Allegro Cozumel: its a small size family and scuba diving oriented

If you are looking for a resort to go to with kid's. This one has mini water park and playground.the water sport centre is made for divers. You will see even kids walking with a air tank . Almost No intertainment .rent a car and explore island . Food is ok , plain with not much flavor. If you used to big resorts this is not the one to go to.

Occidental Punta Cana: Excellent LARGE resort (if you like that)

Loved everything about the resort it was just too big. Never got to meet the same people twice because of the size of the resort. Did not like the people who kept hassling us about the time share or preferred customers status.

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Average

This resort was just ok. Clean, the food was decent. The service was not great. The pool area was great and the drinks were yummy! The beach was different than we are used to with the black sand but not an issue for us. This resort is out in the middle of nowhere. You habe to take a boat or taxi to get to town. About $80 for both. You can also rent a car and split the cost with a few others to reduce costs. We went for two weeks to relax. All in all i would say mission accomplished. Occidental Punta Cana: Ok resort

Nice beach, nice room. Cleaning ladies very nice and friendly. Food was average, had much better in similirationaccomodations in the dr. Servers super super slow and not very accommodating. Paid for wirelless and it rarely worked.

Occidental Punta Cana: Excellent resort

Dated but still very nice , the rooms were very clean :) . The staff is very friendly and helpful , the grounds were picture perfect . The beach was really great and if you like to walk it goes on for miles

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Wonderful and relaxing vacation

We loved our time at the hotel and the adjoining Xcaret Park. It was a perfect break from the depths of winter! The food was great - the buffet had lots of healthy options, with plenty of choices for anyone adhering to a special diet (ie. dairy free, wheat free, etc.). The hotel room had everything we needed (though we joked that a new couple visiting the resort should probably be forewarned that the bathroom door is NOT soundproof at all!). The pool was great, with lots of available beach chai [... read more]rs and easy access to the bars. We also really enjoyed the on-site archery/gym/tennis activities. That said, we would note that the snorkeling was a bit disappointing, though there were options for day trips to better locations. We did one day trip from the resort - the Coba day trip. Very easy to book from the resort. Excellent staff and great activities. In terms of the adjoining X-Caret park, we purchased the all inclusive access pass, and were happy that we did. It allowed us to take in the park a few hours a time, instead of powering through the whole thing in one day. For those visiting the park, the evening show is a must-see, as is the aviary. We also really enjoyed floating down the rivers. Beautiful ocean views if you walk back to the resort along the water. The only other thing that we would flag for anyone travelling to this resort is the resort sales pitch. We decided not to attend the "free breakfast" because we didn't want to spend 90 minutes of our vacation listening to a sales pitch, and had no interest in buying a timeshare at the resort. We were approached several times a day by resort staff asking us to attend this briefing for the remainder of our stay. So, something to manage for anyone visiting the resort - this was not our favourite part. That said, we would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a week of relaxation in the sun!!

Occidental Punta Cana: Great time

My Daughter and I, did a four day stay, it was her first time at an all inclusive, the food, pool, room, were all first class, the staff were very friendly, and the entertainment amazing, we hope to return someday with the whole family.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: It was a great trip

It was so big. The staff was great. We took mopeds out one day and the city was amassing to see. We went and seen a baseball game off the resort and let me tell you it was AMAZING!!!!! Love the blue jays but 10 times better amosphere!!!!

Occidental Punta Cana: Had a great time

Went down here Feb 2014 with a buddy and had a great time. The food was good, resort was clean, and the staff were friendly. All in all I found it was good value for the price we paid. The Magu was fun also, and a great pizza joint on the resort which is open all night (came in handy a few times)

Occidental Punta Cana: A Fine Resort

This 4 star resort is as advertised. Nothing spectacular, but nothing wrong either. Beach is glorious. Grounds were impeccable. Pools were huge and clean. Food was very good. You can walk for kilometers along the waterfront (both directions)

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Excellent staff

With this being the first trip to Costa Rica to scope a wedding site it was all about location. We stumbled across this resort in magazine and came recommended by 2 coworkers. We arrived to be welcomed by the friendliest staff. Checkin was good and knowing from trip in that we were in for a treat with all the hills. A shuttle took us right to out floor as we call it because there is such a hill to the resort that all the buildings are built in levels so there is 3 levels. Room was a normal room  [... read more]with 2 beds. We had ground level so all the stairs were out for us. Now here's where everything got to the excellent part. We go to the buffet as we were hungry and was greeted by the hostess and sat basically anywhere as there wasn't more that 80 people in the resort. Our server (Jimmy) who in all my travels is the best server ever was very kind and spoke very good English. He stood tree and took our drink orders and never asked again. He made small talk and introduced us to Costa Rica culture. This man was by far a treasure well kept away from the world and is a gem that the rest of the world really needs to meet. Everyday we would come in and be sat in his area and he would bring us our drinks with out us asking. Great memory and great service. He recommended places to go and who we should see and took our enjoyment his personal priority. He definitely made the resort a special place to us. We did our excursions, 5 of them with some of them being the best things we have ever done. Very first thing we did was watch the leatherback turtles come to shore and lay eggs.. Total the most awesome feeling watching life start on its journey. We did ziplining, horseback riding, water sliding, rock climbing, hot tubbing, going to waterfall (on our own with car rental), bird watching and fishing out on papagayo bay. Excellent trip and are planning on returning at end of October again where we have arranged to spend a day with some of the staff in San José.
