Melia Costa Rey: Very modern resort

My family and I stayed here for 6 days and it was very accommodating. The servers at the main buffet are super kind and inviting. Almost all the workers here are extremely kind and charming with their winks. The front desk staff are, while kind, can give off a "hurry up and let's get this over with" vibe. The gardener here was my absolute favorite! He gave my family bracelets!! The food here is alright, not quite my taste, but they do have other restaurants but you're only allowed to eat there  [... read more]for one dinner. I chose the Creole restaurant and was a bit disappointed by the fact that it seemed to be the same food from the buffet but just with fancier plating. The beaches were beautiful. The rooms were very beautiful and clean BUT at the last two days the hot water in my room stopped working which was super unfortunate. But all in all, this resort is a very modern resort while having all the traditional aspects of an all-inclusive resort.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great vacation spot!

We stayed at Melia this past August and it was a great vacation. The resort is currently going through upgrades and they really show! Food was great, room was close to the action and the service was great! The beach was beautiful and you could see the ocean from all points of the resort. Would definitely recommend this resort. Great entertainment, activities and an overall 10/10 experience.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Air conditioning hell

I read numerous reviews before we picked this trip. And the best part is the ocean and the sand. It truly is amazing!! If you go make sure you don't get a room in #9 area. It is too loud with air conditioners. Which I changed rooms 3 times with this one week visit each room air conditioners did not work and they don't change your room right away you have to wait a day. I slept in 28 temp which is almost impossible. Bring your bug spray they do come out at night Nd bite fast. The food is g [... read more]ood. There is no salad or Lactose free foods. But those that say the food is bad is very picky We still made the best of this trip and enjoyed the water as much as possible. Yes. I would go again but I will make sure air conditioners work in the beginning.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely Resort

I had an amazing time. Staff very friendly and helpful The ambience was awesome. DO NOT forget to bring bug spray, I went in August and the mosquitos are very vicious that time of year. Weather was wonderful, the beach was superbe.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach!

The hotel is an older one and it is showing it's age. The beach and staff makes up for the it. This hotel is remote so there isn't a lot of activities close by so be prepared to travel up to 2hrs to get to any activities. And bring strong bug spray or cover up after 6pm.

Hotel Playa Coco: A resort needs to be improved.

Pros: 1. the beach is stunning, crystal clear water, white sand ... 2. Staff were friendly, and helpful. 3. Safe in the resort and the city we visited. Cons: 1. Facility was old. The water sink in bathroom was clogged  in day 1 when we used it,  aircondition was down in day 3 , back door could not be locked.... 2. House keeping was not done properly. In day 1 when we checked in, hairs, stains and particles were observed on the bed sheet, and black stain on towl. Asked house keeper, she  [... read more]changed the bed sheet and towl. 3. The food was not good, especially the food in the Japanese restaurant. 4. Moskitos were everywhere, in door & out door. Maybe this just happened in the summer season. Brought the best brand of moskitos spray, still couldnt protect from moskitos  bite. Conclusion: 1. You can spend your vacation there if you know how to tell if the bedsheet is replaced after the use by the previous guests, and if you don't mind the food that some people even don't want to eat. 2. They have amazing beach & nice staff, but like many of the reviewers, I would say they should change the management to improve the service in this resort.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Best food I've had in Cuba

I went to Pestana with my husband, 1 year old, and my senior parents. Everything is so incredibly conveniently located and no more than a 2 minute walk between our room, the beach, the pool, and any of the other facilities. Although I didn't use it, this resort offers childcare from 0 - 3 yrs, which I haven't seen before. Room: Spacious and cozy enough. I love that we had a crib for baby :) The shower heads sprayed horribly, but I've never had a shower head that was good in Cuba lol. We had  [... read more]a coffee maker but I think it was because we had a baby and needed to heat milk for her. My parents did not have one, so if you want one, be sure to ask. Restaurant: OH MY GOODNESS GREAT! The food was delicious! I've never had Cod fish in Cuba! There was nothing we didn't like it was so great! We tried the Portuguese restaurant - best ever! and the Italian restaurant - the rice was not cooked properly although it was supposed to be risotto, but my husbands pasta was amazing :) Pool and Beach: Beautiful. There isn't a lot of shaded area by the pool, but there's enough to get you by. Everything is very clean despite all the tourists that leave garbage around. There are people cleaning CONSTANTLY! When leaving a tip, don't forget the cleaning staff - they deserve to know their work is appreciated! Bars and Service: I have no complaints. I honestly believe that humans are humans no matter where you're from. If you treat the staff with respect and appreciation then they will go out of their way to make your stay amazing. This is our experience. Everyone was so great :) I definitely recommend this resort. It's smaller and pretty quiet so perfect for young children and those who want to escape.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: 5 stars

The beach was amazing, the resort was awesome, the people/staff there are so warm and welcoming and family oriented and the fact that they speak 3 different languages was very convinent to everyone. The food was ok. The live entertainment at the resort was amazing and fun. Although There should also be more excursions offered, and the mosquitoes were killers at nights, I highly recommend staying at Iberostar daiquiri in Cuba!

Hotel Vigia: Perfect beach!

Beach - Perfect! There was no seaweed, water is clear and you can walk out quite far. For those of you who like to walk, you can go in either direction. Food - We did not try the a la cartes. With four different food preferences, we found the buffet to be easier. We found a good variety of food and lots of fresh fruit. Staff - From the front desk, to the gardeners, the cleaning staff, the servers, everyone was polite and professional. Not one staff member hinted for tips. (We do tip, but at ot [... read more]her resorts we got annoyed when hands were are out all the time) NOTE: The only reason I can't give the staff a five star rating is because one of the male buffet staff crossed the line with our 17 year old when he saw her walking near the pool on her own. His "suggestions" were not appreciated. Rooms - Rooms are spacious with plenty of storage. The safe is 2 pesos a day. It is opened with your room card. Checkout - Check out is 12 pm. Since our pick up was much later (6 pm) we opted to pay the 5 pesos an hour, but this cannot always be accommodated. Our cleaning lady would arrive late in the day around 4 (kind of annoying, its siesta time lol) , so sometimes we would just exchange towels, get water/tp. Water was always delivered to the room. Beach towels - On at least three days, we were told that they were unavailable to exchange - the delivery had not arrived. Pools - Safe for families, they were clean. We travelled with Hola Sun - no issues, the weight allowance with Air Cubana is quite generous Mosquitoes - Bug spray with deet is a must .. the mosquitoes swarm after it rains

The resort is well kept, rooms clean, activities interesting and enjoyable, the beach is above average, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is quite good with a lot of variety. I would recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Disappointed!

I have traveled to Cuba many times and have stayed at various resorts from 3 stars to 5 stars. This review is based on a comparison of my past experiences. Iberostar Daiquiri is listed as a 4 star but should be a 3. The hotel is in need of refreshing and just general maintenance. We experienced rooms that had shower heads shooting water everywhere, drains that didn't drain, rooms with doors, walls etc. black with finger marks from not being cleaned, bedspreads with stains, bath/hand/shower t [... read more]owels that had to be asked for on a daily basis, fridges that were never restocked unless you tracked down the person responsible for restocking them, just mediocre conditions. The grounds were not well kept, the grass hadn't been mowed for weeks, weeds growing everywhere, work being done around the pool, what should be beautiful fountain areas in the lobby and on the premises had stagnant water. You can tell that there is no one that takes any pride in keeping this resort clean and prestine. There were things dropped on the lobby floor and I watched as it stayed there for days. Glasses were dropped in the buffet area and it took 15 mins for someone to show up and clean up the broken glass and juice, as patrons tried to walk around the mess. The breakfast and lunch staff in the buffet restaurant were inattentive and slow, showing no interest in serving and helping the guests. The food, well, you're in Cuba, so you know how that goes. However, on two occasions as I waited for my fish and meat to be prepared, there was a cockroach that scurried across the counter. Most of the time we got our own water and drinks. Things are just not done with any class. The men who worked the dining room at dinner, were excellent, however. They were friendly, prompt, courteous and catered to our needs, bravo to them! Let's talk about the catamaran cartel. Non-motorized sports are supposed to be included in the package. However, the catamaran crew have there own business going and are more interested in charging 20 CUC a person to transport people to a site for snorkling, leaving the beach without any catamarans all day. Considering they finished their shifts at 4 pm daily, I watched, each day as they started to put away the peddal boats, kayaks, catamarans between 2 and 3, so we had nothing to use. Of course, they would then use one boat to take out their family or friends that were waiting on the beach adjacent to the resort. On the weekends, locals come and use the resort beach chairs, the men ogle and disturb the girls lying at the beach and they leave behind all their empty cans, plates etc. All this, never gets picked up by hotel staff. In my opinion, aside from a few excellent staff members like Fidel at the lobby bar, Eddie at entertainment and Paoblo as the doorman, the rest of the staff run the place the way they feel like, there is no sense of the resort being in control by an administrative group, the employees rule the roost. I would give service at this resort a 1/10. If not for the spectacular beach, I would have regretted by choice altogether. If you care more about service and less about the beach, I would recommend Dhawa to you. I was there in March and there service is top notch, but the beach is not that great, too bad!!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort

Overall outside was clean.the cleaning of rooms could be much better compared to other resorts that I visited. Depended on who cleaned your room as there were different attendants. Would expect better for thethe high price range I paid.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Awesome Resort!

This was our fifth time at the Iberostar Daquiri and it never disappoints! Even after 4 years the staff genuinely remembered us and made us feel at home. The resort is laid out beautifully so everything is only steps away without feeling small, the beach is perfect, the food continues to improve with each visit.

The hotel itself is a bit older and not as luxurious as we are used to it is fine. Everything worked fine a/c and toilets were working. And if you needed anything extra the staff was very helpful. The pool and the beach were awesome! The entertainment crew was Great! The food was good and had quite a bit of variety! All in all we were happy with are holiday !

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Aris is the BEST!

The resort was pretty good for a Cuban resort. There was plenty of food at all times. The A La Carte restauranta were all good with the exception being the italian one. I would stay away from the Italian a la carte if you are planning a visit. While we were there we spent time at the swim up bar with our favorite bar tender Aris. He made awesome drinks and was very quick to serve people. HUGE shout out to Aris for the awesome customer service throughout our stay. He is one of the best! Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!!!

I spent a week at Memories Caribe Beach Resort and had a wonderful time. Great beach - water is shallow, clear and warm, good food and great staff- shout out to Jordan- gardener, Eiden Aquatics, Carlos Manager, Leodanys for great Omlettes, Barbara - souvenir shop and Ilen for entertainment and Alex front desk. They provide great service and always smiling.The property is well kept and flowers beautiful. I would definitely recommend the resort! Roberto the flamingo is friendly too. Hotel Mojito: Good Resort

We enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar mojito overall. The rooms we clean and spacious. The buffet was not big and the food a little bit repetitive, however everything was tasty. The beach was a little too far from the resort for my taste. The boardwalk was being repaired and it was a bit of a hike to get there. The entertainment was really good. I enjoyed the performances in the front lobby the most. Intimate and interactive. Mosquitoes were my biggest problem (no fault of the hotel of cours [... read more]e) We normally go to Holguin and never saw one there. Tripcentral will always have my business, they are always patient and helpful. O'Neill is awesome and I recommend booking with him to all my friends, thanks for another awesome holiday, cheers:)

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Wonderful resort!

The size of the resort is on the small side. You do not need to walk for long distance to from beach to your room and to the buffet. It is kids and family friendly. The room size is good. The workers are friendly. The beach was sandy and good for swimming.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Less than 4 Star

The resort was built in 2014 so the rooms were big, fairly clean - no bugs or roaches visible. It had good air conditioning and decent water pressure. The Beach was amazingly beautiful as expected. We had a 14yr, 17 yr and 21 yr old with us and this resort did not come close to any 4 star expectation. The pools were dirty, the bathrooms by the pool were closed for a couple weeks - guess where the urine went? !! My younger son cut his toe on loose, cracked pool tiles. The food was just okay, [... read more] the service was worse. I asked for two extra bottles of water for our rooms and the gentlemen asked for a tip first. There were NO DAILY ACTIVITY schedules that were provided and no visible advertisement, there was this " nightly entertainment" but it was so disappointingly lacking that I would say it was non existent. We were in our rooms by 10:00pm every night watching television. We would NOT go back, and NOT recommended. It's 3 star on a good day.
