar, omelette bar, etc.) Staff was so friendly on all encounters. Rooms were always cleaned and decorated so nicely. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: terrible

Grounds good. Dinning terrible. Service in any bar was bad. My room was floode twice when it rain. Cleaning staff were good. The seafood alla carte was closed. Did not have ingreadiants for bloody mary. Beer was warm

Playa Pesquero: Nice...but could be better!

Family recommended this resort after being there a year before. We went with them in early May, found check in VERY slow, a bus load of us arrived to be checked in by ONLY 2 people at the desk. Our room was not ready for us, we had to be moved the next day. The new room had air conditioning that was at best...poor. Our room attendants were wonderful, very clean and thorough. Our family members were surprised with the difference from the year previous. The pool was falling apart, tiles missing/br [... read more]oken. Bar service was there if you tipped the bartender. Not all restaurants were open (understood it was the time of year) Found dress codes a little much, men in long pants for dinner in 95o weather...really?? Dress shorts would have been more appropriate I think. Been to Cuba twice...won't go back.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Had a lovely stay!

Had a lovely stay at this hotel! The room was nice, the food ok, the staff polite and helpful. The beach was very nice. We especially enjoyed our get-away in the country with a guide, the price was more than reasonnable and the experience memorable.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing spot to visit

The grounds are always kept neat. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are clean. You can relax without anyone bothering you. We have returned here for three years. The food is good with lots of choices.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: From Ottawa to Blau second time

First time was good, second time amazing. I stayed 2 weeks with my son, and as we know more people this time we really enjoyed our vacation. Stuff is great, so friendly and helpful. Who do I want to mention? Food and beverages manager Isaiah, entertainment guys Léo, Juan Pina, Michael, boat people, cooks, bartenders… I highly recommend this resort, and I hope to come back.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Awesome resort

We are repeat visitors (9 times). The staff, food, and surroundings are all excellent. We have made friends with some of the staff and have been welcomed into their homes, like family. The staff manage to deal with difficult patrons with a smile, which is not always easy. This resort takes pride in keeping everything clean and well looked after.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: OK Spot

We ended up in the main building. Very noisy, rooms are in poor condition, they turn the hot water off at night, 11pm to 6am there's no hot water but they won't admit to doing it. I don't care if they do that, just really don't like being lied to about it. We arrived at 1am and couldn't get a shower. Food was ok, Cafes were pretty good. The beach was nice but a lot of garbage on it. Snorkeling was good. This was rated a 3 on the web sites we looked at but I would say it was a 2 at best. Some asp [... read more]ects a 1. I wouldn't go back to this spot but others quite liked it.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: comfortable resort

Overall quite nice but public restrooms not very clean and at times without toilet paper. Check in service has improved recently but front desk staff are overworked, not enough people on duty. We were upgraded to villa section because bungalow section was closed at the time. Specialty restaurants are quite nice and with good service. Nightly entertainment was good.
