Resort was nice, food was edible. Resort was waaayyy too big for my liking. And because of all the people the beach was packed! Couldn't get a al la carte reservation either. Probably wouldn't go back.

Superb resort

We visited luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda resort for the first time last week. We felt so welcome.The staff was so polite and helpful. The food very well presented, delicious and lots of variety. The rooms very spacious and super clean. Pool and beach area very nicely kept. Thank you Brianna for finding this paradise for us. Be aware of the (gold privilege Club)they are situated in the hotel lobby. They will go after you like sharks.they offer free gift ex:helicopter ride ,massa [... read more]ge . Special spot on the beach for members and more perks. They call it free gift. You will have to go to an information session about time share for a couple hours. Unless you want to buy into it. stay away from them. Privilege club are in every hotel lobby.

Place to be

It was worth the money. We are coming back there this summer .the place was very clean food was ok the service was very good.the people that work there were amazing. The rooms were very clean. Can't say enough about this place. I've been there 4times now and it's still the place to go . Specially new year Eve's was amazing they had an amazing musics that was North American style kind of music

Perfect relaxing getaway

The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana does not fail to impress. This was our 3rd visit to this resort and we've come to appreciate the beautiful beach, manicured grounds and the friendliness of the staff. Hands down our favourite a la carte restaurant is the Japanese one. Tons of fun having our tasty food prepared in front of us. Our visit was a much needed break from work and school and allowed us to spend some amazing family time together over the winter break.

Poor Service. Go Somewhere Else.

Overall, my stay at the Grand Bahia Principe was less than I expected. Unfortunately due to heavy rainfall, my room had a leak coming from the hallway panels. I called the front desk for assistance. When someone came to my room to check the leak, the employee told me to call another service/facility. This did not solve the problem, nor the leak. I asked her if she could call the specific service/facility that would solve the leak as she knows the facilities best here. She then asked me to call t [... read more]he ice/mini bar service phone line. I did not understand how they could help to solve the leak. Asking her once again for her assistance, she called the specific service/facility and within thirty minutes, an employee arrived to my room and stopped the leak. With this, throughout my stay, the phone in the room (20210) would work on and off as it would not have a dial tone or be able to connect any call to the front desk or to another room properly. I went to the front desk and explained this problem about the phone however no one came by to check the phone. The phone continued to not work properly throughout the week. The day before my departure, I went to the front desk and explained that the phone was not working properly. Due to this, I asked the front desk employee to schedule a time when the bell boy can pick up my luggage from my room. I explained that I notified the front desk about the phone a couple of days ago. I asked the employee to schedule the bell boy to come to my room for the following day at 9am as I was leaving at 10am. He wrote down my request and said that he would call/schedule the bell boy. The following day, I had my luggage packed and ready. At 9:30am, no one had come to pick up my luggage. I was disappointed as I took time in advance to ask for assistance but, I did not receive it. I rolled my luggage down the stairs and all the way to the front desk from villa 20. A shuttle driver told me that I could not bring my luggage on to the shuttle car. I asked him if he can tell me where I can call for a bell boy or if he can use his walkie talkie to call a car for me but he did not. So, I went by myself. I gave in my room keys and told the front desk employee, she then re-directed me to guest services. I then had to explain what happened again to the guest services' employee and asked to speak to the general manager about this matter. The general manager met me at guest services. I had to explain for the third time that the phone did not work, thus I asked for front desk to call a bell boy for me in advance and that I waited thirty minutes for someone to help collect my luggage however, no one came by and I was late for my departure day. She re-instated that she would find out which employee made that "scheduled" appointment for me, however I was leaving the resort in less than one hour. I was very disappointed and with the general manager as she did not contact me about this problem or how she tried to solve the problem. Thank you, however due to this, I will not be returning to the Grand Bahia Principe and to its' other resort chains and I have told others about the disservice that I have experienced.

Christmas at Bahia

Had a wonderful stay at Bahia Punta Cana over Christmas. My husband and I stayed there 10 years ago and we brought our 7 year old daughter on this trip. It has changed a lot in terms of more hotels, more restaurants, more pools, etc. However, we still found the same quality of service from wait staff, housekeeping, bartenders. BEAUTIFUL RESORT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I arrived Christmas day to join my brother and his family. The trip was really to celebrate my brothers 50th birthday on the 28th of December. This was the most beautiful resort in every way. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience any of it. Our first night there I had a severe reaction to multiple mosquito bites all over my legs. I would leave the room to eat, that was it. Didn't get to walk the beach with my wife or make use of any of the beautiful pools. The people, the food, the resort were all great. I just wish we could have a do over. The last time We went to an all inclusive was ten years ago. I will definitely be recommending this amazing resort to everyone.👍🏻

Nice Resort

Resort was clean and well kept. Food was good. Service was good most of the time. Main complaint was that we had trouble getting new clean beach towels. Sometimes had to wait for hours. Room cleaning was not consistent - sometimes we didn't get wash cloths, sometimes we didn't get pillow cases on our pillows. Resort is very large so you have to take a shuttle to everything. Beach was very nice and cleaned every day.

Amazing but Big

Hotel room was wonderful 3 Pools and walking distance to a lovely Sandy Beach only complaint is too far to walk to Main Lobby for Meals had to take a trolley everywhere. When you got to the Lobby there was wonderful live shows and Buffet.

Great Vacation

This beautiful resort has it all. We enjoyed the tropical atmosphere and relaxing in the pool areas just sitting back soaking up the sun. There were people working on flowers, shrubs and trees constantly. The resort was always spotless. We enjoyed the meals and beverages. Rooms were nice and the frig restocked often. We would recommend this resort to anyone.

Very disapointed

the food was very good, and the grounds were very beautiful and well kept. the room cleaning staff were not nice at all and did not clean our room properly all week and not once did she clean our balcony.and our mini bar was not stocked daily..when we asked her to stock it she gave me a dirty look and attitude. also friends of ours that came with us, the cleaning lady they had stole money and her medication. and she has stage 4 cancer. 2 days of our trip was wasted dealing with that, and there r [... read more]oom had a leak and all of there close were soaked. our whole vacation was ruined and we could not wait to leave there. we go to the Dominican every year and this was by far the worst trip.

Decent resort

The resort was well taken care of. Rooms were OK. Food was delicious. Pools and beaches were amazing as well as bars/drinks. Hotel staff only speak French/Spanish, very minimal English so took a long time to resolve problems or issues. Resort is very large, trolley staff some were good, some not and refused to drive. Lots of options of activities. Recommend the catamaran and beach tour.

Don't waste your time and money here.

This resort was the biggest one that we have stayed at and the lack of good quality service shows in a resort this big. Rooms: The décor is a bit dated, but it was fairly clean. There were stains on our sheets when we arrived and the comforter was full or stains and really needed a good washing. We did not use the comforter during our stay and the sheets were stain free after we requested a change. Towels were replaced on a daily basis, however some days we had two towels and other da [... read more]ys four. The mini bar was free, but there was only pop, water and two beers. No snack food. *You have to pay $28USD for your room safe. Never encountered this at other resorts. Pool You are given two cards that you exchange at the pool for pool towels. However there were never any pool towels available. We were constantly told that it would be 30mins before there were more towels. When we went back 30mins later, still no towels. We found this rather irritating as a resort this larger should be able to accommodate all of their guests with pool towels. The water was always cloudy in the pool and the bottom is full of sand. Food/Restaurants The best restaurant by far was the Dominican restaurant. The service was the best and the food and portion size was by far the best on the resort. The buffet was meh, same bland food everyday. We found the portion sizes at the other restaurants to be very small and it was often hard to get the attention of a server for another drink or to ask a question. Overall we weren't too impressed. We were this for a wedding and this was not our choice. The bride and groom weren't too pleased either as they resort was trying to change them $600USD for their wedding packages that was included in their original package. Lots of confusion when dealing with staff. No one was going the extra mile to help you enjoy your stay.

Grand Baha Principe

Rooms were very nice. Mini fridges didn't keep things cold. Tried for 4 days to get our coffee maker replaced( didn't work) but no luck. Food was good at the buffet but the al a carte restaraunts were not enjoyable. Not very friendly staff and not enough staff spoke or understood English . Beautiful beaches.

Always a pleasure

I've been to this resort 3x and will def go back if I get the chance. Its clean, well maintained, the staff are friendly and the rooms are kept clean. Food is great, there's always something you can find to eat. Buffet is a little repetitive but always well replenished. Towel service needs a bit of improvement w its turn over w washing and drying - new towel at the end of the day or mid day not always available. Had to tip the guy at the booth to hold 3 towels for us in the afternoon one da [... read more]y. Entertainment on the beach needs more improvement... There really is none except aerobics. Gift shop prices are ridiculous when it comes to necessities like sun screen or bug spray. They were asking $20USD for a bottle of OFF spray! Bring bug spray....we were eaten alive! Love this resort!

HUGE RESORT

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly a lot of Spanish speaking people at the resort and some of the staff did not know the greatest English so it was hard to get information sometimes but the resort was huge! Thank god there was a cart 24-7 to drive you around and I would STRONGLY Recommend the Japanese alacarte! So delicious!! The food at the buffet was very good as well. I would deffently go back

Amazing resort!

Hotel and everything around is excellent.We enjoy in really good organization, nice people and stuffs, plenty of activity,excellent food, night variety programs and certainly splendid beach and sea.I hope that we will be in possibility to come back soon.Thank you!!!

Couples Vacation

We just returned from Bahia Principe Punta Cana where we upgraded to the Golden section. The room was clean and comfortable but the mattress wasn't new thus not the most comfortable. We had a leak in our room during a rainy storm but the staff quickly cleaned it up and checked to make sure it wouldn't happen again. The cleaning staff was thoughtful and restocked our fridge daily with our choice of drinks which we wrote on a notepad for them. They weren't over the top impressive and frankly we preferred the buffet which had plenty of choices. The beach is nice and there's plenty of chairs. With so many pools we always found places to relax. The night shows were great!
