Riu Negril: Not impressed
The hotel was 90 minutes from the airport, long trip but still had to stop for a beer break (unacceptable). On the way back had to wait at another resort for 20 minutes while the person got to the bus. Out of seven days only had hot water for four and when we did get hot water had to let it run for at least 5 minutes to get it. Sand fleas around pool area and outdoor table areas not good.
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: A bit dissapointed
Rooms were fine , lots of food. The very big disappointment was the beach. The small pebbles long the beach are loose and you sink in when you enter the water. There is also a cross current that you have to watch for. Another area of concern is that the nearby Rio are allowed to use these facilities with the exception of the a la carts this often lead to getting up very early to find a spot at the beach. I have been to Dominican several times over the last few years. I can not see myself returni [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Enjoyed our vacation
We really liked the resort. It was clean, the grounds were very nice and the people who work there are great. There is a lot of variety of food but we were sometimes disappointed with the preparation and the buffet was hectic most of the time. The snack bars were less hectic and good food there. I must say they are creative if they run out of things! The room was also nice and clean. The beach was awesome as always!
Sol Turquesa Beach: Relaxing and very friendly
Perfect place to relax and just chill out. The beach is amazing. There are alot of stairs but you can find paths to make it easier. The staff was very friendly and polite. There was no beach views or pool views but that was ok
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Truly relaxing
The employees make this resort. They are conscientious and happy! We loved the food especially in the buffet. The beach is beautiful but the water can be rough! The rooms were good. Loved the view from the balcony!
Riu Palace Aruba: Great holidays!
We spent a fabulous 7 day vacation at the Riu Palace Aruba and it was great! The beach and the pool were fantastic! We had very nice, hot weather all week. The food was very good, we found the buffet offered nice healthy choices for lunch and dinner! The island itself is very beautiful with super friendly locals...i would return in a heartbeat!
Riu Merengue: Great resort , nice people , excellent food
Booking through through trip central was very easy and CassandrA was very helpful. Our rooms were very good and as requested. The staff was great ! The resort was very clean and food was incredible. The only thing I wasn't impressed with the entertainment. There was no music playing throughout the day or early evening. After dinner was kids show and then the after show was geared only to and older crowd and I'm 48 . I was bored with it and felt sleepy and wanted to go to bed . Other than that we [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Lovely Resort
My best friend and I stayed from April 1-8, 2016. We stayed in building 23 room 203. Room was perfect. No issues at all. Nice washroom, no problem getting clean towels. We left gifts for the maid every day, maybe that helps, who knows. The resort is beautiful and clean. The food is not wonderful, it's Cuba. There is a great variety of food, it just might not be to everyone's taste (pardon the pun). Beaches are second to none. Varadero is gorgeous. I would go back in a heartbeat. :O)
Riu Santa Fe: Great resort. I'd visit again in a second!!
Very nice hotel I'd stay there again no question. Clean. Well maintained. Good food. Pools were great - a good assortment of quiet/family, activity, and or party pool depending on ur mood. Staff was friendly.
Palace St. Martin: RIU Hotels and Resorts
No swim up bar and the entertaining was not that great. Everything else was great! Would recommend this resort but will not return myself as I like to try new resort and travel elsewhere next time!!!!!!
Riu Emerald Bay: Family Friendly
Because I have stayed with RIU before I had very high expectations of the Emerald Bay in Mazatlan, however I wasn't overly impressed when I got there. The rooms were nice and clean, the staff was excellent and I loved that there were multiple pools to chose from. The food was okay, however it was the same thing in both buffet restaurants every single night without fail. Be prepared to wait up to 10 minutes for an elevator, they are impossible to get onto and the construction of the new elevators [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Great resort
This was my second time being there and it was just as great as the last time. The beach is beautiful and and lively. The resort is very nice but a bit out dated. The food was wonderful as usual and drinks were great! Beds were very hard and unpleasant to say.
Riu Emerald Bay: Beautiful Resort
The RIU Emerald Bay is a clean, well groomed resort. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Room was clean and the beverages and water were re-stocked frequently. We had heard complaints about the elevators being slow at times and were pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. I guess if you are in no hurry to get anywhere (and why would you be on vacation) then the elevator issues would not be evident. The food is plentiful though not exciting and the two al a carte restaurants that [... read more]
Riu Tequila: overall exelent value
Even if its an older hotel, it was in excellent shape, very clean, spacious room with a well stock bar. Buffet restaurant was amazing so we did not bother to wait in line to get in at one of the 3 restaurants. Small walk to the beach and if you don't or cant the have a shuttle. once there plenty of chairs, bar. superb pool and restaurant at our disposal. Best feature for us, you can walk 2km either by the beach or street to playa del Carmen.
Riu Playa Blanca: Great vacation
We were there for Easter. Always a place open for snacks which is good when you are travelling with kids. The food is good at the buffet and at the restaurant. Very clean hotel. Alot of chairs around the pools and on the beach. My children had a blast in the kids pool with the slides. If you don't like to party, make sure your room is far from the disco.
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: 5 Star Riu Palace
Beautifully kept hotel. Beautiful scenery/views. Delicious and plentiful food and drink. Lots of stairs on the property. A little too far from town to walk. Ocean/sea is too rough to swim most days. CDTA
Grand Memories Varadero: Very happy
Super,Super nice beach, nice pools too, but not enough chairs so bring more chairs! Food is good (fries are crisp and chicken is succulent). Musicians are often present at dinner. Nights shows are average. Good for families.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Wonderful vacation!!
This resort was beautiful!! Our room was very big and clean, loved the chairs on the balcony! The food was amazing...yes amazing! The fried rice at lunch was my favourite and the pizza was always good. There were always plenty of chairs and lots of shade at the beach and all the pools. The people were so friendly and kind. We really loved our trip!
Riu Negril: Great Resort!
Great food and lots of selection every night at main buffet. Very clean resort both on grounds and rooms. Staff were friendly and welcoming, never felt unsafe on resort, beach or out with the locals. Beach was beautiful and perfect for walking along or tanning, but also enough shady areas for those of us that tend to burn easy. Ocean is shallow and weedy in front of resort so not the best for swimming...but it was perfect and easy to snorkel and see tons of fish and marine life (urchins, starfis [... read more]
Riu Negril: Riu Negril, fun vacation
We stayed at the Riu Negril, March 31 to April 7. When we walked into the lobby we had a beautiful view of the ocean. Check-in went smoothly and we made our way to our room. We were in building two which was the perfect location. It was the only building with a pool in the courtyard. There was also a main pool further down with daily activities. We had an ocean view room that was small, but clean and comfortable, thanks to Paulette our housekeeper. There were cold drinks in the fridge which were [... read more]
