Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Fantastic Vacation

It was very clean and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The head chief took excellent care of our traveler with a no grain diet. The pool crew were read to give a hand with umbrella's and moving the chairs into the shade. the staff really remember faces. As someone with an onion allergy, the pasta stand got my meal ready as soon as it was my turn without asking. Resonance Blu Varadero: Great resort!!

Well kept! Dining area staff were the best I’ve experienced in 8 trips to Cuba!! Food was the same every time! Beach and pool area were awesome! Room was cleaned well every day! Special shout out to dining room staff! Arlynes, Melisa, sondra and others!! They really made our vacation special for us!!

Paradisus Varadero: slightly disappointed

We went on a family vacation totaling 8 people including children. We had a good time but since it was not peak season not all of the restaurants were open as advertised. Also, since it was geared towards families there was no smoking allowed, which was great, only I was irritated by the fact that it was easy to detect some of the workers smoking. The ocean was great but we had about 20 feet of stones to wade through to get to the sandbar. The food was not bad but after being in Cuba a few times in the past, you don't go expecting 5 star restaurants. They do their best. We had a good time but I think that I was expecting a little more.

Be Live Turquesa: Another Great Trip!

The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and easy to get around. We have been to this small resort four times and love the people there. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. The beach is absolutely stunning!

Paradisus Varadero: Nice resort

It was well kept and clean. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful...even the gardeners! The downside was that we were in Family Conciege and the dinner time at the buffet started at 6:30 (which meant 7:00 p.m.). Getting late for little ones. The evening shows also didn't start until 9:30. There was too much of a gap between dinner and the show. Food was okay, but not great. However, they make the best calamari! Overall, a good place to stay.

Melia Las Antillas: Very Nice Resort

The hotel is a bit older, but , the staff are exceptional. Friendliest, safest people we have ever met, all the way down to the gardeners. The housekeeping staff are wonderful, the bartenders are friendly and accommodating. The Buffett and Ala Carte restaurant staff are friendly and wait on you hand and foot. You cannot ask for better service at this resort. The grounds are kept up and have a lovely view from the lobby bar of the whole resort.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Fabulous holiday!

This resort is lovely. The grounds and pools are well tended and it's obvious the staff work very hard to keep the public spaces and rooms as clean and as orderly as possible. They take pride in their work and it shows. The staff treat you well and are very friendly and accommodating. Regrettably, our room did not have hot water for two days, so the staff graciously transferred us to another room a few floors up. That was fine, except the elevators in that wing didn't always work, so we used t [... read more]he stairs more and used the elevators on the other end of the resort. It added more exercise to our routine, so rather than complain, we just made the best of it. Since the food in the all you can eat buffet was quite good, the exercise going up and down 7 or 9 floors (depending on where we were headed) was not begrudged. I read a lot of reviews about the food in Cuba before we went there, but we found that the food at this resort was quite delicious.

Club Kawama: Home away from home

Once again a fabulous time at Club Kawama. From the staff to the food to the beach to the entertainment to my single residence cabin on the beach, it was an absolutely fantastic week. My only regret was I didn't stay longer. Can't wait to go back.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great return

The hotel was great this year lots of changes, had a villa this year was very nice, the food was the biggest change great this year they even cooked a turkey what was very good looking forward to next year

Paradisus Varadero: Fantastic Holiday

Enjoyed everything about this resort. The beach goes on forever meaning one can enjoy a scenic walk. The bay is a swimmer’s delight; although water shoes are helpful as there is a short zone of coral present. Plentiful loungers and palapas. Food was very good, especially the lunch bbq at the Cuban restaurant. The accommodations were basic-the bed was comfortable and pillow ok. The evening beach party, including the fire dancing was amazing. The day staff leading the aquafitness, beach volleyball, dance classes, and crafts were very friendly and inclusive. This is really an area of strength at the Paradisus Varadero. We had great service from all servers except for some reason the males at the 24 hr lobby bar who generally ignored us. Perhaps we weren’t tipping enough?? Thoroughly enjoyed the day trip to Havana booked through Transat. Overall we were delighted with this resort.

Paradisus Varadero: Wonderful resort overall but the beach left much to be desired.

Perhaps it was the time of year but we took the time to take video of the beach which was full of rocks and seaweed. Walking to the ocean was treacherous. We had heard from many people of how the beaches are so great. There are nicer beaches in Ft. Lauderdale. The sand is tilled but the rocks stay behind. Not stones, rocks. Several friends have viewed the video and admit they have never seen the beach this way. The service at the resort was terrific! The staff are wonderful and warm. We took t [... read more]he Royal Service and were very pleased with all it had to offer. We were very well looked after by our butler(Javier). The shower, which is in the garden was pure heaven as was the pool at Royal Service. There was not an issue with the language as the majority of the staff understood English and my bad Spanish. This was our first visit but we will consider returning because of the Royal Service and we totally enjoy the Cuban people. We did however find the exchange rate from CDN to CP a little high. There were several other very small issues with the room but nothing that would keep us from not returning. I would however suggest that when you arrive in Varadero that you pay the 40 pesos to take a cab to the resort instead of waiting for a bus which stops at many hotels on the way. A total waste of time. There were several restaurants which were no longer open and again this could be due to the time of year and the resort was not full to capacity.

Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful in every way!

This resort is beautiful and its beauty is a result of hardworking staff especially the entertainment staff who work tirelessly to make your stay memorable. The Music at Sunset, shows and a multitude of other entertainment was lovely. For Cuba the food was very good especially the bbq lunch at Playa Ranchon which was delicious. The beach was beautiful and the water warm. Had opportunities to go for a catamaran sail a few times which was beyond amazing and free. Also went snorkeling not too far o [... read more]ut and for $25 they take you out and stay while you snorkel. The rooms were comfortable if basic but clean. Rode the double decker bus to Varadero and had the best Pina Colada in Cuba. Try the homemade ice cream at the resort...so good!

Sol Palmeras: Amazing Family Vacation

We stayed in a bungalow as a family of 4 (kids 14 &12) over March Break 2019 and had an amazing time. We have vacationed in Cuba in the past and enjoyed the food at this resort much more than at previous resorts. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and clean and the beach was perfect. Pros: - good food in buffet, large selection - a la carts Chinese a [... read more]nd Italian were the best, Mexican was decent (did not try the International or the Caribbean) - nice ground / tropical layout / amazing beach and crystal clear water - good activities, badminton area, ping pong, basketball court (nets in pool as well) and beach volleyball - friendly staff - ice cream hut and fresh juice bars were a hit! - daily beach lunch bbq was great - lunch in restaurant by the beach (burgers/hot dogs/pizza/ chicken) enjoyed by all Cons: - bungalow was a bit dated (but clean) - first bungalow was in the 400 section which was a 9 minute walk to the main pool area/restaurants - this bungalow was older and had a bit of mould on the bathroom mirror (we asked to switch to something closer and they accommodated our request the next day). I would recommend the 100 section if available. - pools are also a bit dated but didn't bother us at all This is the first all inclusive we've been to as a family where we all said we would return again!

The hotel was very clean there is a huge selection of food to eat even if you are a picky eater there will be something for you to eat the snack bar was awesome but the beach wasn’t cleaned all week mikes coffee bar was the best place for coffee

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The don’t clean the Cutlery in the Buffet

Avoid this resort at all costs. They don’t clean the Cutlery in the Main buffet. Spoke to two managers and also complained on two surveys they handed out during the week. Highly unacceptable. We watched them set the tables all week with used cutlery that they just wiped off with dinner napkins.

Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort

Some things were falling apart and our shower leaked. Our bathroom sliding door was very hard to close and so was our closet doors. They did however fixed them both the day before we left. The staff and employees were terrific as is always in Cuba. The towels also smelled like stinky cheese, but everything was very clean. We would go back again sometime.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Not terrible...

Ok, so I'll start with I booked this resort strictly for the price. The price was good at $805 for a single person. First glance, you can see it is dated and could use some upgrades, but is very clean. The grounds are beautiful and very well taken care of. Gardens everywhere! There was plenty going on throughout the day and a show every evening. Unfortunately I didnt make it out to the shows due to the no-see-ums. They were pretty bad after dark by the beach and the shows were at the o [... read more]utdoor venue, although they do have an indoor venue that they do not use, and I'm not sure why. A band played every evening in the lobby, and they were fantastic! Everyone always dancing while they played and the animation team made sure of it! Kudos to the animation team! Every night they were teaching salsa, mambo, merengue, etc and had a great time doing it. The drinks were plenty and the pina coladas were perfection! The food was the same every day. Not terrible, but not great. Bring snacks from home or go into town and eat at one of the fantastic restaurants in varadero. Check in was pretty easy, as well as check out, but dont forget to bring your towel to the front desk or the clubhouse or you will be charged 15CUC. My room was a king size on the top floor, as I asked for. It had a partial oceanview, but was on the east side which faced to the back of another resort, where the workers came in on bus early in the mornings. If you're a light sleeper, I would ask for maybe the west side of the building. I really didnt mind that much though as I hardly sleep on vacation. My room could definitely use some updating. The bathroom had been, but the rest of the room had not. The ac did not work, but it didn't bother me, so I didn't complain about it. My room key stopped working on more than one occasion, which when exhausted at 2am was a little annoying, needing to walk back to the front desk 3 times. They got me into my room, so it is what it is. The beach was very nice. Loved walking through the overgrown trees out the the beach. It was groomed every day, white sand, turquoise water, beautiful! Plenty of loungers that I saw, both on the beach and at the pool. The pool is a fairly decent size, with a 0% end for the smaller kiddies to get in safely. I didnt actually go in the pool, not a huge fan, especially when you have a beach right there! The pool bar was great, but wish they used the swim up bar, maybe then I would have gone in? I did not use the gym, but some girls I met said they went to use it and more than half the equipment is either broken or missing pieces and unusable. I would avoid it and maybe go for a jog if you really need to workout while on vacay. The gift and smoke shop is well stocked, but if you need anything, be sure to do so no late that 6pm could it could close at any minute, even though it says it's open until 9pm. The Italian al a carte was the best of the three I ate at. I would not suggest the Cuban or the international. Maybe I just didnt choose the right meals, but I didnt really enjoy any of the food at this resort. There is a disco right on site that is also part of the all inclusive. The DJ was fantastic! I didnt stop dancing the entire night I was there. Great mix of Spanish and top 40 dance type music. Overall, for the value, I would say it was worth it. Not too sure i would return, although the animation team and the bartenders there were fantastic. They would be the reasons I would return. Being such a small resort, you really get to know a lot of people there, which I really enjoyed! It was funny because I had met 4 or 5 different groups of people in the first couple days I was there, then I travelled to Havana for 3 nights. When I came back, they all knew each other and had been hanging out while I was gone! I thought it was awesome because you wouldnt have that at a bigger resort. You might not even see the same people at a bigger resort. I would recommend this place to any solo travellers or budget conscious people or families, looking for a nice beach, great entertainment, and smaller resort atmosphere!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Spectacular Suprise!

Room we stayed in was a little dated but very spacious & very clean. Bed was also very comfortable. Pool area along with the beach area kept in a pristine fashion. Staff very friendly and helpful. Supper buffet was typical of all Cuban resorts we have stayed at. A la cartes were very good and enjoyable. The lunch buffet at the beach snack bar was simply incredible. Playa Vista Azul: great staff and cleanliness

thought everything was very good---great landscaping--- buffett food often cold because of lineups---suggest some self serve micro-waves--entertainment at night was very professional---pool snack bar was excellent
