Excellence Punta Cana: Extraordinary Resort

An adult only resort built parallel to the beach. Many lounge chairs at the beach and pool. No need to reserve early in the morning. Food was delicious. Red wine finally served at room temperature! No weeds at the beach!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Pretty Good

Decent Resort with good activities for kids. Bring money for tips otherwise no one is going to pay attention to you. I was getting annoyed near the end having to repeatedly ask for simple things. Get ready for "Dominican time", it's a real thing! Rooms are all connecting and the locks on the doors between rooms are broken. So anyone can walk in from the connecting room at any time. Grand Memories Punta Cana: NOT AS ADVERTISED

This is NOT a short walk to the beach. Coffee maker is only included if you ask for it (over and over again). Mini fridge is not stocked daily. Unable to change or exchange $ at the front desk. Constant harassment by concierge for time share like meeting to sell into the Royalton (which is the resort that is a short walk to the beach). Food, even at a la cartes, was nothing special. This resort is all about segregation. Grand Memories guests are lowest class. Then Diamond Club (pay to upgrade), then Royalton (pay again) then Hideaway (pay again). Pluses: no towel police, pools are nice (at least the ones we were allowed to use), waterpark no line ups, no reservations for a la cartes (that we were allowed to go to), rooms clean.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort!

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic and very good quality. Pool and beach areas were clean and well maintained. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only downfall were the vendors selling their little trinkets and whatnot. Very pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Ocean El Faro: For first time travelers, it was great!

Pros: Just got back from this resort and had a great time! I was traveling with my three children and never were they bored. The lazy river was a hit!! Rooms were very clean and the beds so comfortable. If you enjoy music from Michael Jackson you should hit up the entertainment!! Staff was great, thanks Caesar!! Cons: Their are multiple a la carte restaurants to choose from but always seemed to wait in line to get in. We had difficulty getting change.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Not the greatest

This resort I would consider a 3 star maybe. The buffet food was terrible and the ala cartes were not much better. Rooms were clean but beds were uncomfortable. Maid left our patio door unlocked 3 times. Internet was only available free in one area and you had to rent this modem to carry around with you if you wanted it in your room which you had to put a deposit on and cost $10 a day in American money. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Resort

This was our second time at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort and we intend to return again. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The food is fabulous at all the restaurants especially the specialized ones like the Japanese, Italian, and the Chez. Staff are friendly and very accomadating, especially the "Premier" staff. Excellence El Carmen: Incredible Resort

Excellence El Carmen was an incredible Adult only resort. I was most impressed with the staff at this resort. All of the staff was amazing! We were immediately greeted by the staff and offered champagne. Check in at the front desk was friendly and quick. Jennifer from Tripcentral had sent the request of a building and rooms side by side and the staff had taken care of all of the details. We had a swim up room in building 8, which we loved. We loved the fruit bar that was located across from our swim out with delicious fresh fruit smoothies available. Restaurants were great, had some great steak and seafood. (Chez Isabel, Lobster House, The Grill were a few of our favourites) At times there were wait times to get into restaurant. When we were their the Buffett was not open in the evenings, but had great breakfast and lunch options. Also 24 hour room service with many options as well as a well stocked mini bar daily. This medium sized resort was well laid out and had easy access to the main pool and beautiful sandy beach. The resort and beach was well maintained. Staff and Servers were always available to help in any way possible. There was always entertainment available if you chose to participate. Live instrumental music available each night in the martini bar. Nightly entertainment available every night at the theatre and outdoor plaza. Starting with a band and then a nightly show. Nightly turn down service always included a schedule for the following day called the Excellence Times. I would definitely recommend this resort and am already planning to visit again in the future.

Occidental Punta Cana: Second time!

After loving our stay last year at the Occidental Punta Cana we decided to return again this year. The rooms are large, renovated and clean. Towels and mini fridge are replaced and restocked daily. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We were there Dec. 11- 21 and never had an issue finding chairs on the beach or around the pool. The food was delightful with a great variety. One of the highlights was walking through the grounds at night with the breathtaking Christmas lights w [... read more]rapped around all the trees. The staff was pleasant and took the time to remember us and our drinks preferences. We could walk forever on the beach that was cleared of seaweed every morning. We would be happy to return again next year!

Riu Republica: Amazing Resort

Resort was always clean, only negative would be only 3 of the a la cart resorts were open daily making them extremely busy. Other than that the food was excellent the service was good and the pools, grounds and beach were always clean.

Riu Republica: Phenomenal

Very impressive resort. We stayed for 14 days and the variety of food was never repetitive We found the front desk to be very helpful and understanding to all our needs. They were always there to please. All the employees seemed to truly enjoy their jobs which was nice to see. This resort had it all. Party if you want or relax if you want. Best of both worlds. 5star all the way

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Good vacation over all

The location and the grounds were great. The food was good but not great for a 5 star with the exeption of the hideaway restaurant Dorado. The Diamond club is not worth paying for. The rooms are nice but not luxurious has advertized. We would return if we get a deal because we found it was overpriced for what was offered.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Lovely resort

The resort was well laid out and the grounds were kept clean...you can see the workers tending to the grounds and also washing the walkways. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We bought into the Colonial CLUB and I would recommend this to anyone travelling to this resort as you had a personal butler who you can rely on to make the customer service experience a great one.The rooms had double sinks, hair dryer, ironing board, jacuzzi, separate shower and toilet. During our stay we found th [... read more]e water pressure to be low but workable...the toilet area was a bit small. Mini bar service and night turn down services were provided. Main pool area was great but we had separate adult pool area for Club members...with their own towel service. The beach area for Club members was roped off but you still had to secure a spot early in the morning. The beach itself was great but we had windy weather which accounted for somewhat rougher waters. There were five a la carte; reservation needed for the Japanese and Gourmet only but the butler can make reservations for all five for you. No complaints about the food at the buffet or the a la carte; for me it was very good for Punta Cana standards. There was also a casino and sports bar. What would make this resort even better is if it had a café.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Sirenis Had Everything We Needed!

We recently visited Grand Sirenis in Punta Cana with another family and had a great time. The rooms we stayed in were fantastic and very clean. There were lots of activities to do for the kids and the service was second to none. We were met each morning in the buffet by "our" server Ana who gave out hugs and high fives. Riu Republica: Among the best, value for money

The property is huuuugggge ! Lots of restaurants and pools. Very nicely maintained. The staff is courteous. Food choices are plenty and all of them are good. Access to the beach though it's not the best. But the beach was clean. The highlight was the parties. We loved them all. Awesome music and atmosphere all around. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful hotel

The rooms are new and modern. I found rooms humid. Didnt feel our room had best air conditioning. They also have room fan that is super fast and no way to turn down so would shut off at night. Pillows no very good either. The maids and service are fabulous. Everyone eager to please. Food excellent and drinks. Lot choose from. Beach and pool area beautiful and clean. I will go back for sure

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort

This resort is great. Very quite and relaxing. Food on most part was good. Did not like MEAT a la carte. Transportation to resort was terrible and then when we got there we had to wait again for shuttle from aquamarine to amber. Rooms were excellent. Staff excellent and very friendly.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: TERRIBLE resort

Absolutely terrible resort! Nothing luxury about this resort. Extremely dirty rooms. We had to switch rooms because the first room’s mini fridge had been unplugged for so long, super dirty and smelled so bad! Second room we went to had poop/stool marks inside the toilet bowl! The food was absolutely disgusting! The only good food was at Japanese restaurant which was teppanyaki. And if you dont like Japanese food then there wont be any food in this resort for you so dont go! The resort says it  [... read more]has multiple restaurants and buffets, but thats a lie because more than half are not in this resort they are in the resorts beside them which is at least 20 min walk same with the Splash Pool Water Slides. Service was horrible! Nadia from Building #1 is the concierge and she lied to us about the resort discontinuing dinner reservations for the Japanese restaurant so we lost 1 night of eating actual real food. We asked her multiple times but she said no need for reservation. She was a terrible person and was very pushy into sales. Some little girl got Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and the resort made no reports of it even thought our friends saw her and her family going to the clinic. and she was covered in rashes. The resort didnt let parents know and that disease is contagious through air And saliva. And my 1 year daughter caught it most likely from the pool. So last 1.5 days we were indoors because my daughter had fever and was covered in rashes and we didnt want to make any other kids sick. Overall this resort was absolutely terrible and i would not recommend it at all. Just stay away from this resort dont waste your money!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Definitely 5 star!

This hotel is paradise! The ride from the airport is about 30 minutes. The grounds were immaculate with palm trees and lots of tropical plants, both outside and inside the hotel. Our corner room was clean,large and comfortable. We had an issue with a leaky toilet and maintenance was sent immediately. There is a safe, stocked fridge, some toiletries,slippers and a robe. The pool was spacious and we saw workers cleaning the lawn chairs at night. The beach has soft sand and we swam in the ocea [... read more]n with no seaweed. The beach is great to go for long walks on,if you want. The shuttle service was frequent and the drivers were courteous. We took the shuttle all around just to tour the property. Food was very good and there was a great variety of selection. There was a seafood dinner night at the main buffet which included lobster. We made our reservations on the Bahia app and it worked well. We ate at the M.E.A.T restaurant and we were not disappointed. The ceasar salad, steak,clam chowder soup and double chocolate brownie were our choice! This hotel has given us some wonderful memories and wanting to go back in the future!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Nice resort

Hotel and grounds were very nice, loved the lazy river. Pools are nice and warm with lots of loungers, also never a shortage of loungers at the beach where we spent most of the time. Restaurants are ok, hunters steak restaurant was very good, had a great ribeye done perfect, that was our favourite place to eat.
