Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary at Grand Memories

A very beautiful resort with very friendly staff. Everyone is so genuine, kind, caring and helpful. I would definitely recommend Santa Maria Grand Memories and Sanctuary to my close friends and family and would come back again.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great resort

This resort was wonderful. I would go again. The staff was very friendly. The entertainment staff were excellent. There was always something to watch and do. If you like home cooked meals then this is the place. I really liked their buffet. The drinks were great. The bar had a lot of variety of cocktails. The pools were clean and full of entertainment. The beach water was choppy and a lot of seaweed would come up shoreline. The staff would clean it twice daily. This was due to the wea [... read more]ther. The only recommendation I would suggest is to bring mosquitoe spray. Again its the tropics and most tropical places have mosquitoes. I would go to this resort again.

Barcelo Solymar: Barcello solamar

I'll start off by saying all the staff were great aseral is amazing guy who brought me to my room but all the front staff and security were great not big on the food but I ate out at restaurants mostly and I do understand it's tough for Cuba for things so very understandable .I'll be back again soon

Grand Memories Varadero: Avoid

There was no toilet paper, bottled water or clean towels on arrival. It was a challenge to get toilet paper or clean towels most of my stay. I never got any beach towels even after requesting them. I had been to this resort once before and the food was okay that time. The quality of the food has gone done considerably. My toilet seat was hanging by a thread. My room was not made up when I arrived. The nightly shows were considerably worse than my previous visit. Management seemed to not [... read more] care at all about guests. I fell on my third day there on a water covered floor. Had to get 11 stitches on my head. No one at the resort seemed to care. STAY AWAY.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Home sweet Home

This resort is our second home. We have being going to this resort since 2013. The staff are amazing. Didn't see one mosquito. The food is the food. Did ala carte dinners, went to 24 hour for breakfast. The beach is beautiful, the sun is hot and the beer is cold. Rooms are clean. Can't wait to return next year.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Awesome Resort!

This was an amazing resort to stay at. It was always clean, the staff were extremely kind, the food was delicious, and the beach was beautiful. I fully recommend to go to Grand Aston in Varadero if you're thinking about going to cuba!!

Melia Cayo Coco: Nice quiet resort

Resort is smaller and quiet, not a a lot of activities, crowd is a bit older. Food was good for Cuba, staff friendly. Beach is very nice water was warm, one pool very large, tiles in the pool were a bit slippery. Not much for nighttime entertainment, nothing after 11pm

Melia Cayo Coco: A week in paradise

This was our third visit to Melia Cayo Coco. We have been to other resorts in Varadero since our last visit here and still find this to be the best resort. The beach is wide, powdery and kept in great condition by the staff. The animation staff are lots of fun and make an effort to get to know the guests. The vibe is relaxed and the resort is not too big (250 rooms) so it never feels over crowded. In the evenings there is musical entertainment every night in the lobby followed by an evening [... read more] show. The bars are good and well stocked. The food is very good by Cuban standards (meaning they have supply issues beyond their control. They do a great job with what is available). We really enjoyed the International and Cuban a la carte restaurants.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Definitely would go back

Must admit we were a little apprehensive about returning to Cuba, but I must say if you go with an open mind and a go with the flow attitude, you will experience the most beautiful beaches and amazing people ever. The hotel was clean, the food in the specialty restaurants was very impressive, and the people work extremely hard to make sure your needs are met

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing hotel!

To be honest I fall in love with this hotel. Its a small hotel well taken care of. The food was excellent for Cuban standard. I liked all of the dinning restaurants and the entertainment in the main lobby.The beach is fantastic and I always found a empty lounge chair.Will definitely come back.Also I travel solo.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Pleasant

The staff and service were really good it was clean, the food was what I expected in Cuba, there is a fair bit to do in the area Some nice restaurants not far off the resort, my least favourite part was the beach being a bit rocky as you waked out, not everywhere and nothing some water shoes couldn’t take care of all in all a great vacation

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice resort

Nice resort, well maintained grounds, friendly staff. decent food, good service, big clean rooms. We have returned to this resort many times in the last fifteen years and hope to return again sometime in the future.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful and relaxing - solo trip

I had a wonderful experience at this resort. I highly recommend going if you’re looking to relax. The crowd seemed to be largely 40+ with a mix of couples and solo travellers. It was an hour bus ride from the airport. I was surprised to find that my room had been upgraded to the ‘Royal Service’ section. The Royal room was incredibly nice, large closet, spacious bathrooms and tub and the outdoor shower was the best I’ve ever seen. The Royal restaurant had great al a carte food options. The Royal  [... read more]pool and beach were definitely quieter and more relaxed but great if you want the privacy. The main pool was large and had music and activities everyday. The main beach had a good spot for snorkeling and a hut to request equipment or go sailing. The food at restaurants was presented beautifully on the plates. I wasn’t expecting anything much from the cuisine in cuba, but it tasted pretty good. I highly recommend the Japanese experience. The entertainment was great, the dancers were so fun to watch. The resort grounds were well kept and had some nice paths for going on a walk. There’s also a small horse ranch just over the bridge with a few animals. They offer horse rides through trails or on the beach. The animals looked rather skinny, but the riding experience was pleasant! The gym was decent with a small selection of equipment, and free weights. The spa unfortunately was under renovation. The staff were all very friendly and provided exceptional service.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Good resort and beautiful beach!

Memories Flamenco is a wonderful resort and was the destination of our first family trip to Cuba. We truly love Cuba and its people, and we already planning to return. It is important to have realistic expectations. This is Cuba, and many people are facing challenges. You should visit the REAL CUBA, the nearest town then, you will able to see the other side of the moon. The entertainment team works very hard to make guests feel welcome and to create memories and smile. Staff members across all departments-gardeners, cleaners, reception, management, bar and service staff-do their best to provide quality service. The food is decent, and there is always enough to eat. once again, travelers should keep in mind the realities of the destination. If someone has very high expectations, they may wish to consider a higher priced alternative elsewhere. I love Cuba and appreciate the warmth and dedication of its people!

Grand Memories Holguin: I will come again

Polite staff, good food including every day seafood. Loud music by swimming pool is only between 3-5 pm. If you don't like it , the long beach provide excellent escape with the bar in sufficient distance from swimming pool "noise".

Melia Marina Varadero: Very Impressed!

This resort exceeded our expectations. The grounds and superstructure are beautifully manintained. The room was renovated, clean and quiet. The mattress was new and very comfortable resulting in excellent sleep quality. We were on the 4th floor and had an ocean view even though we paid for a standard room. The way the resort is constructed and situated, I believe all rooms that were high enough had such a view. Staff were engaging, very friendly and hard working. The beach and pool were h [... read more]ighlights with plenty of loungers available at any time of the day and zero beach vendors. The week we were there (11-18 Dec) mosquitos were a non-issue and the weather was perfect ... 25-27 degrees during the day and 20-22 at night with no humidity. We didn't even need the a/c at night! There were absolutely NO SHORTAGES. Lots of food including fresh vegtables and proteins, no electricity issues whatsoever, and the beer, wine, and spirits were readily available. There is room for improvement, however, as the food is somewhat repetitive and food temperature at the buffet was inconsistent. The gym also needs to be updated as the equipment is old and lacking. I can't recommended this resort enough, especially given the price point. Star ratings are highly subjective but this is one of the nicest resorts we have been to in the 4 star range in the Caribbean, including Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Staff never disappoints

Tryp was our first visit to Cuba 16 years ago. Many changes over the years, but the staff is always warm, welcoming and friendly. The grounds are always manicured. The pool is always clean and inviting. The beach is fantastic. The food selection has taken a hit over the years, but there is always something tasty to be found. The resort partner (I believe it is Spain) has ruined the buffet cutting it down to half the size.....the atmosphere has suffered and the A/C no longer does the job. Insect in all parts of Cuba seem to be more of a problem in the past, probably due to the ongoing shortages in the country. Rooms are dated (resort is 40 years old) but they are kept very clean and everything was in working order.The animation team works hard to keep things fun at the pool in the afternoon. Other choices for meals are 4 ala carts (only one open per night right now) Cuban, International, Italian and Chinese. We managed to hit them all this visit and the food was good considering the cost of the vacay. The new beach grill is a relaxing choice for lunch. Cuba is not for everyone, but if you aren't overly picky, the beach, the pool, and especially the service will chilax you.Shout out to Osmany at the buffet grill, Erlin at the swim up bar, William, at the Buffet, Adrianna at the front desk, Willy and Ricardo at the new Beach Grill!!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Disappointed

Overall the hotel, grounds and people are wonderful. Unfortunately the shortages of food and supplies are beyond the control of the hotel personnel. The people of Cuba are wonderful hard workers and are doing their best to create a GREAT guest experience with what little supplies they are receiving to work with.
