Riu Palace Antillas: Wish we stayed longer!

We went to the Riu antillas for our honeymoon! The resort was beautiful. Great food and clean grounds at all times! Our room was beautiful and we had a great view of the ocean. We can't wait to go back

Hotel very dated very old rooms way less than 4-5 star virtually no grounds carpets in hallways somewhat musty. Not a write off place but not as advertised and not the value for the cost.food was top rate & people very friendly

Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort: Loved it!

I stayed here with a girlfriend for a week, on the adults-only side. We did venture to the family side for dinner one evening and found it inferior in terms of food quality and service. That being said, we didn't spend any other time on that side. The private island is lovely. We sprung for a cabana one day and definitely recommend! Riu Palace Antillas: Wonderful Time!

Very nice adult only hotel..... all staff were extremely pleasant and polite............ in particular, Paola, the beach towel lady! Very friendly and made you feel welcomed! Lovely view from our balcony in a Junior Suite, Oceanview...... Meals were exceptional, at buffet and a la carte restaurants.... particularly at Krystal. We had exceptional service there! Riu Palace Antillas: Beautiful surroundings and a big plus that it was adults only

The staff were courteous and friendly at all times. My husband lost his wallet and it was turned it to the front desk with all his ID and our vacation cash. A waiter found it in the buffet restaurant and took it to the front desk. We will definitely be going back!!!!

Riu Palace Antillas: A Great Resort. Don't believe the detractors.

Although it is a little aged, (used to be a Westin Hotel), it is clean and well maintained. The rooms are of good size but be sure to get one on the left side (facing the ocean), or you will be looking out on the Riu Palace Aruba and down on the top of a building. The food was very good, the beach beautiful. A little too loud at the pool (music wise). The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Anything that need repair is done so promptly. The Island is easy to get around. I highly suggest a [... read more] Jeep rental but not through the rentals posted in the lobby. Ask one of the bell hops at the entrance and they will hook you up with local rentals which are $ 135.00/USD instead of $175.00/USD. The jeeps are not brand new, but the good thing is that you won't have to worry about dents and scratches. Be forewarned, the East side of the Island is not lit at night, so go there first or you run the risk of getting lost in the dark on your way back. Also, there are very few street signs out the East Coast but the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Good thing is,if you get lost, the locals are very helpful and most everyone, if not everyone, speaks English.Shopping ranges from very reasonable to outrageous. It all depends what you want to spend. I highly recommend a trip to Aruba if you have never been. Many visitors return year after year. It is more pricey that other Caribbean destinations, but it is well worth they money. "One Happy Island" is not a hoax. Tripcentral, specifically Wendy Harrington, were very helpful and professional. I would book with her again in a heartbeat.

Tamarijn Beach Resort: Right on the beach!

We had a wonderful stay with our 4 year old daughter. Our room on the 1st floor allowed us to walk out on the beach. We enjoyed the buffets and the restaurants especially the Mexican themed one. Hotel staff were extremely helpful. The island is one of the loveliest in the Caribbean. If you venture to the grocery store off the resort, the IGA one is cleaner and better stocked.

Barcelo Aruba: Great Resort

This was our 5th visit to Aruba and this "all inclusive" resort. It was previously the Occidental Grand and just recently changed to a Barceló resort. We have always booked the "Royal Club/Level" which allows access to the Royal Level lounge where breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered a la carte. It also includes priority check in on the 9th floor, name brand liquor for drinks and priority reservations at the four specialty restaurants and a concierge service to assist you during your s [... read more]tay. Meals can still be had at all the buffets if desired. The hotel has been going through some upgrades and the bar area was enlarged and now has a lot of seating and a large dance floor area where there is live music nightly. The casino was removed from the hotel but they are setting up a small area with some slot machines in the bar area. There are casinos available at all the other hotels on the strip. The rooms have always been very clean and seem to be getting some upgrades. The shower heads were upgraded to rain shower heads with an added shower head for the front of your body. The only downside might be that rooms that have the shower in the bathtub might be difficult for older guests to climb into as the side seems very high. As with other resorts there is always a first come first served system for lounges around the pool and at the beach. The first come seem to go out very early in the morning to reserve their lounges. If you don't mind paying for a lounge (with an umbrella or palapas for shade) there are vendors on the beach by the hotel who allow you to reserve lounges each day. We have done this each year as you really need the shade as the sun is very hot! The hotel is situated in an area which is very nice for walking out at night. There are lots of restaurants and touristy type shopping. The casinos in the other hotels are all easy walking distance and at the back of the hotels on the beach side there is a walkway that is lit up and you can walk along the back of the hotels at night. Oranjestad is a short bus ride from the high rise hotel area. All in all we have been very happy at this resort and plan to return again next year.

Riu Palace Antillas: Fantastic hotel and holiday

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort. Staff amd accommodations were truly remarkable . Grounds and pools were amazing and relaxing . Food was five star quality . Beach was clean and breathtaking sunsets .

Riu Palace Antillas: Truly One Happy Island

This hotel provided the superior consistency expected of a Riu Palace. It is a converted Weston, and our room, while nice, was somewhat tired. Moreover, some of the public washrooms were also in need of upgrade. There were noticeable modernizations in most of the restaurants and bars. The beach was well maintained; however, the umbrellas in the pool area were few and far between

We did enjoy ourselves, although we did not enjoy the food. We went off the resort for dinner, which was excellent. Great friendly staff. We liked the evening towel service too. Beautiful well maintained beach and the gym was in great condition. Thank you

Riu Palace Antillas: Amazing Resort!

This resort was very clean, and the food was delicious;lots of variety! The rooms could use a little updating but they were clean and comfortable. The beach and pool were fantastic and the drinks were amazing! Would have loved a bar on the beach. The staff were all very friendly and lots of fun. We enjoyed talking with them. Had an awesome time at the Riu Antillas in Aruba!

Riu Palace Antillas: LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food was really good. The staff is very friendly. The beach and pool were beautiful. (The pool could have been a bit warmer though) We rented a jeep for the day. I really recommend this. We were able to go wherever we wanted and it was super easy to get around.

Riu Palace Aruba: Escape to paradise!

My husband and I were at The RiuPalace Aruba January 14-21/17 for our honeymoon. The resort was absolutely amazing! Our room was very clean and we were very impressed with the size. The fully stocked bar with full size premium alcohol was awesome! All of the restaurants on the resort were great. We didn't have any meal that we didn't enjoy! The staff were very friendly and helpful, although I would have liked a little more of personality from all of the pool bartenders. They were extremely bor [... read more]ing and didn't interact with the guests. :( The beach was amazing as well. The Rui Palace is so close to Palm Beach we could walk there everyday. I would highly recommend staying at this resort we would definitely stay there again!

Riu Palace Antillas: Awesome vacation!

We had an amazing vacation at the Riu Palace Antillas! The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas were updated modern design. The rooms require total renovation to match the 5 star rating of this Riu hotel resort. The a-la-carte Steakhouse restaurant offered an excellent steak however the ambiance was lacking. We liked the fact that we could visit the adjoining Riu Palace Aruba and use all of their facilities except the a-la-carte restaurants.The powder white beach is awesome although  [... read more]the water was not clear during our stay. There are also some gorgeous beaches within a relatively short distance. There is a beautiful boardwalk that runs all along the resort strip. The sunsets each evening are beautiful and relaxing.

Tamarijn Beach Resort: Fantastic Time, Great Resort!!!

My wife returned recently from a week away at the Tamarijn Beach Resort. We were referred there by another couple and it was exactly as they described to us. Riu Palace Antillas: Not a Palace...don't be fooled!!!

This hotel is advertised as Riu Palace....but it is old and dated! The rooms are old, dark and have an old, moldy smell. Everything is dated. We were told that this was the first hotel built in Aruba and even some of the workers admit that it should not bear the title "palace". On our second to last day there, it rained very heavily and there were leaks everywhere. It seemed that there were sewage leaks because the smell near the elevators was unbearable and guests had to hold their noses. St [... read more]aff had to keep mopping up in front of the elevators. The rooms have balconies but you cannot leave the door open because the floor became so wet that you keep slipping. We had to keep mopping up the floors with towels. It was either cold A/C or wet floors. There is a customer service manager who is very useless. He just dresses up on evenings and walks through the dining room. Don't waste your time trying to tell him anything. He is all smiles and very inefficient. The only thing good about this hotel is the staff. Some of the food was good. Long lines to the Steak Restaurant. Very inefficient . Sometimes after lining up for a long time you still did not get a table. Just not up to the standard of a Riu Palace.

Riu Palace Antillas: Rui Palace Antillas ,Aruba

Excellent service and super staff.The activities are good lots of variety in meals.Recommend Crystal Room for dinner.No reservation , but get there by 6:30 p.m. need to work on that.You get a buzzer while walking around.Buffet plenty of selections .Rooms clean and they are quick to fix anything.Beach clean and great place for adults to go.Nicest people .Would go again.

Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort: Wonderful oasis!

Everything about this resort was exceptional. From the very start with our concierge, Madeline, who made our week possible! Thank you so much! Our room was very clean and comfortable with champagne, crackers and cheese left for our anniversary! The breakfast buffet was wonderful; everything fresh and tasty. The beach was the best; beautiful blue water and soft, white sand. An added bonus was having enough lounge chairs, spaced strategically apart, for everyone to enjoy the ocean view! We especia [... read more]lly enjoyed our "romantic dinner" on the beach through the restaurant " Elements". Our meal was delicious and our waiter, Chris, was very pleasant and attentive!! "Carte Blanche" was an amazing experience all on its own! A wonderful vacation all around!

Barcelo Aruba: Great resort

The Occidental Grand was a good hotel for the most part. Visually, it was very beautiful. The pool was great but the hot tub was more like a warm tub. The beach was not at its best because a hurricane was nearby so there was a lot of seaweed and mucky water. Obviously not the hotels fault. They did do a good job at cleaning up the seaweed as quickly as possible though. I traveled with a group of 10 and everyone's room was beautiful. It was only my room that had some minor issues such as the lock [... read more] on the door stopped working twice so we had to call security to come and fix it. The 2nd time they came,  they changed the battery so it didn't happen anymore. Also, we didn't have hot water in our room. We had to call maintenance on two separate occasions to get them to fix it. The cleaning ladies were great. They did a good job on our room everyday and nothing went missing. Some days they came very late though. Around 4pm but not a big deal. Almost all of the staff were extremely helpful all of the time and always had a smile on their faces. They gave my group free upgraded rooms and wifi. Out of everyone there, I only found that 2 of the bartenders were miserable but the rest of the bartenders were awesome. The only real complaint I would make towards the staff is when my group of 10 rented jeeps to tour the island, we spoke to the front desk a day prior and they said they would pack us lunches and to come get them the next morning before we departed for our adventure. Well that morning when we went to get them the front desk said "sorry they forgot". So from 8am until 7pm most of my group didn't eat because they couldn't fathom spending money on the ridiculously overpriced food. But to top it off, that same night we had an A La Carte booked for Japanese to do the cooking show and our reservation somehow magically got canceled in the system. We didn't get our lunches. We didn't get our cooking show. We still ate in the restaurant but they weren't prepared for us so the food was overcooked. The waiting service was bad and the manager didn't even offer us something complementary for all of our troubles that they created. Other than that everything else was great. Italian and Mexico were fabulous. The Seafood restaurant was just okay. Overall we had a great week. We made friends with other happy travelers and played lots of volleyball in the pool. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
