The hotel occupies a large area and has 9 residential buildings, each with 24 units in 3 stories arranged around a huge rock formation. The web listing shows: 44 Luxury Oceanview Rooms 39 Luxury Oceanfront Rooms. There is no indication as to which [... read more] building and which floor each of these listings applies. Our assigned “Luxury Room Oceanview” was 14302, at the top of the property and on the 3rd floor. The 3 main restaurants are located in the main building which means that an 88 year old woman with arthritis and a 90 year old man were obliged to walk 320 steps and 84 steps on staircases, up and down, 3 times each day in 30 degree temperatures.There are no elevators or escalators on the property. We were able to access the beach area only twice during our stay. ( There are electric carts for transportation within the grounds but, the wait times are long as it seems that only I or 2 are available at any time. At checkout, the bell captain made a reservation for a cart to take us and the luggage to the lobby; no cart was available and we had to walk with a porter dragging our luggage down to the lobby.) The room listings should provide an indication of the building location and the floor level of each price listed. Our “Luxury Room Oceanview” was a very standard room having no second chair, no mirror in the bed area. There was mold in the shower stall. AC 1337 –Return flight At times there was a steady stream of Economy Class passengers coming through the dividing curtains to use the Business Class washroom. At such times the Business Class washroom was unavailable to us. No effort was being made by the Cabin Crew to confront this ingress. Leonard Ross Floyd

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

I sent a previous review, but I don't think it went through....so here it is again. We spent 10 days at Royalton Sante Maria (March 2024) and were taken back by what we experienced. The resort was more than we expected. Our room was great, very clean and looked after superbly by the cleaning staff. The two butlers we had; Andrew & Ariel were so helpful and provided us with everything we requested. The service staff especially; Leticia & Lilibet at the Eggcelence restaurant were both fantastic s [... read more]ervers. All service people were (English speaking) and conducted themselves perfectly and made your feel most welcome. Special 'kudos' to Leo the Entertainment Manager who turned out to be a super friend. He provided the guests in the main lobby with various entertainment ensembles each night. And, Danillo in the Jungle bar was so nice to us and even provided a cribbage board for me to beat my wife on. The beach area was beyond beautiful - the nicest beach we ever had the chance to enjoy in our 21 yrs of traveling in the Islands. The food was very acceptable. You could always find something that pleased you, especially pizza for lunch and soup for dinner accompanied with various meat / salad selections. Hats off to Alex (resort manager) and his management staff who took total care of everything in making us feel special. Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Very nice!

It is been my first time vacationing at Royalton Luxury Resort. Very professional, friendly staff - well mannered, organized and helpful. I liked the gym/aqua activity coordinators, lots of ENERGY! Very clean environment beautiful gardens. Food and service in restaurants also very good. Excellent place for vacationing.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

We just came back from visiting the Royalton Hicacos for 7 days (Mar. 3 to 10). This is a Large Resort. There was nothing missing .... Plenty to eat and Drink... Plenty of Chairs, Polapas, Umbrellas and room for all on the Beach... The Staff were Incredable and Kind as usual.... the a la Cartes were Great, Amazing Delicious Food. The Butlers met us daily to see if they could help us in any way ... I would go back ....Cheers to All the Staff ...!!!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great vacation at Royalton Bavaro

This is our second time at this resort in as many years and again, we we're not dissapointed. From the the rooms to the restaurants/food and staff, all were enjoyable. Will likely go back next year!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: OK stay - first and last visit

Positives - the people. DC Butlers like Omar, Leo, and Laura will do their best to care for you, but some things are just out of their control. Omar & Betty were always available, asking if we needed anything. Their efforts were appreciated. They looked after all the al a carte bookings (we ate al a carte almost every night, for 2 weeks), and helped us book excursions (golf & Havana) Raul at the buffet (outside on the patio) is friendly & polite. Jessica, the maid, was attentive and kind. The ro [... read more]om was fine. Some things broken or very tired. The room had a decent shower (hot water & pressure) and a reasonable bed. It was all we needed in a room. The unfortunate thing about our room was that we were in a building with mostly smokers, who would sit on their patios and light up. Meaning we were driven inside, which was too bad. It would be great if non-smoking buildings were an option. The best highlight (other than the staff) was the beach. The water is warm and clean. Beware of glass as you walk the beach…we picked up a fair amount of it. Now the disappointments, there are several, and some are beyond the control of the staff. Buffets and A la carte restaurants would run out of food menu items or drinks. One night whiskey sours were not available, next night no white wine. One morning there was no bread. The Italian restaurant has 5 options for main courses, one night we were there 2 of them weren’t available. You have to just roll with it, and make the best of the situation. We never went hungry. We needed water one evening and all the bar could offer was two small glasses (maybe 8 ounces total). My wife was sick in bed….that wasn’t going to cut it. A visit to the diamond club lounge and Omar saved the day. It took some effort but he came through with 2 precious bottles of water. We were grateful. There is no milk…just powdered milk. Coffee therefore is awful. Bar service is generally very slow, including the beach bar. We did venture into Varadero and Havana. Note to anyone who plans to do so….bring lots of US or CDN cash. 3 times we dealt with vendors who basically did not accept their own pesos as currency. We had lunch in Havana and the bill came to $85USD. They did not accept credit cards, and if we were to pay in (the current) Cuban pesos they were going to charge us 3 times the price, so an equivalent to $240usd. That’s Nuts! Our worst ‘hangover’ is the bugs. We’ve been back now for a few days and we’re still scratching! We were eaten alive by something. Mosquitoes were ever present, but I’ve also read some reviews that mentioned sand fleas. Not sure what got us, but we are covered in bites! There’s more I can say, but you get the idea. The pandemic, US embargo, and current economic issues have significantly and negatively impacted Cuba, on and off the resort. You feel for the Cuban people!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: very nice resort. 9.95/10

public washrooms were always clean maid forgot to top up our bath towels twice but that was ok because they brought clean towels as soon we complained. rooms always clean. buffet was exellent, a la carte best restaurant was hunters. entertainment was fun pool and beach was great, loved walking the beach( never ends for miles). would recommend this resort over Sandels anytime for the price when you compare adult only resort.

In bad need of upgrade.diamond club a complete rip off. BUTLERS do nothing for you. Food terrible. Staff not as friendly as I have experienced elsewhere in Cuba. Access to restaurants not easy and the same awful food everywhere

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Grounds, Incredible Beach

The hotel is very well managed. Important to note, this is a 5* for CUBA. There are definitely shortages of food/drinks, toilets break down regularly, all toilet paper must be placed in waste baskets, room smells like sewage. Rooms are very large and comfortable, though tired. These are nobody's fault; this is just realistic for Cuba. The staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly. Having said that - there are MANY repeat travelers which reflects well on the resort but can feel a bit cult [... read more]like and if you're a first time guest you tend to feel a little 'less than'. Not a big deal. One evening, the table beside ours sent their food back because it came out 'cold'. Not something we would ever do. The general manager Alejandro and the chef came out and spoke to us, asking how the food was and advising if I didn't like anything to def. just send it back. The chef was shooting daggers - this was at Eggscellent. I didn't understand, yet, that he misunderstood and thought we were the couple that sent the food back. Again in the evening he approached and asked if everything turned out being okay and it was okay to send the food back. I explained it wasn't us who'd sent it back but he wasn't listening and just carried on walking. That morning, at 5 am, we received a room service order that we hadn't ordered, so - loud knocking at 5 am. I didn't think at first that this was related - and I hope not. You will not find a more beautiful beach at his cost so if that is your priority and you don't mind overlooking some shortages, okay food and tired but clean and spacious rooms, this is it. While it is a beautiful resort, I wouldn't return. Would give beach/pools 5* but lower pool is cloudy and not clean as the top pool is. The beach is a 10 out of 5.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Great vacation location!!

Resort overall, great experience. Had a couple of room issues, quickly resolved by staff in a professional and courteous manner. Would definitely consider returning and passing on experiences to friends and family.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: February getaway

Travelled to this resort with my wife and daughter. First impression wasn’t a good one. Upon checking in the staff informed me that our room wasn’t ready…after a long travel day, being told to wait in the lobby that’s the last thing I wanted to hear. Basically had to remain seated in front of guests services to ensure they didn’t overlook me and secure my room. Finally after getting our room discovered the weird layout of the room we selected..bath tub in the middle of the room…no privacy for ch [... read more]arging..would be fine if it meant for a couple but with my daughter in tow, created some awkwardness. Overall resort was good, grounds well kept, services and staff helpful and friendly and the food was decent. Only a la cart we didn’t like was the Italian restaurant which was bland. We enjoyed Hunters Steak house, food was excellent and service was good. Found that we could enjoy the buffet and the wide variety offered..only complaint was during busier times services took a dip..no plates no cups..have to look after yourself essentially or wait for till you can finally track down staff to help. Lastly the nightly entertainment was beyond disappointing…only good night was the Beatles and Michael Jackson performance. Overall would give this resort a 4 star rating, the high price we paid didn’t reflect the type of experience I expected.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Great resort

Very nice , definitely worth it. The check in process was the only thing I can complain about, they didn’t listen to our requests and had us moving around the next day even though it wasn’t still what we wanted.

The Resort was great. Pools and beach were good. Clean sand and pools never felt full. The service for food was not good. Slow service for asking for a drink at the Selections buffet. You would just never get it. No cups to get you own drinks either. Was speaking to someone in at Hunter Start to find out the price for the meal and mid asking he answers his phone so we left without getting our information.. Expected more for the food and service. The worsted part out of staying there was 8 out of our 18 people fell sick to some sort of food poising. Very disappointing.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Quality Resort

Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the staff were, warm, friendly and energetic. The nine thirty show was consistently entertaining. The resort is a great place for couples to relax and have fun but it is a civilized place, not a crazy party place.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful resort

We just got back from The Royalton Punta Cana. The resort is beautiful, service was very good and the food plentiful. We ate at many different restaurants over the week and enjoyed the Japanese one most! We had a very helpful butler Omar with the diamond club. He worked hard to get us reservations over the course of the week. Unfortunately two of us got sick during the week. More like a 24 hour bug but still no fun. Beach was lovely. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

Check in was fast. We did pre-select our room and that’s the room we received. Service was top notch, pools were clean and buffet was clean and had a great selection of food. There was always something to eat. We did the Steak House and the Italian, again great food, no delays in service.

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Amazing resort, but…

We were there February 18 to 25. The resort is beautiful, amenities are good, beach is fantastic, view from oceanfront room is fabulous. Food was not the best we had in another resorts, but was more or less okey, service was good.The important negative points: 1) room has strong smell of mold. Several other visitors of the resort confirmed the same. 2) be aware of stomach virus there. Both my husband and me got sick last day of our vacation and know other people who got sick too. The reviews fro [... read more]m month ago mentioned the same, so this problem is ongoing for some time. These two negatives are the reason we can not recommend this hotel unfortunately

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Beautiful resort

The resort itself was lovely. Staff were amazing Unfortunately it’s definitely a party resort. Being adult only we did expect some party’s. But it was pretty much all day and night. Rooms were pretty quiet so if you like to stay in your room a lot you will be ok. Pool parties every day all day long. Some days were ok

This is a tired, poorly maintained resort. The staff is great and the beach is excellent, although over crowded. The food for Lunch & Dinner is not good. Meat is over cooked. Lacks flavour. not enjoyable. Breakfast is OK except when the eggs were substituted for powdered eggs The water pressure on most days was poor (trickle of water). Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Jamaican Hideaway

The hotel was clean, bright and well maintained. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. There are a lot of restaurants with a variety of food options. Service is quick and the food was tasty. Please note that rooms are very small and a double room contains 2 single beds—not double. This was unexpected for the price of the room.
