Iberostar Origin Tainos: Nice and small, well maintained resort
Staff is very friendly but if someone is looking for a good food, forget. Choice and quality of food is at 3 star resort level and friendly servers will not improve that rating unless kitchen staff and suppliers will start their job.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Fantastic holiday spent here
With this hotels beautiful landscape, you honestly could not ask for a better place. The location of the hotel was only fifteen minutes away from the airport (that's including stops to other resorts) which my mother and I found quite convenient.
The staff were very personal and the decorations of the hotel were stunning. There were also several options for bars when the sun went down, which was quite convenient.
As for the food, I would say it had its good and bad days. Some days the food was [... read more]great and on others I avoided a lot at all costs. The staff also took several days to restock our fridge, but we didn't mind walking to a bar to grab extra drinks.
Overall it was a beautiful resort that can certainly accommodate all ages!!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: fairly new resort
Impressed with the bottle of champagne in our room for my birthday. Someone would have had to review my information as we did not mention it was my birthday.
Staff was excellent. Often they would engage guests in conversation. Grounds were clean and maintained.
Our disappointment was with the buffet. Food was warm at best and generally over cooked and tough. Easy to fix.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful Resort
We were a party of 6 seniors who enjoyed a restful, trouble free week at the Iberostar resort. The staff was always helpful and courteous. The waiters seemed to always remember our preferences and the food was fantastic in all the restaurants with lots to choose from. We even had ocean view rooms without asking. The grounds are beautiful and the beach area was clean and not crowded. We will certainly be back for another holiday.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: great vacation
The resort was small and well laid out. The a la cartes were all delicious as was the buffet. The beach was a good size and kept clean and you could snorkel right there. All of the staff were very nice and hard working. The only issue that I had was when walking on the beach early in the morning, there were locals selling their ware as well and selling and smoking pot...every day. They could get a little pushy at times and by the end of the week, I really didn't want to walk the beach in the mor[... read more]ning.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic Stay!!
We had a fabulous stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort from Nov 24 - Dec 4! The rooms we first stayed in were near the theater stages so after a couple of nights we asked to be moved to a quieter location. The staff accommodated us with no hesitation.
The rooms were very nicely appointed and the room cleaning staff did a great job. The air conditioning worked very well and was very quiet. The beds were very comfortable.
The beach was great although the first few days the sea was very rou[... read more]gh so swimming at the beach was not an option. Having the HUGE pool with its different sections; activity, bar, and quiet area was a great alternative.
The food was amazing. We have traveled to both the Mayan Riviera and the Puerto Vallarta/Nuevo Vallarta areas many times and this trip by far surpassed all other stays in Mexico. One of our group is celiac and the resort literally assigned two chefs to be wherever we were eating during our stay so that they could prepare gluten free pancakes, or pasta or recommend what he could have from the buffets. Marcos and Alexis were always there, ready to prepare or find some gluten free delicacy. They truly wanted to ensure that everyone enjoyed their food experience at the resort. We have never experienced such attention to special dietary considerations. And we have traveled with this couple many times before. Even we "normal" folk were thinking we should request some dietary need LOL
The activity staff were all wonderful. We enjoyed doing some sports we had never tried before: archery and target shooting. Ricardo, Rigo and Javier really know their stuff! Karen, who was brand new even made us feel welcome as if she had been there forever!
The guys were really happy that the sea calmed down enough to be able to take out one of the catamarans for a sail a couple of days.
All in all a great vacation at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach. Would highly recommend the resort to anyone looking for a warm and hospitable place to stay on the Mayan Riviera.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: WONDERFUL HOTEL
This is my second time at this hotel. This time I needed to take a handicap room as I walk with a walker and the room was great. The front desk staff are very helpful and always have a smile. The buffet was good as there was always a good variety of food to choose from. Planning my next visit to this wonderful hotel.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Terrific Resort
This resort was beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The food was great with lots of choices. The Steak House by the beach served the most tender steaks. All of the staff was supper friendly and eager to assist with anything. Really enjoyed our time. The only problem was the weather, as we had five days of rain.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing Trip!
The minute we stepped into the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort I new that our week was going to be amazing. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are wonderful and the food was delicious every single day.
We ate at all three of the à la carte restaurants and the Cajun and Steak house were our favourites. The buffet had different themes every night for dinner. Lots of options that were all very good. Drinks were all delicious!
Special thanks to Peter, Colors and Massimo for making my son's vacat[... read more]ion even better by playing beach soccer. It truly made his week!
The cleaning ladies always did an excellent job of our rooms. Beer fridge was always full. Also, a great plus is the tap water is drinkable.
Great for families, couples, singles....this resort won't disappoint.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: An Excellent Place to Relax and Rejuvenate
I am one those people whom you would call a “workaholicâ€. Being at the Iberostar is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing experiences that I could have. The resort is so big and beautiful and clean. If you love to take a long walk or jog, this would be the place, as it would take over an hour to walk from one end to the other end. The Iberostar Ensenachos resort has 5 swimming pools and not just one, but two connecting beautiful longest beaches for you to enjoy. Each side of the beaches hav[... read more]e unique qualities to them. The first time we visited the resort, we spend most of our time at Mengano beach where we went snorkeling up to the sunken barge where there were colorful little fishes to see. There were also many star fishes on the Mengano side of the beach that you can pick up and look at. This year when we went back, we spent most of our time at the Ensenachos side of the beach because our room was situated on this end of the resort. Similar to the Mengano beach, the Ensenachos have the same extended long beach front. Here, there are many fishes that comes right up to the shore and nibble at your feet. It was unique experience to be able to stand in the ocean and see hundreds and thousands of fishes swimming around you. One thing to note: they do not have many snorkelling gears for you to use there so it is best if you bring your own. The place is so big that where ever you go, it does not seem crowded. We enjoy other facilities such as the gym, tennis court. They also have a spa there but I cannot comment on since I did not participate in the activity. The show they have there are quite good. The dancers were very professional. I would say the flamingo show that we went to see were comparable to the shows that I have seen at Casino Rama. I also noticed that there are great areas for kids to enjoy as well. Our room was big, clean and air-conditioned. The outlet in the room are all 220V so if you need to use your own electronic devise to bring a splitter. The food was decent. There appears to be a bit more flavor in our food. The resort has several restaurants. The ones that we dined at were the Italian, Asian, Mediterranean and of course the Buffet. If you love seafood, there is no shortage of that. The people were so nice. Every morning after our workout, we would walk along the path and the gardener would offer us a fresh coconut.
We met several couples who have been there 4 times and some have been there 15 times and I can see that since we are there 2 times already and would likely go back there again.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Lovely place
We felt the place was well kept, the grounds were beautiful, we loved how we could sit on our balcony and see a distance instead of having foliage in the way. The pool area was great and we appreciated the job that was done to keep the beach clean. The restaurants were great! Evening entertainment was good. Only negative comment was that we were told men needed to were pants and many of them were wearing shorts, even jean shorts and a cap on their head when this was suppose to be a a la cart res[... read more]taurant and others were dressing up. Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Ideal for all ages
Iberostar Dominicana and Puntacana are the same.Choose which one is better price. Check in /out very fast. Staff are friendly. The WestJet tour rep more intrested in selling tour pakages than explaning other things. The tours are very expensive, most are over $100 US p/p.
We stayed in bungalo type suite and it was very good. The site has beautiful landscape and well maintained. Walking around the site is very enjoyable.Beach is very nice .No water shoe required. The waves are bit high and the water[... read more] is slightly deep, so if you are not a swimmer, you may not enjoy that much.Food is ok. If you are a vegetarian, you are stuck with pastas every day. Would be nice more veg dishes available. If the price is right, I wil go back again since I spent all my time in the beach.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: just ok friendly staff
The resort itself had pros and cons
it is set in a jungle setting a lot of foliage but not flowers and color
we didn't get one mosquito bite they do fog at night
i expected to see more iguanas laying around but only saw one as well as a wild pig one night . they have peacocks wondering around but only one male
they did have flamingos, turtles and iguanas in front of the buffet
the room was disappointing it reminded me of something the flintstones would live in although colourful and clean it ha[... read more]d stucco walls the maid did and excellent job
they had free wifi in the room with no signin screen
the tv had mostly spanish channels but some english
there are serious issues with hot water it gets scalding hot and the taps are not in english the "C" is for hot and the "F" is for cold. what we did eventually was to turn the hot and cold on full and then turn back the hot until it got reasonable
the food in the buffet was good and lots of varieties a lot of food did not have signage
we ate in the ala carte steak house once the food was above average and the reservation was not hard to get. the steak house is the beach buffet in the afternoon
the other alternative is the tex mex restaurant its basically ala carte with no reservations. the food and size of the portions was a nice change. however it was loud and bright because it had no windows
the beach was excellent and calm. we never had a sand flea bite. the sunsets were perfect with steel grey water.
the cruise ships went by the one day at sunset. nice picture but the wife had the camera with her
the beach bar made excellent mojitos
if you walk to the right on the beach past albertos you can walk forever on the beach and in the water
we never went to use the pool and didn't do any activities
the shows at night in the theater and beach party was good but starts way to late at 9:30???
i dove at dressel divers, onsite, which were very well organized and i met alot of nice people the only issue is that it's a bit pricey especially with the canadian $ being what it is
the reefs were only a short distance from the resort and alot of the divers i spoke with said that's why they keep returning
there are so many places to see in the world so i'm not sure i'd return unless it was with a dive group or the price was right

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Not as good as I expected
They like return business and I think they respond well to direct contact with their sales manager. Our standard room was upgraded to a superior ocean view for no extra cost.
Grounds and rooms are in good condition. Pillows are not good. Mattress isn't the best. TV and reception is good. Shower is very good.
Food is ok but all 4 people in our group experienced minor intestinal issues for the 10 days we were there. This was our first experience with this issue in our 7 previous visits to cuba.

The beach was a bit of a disappointment because if you catch high tides during the day you can't walk the beach and there is very little space at the beach to actually sun.
The pool wasn't the best. It's small and the prime seats disappear quickly in the morning. I went to get our seats at 7:30 am. The resort wasn't near full capacity and they did not have enough seating on some days. Also crowding was an issue.
Noise and behaviour of guests was an issue because of the high number of guests from la belle province. They seem to like to travel in large gruops. It seems like this a popular resort for them.
The staff was good but, not exceptional. They weren't as outgoing as they are at other reorts we have visited.
The dancers on a couple of nights was outstanding. Costuming was really good. A few weak nights but overall pretty good.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good but could be much better
Very small resort but it made everything close and easy to get to. I thought they did a great job keeping the grounds up and was enjoyable to walk around. The biggest issue at this resort is the food. Fresh grill stations were great but premade food was terrible. Worst desserts we have had at a resort and breakfast, other then the omelet station was almost dreadful. The lobby area was fantastic other then the wicker seats...very uncomfortable as they are missing all the cushions. Management said[... read more] they were on order so hopefully they will fix this issue because lobby is a great place to hang out. Loved the entertainment in the evenings in the lobby, local musicians were very enjoyable. Shows were terrible other then the Broadway night.
With a few tweaks here and there this could be a great resort rather then just ok. They have to correct the quality and variety of the food. Also, I was getting tired of having the cook staff whispering to us that they would secretly sell and cook us up some lobster.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Perfect Resort for a Destination Wedding
We got back from the Iberostar Laguna Azul on November 30 2015 and it was one of the best weeks of our lives. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone thinking about a destination wedding or just wanting to get away for a week. We've stayed all over Cuba and this was the nicest hotel we have been to. The food was the best we've had in Cuba, there was always lots of choices and everything was edible. The staff was very helpful and courteous every time we were in contact with them. The [... read more]wedding coordinator (Enith Gonzalez) made our wedding week as stress free as possible and made the wedding day one we will never forget. The beds are a little hard but overall the rooms are really nice. Some people complained about the lack of lighting at night around the resort but it didn't bother us at all. The beach was gorgeous even though we didn't spend a lot of time there because it was pretty windy all week. There was entertainment every day and night. Most of it was generic Cuban hotel entertainment but there was definitely some different things to watch throughout the week. We never had a problem getting towels, whether it was bathroom towels or beach towels. The resort is also very child friendly so it's a great place to have a family vacation.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Amazing Vacation
My boyfriend and I traveled as a couple to Iberostar for a week in mid November. The first night we arrived it was pouring rain and we had a leak in our closet - no one really came by to check it out when we called the front desk however it was late and I'm assuming there was nothing to be done about it. It rained in the evenings for 2 days after and didn't leak again.
The resort is beautiful, individual bungalows made it feel like we were in the jungle. The AC is powerful and there's a fan for[... read more] added comfort. It was very humid when we went and the room had a damp feel but there's nothing you can do about it - we left the fan running all day to help with the airflow. There are also wild animals scattered throughout the resort. Flamingos, peacocks, parrots, iguanas (big and small) and we even saw wild pigs at night!
The food is amazing! No complaints, we ate like royalty. While we were there, the Japanese restaurant was under renos so we only had the Tex Mex and steakhouse to choose for dinner other than the buffet. The staff did a good job keeping food choices at a variety each night at the buffet as well.
The beach is rocky and you can't get in through the front. You have to go to the dock and climb in there, there's tons of fish to see so bring your snorkel gear!
The staff was also amazing! They would remember your name, what you liked to drink and ask how your day was going. Even sit down and talk with you if you were having your lunch by the pool. Shoutout to Juan and Orlando who kept up with us all week long.
Overall we loved this resort, if you get a chance to rent a jeep and drive around the island I'd suggest doing it. We also went to the main land through the ferry to shop at "fifth avenue" in Playa del Carmen and downtown Cozumel you can see all the cruise ships docked. Downtown is busy, lots of vendors, especially when there are ships. Make sure you take the tequila tour!
I would definitely back!
