El Cozumeleno Beach: Great getaway in Cozumel

This was a family holiday for my husband and 3 adult kids. We were given adjoining rooms on ground floor as requested All of us loved the grounds and beach, with many swimming pools Best of all is the bar service on the beach Food was fine, lot of variety each night, fresh fruit and enchiladas made to order, great guacamole in afternoons The staff work hard This is not a 5 star hotel but was just fine with us, above average, clean and well staffed We would definitely go back!

Zel Cozumel: awesome resort

This was our second trip to the Melia and the second was as good as the first, we will be returning again. The food is good, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the cost is reasonable. A very relaxing holiday. Oh and if you stay in the tower minimal to no kids.

Zel Cozumel: Great resort for families

This resort was very nice, staff very nice and friendly, great kids club, amazing beach but weather wasn't great so were not able to enjoy like we could do it was a good thing that there was many sports like tennis, mini golf, soccer on the beach and great walks along the beach even if weather wasn't great. Nightlife very quite so if you are looking for nightlife this resort isn't it but if you want to rest then you have all you need. Food was very good and they had a nice variety. I would highly recommend this resort the staff waz great always smiling and ready to help in any way and the food and it was very clean.The night time entertainment was awesome alor of funny acts.We really enjoyed our stay there and will probley return with more friends😎

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: We loved the resort

We loved the jungle like atmosphere. Peacocks , parrots , flamingos and Iguanas to name a few. The food was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was updated to the latest style. The Star Friends entertainment every night was fun and full of talented people. There were many excursions to take part in also. We would visit there again.

Allegro Cozumel: Very nice resort

The grounds are beautiful, they take very good care of trees, plants, flowers. 1 diver room is clean and comfortable. Nice rooms with fridge and king size bed, nice comfy bedding. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We had no problems with the resort. The food is very repetitive but okay.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Terrible Resort very poor standardsl

The food was very bad and of poor quality. No fresh fruit such as apples, bananas offered. Margarine had a vanilla flavor, obviously made local and of poor quality no butter. Food at snack bar, not replenished, and stall unattended had to find waiter to order from the kitchen. Meat offered consisted mainly of chicken, pork and little roast beef or steak OR COLD CUTS offered. The dishes, and cutlery appeared to be poorly washed and dirty, cheap paper napkins in buffet. The buffet area had mos [... read more]tly men waiters, who doubled as cleaners, but observing them clean they were the pits, The staff were more concerned about filling drinks, so they could get tips from drunken vacationers. I used self serv pop and juice stand near swimming pool and pressed juice and large bug spilled out into my cup .The drinking cups were made of plastic and since dishes looked poorly washed. how clean were these cups. I don't think the kitchen staff used javex to kill the germs. The swimming pool and hot tub were dirty, even thou I saw staff clean pool with a vacuum in the mornings. The swimming pool and hot tub which was cold needed to be shocked with chemicals to remove the bacteria from so many people swimming and peeing in the pool. Also the towels and sheets needed to be washed better, perhaps add bleach to clean them better. Little entertainment offered. My overall impression of the hotel is that they cut corners to save money and the staff working there are local poor people, who most likely live in very squalored conditions who don't have the same standard of cleanness as most Western countries. Also these men working there worked very hard to refill drink glasses to get their tips. I suspect, they must have big families to support and these resort jobs are plumb jobs to have . I will never return, this resort is a 2 rating.j

Zel Cozumel: 6th year at The MELIA Cozumel

We have made the Melia Cozumel our January getaway for the past 6 years for numerous reasons. We always stay in the 'tower' rooms (floors 4 to 12 have a great view of the water and the cruise ships going by in the distance). I find that the non-tower rooms to be a bit dated, but certainly very family friendly (close to family pool, activities, et cetera). The tower rooms are spacious and clean - excellent balcony settings; with a tiny, stocked fridge, and a coffee pot. (We have never had the r [... read more]ooms with a kitchenette / microwave, et cetera). The only concern is the lack of storage space for clothing when staying more than one week (I wish that they would bring back the dresser with drawers). Staff are A+ - although we do not utilize the children/adults games the staff are enthusiastic and keen to assist. All bar, wait, room staff are eager to please and readily greet all guests with a smile. They also remember their regulars too! (I wish more people would think to leave a tip for meal and bar service, room cleaning .... just my upbringing I guess.) Be sure to book a courtesy room (30 minutes) if you have a late departure - out of your room by noon but you can still use all amenities = a shower and change of clothes before you depart is welcome. Each year we see regular upgrades occuring to keep the Melia 'fresh' (this January we noted: new lobby furniture, many new mattresses and beds arriving in the tower, fresh painting / staining of wood buildings and doors, refurbished lower levels, et cetera) We are not really 'foodies' so I would rate the food a B+ for variety and lots of it! Each day is a different food theme, but basics always available for children and picky eaters. Breakfasts are great - lots of choices and speciality items made for you. We are not impressed with the three 'special bookings' restaurants - I have sent management an email about the set-up and delivery. We just really like the option of choosing our own food (buffet) at our own pace - who wants a schedule when on holiday? As mentioned, management welcomes input from guests and I am pleased to see that my input has resulted in a few changes that we've seen over the years at the Melia. Basically, we are a couple in our late 50s who enjoy a low key, relaxed getaway. One last point - the Melia is only a 10-15 minute drive to the airport (shuttle or a taxi for $12USD), so none of the lengthy rides after/before your flight.

Zel Cozumel: Excellent resort!!!

The hotel staff is the best part along with an amazing beach (best on the island)! The restaurants are good and the rooms are very clean. Great value for the price. We have just got back after two weeks and this was our 4th time at this resort. Would highly recommend.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Best trip to mexico so far.

Staff extremely friendly , willing to help with anything you need. There were more than enough buffet options, being a smaller resort. The beach was beautiful and never had to worry about getting a beach chair. You had to enter the water off a wharf directly off the beach. The evening entertainment was amazing considering they also worked all day doing the resort entertainment. (Pools, beach, general activities).Over all our best trip to date. This resort was beautiful. The food was very good and the staff was amazing. I found it to be a very quiet resort...too quiet for us. If you are a diver...this is definitely paradise. For us...we prefer nice beaches and a more lively atmosphere.

We were at this hotel for 2 weeks starting January 6th 2018. Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Nice and clean resort

Very nice little resort. Loved the jungle feel. Clean and comfortable room. Buffets are very good and change theme every night. A la carte restaurants are very good too (oriental is the best). The staff is very polite and I always had good service at bars or restaurants. The resort is well maintained. Pool is nice but would like to be heated. The only bad part of the resort is the beach. Terrible food at buffet! I was concerned before booking after what I had read,but was reassured by Trip Central that one of their workers went and it was good?? The entertainment wasn’t good either!! But the resort was beautiful and staff very good.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Superb resort

Have made numerous trips to Mexico and this resort is now one of my favourite.super location,beautiful grounds and wonderful service .Rooms are clean and spacious with views of the Caribbean if in the higher floors with a view of the cruise ships arrivals and departures. Only the buffets were a bit of a disappointment but we were able to satisfy our appetites .Specialty restaurants were very nice . Smaller beach area but 3 pools. Overall a great resort that we would recommend

El Cozumeleno Beach: Awesome Staff

The staff is what makes this place. Whether they are front desk, waiters, housekeeping, bartenders, groundskeepers they are amazing. I’m sorry I don’t remember all their names. One of the waiters, Angel remembered us from the other year we stayed and welcomed us back. I would say the only negative would be not much of a variety at the buffet. We are already talking about when we can go back. Thank you so much Cozumeleno staff.

Occidental Cozumel: Very nice resort

The grounds are exceptional. It's situated in a nature preserve, very mature trees, foliage, mangroves. Food was good, a la carte restaurants very good. Rooms are spacious, clean, very nice décor in the hacienda style. Pool and beach area was outstanding. Staff were polite.

Allegro Cozumel: Perfect familly resort

The hotel is amazing for small children , perfect grounds, nice staff , its small so your close to everything ! no adulte in the slides for kids so make sure they are old just enough ...love it ! The rooms are small but very nice and the buffet is small but very good !

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Tropical Resort

The grounds are beautiful. Feels like we were in the middle of a jungle. Rooms are like huts , it was hard to regulate temperate . High humidity. A downer was that we had no warning they were spraying for termites. Right next to our hut for most of the day. It stank— afraid to inhale. The people were very friendly ; entertainment was good.

Occidental Cozumel: Nice resort, could be better

This resort has the potential to be a 5 star resort. What they are lacking was , Food in the restaurants need to be upgraded. The steak they do serve is inedible and the buffets should have a better selection and maybe 2 omelette stations instead of one. The premium liquor was hit and miss, depending on whether they felt like serving it. They should also have a better wine selection. The front desk employees were very unhelpful. How is this possible? The resort itself has a wonderful layout and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. So, the bottom line, more courteous, knowledgable front desk staff.
