Barcelo Maya Tropical: Pool and Beach Chair Problem!

All chairs were gone very early. We were there 2 weeks Feb 8th to the 22 2025. The resort needs to fix the problem. The rest of the resort services were perfect. We enjoyed all 10 of our Ala carte dinners. Service was very good.

Allegro Cozumel: Terrific resort!

We truly enjoyed our time at Allegro Cozumel. All staff were so friendly, especially the staff at Santa Rosa (the premium level area). Premium was worth the extra money: rooms closer to the beach and away from noise of night theatre and disco, access to Santa Rosa where we ate breakfast and lunch many days (less selection than the bigger buffets but more than enough to suit us AND in an air conditioned building) and a nice private pool/beach area with bar service. We also played cards in the [... read more]re a couple of nights, with AC and bar service. Fast and easy check in and they'll assist with your a la carte bookings. Oriental restaurant was so fun, we went twice! Henri and Carlos made us specialty coffees in the main buffet at dinner and Henri also treated us to Bananas Foster...yummy! Grounds are very well kept, rooms are on the smaller side but ours was very clean, AC worked well and we always had hot water & good water pressure. They also made different towel art each day in our rooms. Buffet food was average and sometimes only warm vs. hot, but always left full. Different dinner themes each night. We tried all of the a la carte restaurants. Definitely the Oriental was our favourite, followed by the Mexican. The Italian was good as well. We booked this resort based on it being one of the only affordable options in Cozumel and we would definitely return. Had some concerns based on some reviews we read but we really had no issues at all. Its location is great with beautiful ocean views, beach and sunsets. We will go back for sure!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful, spacious resort!

What an absolute fantastic resort. This is our second time to the Barcelo Maya Tropical and it once again did not disappoint. It is even bigger than before. It has so much to do, fantastic shopping mall and so many individual vendors that sell everything you're looking or even not looking for, whatever your budget. The beach/pools are very clean and well maintained, you can see the staff constantly cleaning every aspect of the resort. There is an on site scuba resort (Dressel Divers), dolphin tanks, water slides, go-carts, surfing pool, gym, spa and the list goes on and on..... We loved our stay and would highly recommend the Barcelo Maya to anyone who is looking for a fantastic visit to Mexico.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great place to stay

We just returned from our trip to Huatulco which we booked thru trip central with Erin Thunder who helped us with the entire booking process, which she was amazing to deal with. We stayed at the Barcelo which was all common areas and rooms were very clean and well kept. The food was great we tried all food areas offered during our stay and it offered a great selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay there again in the future...it is a great location and will use trip central to book our return. Huatulco has the best weather we experienced and hotel didn't let us down at all.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful time at Barcelo Maya

We stayed at this resort for two wonderful weeks and had an amazing time here. Everything went smoothly from check in to check out. All the staff we dealt here were very helpful, friendly and professionally. We ate at the buffets with plenty of options to choose from and food was always hot and tasty. We also ate at all the a la carte restaurants and enjoyed everyone of our meals. Our room was very nicely decorated in traditional Mexican charm. We enjoyed our time at the beach and the pools with just enough fun activities happening there. We found the loungers to be the most comfortable and plenty of pool towels. We would recommend this resort to our family and friends.

Allegro Playacar: Beautiful beach

This hotel was exactly what my 18-year old and I needed, amazing beach and ocean access, good food and drinks and entertaining shows at night. Unfortunately, two of the three restaurants were closed while we were there and if you look for anything to eat after 10pm, you are out of luck. The rooms are comfortable (two big beds) and we were lucky to be right in the middle between the main restaurant and the beach. Also, if you look for a little shopping, Playa Del Carmen is an easy 20 minute beach walk away with lots of shops and restaurants. The shows were great and the staff was very friendly. I would go back because of the beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere.

Occidental Cozumel: Great Resort

The resort grounds/ gardens were gorgeous! It felt like you were in a botanical garden. We stayed in the Royal section which has its own pool and restaurant, which is amazing if you want a quiet area to relax! The royal restaurant was truly amazing! The seafood restaurant in our opinion should be the best restaurant in the resort as it is on the Ocean!! The buffet restaurant had a good variety of food but we found it very noisy and often waited for an outside table for this reason. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach was adequate, however needs some palapa or umbrellas!!! All of the staff were very helpful and pleasant! We never felt like we were putting them out by requesting anything! We would definitely return to this resort!! We would pay the extra for the Royal section as the restaurant and restaurant staff were amazing!!!!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Feb 2025 Wonderful!

Great location, excellent food, superb service, beautiful pools, nice beach… really nice! Ocean was warm and perfect temperature for swimming and snorkeling. Easy to get to Tulum and to Playa del Carmen.

Its functional layout is seamless from the doorstep of your amazing rooms -we had the garden view facing the back, which was very quiet and private with a Jacuzzi which all rooms have on a huge deck. The massive infinity pools are so impressive, like I’ve never seen before. The Hydro spas available in the outdoor pools are more than enough plenty of space and loungers. The service is impeccable very professional, especially in the buffet. The food is absolutely divine, fresh fruit daily Mangos, Papayas, Chinese Pomegranate! Rabbit, Turkey, Lamb , Beef tenderloin - International cuisine, and gluten free offerings. A high level of quality, very clean and well presented. The a la carte Restaurants provide a variety of choices with authentically tasty dishes served in charming, and modern decor. The Bars are top shelf. The staff are excellent - professional! They go over and above to please you)and speak English even though my Spanish is decent). It is the best place for the value I’ve ever stayed at in Mexico and we will definitely return and, recommend it to my friends and family. (Next time will try to fly out of the new Tulum airport, as it is closer with less traffic) but still worth the drive to this oasis regardless. You don’t have to leave - relaxation is key here. Barcelo Maya Palace: 5 times a charm

This Was our 5th time at this resort . 10 out of 10 on everything . I can’t say 1 bad thing about the place. If you’re looking for perfection this is it!. We enjoy the beach and spent 10 days there, swimming with sea turtles

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Can't wait to go back!

By far, one of the best all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at. The grounds were immaculate, room was well appointed with one of the biggest beds we've ever seen, pool was huge with good service, loved the beach and the food was at the buffet and a la cartes was so good. Lobby bar was a good place for a night cap. Staff were always kind and quick to help. The stay at 1, play at 6 concept is brilliant. Royal Hideaway Playacar: Best beach ever

Yes best beach ever. Lots of chairs and all of them have covers and/or umbrellas. Food was great but making dinner reservations was chaos and terribly unorganized. Concierges were totally useless but wait staff and bartenders were excellent. Rooms were large and well maintained.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing Resort

Absolutely amazing resort . The service was amazing. The la carts were easy to booked . Some of areas were rocky recommend water shoes . The chairs on beach and pool side are hard to find. Only complaint I have.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Barcelo Palace Riviera Maya Grand Resort

The hotel was great. Clean, beautiful grounds, the rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will absolutely recommend this hotel and will be back! We had a wedding at the palace and everything worked out. Was a bit annoying that with our party size of 13 people, restaurants did not have us sit together… we were always separated

Occidental Caribe: Beautiful Resort & Best Beach!

Honest review. Staff was friendly, food was an abundance in the buffet and all staff were accommodating our group of 6 for a table together. We were there for 10 days and arrived on a Wednesday. We booked ala carte's on the Thursday with hardly a line up and could only book what was available. They apparently reset for ala carte's on Sundays which I went downstairs same time (7am) and the line up was huge. The rooms are very outdated but were clean and we had no complaints as we spent very little time in our room. The beds were comfortable but the pillows could be upgraded. There are 4 floors with elevators however still a lot of walking so for those who have difficulty with this I would ask for a room close to the elevator. We were in building 7 on the 3rd floor (7321). We had the quiet side however just a peak of the beach. My cousin had room 7410 (4th floor, building 7 room 10). Their view was fantastic. Beach & pools. Casino was really small but we won $100. We would go back as the price was right.

Occidental Tucancun: Good resort

Hotel is old and dated but was clean. The beach was great, the 3 pools well maintained. The service is good. The food was good but small buffet and limited selection. The 3 a la carte restaurant was good. I would rate overall 7 out 10.

Barcelo Huatulco: Bad Experience

Let’s start with the positive Great Beach, rooms are clean. The rest is all negative the food was terrible. Drinks were awful unable to get any premium drinks unless you pay for the premium package. Not enough sun beds! If you get to the pool or beach around 8:00am you can forget getting any lounger as they are all reserved. Buffet was absolutely awful always out of ketchup plus long line ups for food. Almost impossible to get a bottle of water. Used the gym asked for a bottle as you only get 2  [... read more]bottles in your room was met with a really rude person with attitude, wanting us to drink from dispensers that have been sitting out in 30 degree weather. NO THANK YOU!! Since when is water bottles not included this is a disgrace Barcelo should be embarrassed and ashamed

Barcelo Huatulco: Did not meet expectations

The beach, ocean, and weather were great! The sand was coarse and difficult to walk along because of the steep slope but it was a beautiful cove. The rooms were nice, beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower was always hot, and housekeeping did a good job. BUT had to wake up at 6:30am each day just to get a chair under the shade on the beach. Not enough shade or chairs near the pool or the beach, it was an absolute headache. Tired to get some at the gym and at the bars but only got dirty looks and apparently no one speaks English when you need something there. The buffet was terrible our first night (it was Mexican night) and we went to bed hungry. Breakfast and lunch buffets were hit and miss, sometimes good but never consistent and always seemed like they were running out of food and options. The restaurants had good service and better food but we ended up going across the street for dinner at the restaurant because the dinner buffets were never great. Booked a boat ride around lunch at the water activities center and when we showed up at 4pm, the employee actually said he didn’t feel like going out, and that it was too much work to set up the boats. Two days before it was too busy, the day before it was too windy. This was our last full day there and we left disappointed.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Resort

The hotel is beautiful kept super clean and the staff are so friendly. The downside is there is not much to do at night. Night club opens late and the piano bar is only for an hour! The rooms are damp and a bit smelly! The beds are super comfy! Bring your snorkel gear. There are plenty of fish and sea turtles to be seen.

Barcelo Solymar: Amazing resort

Terril & Ken we there at the barcelo solymar Jan. 21 to Feb. 4, 2025. This is our third time at the resort. All the staff is friendly & very helpful they try their best all the time. We had a wonderful time met lots of fun nice people. We stayed in the bungalows very nice spot very quiet beautiful hedge with red flowers leading to your spot.
