Hotel Los Cactus: Not the best 😕

I booked a super select run of the house garden view suite, my first room was a view of the next hotels garbage bins, got moved to a "premium room" for more money AC failed in the middle of the night, next room, couldn't find the remote for the AC, final room was great something I should have gotten in the first place its Sunday after by now and there were only about 100 guests. This was my 17th stay at this resort and maybe my last.

Hotel Mojito: Beautiful Resort

The rooms needs updating, quite a lot of cracks around doors, bugs can enter, otherwise rooms were clean, staff were always nice and friendly,shows were good, but need to start around 9:00 not 9:30, noticed a lot of people were leaving before 9:30

Hotel Camino del Mar: Disappointing resort

We had been in this resort for four to five years before the pandemic. This time the resort was far behind the services we had before. We only could have mainly eggs for our breakfast and fried fishes, pumpkins and eggs for our lunches and dinners. The management was deteriorated much in comparing with four years ago. Last day of our visit, we needed to check out at noon time but our time for leaving to the airport was 1800 hours. Besides, I did not have hot water supply to my room and poor air-conditioning to my friend's room. Nevertheless, the cleanliness of the rooms was up to standard as previous years.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fantastic as always and improving

Just returned from our 8th stay since Covid restrictions lifted. We go diamond club which I recommend especially if you have a later flight and enjoy a few extras. We did notice any shortages to speak of this trip. Everyone from reception, lobby bar, buffet, snack bar and diamond club areas were fantastic. We only ate at the buffet twice and no complaints. Diamond club restaurant breakfast and dinner were excellent. Not many changes in the menu but that doesn't bother us at all. We stayed in an [... read more] Al Fresco suite, our favorite with the outdoor shower. Comfortable with lots of room. There is also a new manager since our last visit, Iago, and I will say that he is taking the hotel in the right direction. The changes he's implementing are noticeable and making a difference. We look forward to returning again soon.

Melia Costa Rey: Roaches everywhere!!

Although we enjoyed our family vacation because we can enjoy ourself anywhere when we are together , I wouldn't recommend this resort at all . We picked it because the reviews were all positive and they are baby friendly. Our first night getting there , we got raided with mosquito bites! The stewardess decided not to give us a visa so we had to wait for the whole plane to go through while my 8 month old was being covered with a blanket as to not get him full of bites . We went to the snack bar to get a snack and drink after a long flight and the man working behind the bar did not crack smile nor did he acknowledge our presences. By the second night I felt so uncomfortable to go get a drink because the worker were all miserable and expected a tip for horrible service . Even when you'd give them 5 canadian dollars for pouring a flat beer ,they'd treat you like shit . While we would be eating the servers would come up to the table put the change down ,count it and then ask if you would change it to a bill, one of them even brought a napkin so we could clean our hands . Not to mention they have ROACHES in every restaurant on the resort. I don't 1understand how in no reviews did it mention the roaches , it was absolutely disgusting. I can count on 1 hand who was nice and welcoming from the staff . Overall if you want to be sick from old roaches infested food and treated like dirt then I'd strongly recommend this resort . If not I'd say stick to Varadero ,maybe you'd have better chance of being treated like a paying customer.

Grand Memories Holguin: Great resort, new, modern, luxurious

Beautiful rooms, excellent service, well kept grounds, premium beach, kind compassionate stuff, well served food with decent variety, definitely one of our best vacation spots. The only downside is the 1h44m ride from the airport, but it’s absolutely worth it as it does have the 5-star vacation feeling.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Great Resort

Our stay was exceptional. The resort was spotless and staff catered to our every request. The three Amigos....Juniors (butlers X 2 & bar tender) exceptional service. Food far exceeded what we expected for Cuba. My husband believes this is the first time he has been to Cuba where he might have gain weight. If I could of pack the butlers in my suitcase to come home, I would have. Well worth the upgrade to Coral level. Looking forward to a return visit. Pools very nice. Third beach nice [... read more] across the bridge. Call 555 and have your butler drive you over in electric golf carts as a bit of a walk otherwise. Resort about 1 hour from airport but went by fast as tour guide on bus very entertaining.

Melia Las Americas: Very happy vacationers

Food was amazing, great variety. Staff were making our stay vary enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to get away with golfing options or any activities at the beach. Live performance was on daily bases.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

This our second visit to this resort this year. The first time we stayed in a standard room, had no issues what so ever. Last week when we went for the second time we booked a junior suite. Absolutely loved it, room was clean, air conditioner worked great, had tons of hot water and loved the outdoor shower. The soup are for sure worth trying ! When at the resort you must go to Beans & see Yusmilba!! She is amazing , she has such a warm personality & so friendly. Her creations on your coffee are beautiful. The Ice cream is also a must !! The resort has a new general manager Iago Cela & is very welcoming & we seen him several times throughout our stay wanted to make our holiday was going as expected. The staff at the resort were all willing to please. Will for sure be returning again

Memories Jibacoa: A great adult only resort to stay in Cuba.

The snorkeling is excellent! Beautiful coral reef right there! Beautiful beach! Not a party resort. Very enjoyable. The staff are wonderful! Very friendly, welcoming people. Lots of fun games and activities. The shows at night are fabulous. Very professional! The grounds are well kept. The rooms are clean. Not a super modern resort but very pleasant. Well cared for. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Everything I needed and more!

I had an amazing week at this resort in May 2023. Bus ride was 1/2 hour from the airport. Rooms are big and spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is big but well configured and clean. Beach was breathtaking! For having food shortages in the country I had no issues with food! Omelettes, eggs, toast, cheese, pizza, pasta, burgers, fries, rice, fruits. Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great time!

My room was beautiful. I especially loved the swim up room. So worth it! The grounds were very nice and the buildings with the rooms were very pretty. Now this is not the fault of Cuba or the resort, but the weather sucked, rainy and overcast. I made the best of it. I went to the beach which was really nice. No seaweed, no rocks and shallow. I used the deet spray and that worked well. If you are looking to party this is not the resort. It's quiet and not a lot to do. This was fine with me as I just wanted to relax and swim. On the Thursday night their was a great dance show in the lobby. Their is a 24 hour bar here and you can get food their after 11pm. The food: People always say it's not great bit I found it good. Lots of fruit like watermelon, pineapple and mangos. A lot of pork dishes. Their was a lot of buns etc. You definitely won't go hungry. Anyway I enjoyed my time there though I wish it was a little busier and the weather was better

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great hotel

I have been to over 20 hotels in Cuba. By far this was the best. The food was very good. Much above the standard Cuban hotel dining experience. The hotel was about 20 minutes away from the airport. The rooms were bright, clean and big. Everything was working. I would expect that since the hotel is only been open 6 months. I only had two complaints for the vacation. I did get a very small portion of ocean view but mostly of of the construction of the hotel being built next door. In my honest opinion it was not ocean view. Playa Vista Azul: One of the best EVER that we ever stayed at.

It was a very beautiful resort,we loved it very much,have been going to cuba especially varadero for 20 some years and found our gem,workers from inside to the outside were so so friendly,we will be going back to this one hopefully for many more times,you have to go for yourself to see,I did and no regrets.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: AMAZING RESORT

We were a party of 8 from May 20-27,2023 This resort exceeded our expectations. Check in was quick and easy. Our butler’s Norvi & Jose were top notch & were always available to answer questions and help us find everything we needed. The staff were all amazing, kind and friendly as per everywhere we’ve been in Cuba. We spent every evening at the Rumba Bar (beside the pool across the hall from the a la carte, open 24 hrs), this is where all the live entertainment is and every night i [... read more]t was exceptional; highly recommend you won’t be disappointed. Recommended drinks at the Rumba: Spanish Coffee, Mojitos, Ice coffees, Coffee Martini, Pineapple Daquari, Sex on the Beach, Rum and Coke & Crystal beer. They did have vodka when we were there. All the bartenders were amazing and will make you pretty much whatever you want you may just have to give them the recipe. Special shout out to our bartenders Leo & Amanda we love you ♥️ We ate most evenings at the Sanctuary’s a la cart enjoyed the food was quite flavourful, this needs to be booked in advance so recommend if you have a specific time you like to eat to do this upon arrival with your butler. Breakfast and lunch are available everyday at the a la carte(no reservation needed)as well and was pretty good. My husband and I like our omelettes loaded though so we ate at the Grand Memories Buffet 5 out of 7 days as the Sanctuary A la Carte only offered ham, cheese and green pepper omelettes. Everything else at the a la carte was good, they had menu service and a small buffet with breads, plum marmalade, yogurt, cereal & tropical fruit. We also ate at the Santuary a la carte twice for lunch and the food was good. We ate 5 out of 7 days at the Grand Memories buffet as well for the variety. They had ham fried rice one day and I highly recommend it if you come across it being served! The Sanctuary also has a snack shack attached to the Rumba & Ala carte building outside at the right hand end, drinks were good and they had hamburgers(pork), the best fries and 2 days they had a chicken salad sandwich available. We talked to another couple that would order fries at the snack shack and take them down to the BBQ(only available at lunchtime)beside the beach bar(highly recommend) where they would load up on whatever protein was being made usually pork but delicious. There is also a snack shack at the Grand Memories by the pool, it was ok and a buffet style snack shack closer to their beach. I didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food but I do believe there was live entertainment most days. We ate at the Grand Memories Asian and Italian a la cartes the Asian was very good and the Italian was ok. The Beach: AMAZING as always!!! We had green flag everyday the water was calmest in the morning and just small waves in the afternoons crystal clear and gorgeous. We got to the beach every morning around 8 to 8:30 and were able to get 8 chairs together with shade. The beach staff were amazing, one fellow offered waiter services(wish I would have caught his name) he was friendly and quick!! It is a quieter beach you can faintly hear the music from the resorts near by. We had our portable speaker and played our own music. The only con for the beach was the sand was extremely hot so make sure to keep your footwear on to get to your chairs we love to walk on the beach so we walked barefoot along the ocean edge where the water cooled the sand. We spend 2 afternoons at the Grand Memories swim up bar pool and had a great time, drink recommend: Blue Diamond(pineapple juice rum and blue curacoa. We spent 1 afternoon at the Sanctuary pool only downfall was the lack of shade. All pools were very clean everyday!! We tried to take in the Grease show at the Grand Memories theatre but it is an open air theatre with only one opening, no breeze and no AC the performance was amazing as per usual but we had to leave due to overheating. We took in the Disco one night located past the theatre. We had lots of fun great music and lots of dancing. The Grand Memories does have a little shop(not always open) with Rum, Cigars, Cigarettes and typical souvenirs but be prepared the souvenirs are quite expensive compared to the cute little market shops located by the Grand Memories swim up pool and on the other side of the path as well and another just down from the beach buffet I believe there were 6 booths all together. The rooms were always clean and the AC worked quite well(needed the extra blankets located in the closets) The safe worked great. There was an iron and ironing board in the closet but I never tried them. I tried the hair dryer but it was quite rattley and gave off a burning smell so I usually gave myself enough time before dinner to air dry my hair, nothing a quick step out into the balcony didn’t solve lol. So I recommend bringing a converter plug and your own hair dryer if you like to blow dry your hair, be prepared though that you may still need to only use the low setting so you don’t overheat your hairdryer. We recommend using the shower in the tub(worked great) as the other shower will flood your bathroom and entrance. We always had at least 1 towel some days 2 and one day 3. If all else fails you do get 2 beach towels. We had a hand towel but used it for a bath mat. We always had 2 rolls of toilet paper but were prepared with travel packs of Kleenex (easier to pack) just in case. I kept the Kleenex in my purse and beach bag for the washrooms on the resort also just in case(needed a couple times) We always had 2 bottles of water. Our fridge had 1 bottle of coke and 2 cans of Crystal upon arrival we did not drink them so they didn’t restock those items. I would absolutely go back to the Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Worst resort ever - do not recommend

Worst resort ever! So many mosquitos and bug bites in beds, every room. The key doesnt work, safe doesnt work - food was horrible in every restairant. Absolute worstttt Staff was worst and not helpful. Tripcentral with the worst recommendation - Manuella made this recommendation. Worst ever.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort and beach!

I can't say enough about how lovely this resort was! The service and people there were so accommodating and lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The beach is the nicest, most clear beautiful beach I've ever seen! Definitely the highlight of the trip! The food was pretty good and the quesadilla at the beach bar was delicious. Sol Palmeras: 1 week at the Sol Palmeras May 2023

Obviously, expectations will influence your experience. We expected an older resort, lack of food variety, and little pool/beach services. However, 5 guys in their 50s appreciated the impeccable beaches, beautiful weather, and friendly environment.

Don Lino Hotel: This Hotel should be advertised as for SMOKER ONLY.

You cannot expect a lot from a 2-star hotel. BUT I could not find even one spot where a nonsmoker can seat comfortably. People smoke in the lobby because there is no sign Do not smoke. People smoke in the bar because there is no sign that do not smoke. People even smoke 1 meter from the entrance to the restaurant. I suffer from a very bad allergy to cigarette smoke. I become coughing when somebody smokes close to me. When I was working and was in a better financial situation I went many times t [... read more]o Brisas Guardalavaca. At Brisas al Bars and Lobbies have a sign do not smoke. We leave in the xxI century when health is very important. However, the Management of Don Lino is a few centuries behind. I hope one day there is going to be one place at Don Lino for NON SMOKERS.

Blau Arenal Habana Beach: Very good hotel

We stayed 7days and very satisfied with this hotel, clean, safe and nice stuffs. We don’t have any complain for food because they already try their best to serve tourists. Also the hotel is very convenient for people to Havana.
