Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Second trip to this hotel

We just returned from our trip. It was our second time staying there. We found out that the hotel had many returning guests. The beach is beautiful but this time there were many jelly fish and many people got stung. Food was below average for Cuba in my opinion and although I have visited Cuba more that 20 times, this was the first time my family and I got really sick from the food. The staff are great. My kids go to bed at 8 but the mini disco starts at 9. Overall I would return again because we had a great trip and know what to expect form this resort.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Total relaxation!

Been there 3 times in one year. Beach was amazing, beautiful white sand and turquoise warm blue water. Great service from all the staff, entertainment is good, rooms were nice, clean, and up to date. We wanted a vacation with total relaxation(Escape from Reality!) I definitely recommend this resort.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort

Stayed from September 11 - 21, 2016 Bungallow 1 (Sunwing), rooms 137 (king bed) and 139 (2 twin beds) I believe Transat has better bungallows in this resort maybe not even as dated as our was. Beach is beautiful, white sand, turquoise and warm water. That's the reason you go to Cuba! :) We had a great hot and sunny weather in all 10 days, storm and rain only 2 evenings and 1 late night. Dry season starts from October till April and rain season from May till September. Mosquitoes - ye [... read more]s, but it wasn't too bad. Mostly only in the evenings and the staff was doing the "fogging" regularly both in the am and pm hours. If you see and smell the stinky smoke around the grounds that's what it is. There are other bugs too (like flying ants), make sure you keep your balcony doors shut at all times esp. if you have the light on in the room. Jellyfish - Haven't seen any in 8 days I was there and on the 9th I was stung twice. Sand, vinegar and ice cubes work quite well. Didn't feel or had anything on my skin the next day. You will also find first aid/red cross staff on the beach. Resort has nice and well kept grounds, but buildings and rooms, bathrooms are dated. If you are a pool person - there at least 3 nice big pools + kids pools. I didn't go in any as I prefer my salt water :) Food is nothing special but you will survive and you will try to make the best out of it. ;) A la carte restaurants are nothing great either but you will try it because you will get tired of the buffet food. I didn't like the asian Panda Rajo, the other 2 were ok. There is also a snack bar - only eat here if you must. Ice cream parlor - good ice cream! I was pleasantly surprised :) The entire resort staff are super nice and will do their best to please you and help you with your needs. Internet is 2 CUC per hour, works only in the lobby and the best in the am hours. I wouldn't recommend the massages in the resort spa - it is a waste of money - Paid 80CUC for 2people for 50min. I was curious because the resort in Mexico had an amazing knowledgeable masseuse staff so I wanted to compare. Here the staff was very nice and the spa is nice also, they just don't know how to massage properly. Other activities - I know they offer quite a few. I didn't do any. Overall, I had a very nice relaxing vacation but still would prefer nicer/newer looking resort buildings and more updated and renovated hotel rooms and bathrooms. Food - I know I cannot really expect better. ;)

Memories Paraiso: not very good

Food at the buffet: The food was absolutely horrible. They served the exact same food every morning, afternoon and evening and didn't have many choices at all to chose from. At times, the meat they served at the buffet was either still raw, way over cooked that it ended up being so rough and the chicken tasted as if you were chewing on rubber. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Resort

Just returned from the Ocean Casa del Mar and my husband and I had a great time. The resort was quite empty so that was a bonus for us. The beach was beautiful, white sand and great for swimming, beach shoes not necessary. The rooms were very spacious, clean and updated. The food was what we expected for Cuba, we always found something we liked at the buffet. Our meals at the buffet were always enjoyable because we always sat in the same section and were well taken care of by Magdiel, Rene, [... read more] Pedro, Alexis, Daily Juliet. We spent time at the pool bar and had fun with Junior and Yadi. We befriended Leo from the animation group and learnt much about the Cuban ways. Will certainly think of returning to this wonderful resort.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Fifth Visit Cut Short ~ Unexpected & Unhappy

I booked the Starfish for my 5th stay and for my birthday week, based on past wonderful experiences! But, sadly after only 1 night all guests were told the resort was going to be closed for renovations and we were all being upgraded and moved to a 5 Star ~ Memories Paraiso. Well this was a huge disappointment as it was far from being an upgrade and the service was terrible. We felt as if we were a burden to them, and any sort of VIP status I once had at the Starfish was no longer. 😞

Valentin Perla Blanca: A modern looking, but with problems!!!

1- A visually new moderated resort with many unnecessary ground levels.(Architectural issues) 2-Not many menu choices, the chef should get experience from another chef, for example "Melia Las Dunas" one. 3-The entertainment team not enough active, even those guys should ask for "Melia Las Dunas" team's experience. I am mentioning that team because we are familiar with that resort and they are really good in what they are doing. All the time there is entertainments going on in that resort, it [... read more] was totally different in Valentin. 4-The disco room not enough for the capacity and too loud, not sure why the theater was not in use. 5-There were small problems that did not need that much time to be fixed and technicians fixed them, but before we as tourists mentioned those problems, the maids should first mention for example the balcony door's locker was not working properly. We changed two rooms and this was an issue for both of them.... 6-Other than those problems it was a quiet resort.....

Memories Azul Beach Resort: worst resort

This Hotel it's the worst I saw in Cuba, I have been 4 times in Cuba, the 3 first great vacation, but at Memories Azul Beach Resort, the reception very poor in customer services, people working in reception, without any manners, I didn't like it at all, bar and beach were okay, but Buffet... waitress always mad, and very bad attention, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for someone bring water or juice, never offer coffee, we have to stand up and serve our self , coffee machine without cups, no su [... read more]gar on tables, no salt, etc, HORRIBLE experience, 99% of clients were Cubans, and they were very laud, after midnight screaming at the hallways, early in the morning same thing, so I never recommend this hotel to anybody, never come back again.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic Resort

We just returned from this resort and have only positive things to say about it. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept, the restaurants and rooms were spotless and the swimming pools were clean and amazing. The beach is beautiful with plenty of loungers. I was stung by a jellyfish and Adrian the lifeguard immediately took me to have it sprayed with vinigar and suggested I put ice cubes over the area. He was professional and very helpful. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort and staff!

We recently stayed there and had a nice vacation.The beach was excellent,our room was clean but the towels and sheets were sometimes not changed daily.Food was acceptable but salad bar and pastry needs some improvement(regarding freshness).The pools and beverages were really nice.Gardening and public areas are beautiful and over all we had a good time there.thanks

Melia Las Dunas: Great resort

We stayed at this resort from September 10 to September 17, 2016. We loved our stay. The hotel is very big with lots to do. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the grounds were clean and full of beautiful tropical flowers. I want to thank our maid Carlos in block 28 for the excellent service. We hope to visit again soon

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Good resort

The main lobby, hotel rooms, swimming pools and restaurants were nice and clean. The food was ok but not a lot of selection. My only complaint is the public restrooms. They were a disaster! The one in the lobby was out of order more often than not and the one closest to the pool had a stall broken stall door and a urinal on the ground.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: The best time ever

I love this resort! I have been here 3 times now and plan on going back in February! Everyone that works here was so friendly and the food was great. It definitely has the best beaches! There is a market opening up right beside it, and should be finished soon. I strolled into it (as the Bowling and disco was opened) and it is quite a sight! I recommend this resort for anyone and can tell you, that you will have the time of your life.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: The best resort in Cuba!

I have stayed in Cuba at 8 different resorts--all over the island. Oceans Casa Del Mar is by far the best resort I have stayed at. The entire staff is amazing. The food was delicious and always prepared just right. And the rooms were absolutely perfect ! This was my 3rd time going back to this resort (which says a lot since it just opened in February). I highly recommend this resort to anyone. It is beautiful and you will have an amazing time.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: 2nd visit

Returned Sept 16 2016. This resort is excellent in almost all aspects. The food was excellent the rooms were clean the service by staff outstanding. Stayed in Spa section.the beaches the most beautiful. Air Canada Rouge get some padding for your seats. Great vacation.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Resort was pretty good!

Beach was beautiful! Sand was white powder, water was crystal clear and warm. Rooms were dated but clean. Housekeeping staff was very friendly. Food was ok. Not much variety. Not much food late at night. Staff on buffet and A lacarte were all friendly. We brought ketchup, BBQ sauce, Franks which helped add some flavour. Entertainment was only ok but is slow season so I am sure would be better if more people participating. The only real negatives were the public washrooms. They were [... read more] gross. The toilets didn't flush and the men's washrooms were closed almost the whole time so they used the women's. it was so nasty. The only other negative was they only stocked the fridge with water. Overall the resort was ok. There was a lot of people who were there forrepeat vacations. One person it was their 16th time there.

Memories Paraiso: A Perfect First Family Vacation

We were very impressed with getting a freshly squeezed orange juice upon arrival at the resort. The rooms where always cleaned, the maid service was too cute with the towel animals our sons loved them and so did we. During all of our meals we were always greeted with a friendly face and smile, no always approached and drinks always offered, The lazy pool was wonderful since the bungalow was right beside it. All the events that the resort had; toopy and Bino and the Bernstein Bears, disco night and the impressations were perfect. The beach was to die for white sand Warm waters and the bars plus the music , that we went every day that we were there, There was one chef that was there and he made the best fried eggs they, were perfect every time he made them. We had a favourite bartender "Rey" he was too cool A favourite service I can't remember her. We did not have a hard time staying but we had a hard time leaving the resort because we didn't wan t to go home haha. On our last day as my family and I were leaving our room. I stopped and looked around at everything that I experienced that week and smiled saying I will miss this place, I must come back !!!!!

ocean casa del mar very new ve modern resort.Hotel puplic are loby very nice and modern room very comfort and celan room service very good.beach is wonderfull we spend very good time .Lunch and dinner is okey just breakfest poor but we liked we wants to go again another trip tahmk you for ewerthing.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Half and Half

The beaches at Starfish are beautiful. The grounds and staff were very nice. The food was typical and what you would expect. The bathrooms were in a sad state and two of the guys bathrooms were closed for the entire week, which meant guys were using the girls and needless to say they were terrible by weeks end. Overall it's a decent resort that needs to be updated with a facelift to bring it back up to standard...
