Hotel Bella Costa: Good resort

It was a nice hotel but the building needs an update. The food was good as well and it was unlimited. The service was great and the people are very friendly. The beach is stunning. I really enjoy all the free activities included and the show every night was fun.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort!

My family and I had a great time! Everyone was really nice! And the beach was great! Food was pretty good, Pasta guy was really funny and always made the kids laugh. I recommend this resort to any family looking for a nice relaxing time.

Hotel Los Cactus: Fantastic resort and staff!!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The room was much bigger than I expected with a great balcony. The food was great and always fresh. The beach was fantastic. The best part was the staff though. They made the stay amazing.

Hotel Bella Costa: Standard Cuban experience

Beach was great. Hotel was clean. Buffet was better than expected. Rooms very old fashion and in need of repair and upgrading. Staff friendly but unhelpful. Local rooster woke us up almost every morning at 3:30am with non-stop calling.

Hotel Bella Costa: Worn, but good service.

The hotel is older. It's worn but clean. In my hall there were a number of water leaks from the ceiling. Other areas looked renovated. Room was clean but again, worn. Shower leaked and was hard to use because of it. The food, was subpar. But that's Cuba. Did not get sick but chose things carefully. Beach is very nice. Grounds are well maintained. The 4am rooster wakeup calls were unpleasant.

Hotel Los Cactus: average

With out good friends this trip would have been a bust. A t age 58 - 60 we felt like we were the young ones, there fore making it a quiet resort. We had terrible weather for two weeks, rain, overcast and lots of wind. The hotel was average for Cuba, an older resort and it showed its age. The service was good, especially our maid. job well done. The food was the same daily for two weeks. Recommend the ala carte restaurant. The Italian being the best. Hotel Bella Costa: Decent location, needs repairs

The biggest qualm I have is with the state of (dis)repair of the building and its parts, e.g. leaking roof, missing toilet seats, hair dryer not working etc. Other than that, it was quite alright: food was 'par' for Cuba - edible but not incredible. Entertainment was quite good, unfortunately the weather made some things rather tough (rained every day) which I know they can't control so no points lost for that. Disco blaring at night could be heard in the r [... read more]ooms but I think it was from a nearby resort - might be worthwhile bringing earplugs if you're sensitive. Overall, once they either repair (or rebuild?) a lot of the areas, it will be a 4star again.

Hotel Bella Costa: Cuba????

This was my first time traveling to Cuba and stayed at the breezes hotel Bella Costa in veradero. I heard many different things about Cuba so l went with an open mind. This hotel in no way is a 4 star hotel. It is old and run down. The beds are terrible! The hair dryers don't work or they catch on fire. The toilet seats are missing off toilets. Your lucky if there is toilet paper. They do not provide you with any beverages in your room and you pretty much have to hound them for a bottle of wate [... read more]r to be left in your room. The service was not good. Even if you leave them a tip it's like they don't care. They don't clean off tables in the indoor or outdoor buffets. You have to go to them constantly to ask for more coffee/tea/pop whatever! We were so anoid that we started to go and get the coffee pot or bottle of wine and serve ourselves. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel Bella Costa: OK resort - Friendly staff

Resort was good, amenities were good, food was ok, shows were excellent except for the body painted people one night - questionable. The rooms were clean but there appeared to be a bit of a mold issue and drippy pipes in many locations. Suites were nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly and really made the vacation.

The rooms need updated with new bedspreads, the building has leaks every where but the pool area and the grounds are well kept The service made up for rooms The food was great The entertainment could be better in the evening All and all was pretty good

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Welcome home Mon

I'm very reluctant to give a positive review of Jewel Runaway Bay...because it means more folk will go and we might have difficulty getting bookings! Jewel is just that, a jewel of a resort. Granted, it is not big at around 300 rooms, but that is part of its charm. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately kept, the restaurants offer enough choices that even the pickiest eater should be happy (suggestion for ordering in the Italian restaurant-- pasta? ask for a 'half' serving or order a serv [... read more]ing between two people!! HUGE portions) the grounds are lush, beach pristine the water is a beautiful turquoise blue with an amazing coral reef just beyond the roped off swimming area. The 'designation' is a family resort, and it is that -- not only are there activities for all age groups but you are also treated like family. The staff actually recognize you and, if you make a return trip, remember you. Case in point -- we were at Jewel last September, and have just returned from a January visit, on our first morning heading for breakfast Kerry Ann the hostess for the buffet, stopped dead in her tracks and said 'you're back!' and came over to give us a hug ...she wasn't the only person to recognize us, and when they did, the greeting was usually 'welcome home' -- not something you get at a mega resort like Riu, Bahia or similar. If you are looking for lots of night life and local clubs, this may not be the resort for you but if you prefer good evening entertainment and a variety of daytime activities to choose from I think you'll find what you are looking for here.

Hotel Bella Costa: Resort could use some major renovations.

The staff at the hotel were great, and surprisingly the food wasn't too bad. The restaurants were well kept, but the rest of the hotel is in major need of renovations. The weather was poor during our stay and everything leaked. There were puddles on the floor throughout the hotel and there was a lingering smell of mold. The bathroom in our room was in disrepair, as the celing was falling down and the enamel in the tub was peeling away. Hotel Bella Costa: Not what you think!

This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. Water leaks all over the hotel, including the buffet. Massive holes in the ceiling dripping all over the floor. Bird droppings all over the chairs in the buffet area. The beach was nice off to the left hand side but the right was full of garbage and un-kept. We were very disappointed with the overall state of hotel. Very run down and we spotted mold in the buffet as well as the Italian restaurant on the ceilings. Food was awful. Everything was under cooked  [... read more]including the rice..The one good thing was the location of the hotel. Close to town and the bars. I could go on with a list of other things but no need. Just do not waste your time and money.They shut the power off on us twice during our stay. I will not be returning there. And i do not recommend this place to anyone.

Memories Jibacoa: Gem in Cuba

The staff are the gems at this beautiful resort. They bend over backwards to please and serve you. A green lush setting backing onto a hill. A great beach with fabulous snorkelling right there! Food had lots of choices & flavours with amazing presentation. Awesome coffee. Large rooms, Furniture needs updating but adequate for our use. Was a lovely time!

Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful resort!

This small beautiful resort has wonderful staff and many guests who return repeatedly. The grounds are gorgeous. There is coral just off shore. Great tennis pro. Lovely spacious rooms. Very good food and entertainment. A relaxed and refreshing holiday.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort!

Grounds were spotless and we're maintained every day. The main buffet and restaurants were a 5 star! Staff were very curtios and helpful. Balcony room was very good, great Oceanview room! Entertainment was exceptional!

Memories Jibacoa: Great place to stay!

The resort was just the right size! Pool was great! Staff were very friendly and continue to ask you if everything is meeting your expectations! The team exceeded my expectations that's why it was one of the best resorts I have stayed at!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Perfect resort for families or anyone !!

This resort has it all, great staff, good comfortable rooms, excellent restaurants and all stretched out on a beautiul beach just steps away from anything that you want. The waterpark is first class fun for all ages.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Out of this world snorkelling!

My husband, two kids (13 and 11) were at Sunscape from December 27, 2015 to January 3, 2016. Our goal was to relax at a great beach with extraordinary snorkelling. Mission accomplished! The snorkelling right outside our room was superb! The beach and snorkelling are definitely 5 stars in our books. The reason for our overall rating of 3 stars is the food. There was not much of a variety and it wasn't great. Not a big deal and we still had a great time. Our room (8117) was on the main floor of  [... read more]the Flamingo building (west end of the property). Initially, we were kind of disappointed as we did not have too great of a view and as other reviewers have pointed out, our room had a musty smell. Before long, this didn't even matter as we spent every waking minute outside enjoying that gorgeous beach! It turned out to be great not to have to haul our luggage/gear up one or two flights of stairs. Our room was definitely spacious enough for our family of four. While we didn't really participate in organized activities as we preferred to do our own thing (snorkelling!) the entertainment team seemed to be doing a great job. While the food was nothing to write home about, it was great to just show up for dinner and not worry about keeping a schedule. We took a half day excursion to visit other snorkelling sites (Porto Mari, Cas Abao and Big Kenepa). While the beaches were beautiful and it was fun to tour around, the snorkelling was not as good as right outside our bedroom door at Sunscape. We also went to the Dolphinarium which was approximately a 15 minute walk east of the resort. This was worthwhile and only took up approximately 2-3 hours. We did not partake in the pricey swimming with the dolphins experience but did take in a few interactive shows. The highlight was feeding the nurse sharks. Very cool! Rather than walking back to the resort on the main road, we opted to follow the shore. This took us back via Mambo Beach which was quite scenic. Our final excursion was a trip to Klein Curaçao aboard the Miss Ann (Miss Ann Boat Trips). We were picked up at Sunscape and travelled by bus 45 minutes to the boat. The actual boat ride took an hour and a half. If you are prone to motion sickness this excursion is NOT for you. There were lots of pukers on board. We had taken Gravol prior to the voyage and were quite grateful for that. (The return voyage was with the current therefore much smoother). While the snorkelling at Klein Curaçao was not great, we did sea a sea turtles which made the treacherous expedition totally worth it. We also enjoyed seeing all the cool geckos and crabs. We were all very pleasantly surprised by the two delicious shore lunches provided. I cannot even describe the amazing fireworks on New Years Eve. Awesome! All in all, our experience in Curaçao was a positive one. Our goal was to get in plenty of snorkelling and we definitely gave our fins and snorkels (and our new GoPro) a good run. Since we had read about the one hour daily limit on the free snorkel equipment, we had "invested" in our own gear prior to the trip. Best. Decision. Ever. One more thing to mention is to not expect much in the way of vegetation (read zero lush landscaping) however we thought the cacti and iguana were neat.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: amazing resort

check in - very quick and efficient activities - activation staff are too mellow need to be more engaged and up beat food - amazing best food that we have had at an all inclusive location- excellent close to willemstad free shuttle to town or the public bus for 1-2 dollars this resort is a very clean resort , however it is also a very mellow resort they play piano music widespread drinks are very good quality with ^premium brands over all our trip here was awesome , beatiful sunsets off the ocea [... read more]n , beautiful weather and very friendly staff , Norma at the Oceana bar was awesome
