Mosquito Heaven

A very nice resort, but for being an adult only I expected more night life. There was no disco or games room to be able to entertain yourselves. The food was what I expected from Cuba. The amount of mosquitoes shocked me. They used a smoker and that didn't do a thing, I travel alot and when they smoke to keep the bugs away there is always a dense cloud of smoke. The smoker that was used here looked like it was blowing little smoke rings out of it. There were so many and that made for not a relax [... read more]ing vacation because I spent more time swatting the bugs off of me or scratching the ones that did get me.

Great hotel they have a good food selection, friendly staff and clean rooms with regular maintenance. Would definitely recommend and re book! The beaches are absolutely spectacular! Go on the excursions!

Amazing Resort!

This is a great resort if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. This resort is close to the airport, the staff are very friendly, rooms are renovated and clean, food is good and the beach is amazing! I would definitely recommend this resort and will be returning in the near future.

Okay Resort

The resort was ok. I would give it a 3 star. I travel 3 or 4 times a year to the Caribbean and it's definitely not a 4 star. The service and staff was excellent and the beach was beautiful. Rooms and resort are in need of updates and repair. Food was average. It was the same thing everyday. The Asian restaurant was very good. There is no activities on the resort. Other then in the pool. After 10:30-11pm at night the resort goes into sleep mode. It's a good place to relax, if that's what you are [... read more] looking for. Would I go back to that resort, "no". I would experience further south of the island. The resort is isolated from town. So, shopping is limited. Look luck to all, cheers!

Memories Caribe: Great quality

The hotel was very bright and all areas of the resort were quite clean. All staff were very nice and accommodating. The maids were very nice, fast and professional. The food at all of the restaurants was always hot and delicious (a nice variety everyday). The bars served great drinks and fast. Customer service was always available to address any concerns. The best beach in the Caribbean is found here, hands down. This was our second time at this resort in 3 years and will return soon.

Great Resort Overall

The Memories Caribe resort was terrific overall. Great rooms (the renovated ones), good food and fantastic staff. Beautiful beach. My only concern is the uneven risers on the stairs in my building. I tripped on the extra-high top steps and badly bruised both legs on my first day. They are dangerous and need to be fixed. Otherwise, everything was terrific. The resort makes an effort to ensure your stay is as good as it can be.

Very Relaxing and Clean Resort

Grounds : Beautiful grounds, very clean, and mature gardens. Beach: Very clean !, beautiful beach, to the right on the beach you can walk on virgin beach there are no resorts to the right, so it is a very relaxing beautiful walk, no hassles to buy items, only the random fellow vacationer that you will meet walking - The beach is quite wide so there is lots of space to relax in a lounger without having people walking by your constantly. -The water was calm, and clear, lots of f [... read more]ish and sand bars that you could walk too easily. -Lots of beach loungers so you never had to look for a lounger. - 2 bars directly on the beach, and a pizza place right on the beach ( good pizza) - If you are diamond club they will bring you drinks and they are very attentive in refilling your drink, and very friendly Pool: Beautiful as well, the Foam party is a must.. so much fun :-) - swim up bar, pina colada bar, coffee and ice cream bar, snack bar all round the pool area. - lots of loungers and space around the pool so you are not crowded. Food: Very good for Cuba.. the fried rice was the best, and the al a cartes were fantastic - The buffet was layed out wonderfully, no long lines for food, everything was set up in stations, bread, fruit, desserts, main, pasta and fried rice, very good, the food was always replenished quickly ( always bacon ) - The servers were very prompt to brink drinks, or anything that you requested. - Very clean, especially for a buffet. Staff: Very friendly and helpful ! always very kind ! Very organized, we filled out our check in info on the bus to the resort, so when we arrived they had everything ready,they just had to check us in and give us the room keys. They took our bag directly to our rooms which was great !, and when we had to check out they came and picked up our luggage and took it to the front desk for us. Very good service. Rooms: Very clean, has a renovated room with a king size bed, and a beautiful balcony that over looked the salt water lagoon ( awesome, not smelly). - Electronic safe so you enter in your own code.. no hassle of carrying a safe key. - Air conditioner worked very well, fridge worked well, was restocked daily with water, beer, and pop. - 110 plug ins but be careful they produce alot of power so you can burn out you charger, or hairdryer - Hair dryer in the room Only downside was that there is no door on the bathroom ? wide open to the shower, sink, toilet, and room ? so take note privacy is low. Snack Sports Bar: Very clean, always had French fries ( very good not greasy), and great drinks, open 24 hrs, awesome coffee for early morning risers. Drinks: All very good, and presentation was always great ! not your average resort drinks at all, Lobby bar had the best drinks real pina coladas with coconut and pineapple... yum ! Entertainment: the Dancers and entertainers where amazing ! a very good show every night, if you are into shows. There is no disco or dancing, and most entertainment stopped around 10:00 pm. There is a disco in a cave about 25 mins from the resort that you can go to for 25 CUC.... heard it was okay.. nothing too special.. but fun. Location: 20 mins from the airport... which was wonderful !!!! , it was about 15 mins on the double decker bus to the closest market, average market.. .. not as big as Varadero markets, but very nice. Animals: Also note that there is a pink flamingo named Roberto that is on the resort very friendly, and there are a few cats on the resort that look healthy and are friendly and seem quite happy :-). Did not see any geckos or sun dogs at this resort. We did have one night that the mosquitos where bad, but it was on the beach for a beach supper early evening. This is a great resort to relax and to be pampered, demographics of guest would be 35ish to 70ish.. so it was a mature crowd. Would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to just relax and hit the beach, not so much for anyone who wants to explore or is into night life. Perfect downtime resort :-)

Great Resort

Room was awesome, service wonderful, grounds perfect, great beach(clean), pool awesome, lot's of lounge chairs all day, food so so same thing all the time, more fresh vegetables for salads. Public washrooms need more attention ran out of toilet tissue every day.

Nice and Quiet!

When I look for a resort I look for small and quiet, I go away to RELAX! And that is exactly what I found at Memories Caribe. It was clean, we didn't have any issues with food. The only small issue was the comfort of the bed and the lack of water pressure, other then that it was awesome. We would definitely go back.

Great resort and amazing vacation!

Memories Caribe is one of the cleanest resorts I've stayed. The grounds are impeccably taken care of, the rooms are newly renovated - at least the one where we stayed - and kept in perfect condition. The beds are very comfortable, and the interior is quite pleasant. The staff work really very hard to make the stay truly memorable. We went for long walks miles and miles [... read more] along the shore and were mesmerized by the beauty of nature, tides, variety of wildlife and abundance of very private nooks and spaces. The resort as well as the whole island of Cayo Coco is a very safe place, so there's nothing to worry about when you off for a long and relaxing stroll outside of the resort. The food is simple but fine: I found lots of healthy choices, as well as not very healthy yet delicious that we all treat ourselves with while at home in Canada, e.g. pizza, fries, hotdogs, etc. There are a few a la carte restaurants and bars, a buffet restaurant, a snack bar open 24/7, a beach bar, a swim-up bar at the pool and an ice cream parlour. The resort itself is neither too big nor too small, which makes it walkable yet not boring. The resort has a bank where you can exchange money. After hours, you can get Cuban pesos at the front desk as well. There's also a little store on the resort, so if you forgot something at home, you can always buy it there.

Very nice for 3 days

Beautiful resort! Gorgeous beach! Good drinks and evening entertainment. Staff were friendly for the most part, although difficult to understand (speaking fast with a thick accent). The food got a little boring, but it was fine for 3 days. It was a bit annoying to have to run around the whole resort making reservations for things - you couldn't just do everything at the front desk. There was a separate place to make dinner reservations, spa reservations, water sports reservations. A lot of  [... read more]things closed early - like 5pm. Even the gym. The gift shop and snack bar were open late though. The mosquitoes were vicious at night - bring deet! The grounds staff came around spraying some kind of pesticide in the bushes at dinnertime, which kind or ruined my dinner. We had some problems with our room - they didn't realize that there were 3 people staying in our room, so we had to ask for extra water, toilet paper, an extra bath towel, and a cot. The room also didn't have a bathroom door or shower curtain, which made showering and going to the toilet quite awkward. The resort doesn't seem very high-tech; lots of daily business was conducted with paper and pen. No big deal though.

A resort where the memories are made

Memories Caribe where the memories are sure to be made. The friendly staff start off your day of relaxation. The amazing beach, allowing you to walk miles out to see all that it has to offer. The pool giving you a place to just relax and take a load off. While the entertainment group make sure that you never go bored. Around every corner there is something to see or something to do. Memories Caribe, the place where your memories are sure to last.

Great Resort

Grounds were clean and well cared for, as were the dining rooms and beach area. Piano Bar area could use airing out, or maybe time for refurbish as there is a stench in the closed off glassed bar that makes you want to puke as the door closes behind you as you walk in. Other bars were good and attendants were friendly and attentive, but near end of our week became aggressive towards tipping (ASKING for absurd amount) overall our group of 26 had a good week I think.

Good resort

People were great! I always found something to eat so food was good. Grounds were clean. Could have had more water in rooms and it would have been nice to have a stocked fridge. Resort does need some fixing up but other than that I had a great time!

Memories Caribe in Cayo Cocowas out

Fast check in Roberto, the resident pet flamingo was entertaining around the pool. Really enjoyed the paino bar, great Spanish coffee and great entertainment Most days we didn't have toilet paper in the public bathrooms, at least one would be out, very inconvinient to say the least. We had a late departure, and we were able to stay a few hours more in our room, such a great service to have, be ready to pay 10 CUC, but worth every penny. Fantastic beach!

Great time!

Had a great week! Food was good, rooms were clean, entertainment enjoyable, staff very friendly and accommodating! Only downside, we had two 3 quarter size beds that were not even close to comfortable! But would definitely go back! March 4 - 11/17

Fantastic Beach Holiday

The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We were treated like royalty. This resort has a must see Beach! The food was great. You will fall in love with " Roberto" the resident poolside flamingo. He will keep you entertained as he dances to the Cuban music. I would definitely stay here again.

Great tome.

This was a good place to vacation. Clean well kept grounds, good food and friendly staff. I also like the fact it was adults only. The entertainment was excellent. The only complaint I had was the mustiness of the rooms. I realize this is hard to control when you are so close to the ocean and we were only in our rooms at night.

Nice resort

This resort was nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A lot of renovations were taking place while we were there. The beach was nice and the staff on the beach were all amazing!!! They really went above and beyond for our group. We spent the majority of our time at the beach.

Nice resort

Service was good, and the people were very nice. I've seen better beaches but was definitely still a good beach. And the food seems to be the same everywhere in Cuba, you can find something you'll like at the buffet.
