Brisas Del Caribe: not so amazing resort

Although very clean the Bathrooms were average at best. No paper no toilet seats urinals not working and toilet stalls closed not working. A large Carter restaurants only 2 were available when we were told we could have three. Hot tub closed all 7 days and nobody even tried working on it. A/C in our first room did not work had to change rooms. FOOD was the worst I had in the last 20 years of travelling. Temperature of food was not a concern for them.6 people in our group and 5 got sick from food [... read more], I could go on for ever but in finishing I would not recommend this resort till they start to care about guests and start to fix it up. Its in direct need of an overhaul.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Some good and some not-so-good

I had a great time on my vacation. The food was great, and the entertainment was really good. The beach was awesome, and the vendors that are always around weren't pushy. The Steakhouse was fabulous, and worth the long wait to get in. The drinks were yummy too :) However, the front desk staff and housekeeping are terrible. It took us almost 2 hours to check in. The housekeeping staff didn't receive a single tip from us all week, because the room was never actually cleaned...just beds made and s [... read more]ometimes we got new towels, and other times we had none at all. As far as recommending the resort to others...I would recommend it for groups of friends who just want to party...it is a lot of fun there. But bring your own beach towel.

Brisas Del Caribe: Basic but clean, great beach

This resort was basic as we expected. It was clean and the rooms are not very nice (bathroom was updated) but the bed was comfortable, the food was edible and the beach was great. I like a smaller resort as it's easy to get around. Lobby staff were not helpful and not honest - most of the rest of the staff were great - very friendly. They ran out of beach towels most days. There wouldn't be enough good beach chairs if it was busy. The shower water was 'warm', never hot. Our room smelled a bit mu [... read more]sty/damp and like smoke but was clean except for the stained bath mat. The 24hr 'snack bar' had only 4-5 things on the menu and they weren't great so had to make sure we got food at the buffets. The beach grill burgers were good but it always closed early and dinners don't start until 7pm. The a la carte restaurants were good and a nice break from the boring buffet food (which I'm told is just Cuba). The bathrooms were not well-maintained and ran out of paper sometimes. Overall, for the price you got some value and if you're not too picky I would recommend this resort. Others I was with enjoyed it more than I did - nice but nothing special.

Brisas Del Caribe: Not going back!

The food was not great! The grounds were nice! Rooms were not very nice! Pillows Sucked! Loved the barista bar, beach bar and lobby bar were great! We stayed in the main building which was I think the only place to stay. I am sure if the weather was better it would have helped for a better vacation. The staff that ran all the activities by the pool were amazing! The entertainment was wonderful! The lineups for lunch and dinner were too long. Grand Oasis Palm: Child Friendly

Beautiful place not spread out.5 year 4year n 2month old,children you can let them run and know there is no escape. bonus kids club ,Acomidates till 10 pm.Free......The ocean is the bay and water is worm n calm.Pirate ship pool is bonus for children althow youre expected to stay close.Food is gormay, Thanks to Gus n the team,Rooms are impecable clean.Staff is caring n considerate too others and go above n beyond to keep you safe.I will Return.God Bless...

This was our second time to this resort, the first being 2 years ago so there were no surprises. The good; The beach is as good as it gets in Varadero, 5 stars here. The food is typical Cuban. Plenty of it and very short wait time for food cooked on the spot. Staff were friendly after you got to know them but they didn't go out of their way. The pool is ok about the size you would expect on a small resort. The bad; The resort is small and old. It's seen better days. They are doing up grades like new pavers around the pool and entertainment areas and while we were there they were replacing all the TV's The food is typical Cuban, bland and usually not very hot. The bars were constantly out of "stuff" I.e. The lobby bar, "Le Mojito" could not make Mojitos must evenings because the were out of mint. For some reason that I don't get. They don't pay attention to the little details. I could give numerous examples but one small one... They usually didn't but the lights on on the long halls on the back of our building (#4 near the lobby) so we were constantly walking to our room and entering in the dark. I could go on but this is a 3 star so you get what you pay for. I'd go back. The beach is fantastic, you can get anywhere in a few minutes, the food is ok. We didn't need 6 or 22 a la carte's. The beer was cold and free. And the rooms were clean but tired.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: too big of a resort

Our room was badly situated 2142 view of the city. Saturday the club in town had a huge party it was loud til about 3AM. On a daily basis you can hear a dog bark, horns, cars, firetruck even heard 2 gun shot. Public was allowed on resort. The beach was across the street.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Very special place!

People are very friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing and the ocean and beach terrific. A place to add to your travels! Visited the ruins of Tulum and worth every penny! Terrif views, very good guide.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Nice and clean

We stayed here for 7 days and found it to be a clean well cared for resort.there was always something going on in the theatre at night. Staff , for most part was friendly and helpful.i did go to spa for a massage with Ninive who was wonderful. The only real complaint I had was I thought the Nori wet bar was to close to kids play and pool area as some people got a little out of hand with course language the more they drank

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Great Location

We just got back from Cuba and while the weather was not great, the rest of the vacation was terrific. This hotel is small and friendly with a predominately Italian clientele.The food was very good with lots of variety.The only minor downside was, the food was often cold despite being the first diners. These people work hard, always smile and definitely aim to please. The hotel manager(Italian) dressed in regular clothing and mingled with the guests so was on top of deficiencies. There have been many upgrades since our last visit to this hotel some of which include new comfortable beds/bedspreads, air conditioning units and bar fridges.There is constant cleaning and painting/repair work which in no way interfered with the enjoyment. Being close to downtown we took the bus or a vintage car cab a few times and even walked when we were feeling energetic. Holiday folks tend to smoke more so if you are sensitive to that there is lots of space to avoid it.The dining room is non smoking. Tipping seemed sparse by comparison to our last visit. Seems the Italian folks are less inclined to say thanks for the service with a few pesos. Our dollar is week so we got 6 and change CUCS for $10 CDN. The most beautiful beaches anywhere!!

Grand Oasis Palm: Bad Experience

I would just like to inform you of the experience we had at the GRAND OASIS PALM Cancun. It all started quite pleasant the plane was on time and we actually arrived a bit early. We used private transportation over to the resort and were there in a timely fashion then the gong show began, please be sure you allow a lot of time for the check in because it is a slow and laborious endeavor. We requested ground floor rooms and to be close to our traveling companions they had us on the 8th floor but a [... read more]fter some talking we were put on the third floor but our traveling companions had to change rooms the next day to accommodate our request no big deal. Thankfully we were put on the third floor because OMG the elevator service is horrendous we were stuck in the elevator on the first day then they were out of service for the rest of the that day, they are very slow and very small and a constant source of irritation to everyone at the resort but amazingly enough whenever you approached staff to complain they could no longer understand English (very frustrating). Enough about the elevators I could go on about them for pages (and none of it would be good) let’s talk about the food situation. We paid extra for the use of the grand side which is supposed to include the buffet but three days after arriving they decided to shut down the Buffet on the grand side for supper, because of this twice we had to stand more than an hour outside of the one buffet that was open out of the three on the resort waiting for room to eat, one of these times we had to stand in the rain now that is more than a frustrating experience. They also decided at Aguava's restaurant to start demanding you make reservations for meals this was previously a no reservation required restaurant the explanation for this was because there was only one buffet open their restaurant did not have a big enough kitchen to keep up to the high demand of people wanting to eat there, but its ok because the Oasis group once again saved some money at the expense of customer comfort and convenience by only having one of three buffets open and making people wait just keep in mind their theme is Oasis Loves You and I am glad they did because I would hate to see how they treat the people that they hate. The hamburger stand had no hamburger buns 2 days and no ketchup was an ongoing problem daily also to salt your fries they have a dish of salt on the counter and expect everyone to dip their fingers into it to get salt how about using a SALT SHAKER, you would not even do this at home let alone expect to see something so unsanitary at a 4+ star resort. We have been to three star Cuban resorts that put this 4+ star to shame for food quality and service and comfort. The food at the buffets was incredibly repetitive and not the best quality. On the Grand side that was only open for breakfast the toaster quit on day four and that was it no more toast the rest of our vacation. Now as far as comfort our pool was surrounded by nice wooden loungers the only problem was the chair pads that were worn right out now there is nothing more relaxing than lying on 2x4's with no or next to no padding, also none of the other chairs around the pool had a bit of padding on them either and were the cheap small white plastic chairs. The only padded furniture was a few beach beds that you had to pay an extra $350 Pecos’s per day to use. The adult only section constantly had children passing through getting the bartenders to make them non-alcoholic drinks and quite often pausing to cry and wine but this should be looked after by their parents but was not. We have traveled a fair bit and have to this point been lucky enough not to have ever stayed at an Oasis property but I thought with this being a SUNWING EXCLUSIVE they would have checked into the star rating and the property more but the one thing I am very sure of is they will never see me at another Oasis property and we have already started telling everyone we know about our experience and to be very cautious of Sunwing Exclusives, you would think they would spend more time evaluating a property before they tied their name along with it but I guess not these complaints were not just ours it was a very common complaint amongst many of the vacationers staying at this property. In closing my best suggestion to anyone thinking about staying here is really read the customer comments you will find a common thread between the bad comments they are the food, the elevators the lack of customer comfort the nickel and diming you for a safe and internet that should be a standard feature at this price level. Oasis you got us on this one but rest assured NEVER again.

Grand Oasis Sens: Relaxing Resort

Easy access to beach, great pools, good variety of restaurants and bars. Close to airport. Friendly staff. Lots of lounges at pools. On the downside, had to pay for wifi, and could only make one ala carte reservation per day.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Enjoyable Trip!

Clean room, friendly staff, refrigerator filled daily with beer and soft drinks, bottled water every day. Good AC. Beautiful view of ocean and garden. Food was ok. Alcoholic beverages were good. We loved the specialty restaurants especially the Gourmet Restaurant and Mexican Restaurant. Entertainment was lively (Michael Jackson Show, Brazilian and Dominican Shows, etc...) minor renovations throughout resort but mostly unnoticeable. Could get more lawn chairs both, in the Beach area and the Pool  [... read more]areas. One area which I believe could be dealt with is when tourists complain to staff, staff should avoid explaining or providing answers in the lobby. Tourists with complaints were somewhat loud and aggressive thus creating a stressful atmosphere to all of us present. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed this trip.

Brisas Del Caribe: Don't sweat the small things

Yes, there were some issues. With nine of us on a boys trip (seven in their 20s, plus two dads), we had four rooms. Water wasn't always hot in one room, toilet didn't work properly in another. Lack of toilet paper in the restrooms throughout the resort. Small things. But the fun factor has to count for something. So too does the resort staff. We had a terrific time in our vacation the first week of January. Met some amazing people from all over the world. Bartenders were awesome. For a change fr [... read more]om the buffet at lunch, try the grill, near the beach. Is the resort a five-star in quality? No. But the price is right. And, yes, I would go back.

Be Live Turquesa: A relaxing and pleasurable experience

The most memorable part of this resort was the staff. They were very warm, sincere, hard working and anxious to make my vacation as good as it could be. The grounds were impeccably maintained. We experienced some strong winds and rain one day, but within 24 hours all the fallen leaves were raked up and the place was spotless again. Entertainment was very good as well, with several talented live bands performing genuine Cuban music. I'd recommend Terquesa to anyone.

Be Live Turquesa: Amazing resort, amazing country

The resort and their staff were amazing. Cleaning lady was very impressive and the food was delicious! Looking forward to going there again ! The $5 bus tour was worth the experience. Also Havana is a must is when visiting Cuba. Its such a beautiful place, however, avoid people selling cigars independently on the streets, they take you in an excluded location and to me that's very sketchy! Other then that it's a beautiful place to go on a vacation.

Grand Oasis Palm: COMFORTABLE RESORT

The only thing we could complain about was the lack of beach chairs. Guests got up at 6 am just to be able to have a chair during the day. The beach is small but they could still fit some in. The ocean is great clear and no waves at all good for children. The food was very good Maki Taco great and La Bamba great seafood lunches. The standard room is large an the AC quiet. The staff are nice people and helpful. This was the only place we have stayed n Mexico where the Time Share People (Vacation  [... read more]Club) respected your wishes once you said you were not interested.. Therese Romero one of the sale persons actually got us chairs the first day. We thought she was Staff at the Hotel but she was a sales person and would not take a tip.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Beautifule Resort

Stayed at the Grand Oasis Tulum over christmas and new years. The reort is very beautiful but didn't realize how calm of a resort this is. We were always looking for things to do and had a problem once we got back. Had some pictures taken with a monkey and paid for 4 pictures and once we got home there were no pictures. The hotel is trying to recover these for us. I will rate it as a 4 star cause due to some mishaps the reort and staff were great

Grand Oasis Riviera: Not bad

Food was good lost of variation, service was excellent. The beach was awful not very big and not so clean. The building we were in had scorpions. Not much to do at that resort and you were far for everything you needed to take the bus or taxi gets expensive.

The staff at this resort is what makes it a great place to stay. It is a smaller resort, only room for 400 people. Great choices of food, main restaurant, or italian, cuban, or mexican. Get to make new friends all the time. They are building a gazebo for wedding at the pool. I have stayed here 3 times and would go back again.
