Ocean Coral and Turquesa is well laid out. It is easy to get around. The four pools run from North to South along the Caribbean Sea. We stayed at Privilege and had access to the fourth pool - adults only. The Privilege Lounge is lovely but the service is rather slow. Our butler, Carlos, was very helpful and assisted us with booking an Uber to go to Puerto Morelos. He also made all the restaurant bookings for us.The suites are spacious and comfy with a beautiful bathroom with a private toilet, la[... read more]rge shower area and a separate bathtub. We were unfortunate and had a few days of cold, windy weather. Other than that, I'd recommend this hotel.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Simply the best!
The Paradisus La Perla was an amazing resort! Such a high-end beautiful and luxurious resort, with such an incredible tropical nature feel. The beach is scrumptious! The food is gourmet (including amazing gluten free options expertise and care) and very high quality. The best part is the staff; they go way above and beyond to ensure you are enjoying your stay. We will be doing a more detailed review on a couple of other platforms, but in one line, this place knocked it out of the park! Kudos to [... read more]all of the amazing staff. Grand Oasis Riviera: Very Relaxing and Quiet Resort
First of all we want to thank Beth for all her help with booking our group of 10, she was absolutely amazing!!
The Resort was super quiet but nice if you were looking for a relaxing getaway, which we were. We got to stay in the new building furthest from the beach but the rooms were WOW! We had a pool directly off our bottom floor Terrance with our own Sun beds and 4 layout chairs. We had a few issues with the rooms but very quickly fixed up, but we were the first ones staying here. Super cl[... read more]ean, had our own private pool and a full bar which was nice considering we were the farthest from buffet and main pool, but we didn't use the main pool once.
All the staff were amazing, some had a bit of a language barrier but very quick to get out google translator and we were good to go!
Beach had a lot of coral which wasn't the best for swimming but the guys loved the snorkeling they did. Also a lot of moss on beach.
The food and drinks were both top notch, we went to Italian and Mexican restaurants and both were very good. Mike's Coffee bar had amazing iced coffees too
We didn't book adult only but we felt as though we did, our pool was perfect and having a bar and pool directly outside your room was a bonus.
Our room numbers were 1116, 1117, & 1118 then we had one couple on second floor and one on third, same building.
If you go for beach, I would choose a different resort but if you just want to relax at the pool ask for the first building.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Paradisus La Perla - A Piece of Heaven
A pristine hotel/resort with well manicured grounds, friendly and helpful staff from the personal concierge to the housekeeping team.
Excellent food and wait staff in the buffet and all other restaurants. Numerous food choices - delicious and presented very well.
Rooms are well appointed and the swim out was an added luxury. Nightly entertainment offered different genres for every taste.
Reserve pool was nice and quiet while main pool was more lively.
Walked the beach every day and swam in t[... read more]he ocean - white powdery sand and crystal clear waters . Some pockets of sargassum here and there but hotel maintenance team were on top of it.
Gym is well equipped.

Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: Stay away
Where to start... Hotel staff only provided one key for our 2 bedroom because it's "policy", not any policy I've seen before. They also tried to charge us again for breakfast we paid for in our package once we got to the hotel. There also is no gym as advertised, and pool is smaller than you'd think. Pool shower is not clean and has no water pressure. Their cleaning standards are VERY low! The floor in our (spoiler alert) first room were sandy, the room smelled sandy and wet as well. The glass i[... read more]n the shower was not clean, and all the bathroom hardware, including the toilet paper holder was riddled with limestone. More terrible water pressure with a rusted shower head. Some of the lights were busted and the TVs only had 2 channels. Very spotty wi-fi as well. Safes in the hotel are also all broken. Water in the toilet bowl was not clear, it was a light yellow still don't know what that's about. When we asked staff if all the rooms were like that, they said nothing was wrong with the rooms. They moved us a room over, and it was basically more of the same but at least all the lights worked. There was still hair in the shower from a previous use and the shower head was pointed towards the entrance of the shower so every time we used it, it made a mess. Since they also have no carpet, they just put towels on the floor. Hope you have slippers cause your feet will turn black walking around your own tiny room. The place is right off fifth ave, so it is very loud and there was also a horn going off like every hour, we never figured out what it was. Also the doors are not flush to the ground and we found salamanders in our rooms more than once.
Would only recommend this place to people I hate. Best thing that happened was nobody stealing our stuff. Avoid at all costs!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Fantastic Resort
Loved everything about this resort. Travelled with another couple and we could not come up with one complaint. The best part of our stay was that there is no need to get up early to save seats at the beach or pool. Lots of lounges available even at 9:00am.
This resort offers everything and more! The food, entertainment, pools, waterslides, wave pool, activities, landscaping, wildlife and staff are all amazing! The drinks are delicious and the buffets have so many choices! We are going back for the 3rd time!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great time
My wife And I along with my son and his girlfriend just stayed here last week. Overall we have a great time, the food was good, the staff were all excellent. We would go down for breakfast and comeback and our room was already cleaned. Never had any issues with our rooms. Pretty cool to see the wild monkeys along the path to the beach. They never ran out of anything during our stay. For the negative, they really don’t have much of a beach area for lounging, and the chairs down by the pool that [... read more]over looks the beach are taken up really early. Booking the a la carte are a big of a pain to book in you have to go down super early and stand inline to book each day or login and try and get one. I do highly suggest going to both of the Xcaret parks, can say what a great time they both are. Xplor has the zip lines and many other things to do from caves to seeing a variety of animals.
Food labels for the buffet would have been better then having the chief come out and show my wife what she could eat. As she has celiac.
But they did accommodate every meal for her.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Absolutely amazing Resort
We loved everything about this resort. We were fortunate enough to be put in The Colonial section (Jalisco Bldg). I can’t even think of anything negative to write. After 10 days I guess the buffets felt a bit repetitive.. but that being said you never went hungry and could always find something you liked. No one likes a hot soup on a hot day but their home made daily soups were amazing. The ala carts were fabulous.. the drink service ladies were awesome.. the pools clean and the swim up bar sta[... read more]ff awesome. Just everything about it was exceptional. It is a huge resort tho and we did venture out .. but we stayed in our section for the most part. I would highly recommend to anyone

The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos: Really great!
This spot was really great... some things to keep in mind:
- Like almost everywhere else, we needed to go out at 7am to reserve beach loungers, otherwise, they would be all taken up for the dat
- Since there is no buffet and everything is a la carte, you need to assume you'll be sitting in a restaurant for about 1hr-2hrs every meal, service isn't particularly fast
- Breakfast and Lunch are great !!! (like on par with western restaurants) dinner lacks slightly. Keep that in mind...
- Room s[... read more]ervice is $5 USD (delivery fee) but if you are on the all-inclusive package, that's all you pay, the food is included!
- Only about 30 min drive from cancun airport (if you make no stops)
- there are definitely kids at the resort, but isn't overly young kids friendly in the sense that there isn't much for kids to do (in my opinion) since there are only two small pools, and the rooftop one is adults only
Overall, you are paying more for a boutique experience, but do keep all these points in mind...aside from those points, it was fantastic! 4.5 overall from me!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: What an Amazing Resort
This trip was booked by my daughter for them and there two girls and both sets of grandparents. I read reviews about it before leaving and was not sure what to expect. But upon arrival it was a beautiful sight to see from check in to check out, we were met with the most kindness and polite people I have ever met including the grounds keepers. the resort is beautiful and very big I have never been to a resort with such big pools and beautiful surroundings. Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Beautiful Stay
We had a great 10 days at this resort - very clean - hardworking staff - very large and spacicous room - beautiful views everywhere !
If you love a beach, this is not the place for you - very rocky - one small section near the perferred pool to go in on sand - we did see some kayaks later in the week going out by the family pool, but I think it's based on the tide.
Food was good everywhere - never had to wait for a table, we generally went for dinner around 5:30 - 6 Property is [... read more]a great size, not long walks to anything - grounds beautiful
Preferred pool was great - Melvin and his team did a great job of making sure everyone had a seat - there was quite a bit of saving chairs the first week, but I guess a lot of people left after Family day and you could get a chair anywhere anytime.
Lovely resort and would recommend

Grand Oasis Riviera: Beyond expectations
This hotel seems as though it was plopped down in the center of the jungle. There is plenty of trees, flowers and wildlife to keep you entertained.
Our oom was exceptional. First ones in it as it had been newly built. It had all amenities a person would want. His and hers sinks. Toilet separate from the shower which was huge. Out on our patio was our own personal cabana and a pool we shared with 4 other rooms. Outsode of that was the pool for the building and the bar with bartender from the ho[... read more]urs of 10 - 6.
It was about a 7 minute walk to get to the restaurants. However for us that was just walking off all the food we over ate.
Paths were well lit with lots of fountains. There is a cart that can be called to pick you up if you prefer that. The restaurants had delicious and well prepared foods in both Mexican tradition and European tastes. If you can't find something you like there is always salads, fruit, parfaits, and fresh bread and rolls. The store at the hotel is well stocked with the things we tend to forget about when you are packing. The staff was happy to help, they know customer service. If you need a pick me up stop by the coffee shop. They serve an amazing variety. Try to taste them all. You will also find football and pool tables to keep you entertained The main pool has the kids zone and the taco bar. Dont leave your food unattended the Coati like to steal food if you are not careful.
The beach you should be prepared for. There is a lot of reef and rocks to walk around. Take your swim shoes. The staff warned us about urchins as well. Once you get out into that warm and beautiful water you will see all types of aquatic life. Take a snorkel. It is an amazing sight. One we are happy we experienced.
Our main downfall other then coming home was not being able to find the sunwing/nexus representative. The hotel has blended the sens and the oasis into one and there are 2 lobbies. We found out the day before we left that the representative is not allowed past the gate and is using a part of the building where u get dropped off at. That is a lobby as well. Our concern was if the representative was needed we couldn't find them. Even the employees at the hotel would not inform you where he/she was.
The airport was chaos when we landed but the departure was much better organized.
The drive from Cancun is long, be prepared. Overall we loved our stay. To us it was 5 star.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Fabulous Resort
We choose Grand Sirenis because of the beach, pools and Lazy River. The staff, food and room always exceeds our expectations. We also enjoy looking at the wildlife on site. The night and daytime entertainment are great. We watched the fire show on the beach and the Lion King at the theatre. We spent our days on the beach and they had Valentines Day entertainment one day and a fabulous 3 piece band another day. We also enjoyed swimming in the ocean and snorkeling. Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort but getting sick blew it
The resort is a beauty, super clean. We were Diamond Club. The room was great and all worked, plenty of hot water, fridge restock daily, room cleaned perfectly except the day off of the regular cleaner. We were in block 17 7th floor and the view was fantastic. Our Butler Jhonny was great but I felt that we miss some information as we were 8 and in 4 different rooms and there was not much informations regarding directions to places. The check in was LONG over one hour, yes we had drinks and food [... read more]at the check in but it took a long time to get to our rooms.
The resort is great but they need to change their beach towel rules and stop the chairs reservations with the towels. This was a big issue for the none Diamond Club. In the Diamond club area we always had chairs available.
Pools were great, drinks at the pools were also great specially at the Diamond club pool.
Food was good to my taste at the Italian restaurant, the Buffet but we went to the Cave one night and did not find the food good.
The beach is great we were surprise we could walk it pass our resort with no concern.
Here is my main issue, we were a group of 16 12 adults anf 4 childrens. All was well until we went to the Japaneese ZEN Hibachi style restaurant. 12 of the adults had dinner there and 6 of us got extremly sick the next day, 5 did not have the energy to get out of the room. I was the brave one going for my walk and ended up tthrowing up 5 times at the Diamond Club pool in front of multiple resort employees and No one came to help me.
We my wife and I travel multiple time yearly and never have I been so sick. The good thing is it last like 12 hours in my case.
Once the butler found out I was sick he came to see if he could do anything for me but it was too late. 2 more of the group got sick during the return home in the plane.
Resort is one of the nicest I have seen but they have issues with the FOOD and Nora Virus that hit nearly every groups that are there.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Good resort, enjoyed out time.
This is our second time going to the Barcelo Mayan resort as we were there in 2018 for the Luke Bryan Crash My Playa and it hasn't changed much since. The resort is kept clean and maintained to a certain point but the more you look the more you see broken or well used items. As it is such a huge resort the maps available in the resort or online are terrible, you can easily get turned around or lost and also having multiple staff tell you a particular restaurant or place in the resort was totally[... read more] incorrect and have you running around getting frustrated. The buffets were good and the a la carte restaurants were very good, we especially loved the Tokyo and Capri restaurants!
On average the staff were pleasant but encountered more staff that didn't attempt to understand what you were asking and also would not look at you even after saying good morning or hello...
Air Transat had it classified as a 5 star but I would say it is more of a 3.5 to 4 star.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Holiday
We loved the hotel. The restaurant were amazing. Beds were very comfy. But I would recommend that they have better maps to locate the different restaurants.
Steve has been amazing and would recommend anyone to book with him. The resort and beach were beautiful. The staff very helpful. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this resort
