Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great Staff

Grounds are very well kept. We were in building 17, very short walk to the beach. The room was very spacious and clean. The Japanese restaurant was the best. The food at the buffet gets tired by the end of the week, but there was a great variety. Lounging by the pool or on the beach you get in seat service from the bar which is great.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Average resort.

The grounds of the hotel is good, well maintained, nice and clean. Beach is amazing. Lobby bar is open at 8 AM-late, in most resorts in Cuba bars are open at 6AM-cup of coffee for people living early in the morning for airport. Charge for safety box in room - first time at Cuban resorts-visited Cuba 11 times. Room is nice and clean. Food is monotonous, every day is the same, luck of fruits-surprise?

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Great vacation resort

Room were perfect as well as room service, great food, well organized, top notch installations, friendly staff absolutely nothing to say against this resort. I enjoyed everything about it. Would recommend this resort to everyone

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: It's an OK resort.

The hallway lights were either very dim or no lights at all throughout the sleeping quarters. Some sections in the outside of the buildings were poorly lit as well. The staff were friendly enough most of the time.The food for the most part was adequate but sure could use some improvement. It was very bland. If one is expecting a 5 star resort, it's more like a 3.5-4 star. All in all; we had a good experience.

This was my first resort experience. We went as a family with our 2 year old for a wedding. The bad first: This resort is not at all like in looks in the photos. I think the photos were taken on opening day when it was all shiny and new, because what we saw was old and tired. Our suite smelled like a damp outhouse. Our air conditioner did not turn off. One of our toilets leaked and the other had not seat. Our power would randomly go off for hours at a time (but somehow the tv always worked!). T [... read more]he hair dryer and coffee maker in our room were both broken. Our room key didn't always work. Our patio door took two adults to force open. The food was really unimpressive. Plates, bowls and beach towels were in very short supply. The kiddie pools were either dirty or empty all week. The good: Amazing service, super friendly staff, beautiful well-kept grounds. Our suite was spacious and our housekeeper was great : our mini bar was restocked daily with pop and bottled water and we were even treated to some beautiful bed sheet creations like a peacock and a butterfly. The pools were lovely, the beach was breathtaking. The shows at the theater were well done, and the musicians, dancers and entertainers performing throughout the day were fantastic. The wedding we attended was held in one of the rooftop gazebos. It was beautiful, the view was incredible and the day was really well organized and run by their on-site wedding planner. They even closed down one of the à la carte restaurants for the dinner and had the discoteca available to us for a private reception. Overall, the good and the bad balanced each other out. I wouldn't choose to go back there, but if I had to, I guess I wouldn't mind.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful Resort

The resort is beautiful and so are all of the staff at this resort. Our room was fabulous as was the service we received. Although Cuban cuisine may not be to everyone's taste, there was plentiful food to choose from. The entertainment team were engaging and fun and the grounds ar kept up well. All 5 pools were open, and you have a nice choice of a quiet pool, the party pool or if course the beautiful beach! The al a carte restaurants were good. We truly enjoyed our holiday.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing and relaxing

Many new updates, food terrific, spa side for adults only is so relaxing. Massages inexpensive and terrific. Staff is amazing and are always there to offer you refreshments. Wifi now available which is a huge improvement. In Cuba I think this is one of the best resorts

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice Place

We really enjoyed the layout to the resort. The food wasn't bad either and the room was really NICE!!! They need to have more variety in Alcohol. We are big Amaretto Drinkers and they would only had a bottle every other day for the 1st 2 days then nothing after that.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fantastic Beach! Amazing Staff!

Resort staff are very friendly, provided excellent service and smile always. Food is OK never left restaurant hungry or not satisfied. If you dont eat fish, you're in trouble. The Italian Restaurant was great. Resort is older but they're in process of renovating rooms. Grounds and common area`s are immaculate. Water pressure could be better and hotter. Management needs to be around to see whats going on. There was a huge towel issue. We didnt get beach towels for 2 days and i believe some people [... read more] didnt get them for 5 days. The Beach was very clean...simply awesome. The Entertainment Team was Brilliant and the Kids Club was just fabulous.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Loved this resort

Resort is the perfect size with everything well laid out and central. Very clean. Room was made up and fridge stocked daily. Food, for Cuba, was very good. Pools and beach area were very clean. Three pools to choose from, the central pool being the party pool and the other two on the outsides quieter. Staff very nice and was very impressed by the quality of the nightly entertainment. Overall though a very pleasant experience and will definately go back.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good for Cuba

This a very beaytiful hotel located in a wonderful place. This said, it need some maintenance to be back to what a call a 5 stars. Service is great. My older daughter is peanuts allergic and servers take it very seriously.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Limited service without notification. Under reno!

Pros: Very nice staff and lovely beach. Cons: With lots of renovations underway, did not have access to buffet restaurant. This was relocated to a very small area near the beach. Really not ideal! They also only had one restaurant for evening dinner. Always the same menus. We got tired quickly of the food. The rooms lacked a lot as these were very dated and smelled badly.

Hotel Mojito: Amazing vacation

My husband and I just returned from the Mojito and had an amazing time. This was our second time at this resort and I can't wait to go back. The staff are awesome and go out of their way to make your vacation great. I could not believe how many people remembered us from our trip in April. The food was great although not as many choices as there was in April but the resort was much quieter in November. The entertainment team did a great job during the day getting people involved in activities and [... read more] put on great shows in the evening. The rooms are dated but they keep them spotless. No issues with water pressure or air conditioning. Overall we had a great time and met a lot of amazing people. The beach and ocean are BEAUTIFUL you can walk for ages. And the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport. We were in the pool within an hour of landing. It doesn't get any better than that.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Great Resort

This is one of the best resorts we have visited. The layout of the hotel is excellent as are the rooms, but what made the difference for us was the service and the food in most of the restaurants. The only somewhat disappointing food was at the Japanese and Jamaican restaurants. The staff has obviously been hand picked, they were attentive, knowledgeable, and had a sense of humour. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Lovely Vacation

If you're looking for a beautiful Cuban beach to spend the days on, this resort is NOT for you. The beach was tiny, and dirty. Did not enjoy the snorkelling there but pilar beach is not far. The staff was amazing, and they made my trip amazing. Night entertainment was awesome! So much dancing and we even got a majic show one night. The hotel is what it is. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A Hotel with a good potential BUT .....

This is actually a Hotel with a good potential BUT poor service & management !!! You will get a mixed feelings about this hotel ! The building and facility is definitely built for a 5 star hotel, specially SPA area which is really unique but poor service and lack of management pushes down this resort dramatically !! Starting with positive points : - Beach and pool areas are great, specially beach. Is typically white sand Cuban beach. Also there are enough sun beds and umbrellas all around the b [... read more]each and pools, so no struggling. - Entertainment team is doing a good job, no complain in this regards. They even had a foam party which was fun. - Japanese a la cart. - Nice people as they are “Cuban” ! Depending on personalities and expectations, the negative points are vary but I think the below deficiencies are very common and visible : - There is a “Towel Tragedy” going on in this resort ! No fresh towel is available during the housekeeping time, so you have to ask for it later but no guarantee to receive any ! Even the ones you receive are not in a good condition and can’t be used ! There are collections of wholes and stains and extremely small for body use ! I am glad we took our own towels, otherwise didn’t know what to do when coming back from beach and really need to take a shower, specially with a little kid !!! Having said that, the fresh beach towels have been always available during our stay … - The washrooms in all over the resort are either broken or out of soap & paper ! Please don’t blame Cuba for all these deficiencies !! Fixing or replacing toilet seats has nothing to do with common deficiencies in Cuba, It is just LACK OF MANAGEMENT !!! - “Maintenance” is another huge issue in this resort ! I am not sure if they have any regular maintenance checks, specially for the rooms but the drawers and closet doors are falling apart, as well as too many other things in the rooms ! The bulbs in the hallways are mostly burnt out and elevators really need some repairs … Beside these major problems, there are some general comments too which may be vary from case to case. For example the food was some days really acceptable with a good variety but some days were really hard to find something to eat, specially in the Grill restaurant by the beach ! Service was generally poor. For example if you wanted fresh towels, you had to call at least 3 times and not even any guarantee to receive one ! When we arrived, there was no welcoming procedure like the other resorts ! We have been waiting in a slow going line up for almost an hour, no one even came to serve a drink ! I asked the front desk to bring people some water at least before passing out !!! I won’t recommend this resort considering its higher price with lower quality ! If you pay less than 1000 $ it “may” worth but definitely not for the price we paid for !!!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great time!

Went for a beach wedding. The beaches were beautiful. Service was great, and the people always seemed to be in great spirits. Our room was fine and we had an amazing maid take care of us. The food was okay, but nothing to brag about. Got to see a lot iguanas which was cool. All in all, it was a pretty awesome time with great people.

overall... a good value for the dollar, the staff was excellent from Roberto meeting you to the check in staff and the maids. And not to mention the General Manager was always engaging. The hotel is getting tired, but still ok for the value. If not sooner than later, this hotel might get to a point where it may be too late to fix up, so please keep up. The beaches are fantastic and beautiful. My wife and I will be back to this hotel soon.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Wonderful trip - BEST staff!

We enjoyed the facility...our room was wonderful!! The meals were good. The staff were EXCELLENT...everyone seemed to enjoy their work and made us feel special! We definitely could do without the " butler " progamme. We had many different butlers during the week - most of whom were unable to help. Overall a wonderful experience!

We had our wedding here and it went very well. Only thing I would say to make it better is if the ceremony was further down the beach away from the bar so its a little more private but all in all great place. Food was good the resort and pools were awesome and the people were very nice and fun. They came out and danced at our reception and made the night even better.
