Memories Flamenco was a great resort. This was my fifth time in Cuba and this resort was my favourite. Beautiful beach, good variety of food at the buffet, tasty a la cartes and fantastic staff!! I would definitely return!

Not the best resort...
There are very few activities to do at night and the club isn't in the resort and isn't free. There are too much mosquitos at the resort that will give you many bites. The food is not very tasty, especially at the a-la-carte restaurants. The snack bar doesn't have a lot of choices. The best part of the resort is the beautiful beach they have, which also has part of a coral reef/fish there. Overall, this resort is not the best.

Great vacation
Memories Flamenco had great service, beautiful grounds/gardens, amazing weather, nice pool (very clean and extremely well-maintained) and really good food given the limits that are the reality in Cuba. Great buffet with healthy options and a wonderful a la carte staff.
The rooms were clean - a few minor issues (small crack in tile) but nothing serious. Yes, the beds are a little hard, but they upgraded the pillows this year and that made a difference as well.
The upgrade in widening the [... read more]beach was a wonderful surprise compared to last year. It is an absolutely beautiful beach in any case. Never a shortage of space or loungers.
Some areas to improve would be in the gym (i.e. a treadmill broke, there are often no glasses to drink water from - they get used up quickly, no toilet paper in bathrooms, etc. - or bathrooms are sometimes left un-cleaned) it's a real inconvenience for customers. If equipment breaks - which can happen to any company - it's important to acknowledge it and put a sign on it to advise that it's being taken care of. One day there was significant rain and water all over the floor through a leak in the wall. Staff was there in the gym but they're often working out and it doesn't seem to be their job to clean it up. It was definitely a slip hazard for guests.
The other area would be maintenance of bathrooms. In general, the cleaning staff is working quite hard to constantly clean the bathrooms throughout the resort - so that's not the problem. The problem is that in many cases the stall doors won't lock, several sinks won't work, there are no towels/or working hand dryers, the toilet paper holder may be falling off the wall (or missing altogether) - issues like that. Canadians really care about bathrooms with all the basics: cleanliness - which is already good, but also always having toilet paper, a locking door and clean and dry hands. Many of the public area bathrooms did not have these things due to broken equipment. It's enough to pull down the star rating of the hotel over time. Which is really too bad as the hotel is otherwise fabulous!
If these minor things are addressed I'm sure Memories Flamenco will resume their 4.5-5 star status on trip advisor in no time!
The entertainment was excellent as well. Drinks are great. Overall a great experience and we'd definitely go again (was our second trip and this time it was for two weeks).

Just ok
A group on 8 of us stayed in May 2017.
The Good - nice huge white sand beach
-they played good rock music and games round the pool
The Bad- Food , I'd have to say in my over 20 all inclusive resort stays this resort had the worse food . There was only the one buffet restaurant and the food was the same variety everyday.
Mosquitos were bad day and night especially our last 2 days.

Not an Amazing Resort
First off, the layout of the grounds is not very well planned, it is disorienting to say the least.
We had to ask for a room change because it was too far from the beach and everything else.
Food was definitely sub par. They do not even serve coconut juice/water!
Balcony door was broken. Balcony lamp was not working either. Desk lamp was missing. Supplies such as bath soap and coffee were not replenished. None of these were attended to despite our requests.
We had to pay to get into the disc[... read more]o house including drinks.
The beach itself was nice though, plus the nightly entertainment.
Overall, it was not worth the hard earned money we paid for the place.

The Beach is 5 star....
I just came back from this resort and unfortunately I was disappointed in my experience. The beach is breathtaking and truly the saving grace for this resort!
Needs renovations, customer service from front desk/bartenders & gift shop was full of attitude and poor professionalism. Housekeeping staff fantastic, ground keepers very friendly but the gardens still lacked attention. Waitstaff for the most part are very friendly and attentive! Food and drink quality is not very good but there is enoug[... read more]h variety to satisfy most. Decent place for families with children.

Fantastic resort, good food, amazing beach!
The resort is big enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel comfortable. We had a junior suite with ocean view on the 2nd floor - fantastic view with the beach only 100 m away, would definitely recommend asking for a room facing the water, such a nice relaxing sound hearing the waves... Food was very good, in particular the fish, omelettes and chicken. Lots of choice with many changing/new choices every day so we quite enjoyed our meals and didn't feel we had to eat the same th[... read more]ing all the time. Two reservations were already made for us at two of the three a la carte restaurants, and both meals were excellent. This was my first time in Cuba, I was told the food would not be very good but it was quite the opposite! Nightly shows were amazing, with a very talented group of dancers, and the last night we got treated to an amazing rock band, what a show!

Newer management doesn't live up to the reputation it had
The resort grounds are still lovely, the staff are still friendly. This was my 6th visit and I found it lacking in the personal touch this time. No management to be found anywhere. I requested months and months in advance for a bungalow in either 2 or 3 block. I understand it's only a request but in spite of my request, or because of it, we were given bungalow 5. A much further walk than we anticipated. They did find another room for us the next day in bungalow 1 but it meant packing up again an[... read more]d we couldn't go until 4 pm. Other guests we met during our visit booked their holiday a couple of weeks prior to leaving and they received bungalow rooms in 2 block. And they didn't request anything. Also, the entire week, at least once a day our card keys to enter our room, whether in 5 block or 1 block didn't work and we had to go back to the front desk and get it reswiped. I felt like this was done out of spite because they were put out by our requests. I've never been treated this horribly by any staff in any resort in Cuba before and we've travelled to Cuba 30 times. They were always running out of things. No pizza, no ham or cheese for their sandwiches at the grill. The assortment of food was less than any other time also. No toilet paper or clean towels either. This is quite normal and we've brought extra tp and towels with us so it wasn't an issue for us. We ordered a grilled cheese at the grill one day and received a small plate with melted cheese on it. No bread, just melted cheese? The language barrier with some of the newer staff is quite challenging. I was sure they hired only those that spoke and understood English but we encountered a large barrier this time. The dinner for repeat guests was never offered to us nor was any ala cartes. This is also very unusual. We've always enjoyed this special attention that the hotel has offered in the past. We had to ask about it a customer service and were told that the seating for the repeaters was booked. Nice! Also, we were only given a choice of three restaurants for ala carte. The mediterain, Cuban or Asian. I asked about the steal house, because I've been there before and I know there is one. We were told no, and she repeated the three choices. Found out later in the week that yes there is a steak restaurant from other guests. Why the lying? If it was booked up, well okay. But why tell us they have no steak house? Turns out it wasn't good anymore so I guess it was just as well. The hotel isn't totally all inclusive either. If you want an ice cream sandwich you need to pay for it at the grill and then they will unlock the pad lock and get one for you? This was free before. Also they sell the good beer by can at the beach and give away the awful stuff on tap. The beach has been cleared of all the coral and it is massive and gorgeous. The best part of the entire stay was this beach. The diamond club is a big waste of money and I felt like guests were segregated because of it. They offer a late check out for repeat guests and that was the same as my other prior visits. We never received a complimentary bottle of rum in our room and overall I would say this was my worse experience at this resort. I've always recommended this resort and have sent 30-40 people to it. I honestly won't be able to recommend it anymore. They just don't look after their guests anymore. I'm sorry to say goodbye to my home away from home but we won't be returning to any memories resorts anymore. I'd rather pay a bit more and be treated like I matter. Good bye Memories Flamenco!!

Great Vacation Resort
The resort was clean, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only slight complaint may be about the food. They had the same food all week. Maybe they should have changed it up. But all in all it was wonderful. I would go back.

Great Resort
First time in Cayo Coco and I loved it. The beach was absolutely amazing and lots of loungers no matter what time you went down at. The pools well were pools same thing lots of loungers. The grounds were kept very clean and the washrooms as well. The food had to be one of the best I have had so far in Cuba and I have been to Cuba 4 times. The beach was nice, food and drinks were good and service was amazing. The hotel is a good size, no bungalow is too far away from anything but it isn't too small. The staff work very hard to keep the rooms and grounds clean, and keep you happy. Great place to stay for families.

Amazing beach!
This was our first trip to Cuba. We are a family of 5- kids are 12,10,8.
We did a lot of research as we were nervous about the food and some of the inconsistencies we had heard when visiting Cuba. Flying into Cayo Coco was good. The best part was 20 mins to the hotel. Check in was good and my requests ahead of time via Facebook were accommodated. The grounds were nice it was dry so it took its toll on the grass but that's the weather! Some observations was that there was occasional debris aroun[... read more]d the back of building or fence lines but not a major issue just casual observance. The pool area was great lots of chairs coming early (by 9:00) helps to secure spots. Most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Lots of cabanas and chairs. Apparently more are being added- for additional shade. The walk to the point is well worth it! Beautiful view and secluded. Night entertainment was very good! Michal Jackson show a must but I thought they were all good. We are mostly at the buffet. If you like something eat it that day! It's not always available as is the way for an island. Smoothies and omelets in the am, steak chicken or pizza for lunch. Have some made to order pasta for supper. Want to add more to the grill? Get it from the buffet and they'll add it! Very humble grateful people. Lobby bar made excellent espresso, lattes and capucinos add some baileys or Cuban equivalent for a kick! Live music, prelude to the show in the afternoon to raise excitement. Ate at the Cuban restaurant but preferred the variety of the buffet. The snack bar made some pizza almost daily and offered sit down options and some take away items from the chaffing dishes. Great if you want a quick bite. They had ketchup but not at every meal. We brought toilet paper, peanuts butter and our own ketchup. Lots of ice cream. Room was clean, service was good. There's not abundant amount of extra beer and pop for fridge but adequate. We brought our own inexpensive towels and just left behind. You can use hotel room towels but we didn't want to misplace them. We did horseback riding along the beach for 45 minutes for 10 CUCs about $13.00. A great time spent. I think if you can go with the flow, be flexible and understand everything isn't always shiny but it is clean, you'll be well suited for Cuba. It's a family resort so if you want some day time swimming and a little night entertainment this is a great spot. The people were kind and very hospitable. Such a beautiful place!

Lovely Resort
The resort is only 15 minutes from the airport, which is very nice particularly when flights are often very early or very late. Food at the buffet and a la carte restaurants was wonderfull, no complaints here. Other than your personal check in a late check out and a special poolside dinner, diamond club does not really add anything special to your trip. The resort staff are friendly and always willing to help. The beach is amazing, secluded and you can walk for miles! Poolside is is lively an[... read more]d fun. The evenings were relaxing in the lobby bar or courtyard with a wandering 3 person Cuban band playing. While most resorts have rather cheesy evening shows, the shows at Memories Flamenco were worth the watch. The rooms were clean and tidy, not what we Canadians would call 5 star but quite nice and adequate for our stay. Lots of water pressure in the shower, the toilet was a bit of a mystery at times worked perfectly other times would take for ever for the tank to fill and be ready for use, but always worked at some point. Upgrade to VIP on the way home for 25 pesos, it is worth it! No long cues at the airport, private lounge, with snacks and beverages as well as pre seating on the plane, a nice touch ending a totally relaxing vacation. This resort is definitely a family resort or for those looking to relax in a casual fun atmosphere. The only thing missing was a dance club, but after evening shows there was a shuttle to one near by. Overall this is a lovely resort, not overly priced.

Great resort!
We had a fun time at Memories Flamenco! The location of our room was perfect ~ close to the lobby, beach and theatre. The view from our room was spectacular, overlooking the quiet pool. The maid did a good job on cleaning our room, and our fridge was restocked daily. However, we did have some issues with the AC, which was fixed within a couple of days. The service overall was great, most staff going out of their way to please you. The food at the buffet could see some improvement as it was repet[... read more]itive and not always hot. The beach was amazing, never any problem finding a lounge chair, and the entertainment during the day was great, however, the shows in the evening were just ok. Great Vacation resort!
We returned from this resort on Friday April 14 early hours, and will definately be coming back one day in the future for a week to hopefully complete some of the other excursions that we were not able to complete! There are a couple of things that I think would make the resort a little more smoother to ensure everyone's enjoyment though, for example: it is impossible to get a seat at the pool as people go to the pool put their towels down on chairs and then go to breakfast and/or an excursion [... read more]for the day and return to their reserved chairs. I think there should be a policy about this and/or some kind of reserve policy that can be done to ensure that everyone gets a chance to sit at the pool comfortably rather thank fighting for a chair just to enjoy a swim. On another note, it would be helpful to have a little better staff attention at the snack bar particularly after 10pm at night since there were a few times we had to go up to the bar to get our drinks and order our food since none of the staff were coming over and there was definately plenty of them wandering around and talking.
On a happier note the buffet, and a la carte restaurants were amazing with a variety of food to please everyone's pallet. The rooms were adequate however it would have been helpful if we had gotten the king suite that we had reserved instead of the two (junior twins) we received. Being part of the diamond club we cannot say enough about the beach service as it was GREAT and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the people were friendly that we met. There are a few things as part of the diamond club that need to be revised in your advertising as the Flamenco did not offer robes in your room as advertised etc.......but this is definately not going to stop us from coming back.
A great week away, and thoroughly enjoyed the nightly entertainment especially the Michael Jackson tribute, it was amazing! The dancers definately work very hard night to please everyone and they pull it off like pros!
Thanks Memories Flamenco Beach!
See you again!
