Hyatt Vivid Grand Island: Beautiful, refreshing and excellent
The resort was very clean and beautiful. We availed of the vantage club option which provided access to the roof top pool, a private bar / snack area and the vantage club suites.
Food was fantastic, we made reservations for each evening but also had success at walk ins when we were unsure of what we wanted that night. The quality of food was high and if portions were less than expected, you can always order more! The service was fantastic and prompt.
Drink options and daytime snacking opti[... read more]ons were also great. Guadalupe and Jesus made the best team for ceviche and the taco truck.
Overall, the resort was beautiful, lots of options for food, activities, and drinks. Highly recommend.

Paradisus Cancun: Paradisus Cancun
Nice hotel. Except layout of where our room was located. We had to go up the stairs across and down the stairs to reach our room. Love the bracelet room key. Not enough lounge chair at the pool and beach. Had to get up at 5 am to reserve lounge chair. Enforce time limit when people just leave towel on chair. Friendly staff. Good food selection. No shallow end at pool. Rooms are dated.

Riu Cancun: Riu Cancun February 2025
We went to the Riu Cancun All Inclusive Adult Only for two weeks in February 2025. We have returned rather disappointed. This is partly due to our fault of not booking something for ourselves earlier. We are two seniors who love to dance, enjoy music, swimming, walking etc.
Resort: This is a large resort ( number of rooms). It is a concrete structure with not
much greenery surrounding it. For some reason there is an echo in the
reception area and in[... read more] the restaurants. Everything is very loud. The Resort
was very clean.
Staff: The staff in all sections of the Resort worked very hard to satisfy our needs.
They were all kind and helpful.
Entertainment: Most of the evening entertainment was geared to a younger crowd.
Over two weeks we saw 4 shows that appealed to us. Almost no
" English" music as played. The music in the Disco was good, but
with the Fog Machine smoke and drinks spilled on the dance floor, we
were unable to dance/stay.
Every week there is a Pink Party, White Party and Purple Party held
at the Riu Caribe. A shuttle transports you back and forth. People
dress in pink, white or purple clothes. They get their faces painted.
At the Caribe the party is in a shallow pool. Everyone has a drink and
the music is very loud. A large bubble machine or two, squirt bubbles
into the pool. There are VIP seats around this pool. Not sure who
gets to use them. We were not allowed in that area. These parties did
not appeal to us at all.
Washrooms: There were very few washrooms. There were no washrooms near the
pools or the restaurants.
Beach: There was one beach that was rocky. You could not swim there. However,
it was a relatively quiet and peaceful space. Did not have many chairs and
even fewer umbrellas. There was another beach, but the waves were pretty
rough. It either had a yellow flag or red flag. There were a limited number
of chairs and a few umbrellas.
We walked along the beach past the Riu Palace and a number of other
resorts and came upon a beautiful beach where we could really swim.
We sat under a tree, on the sand. We spent our mornings and early
afternoons there.
Room: Our room was large and had a spectacular view of the water. It was kept very
clean. The decor was a little dated. We had asked for a King Size bed.
What we got was two single beds pushed together. Lovely balcony with
two chairs, a table and a clothes drying rack attached to the wall. We had to
change rooms once because of the noise from the outdoor bar that woke us
at 2 am.
Dining: The buffet restaurant was very good. You could sit and eat in an outdoor
area or inside the dining area. The Japanese A la carte restaurant was Ok.
The other two were nothing special.
Distance: As guests of the Riu Cancun we were allowed to visit to other Riu's. We
walked to the Riu Caribe. It took us almost one hour. We were not out
for a leisurely stroll.
The other Riu ( Dunamar) was going to cost us USD 30 one way. We did
not check this one out.
There are some stores outside the Riu Cancun. Downtown Cancun was
too far for us to walk.

Paradisus Cancun: Honest review!!!!!!
Feb 10-16 HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!
Cannot recommend the PARADISUS CANCUN Reserve section more!!!!! We were so spoiled.
We stayed reserve so didn’t have to worry about waking up early to leave towels for a sun chair (except one day we didn’t have the bali bed)
The free bali bed perk at the reserve section is amazing, the pool side service is top notch.
The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained (been reading about closing for maintenance soon, but we couldn’t tell) we were in pyra[... read more]mid 5.
Servers, bartenders, staff is all absolutely amazing, so hardworking and they go the extra mile always to make your time there memorable.
The personal concierge perk that comes with the Reserve is also pretty cool that allowed us to have all our dinner reservations taken care of without having to get in lines every morning to reserve tables.
The Sunset cruise, Spa day, Sal Steak house are amongst a couple of other perks that come with the Reserve section reservation that we really really enjoyed.
The overall food at all the restaurants is phenomenal, the seafood is fresh, menu is well thought of and caters to different palates. Sante (reserve only) restaurant was our favourite, views to die for!
The extremely warm and hard working staff definitely deserve a shoutout: Oscar, Cesar, Julio, Victor, Valarei, Gemma, Cynthia!!

Riu Latino: Riu Latino Mexico the perfect ADULT Resort
The Riu property is just ideal. It is not too big, easy to find your way around, the grounds an immaculate (Bravo grounds keepers, that were always working - in the heat!). The Buffet and restaurants were superb. The beach was perfect - a great walking beach that went on for miles. Lots of swimming pools for those who prefer. Entertainment was good. The main thing, however, was how pleasant the staff was. They were always smiling and willing to help.
It was our second visit and we normally do [... read more]not return to the same resort but we will definitely come back.
We would also like to thank Erin Thunder. She managed our holiday perfectly, providing information as we needed it. Thank you Erin.

Grand Oasis Cancun: The worst hotel ever!
Hotel is very old and ugly. Rooms are small and not sound proof. Beach is not swimmable, big waves and red flag all 10 days. Guests are very loud day and night so it was impossible to sleep. Food at the basic restaurants was not edible so we had to pay 1000CAD for two of us for the upgrade and that was the only good thing about this hotel. Nobody cleans the lounge beds on the beach or around the pool. I would rate this hotel as 3* max.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Great holiday
After a not very welcoming reception experience, the rest of our stay was truly enjoyable. The people working on resort were very helpful and friendly, appreciated a tip but did not seem to base their work upon this.
The beach is beautiful - fine white sand, long and felt very safe to go for a good walk. The water is warm. Lots of loungers and umbrellas at the beach and pools. No crazy games reserving chairs, which was a relief.
The resort itself is large, but if you don’t feel like walking[... read more] all of it there are frequent golf carts offering rides.
Entertainment each night with a variety of options. They have invested in the quality of entertainment, stage, etc.
Room was large, clean and comfortable.
Restaurants were great - main buffet is huge, clean and offers great variety. Lunch at the beach buffet never disappointed. Loads of choice, fresh fish to order and a lovely venue. A la cart places were all well done. .

Krystal Grand Cancun: Awesome resort!
We were pleasantly surprised with this resort. After reading some very negative reviews, we were very happy with our stay - the staff was beyond friendly and was very good to us. Food was great!! The beach was incredible...one of the best in the area from what we saw on our travel thru the week.
We stayed in the Altitude tower - our room was beautiful and clean. Jahir the bartender provided great service as well as Zacarias in the Risoto restaurant. The manager in the Risotto (sorry forgot hi[... read more]s name) was always accommodating. These guys know how to work and are so friendly. I have zero complaints on this place - would definitely come back again. Kudos to all the staff that worked very hard all week. We had a great vacation

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: OK Resort if the price is low
We have been going to this resort for the past 14 years. It was at its best back then when it was called the Great Parnassus. It has gone through a few ownership changes since then and the quality has steadily declined since. When we first started going there it was a 3.5 star and we thought it should be a 4.5 or even a 5. Now it truly should be a 3 star. There are still a lot of good things about this resort but only if the price is lower. It is a very large resort with a lot of people and no w[... read more]here near enough beach chairs to go around. Every year we go there seems to be fewer and fewer and this last time hardly any. They used to have a great adult pool area with additional chairs, two hot tubs, and no kids allowed. They have changed this to allow only people that have signed up for the time share program. This was a disappointment for us as our kids are grown up now and we continued to go to this resort as the adult pool was a high point. The food quality and variety is ok but again has declined over the years. The steak house used to have lots of options and was very good. Now there are few options and it is mediocre. You can pay out of pocket however and have an upgraded meal. This seems to be the theme of this resort now. Pay extra for things to be better or sign up for a time share to get better treatment and access to the whole resort. The staff there is the high point especially service on the the beach. The service staff is amazing. Although we probably will not go back for a tenth visit. I would recommend this place conditionally. If you can get it on sale for a 3 star price, then you will have a nice time there. If not then I would suggest trying somewhere else. I suggest to the resort to speak to the previous owners and try to restore it to its past glory.
Beach - beautiful, great service, hardly any chairs - get one by 06:30 or you won't
Pool - typical, very loud, lots of kids, lots of birds, slow service due to large area, - get a chair by 7:00
Service - great
Food - good, less variety than other resorts, a la carts are easy to go to but not great quality
Rooms - dated but nice, upgrade to the ocean view suite if the price is right it will be worth it
Value - we got it for a very good deal, as long as you find a deal on it it will be worth it

Haven Riviera Cancun: A mixed experience
The location of this resort is very convenient-just 15 minute ride from the airport and it is south of the hotel zone. This area makes it easy to walk along way on the beach. The lobby area is lovely and the check in experience went smoothly.
Our flight had been delayed so the only dining option was room service which was fine.
Overall food at the resort was good. The buffet at breakfast and lunch had several tasty options. We enjoyed the sloped entry at the “chill” pool and service at the p[... read more]ool was efficient.
Based on several past travel experiences at 5 star resorts we would not have expected to find blood stained sheets, tile falling off the walls, previously used toiletries in our room (it was toothpaste), stained and broken chairs around the pool, broken and rotting railing and stairs heading down to the beach.
I believe this resort is approximately 8 years old but it is showing a lack of ongoing maintenance.
We looked past the deficiencies and enjoyed a few days in the sun.

Royal Solaris Cancun: Medicore Resort
Overall, I would rate Royal Solaris as a 6/10. Although the staff were extremely kind and accommodating, the food was mediocre and the beach was not good for swimming. There were a lot of rocks located at the beach line and with the combination of wind and waves, swimming in the beach was rough and dangerous - definitely not suitable for children and most adults. The resort is a lot smaller than other resorts I’ve been to, but it seems that the experience was less than desirable as well. The lob[... read more]by bathroom was missing 2 out of 3 of its toilet seats and 2 out of 3 of the doors do not lock. The lobby bathroom felt more like a public bathroom than a resort bathroom and was very poorly kept. The pools were decent in terms of size and layout, however, the pool chairs are all crammed beside each other with absolutely no space to walk between them or around them. The setup of the pool chairs was actually the worst I have ever seen at a resort. There were no actual walkways, you just had to walk in front and behind people’s chairs which again, were all crammed together and extremely close to the pool so you had to be very careful not to misstep. We had to crawl to get onto some of the loungers as well due to the lack of walking space around the pools. The resort itself is very quiet with very little entertainment. The night ends early with the last bar taking drink orders by 11:45pm. There is no entertainment after this at all and nothing is open. The staff were kind and serviced our requests well, they all had great attitudes and a willingness to help. The food selection was very minimal and with no consistency in taste. The food was mediocre at best. The rooms were clean and the oceanview rooms (with balcony) are well worth the view of the stunning ocean. This is not a resort for young adults/individuals who want to dance the night away and enjoy the late night food/fun. The resort is child friendly and seems to cater more towards families. The restaurants on site were good, much better than the regular buffet food.
