Great resort better beach

The hotel was in great shape, Maintained well in comparison to others that are 4.5 Star. Staff where helpful and friendly even for Cuban standards:) Breakfast buffet was fantastic but dinner buffet needed dive more variety. Unfortunately the trip ended poorly by Sunwing because they cancelled our return home a day late just like last year in Veradero No one knew and waited in lobby for 10 hours. Never FLY SUNWING!! Very nice and big resort!

We have spent 1 week of vacation in this resort.It is a big resort,people are very nice but even nicer if you tip them.During the weekend the beach is very crowded and people very loud. Lots of locals coming to the public beach.The pool is huge but not really clean.Room service is great. Icecream is very good!Same food everyday but with choices.No mosquitos like is other reviews.Very nice show at/in the swimming pool.

Best resort so far in Cuba

Acceptable resort

In general our one week vacation was good but a few issues reminded us from time to time about the correspondence between the price we paid and the service we get. The resort is well spread on a rather vast territory (compared to others) and as it was pointed out in many previous reviews you need to be up for extensive walking though the shuttles do a good job. The room's interior immediately revealed the age of the resort though it was clean and well maintained. In the bathroom the tub' [... read more]s drain was not efficient enough and we had to stay in the soapy water while taking the shower. I called for a handyman but nothing has been improved and we had to tolerate that tub till the departure. Air conditioner was blowing 24/7 but it was not capable enough to drop the temperature to the set-up. In our daughter's room the temperature was much more comfortable. Variety of restaurants and quality of food was up to our expectations. The major disappointment is in the use of the beach. The beach itself and access to the ocean are perfect, water is magnificent but it turned out that the beach is not reserved only for the use of the resort's patrons but the access is also allowed to the local residents. Despite the availability of unattended sector of the beach between Playa Pesquero and the neighboring resort allocated for the locals they somehow preferred to stay close to the resort's patrons. And it was very noticeable that the beach and ocean were not their major attractions. I admit for those vacationers who spent the entire vacation next to the pool that issue is not a big deal but for us it is a deal breaker. We did not feel comfortable and completely safe with the presence of the locals (though most likely they do not have any bad intentions towards the resort's clients) and with every swim had to keep the eyes on our belongings left on the beach. At the departure the bus to airport arrived with a delay of 30 minutes but we got to the airport just in time.

Awesome as usual

Year after year with its beautiful white sand and clear water this place is never disappointing. This was my 9th vacation there and it keeps getting better. The locals are absolutely awesome and the service is fantastic. It is now impossible to walk through this resort without saying hello to everyone. The pool bartender will have your drinks waiting for you before you even step foot in the pool. If you are looking to party like an animal, it's not the place to be. This is primarily a family resort and the clients are usually respectful. Definitely recommend this resort. Going back in September. M

NICE PLACE

GOOD AND CLEAN HOTEL. NICE AND VERY HARD WORKING STAFF, SERVICE IS VERY SLOW BUT NOT BAD, BEACH IS NICE, ENOUGH CHAIR AND SHED FOR EVERY ONE. NIGHT SHOWS WERE GOOD,BUFFET FOOD IS VERY REPEAT BUT ALA CART WAS GOOD

Phenomenal. Highly recommended

This resort was an absolute dream. I have stayed at several different locations in Cuba and this is one of the best. You normally hear the food isn't good in Cuba. This is not the case at this location. It was amazing. The staff are much more mature (than other resorts we've been to), and you do have to tip to get some extra service. When you do...you get treated like gold. We will definitely look to return and this is one of my favourite spots.

Amazing Resort!

This is our 2nd time visiting this resort. It has exceeded our expectations in everything. Food, cleanliness, service and beach. The gardens and statues are so beautiful to see while walking around the resort. We will definitely be back :)

Beautiful resort, wonderful vacation.

This was my second time at this amazing resort and I loved it just as much as the first time I visited it four years ago. The grounds are so lovingly looked after, the pool and beach are beautiful and well cared for. The people and the service were excellent. If I had one complaint it would be that the food could have been hotter. I have heard so many complain about the food but I found that there was always something on the menu you could eat, after all people this is Cuba. Average one..

Great beach and water, bad buffet, but good "A La cart" restaurants, poor conditions of the rooms, excellent stuff all over the resort. There could be improvement done based on experience from Playa Cayo Santa Maria.

Even better the second time

This was mine and my sister's second time at this resort ,the last being 10 years ago and we had an even better time this time around. The staff are brilliant ,absolutely ready to help you out with anything. At this point I would normally add some constructive criticism but I have none ,it was perfect ! The resort was under a major overhaul and the lobby was being painted and refurbished ,plus new gardens and walkways but not once did it get in our way or anything bother us . Nice resort!

First time to Cuba....beach was great and the resort had lots of activities! Pool was beautiful and there was always lots of loungers available. Resort is currently under renovations which took away from our overall experience.

Great resort

Older but well kept, amazing beach, great snorkelling right from the beach. The À la carte restaurants were great, buffets pretty good for Cuba. They added over 50 palapas during our stay, so it was pretty easy to find some shade. Nice secluded bay on the left hand side to explore.

Pristine resort

Beautiful sand and pool, abundance of food for all food types/medical conditions, rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were amazing, knowledgable, friendly. Resort was family friendly with excursions off resort if you desired. Safe to roam anywhere, was up till 3:30 first night and didn't have any issues. Travelled with 9 other people ranging in all from 30-70 years of age and there was things to do for all of the group. Huge Resort

This resort is very large, spread out over a large area so lots of walking, nice pool, and a very nice beach. The buffets are fairly good but the food in the trays are cool. I feel this hotel is great for the younger set, lots of noise, etc.

Good for Cuba

I'm never one to expect more or less than I pay for. That being said, the beach was awesome, the food was good...very good at ala cartes. The lobby are was being painted when we left. The room we were in could use a renovation on the bathroom...but other than that...good time. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean. Viva Cuba!

Incredible Spot! You will love it!

Playa Pesquero is truly a gem! The staff go out of their way for you, the beach is gorgeous, no bugs to speak of, 7 restaurants, fabulous pools; and it is huge!! Great value for the money! The resort is clean, the main lobby relaxing, there are shows in the evenings, and despite its massive size, the bell boys are always available if you need a lift. Snorkeling, Hobby Cats, a kids play area, gym with hot tubs, tennis, a huge new bouncy castle, water aerobics, dance lessons, and then there ar [... read more]e excursions too! Some Great, some not so great

Although this hotel had some great things going for it, like the Beer Garden, Mojito Bar, Beach and Pool area, the overall sense from my group of 5 was that it was really getting dated. The rooms were small and had some pest issues. The food was typically Cuban, but you certainly don't go to Cuba for the food. You could always find something to eat that was ok, perhaps even good but never great. The biggest issue with this resort was that it was too big. Beautiful Resort. Great food.

Fantastic resort. Service was great. Loved the atmosphere at the beer garden. Kid friendly but adult fun at the same time. Food was great for Cuba and they had ketchup, salt, and pepper at the tables. One thing is they were renovating which was a bit of an eye sore, but just means this will be an even better resort in the future.

Just perfect for us!

Found the hotel to be perfect for a relaxing, do nothing, vacation! Food was very good...lobster and shrimp every day, but a good steak difficult to find. Beach is fabulous, pool is just as amazing! Drinks were better than expected especially the coffee coach and the liquor cart in the lobby. I would not recommend this resort to anyone who wants to be touring a lot from the hotel....not much in the area.
