Good resort
We stayed at Iberostar Ensenachos from Feb 20 to Feb 27 2015. the hotel listed as a 5 star hotel it is not realy a 5 star but a 3.5 star. Grounds are very nice, beaches are the best in Cuba, the services needs major improvement and the food was ok.
Beautiful Hotel
Beautiful grounds, pool, excellent beach! The service was amazing with the exception of most of the reception staff. The Hola Sun rep was amazing always there to help resolve the issues we had with the rooms and reception not being helpful ( gave us the wrong room twice). Overall it was a good vacation, would go back in a flash!
BEAUTIFUL RESORT - ENSENACHOS BEACH A+++
The Resort & grounds are ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! The staff are extremely friendly, more like Family. The Buffet food was extremely good, pleasantly surprised. The Cashier Duvier is very friendly, we consider him our Family, same with Maikel in Guest Servies. A special shout out to the servers in the Buffet/Restaurant- Daniusky, Lis, Livania & Lazaro, Annia & Alfredo. To my favourite housekeeper Belkys, you are all Family to me, I miss you already!!! In the Bar, to Maria & Orlando. You are all welc [... read more]
Fabulous Beach
We loved the beach and the snorkeling and the gardens were lovely. The lobby and general facade were very attractive but the rooms and amenities(mattress, linens, towels) are old and tired. The buffets were adequate but only rarely did they serve the local beans and rice dish, congris and their excellent black beans. The staff are friendly and really do their best but there is a lack of leadership/management that could inspire better service. Although billed as 5 star it is a 3, maybe 4 so disap [... read more]
A lot of money for what you get
Overall the resort was nice. Needs a lot of maintenance, dark walking around at night because half the light bulbs are out. The beach was nice, people are friendly and the beer is cold. Be prepared to walk... one beach to the other is 1.5 hour round trip. Have to take a golf cart shuttle basically anywhere you want to go. Stay away from the buffet whenever possible but the a la carte's were excellent. Not very much (if any) entertainment at the pool or beach. Long drive from the airport, about 1 [... read more]
Gorgeous beaches
There isn't much to say about the resort except the staff were amazing and the beaches were gorgeous. Other than that the food was not great and the hotel was very spread out. Lots of junk and garbage in the bushes and the rooms needs a lot of maintenance. If you ever have an issue do not expect to get hold of a manager as they are not available. I would go back to Cuba but I would not go back to this resort. And never travel via sunwing.
Not what I expected
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were not impressed. The check in was slow. The hotel was in need of repairs (the ceiling in our bathroom fell down). The only good part was the staff. Our maid was excellent. The bartenders were friendly. The omelettes were tasty. The pools and beachs were amazing.
Mediocre
The actual grounds of the resort were beautiful and well maintained. The beaches are beautiful like all the beaches in Cuba. I was surprised by how little English the resort staff were able to understand and speak. The food was basically flavourless and there was no variety from day to day. With the weather and environmental conditions I was surprised that the resort was serving canned pineapple rather than fresh. Additionally, the jacuzzi was filled with cold water rather than hot My 7 day stay [... read more]
Great Beaches!
Me and my gf spent a week in Feb. The resort was very spread out, so be prepared to walk, however, the two beaches were beautiful and different from one another. The food was just ok but the service and staff were very nice. We stayed in the Park section and had no noise complaints and found the room to be quite nice and well kept.
Clean but not a 5 star.
Grounds were beautiful, the beaches breathtaking and the people were polite and hardworking. This was our 6th time to Cuba. We've stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero which is considered 4.5 star and it is far superior to the Iberostar Ensenachos which is considered a 5 star. We were totally let down. The rooms were clean, however, it seemed that the minibar soft drinks were limited to "cola", only after the first day. We would have liked the sprite and orange as we are not cola drin [... read more]
Good time!
The room was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The Ensenaches beach was beautiful and we spent a lot of time in the water. My favourite thing was the gardens that lined all of the walks. They are well cared for and gave a sense of tranquility to the resort. I enjoyed their omelets, soups, freshly prepared meats and fresh fruit. I would give the hotel 4 in some areas and 3 in others.
Beatiful Resort food not so good
We were very pleased with the Hotel, room and the beaches. All were above expectations. However the food was terrible and the restaurants were no better except for the Japanese Restaurant. The room was always clean and Mara the maid was wonderful. The beaches were amazing and the Hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. I have been to Cuba many times and this is my first complaint about the food.
Best beach
We had a great time at this beautiful resort. Fantastic beach and water, good food, the friendliest people you will find and no paddlers on the beach! We will definitely go back! The resort is large but you never have to wait more than a couple of minutes for a golf cart to get you where your going.
Nice resort
Very large resort. Disappointed with towel service for our room. We had no towels for 2 days after repeated requests. Also, no water for 2 days due to major pipe bursting. Front desk staff not very helpful. Bank closed for 6 days with no money at the front desk to change. Ground keepers and pool/beach were very helpful and very nice.
Good Resort
Very clean, spacious rooms, beautiful beaches and pools (two of each, each one busy for families and one quite for adults). Good entertainment. Food is not the best, after a few days I got a little tired of egg omelet every morning and especially the line ups around freshly cooked food, like fish, pasta or fruit shakes...the rest was just not the best...overall good, easy stay...like most the all inclusive ones!
Amazing Place
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been!Spent one week with my granddaughter. We both loved this resort.Great variety of food/unusual for Cuba/,very friendly staff, plenty of things to do. Planning to go back soon
Beautiful, quiet and secluded
We were 3 women (late 30's) who left our 3year olds and dad;s behind and stayed for 4 days. We wanted peace and quiet and this resort delivered. We stayed in the adults only spa section. The resort is spread out and is great for people who like to walk. There is always somewhere to go if you want to be alone. the beaches are beautiful although not wide if that's what you're looking for. Mohitos are fantastic as well as the cappachinos. The food is ok. I have gut issues so I mostly subsided on fi [... read more]
EXCELLENT RESORT
we stayed at the Grand Village and we had a great time! The villa were clean, the sunset was fantastic. We enjoyed the food and services at the Gourmet Restaurant. The shuttle service to the main lobby was always available and the butlers courteous.
Amazing beach and people
I will recommend this hotel if they improve the quaility of the food. we had food posining for 2 days while at the resort. The menu never changed for the entire week. Hotel room needs more work too. The mattress needs to be changed.
Not like it use to be!!!
We arrived at the hotel at lunch time our rooms we not ready, so around 3 we went to see if they ready yet, and they were not. We waited until around 4, we went to our rooms to find out that we had two rooms, with double beds, we had requested one with a king size bed the other with double beds. When we tried to request the rooms we had booked, no one would help us they kept hanging the phone up on my husband. So we took all our luggage back to the lobby, we requested to speak to the manager whi [... read more]
