Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good resort

The resort was great. Staff was friendly and kind. Always smiling 😊 the only problem was there was not enough for the kids to do. We had 2 10 year olds and an 8 year old. They still had a great time. The food choices were great no one complained ever of being hungry. During meals you could go to the buffet style restaurant above the pool to eat. Kids even went there a couple times by themselves. However if you need to visit medical they are very very pushy and really want to just send you to  [... read more]the hospital. Make sure you purchase health insurance! My daughter had an allergic reaction to something while we were there and they did treat her onsite and told us to come back the next day so she could check on her. The next day we went back and my daughter was better however the doctor said she was not and really wanted her to go to the hospital. I refused and then she told me there could be something wrong with her kidneys. Crazy thing to say just to get me to go!! We did not go and my daughter was 100% better the next day. Took her to the doctors when we got home and she is fine! Overall I would rate this experience at 8/10! We would definitely go to the Dominican Republic again!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Puerto Plata

Small resort. Broken shower. Poorly sticked fridge. Supsed to be a family resort and there were little to no children’s activities. 50 chaises at pool for 500+rooms. Absolutely not good value for the dollar. Yearly travellers and this was the worst value for our money. Transat airlines was surprisingly worse than sunwing and their delays. Staff didn’t even help a SINGLE person with overhed baggage let alone any snack. Non existent tv movie or even radio all media down. Broken toilets. Absolu [... read more]tely shocking for a 4+hour flight. Sad really. Not the cleanest resort by any means and certainly not accommodating.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Sunscape resort and transat holidays

This was definitely a three star resort. Disappointing. My sons shower head fell off numerous times on his head. Patio doors broken.killed 2 cockroaches and one mouse. Fridge stocked daily means one sprite one coke 2 bottles 500ml of water yet you cannot drink the tap water. Very disappointing for the $1400.00 per person we paid. The transat plane going had broken toilets so only two worked huge lineups. No movie not even a single radio station as their “ media was down”. No snack not a cook [... read more]ie or anything. We paid $5600.00 for myself my husband my 21 year old and 17 year old. We cruise or do all inclusives every year. This was by far the most disappointing trip and the value for our dollar was exceptionally disappointing. We travelled as a group of 22 and didnt even get a discount. I think this could have been handled wt better.

Sunscape Splash: Resort needs Maintenance

Rooms are clean and well maintained . The resort needs a new coat of paint on most areas especially on some restaurants the pools are clean but tiles need to be replaced and maintained . the staff try to be helpful and are friendly. the pool areas need more loungers and chairs as the number of guests vs the number of chairs and loungers can be very frustrating .

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Lovely beach and great staff!

the beach was marvellous, inviting, beautiful sand and calm waves, great for children and taking it easy! staff was super-friendly and helpful. Go for the upgrade if you can it's worth it. The Adventure Club for kids was really well resourced and much enjoyed by the 3 yr old in our party. Food was good, on par with most AI resorts.

Everything in this resort was fantastic from the beach to the food and the food to the pool. Everything was very enjoyable. Wifi was a little hard to get but besides that Sunscape was fantastic! Would absolutely go again!

Absolutely awesome place. Fantastic beaches volleyball, excellent clay courts, great instructor Luis. Food was excellent, service was excellent best message of my life. Absolutely recommended for fun lovers , beach lovers, tennis and volleyball players.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Love this place.

We love Suncsapes. This was our 5th visit in 4 years. The food is great. The staff so friendly. It's clean and the grounds are so well kept. The beach is beautiful. I love taking long walks on the beach it goes on forever. We love returning and seeing the smiling faces of those we've become fond of. They always remember us and say welcome home.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing resort!

This is our second time to this resort. We enjoyed it so much last year that we came back. Our first experience was through the upgrade into the Sunclub. This year we didn't do the upgrade and we experienced a beautiful holiday. The grounds are spectacular. Clean, well maintained and attractive to the eye. Always some gardeners performing their magic. Always wanting to make you happy and making sure that if you have a request, they are eager to help you. The beach was amazing. Always clean and the sunshine perfect. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Has everything you need & great staff!

Pools are ok. Beach is amazing. Great snorkeling right from the shore. Tons of fish as soon as you walk out. The food is ok. Very good in some instances but definitely not a 5 star resort. They could use some more variety. However, it has everything you need. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms are big and very clean. Although it's an older hotel and on the small side we love it. We stayed in the new portion (Royal Tower) and our view was perfect. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Close to Paradise@

Hotel room was very good. A little TLC req'd. Grounds were excellent. Swimming & snorkeling in the protected beaches was the best! Loved the VIP service. All the restaurants were very good. Location was perfect for privacy yet close enough to attractions. And the people were super friendly. Loved the multilingual chatter with guests...

Sunscape Cove: One word "SUCKS"

The hotel is not only rated wrong it isn't even close to being a 4 star. The service was terrible, rooms were worse than a jail and the food was better on the airplane. Save your money and look elsewhere Sun scape is a DUMP!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Something For Everyone Resort!

This all inclusive resort was fabulous. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff were so helpful. Food was good with lots of options. Lots to explore in a tour or on your own. We walked halfway to town, so much to see. Mambo beach next door. Thought this offered everything a great family resort could and more! Would go back in a minute.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: An excellent vacation

We truly adored our vacation. The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The people were very courteous, extremely helpful. The food was exceptional, every restaurant we went too, we were never disappointed. We booked through trip central, and had no complications what so ever. We will book with them from now on. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Nice resort

No complaints about the resort knowing that we booked a four star resort, beach was great for swimming, the resort itself is an older resort but well looked after and very clean. Big shout out and Thank You to Mark the Casino Manger who stepped up when hotel management couldn't be bothered, Mark went well above and beyond to help us out while we were in a bit of a predicament and also Ecko who made sure our stay was fun and enjoyable. The only complaint would be that booking with Trip Central,  [... read more]we up graded our flight to business class ( which was not cheap) with the guarantee from travel agent that we would have the Maple Leaf Lounges at both Toronto and Curacao airports, when we arrived for our departing flight, which was delayed at Curacao airport we were informed that there was no such lounge available for us.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Great Family Memories in Cozumel!

Sunscape Sabor was a lovely family-friendly resort with something for everyone to enjoy! The grounds were lovely, with beautiful garden and beach views. The beach was beautiful and had spectacular views along the coast. There was amazing snorkelling right off the beach and at the pier and the resort had so many activities for adults and kids alike to enjoy all day, beach or poolside. Each day had a new theme with local and international cuisine and dishes. Between the buffet, bbq and snack stations and restaurants, you could pretty much eat whenever you wanted! The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful and we felt welcome and comfortable asking for information or assistance. Check in with staff to know when they're around and they'll be happy to serve you! The staff also organized many fun activities for children and adults alike and our kids loved playing volleyball in the pool or at the beach, a movie night on the beach, ping pong, Mexican games, and the super fun foam party on Saturday night! The kids were well supervised during activities and this allowed us adults to have some time to ourselves while the kids were always safe and close by so we could check in on them. We had a great week overall and wish we could have stayed a bit longer; thanks to Tracy Weldon for helping us book our wonderful Mexican vacation at Sunscape Sabor; loads of fun, sun, adventure, and relaxation for the whole family to enjoy! If we ever return to Cozumel, we know where to go!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very nice

The food was good. The a la carte restaurants didn't require a reservation, which was nice. Had to lone up about 10 mins before dinner service in order to get a seat at the first seating otherwise we would have to wait about an hour and 15 mins. Was pretty much the only negative. Staff was friendly, excellent snorkeling, and the whole island was really safe.

This resort was built in 1966, It was a Breezes before that. I really do read all the reports on Trip Advisor, Oyster, and Monarch. Most are complaining about everything , most are saying its the best. I usually discard 50%. Friends recommended the resort, saying it was a little tired but still ok, as it had a 4* rating. The ro [... read more]om we were given, as requested , was to be central but quiet not near the entertainment all night. When we entered the room, I didn't want to unpack. There were no doors on the closets, 1 small round table, with 1 outdoor chair. The bathroom was so outdated ,there was no place to put anything away,as there was no counter-space around the sink.The shower was 24x24 with a curtain round around it, and the curtain was so small in didn't close.The safe was broken, and when my husband sat on the corner of the bed it collapsed. We request another room in an upgraded block, which we refused to pay for, but it was granted, although we had to wait 2 days for. Because the safe was broken, I had to keep all of our money, passports with me, until that room was ready. The other room was a little better, with a balcony we could get another chair inside and the bathroom had a walk in shower and some counterspace. But in was still outdated but very clean.It was on the 3rd floor. Although I have somewhat of a disability it was manageable. We booked the resort for 2 wks at over $7,900.00 cdn. On the plus side, the beach is very nice with the break wall , amazing snorkelling , warm water, temperature was always 29 degrees, a very warm breeze, and no rain.The resort is extremely clean , the bathrooms spotless, and our room was very clean every day.The staff are fluent in at least 3-5 languages, English, Spanish, Dutch, Some German and some french. There was never a communication problem.Any problem we had with the new room was fixed within hours. The staff were very friendly. However the buffet was awful. The staff would take forever to bring coffee cups, and coffee, until people decided to get it themselves. The buffet consisted of 1 aisle. The food was most always cold, or warm at the most. Salad bar and deserts were non-existed. No pasta station, no carving station. No desert station, 2 soup containers with floating grease or oil. Thankfully there was 1 sole who could make an omelette and fry an egg. The food was constantly recycled into another leftover the next day.For the money we paid it was a 2+ at the best. Some Melias in Cuba had better food , and that's not saying much.The a la carte's were a little better, but while the main meat was warm and veggies or side was always cold. The capital is beautiful, clean, safe, and a major cruise port. Would I go back. No, Would I recommend it, No. If you want to spend $8,000.00 simply go elsewhere.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Moldy Rooms

We just returned on February 1st from a week stay here and definitely would not return! There was mold growing behind our bed and in our bathroom and the tub felt like you were going to fall through it not to mention the air conditioner leaking water all over!
