Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Friendly, family fun

Unusually good food for the area. Fantastic nightly entertainment. Staff generally are eager to please and very helpful. Great swimming beach with clear water that is safe for a very long stretch. Older rooms are not fancy but comfortable and clean. Very busy, noisy family friendly place. Some recent smoking limitations were greatly appreciated and hopefully there will be even more of this in the future.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Property is Old and below average.

The grounds were very nice, rooms were old, out dated, broken plaster, poor beds. The staff were excellent, very friendly. Location was nice, The villa's were the most modern. The service was excellent, everyone wanted to help out,

Brisas Guardalavaca: Awesome Trip

Hotel staff are amazing as usual. This was our third trip and we were treated l like Royalty. The Villa room was the best , clean, spacious and a great view. We will return. The staff are top notch and the location of this resort makes it a popular destination for many return guests.

Brisas Guardalavaca: FABULOUS RESORT

Love everything about this resort,the staff are super friendly,felt I knew them all personally after our 2 weeks there.(Did have my favorites!!!!) The grounds are beautiful and all the facilities,rooms, dining areas,lobbies,are all clean, bright and organised.Did,nt go in the pools as spent all our time at the beach,white sand and clear blue water. Food in al-a-cartes very good,service excellent,dining rooms,plenty of choice at all meals.Have been to Brisas twice now and will be going back

Playa Costa Verde: Beautiful Beach Great Snorkeling and Diving

I've been to Playa Costa Verde 8 times so that says it all. It's a lovely beach holiday and it's not expensive. They try hard at this resort. It is approximately a one hour bus ride from the airport. The rooms are clean with balconies. The food is good enough at the main restaurant and there are 3 extra restaurants you are entitled to for one dinner each per week with a reservation. I spend most of me time there on the beach or in the ocean with my snorkel gear. Lots of fish to see. If you want  [... read more]to dive, the dive shop is right on the beach. I think it is about $100. for two dives or $60. for one dive.(can't remember exactly but dive costs are very reasonable). The dive equipment is in good shape. This hotel is a very good value and a lovely place for an inexpensive get away.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Perfect Honeymoon!

This place was the perfect place for our honeymoon. Excellent beach, amazing food, and really private and quite resort. I would love to visit again. The customer service met our every need. I can't think of any complaints. It is an excellent value resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very relaxing holiday

The rooms were comfortable, the food was great. We used the spa all day except for lunch it was wonderful. The staff were friendly especially the food and beverage manager Carlos and George with the glasses at the reception. The a la carte meals were excellent. The pool was nice but it needed to be painted. The bus ride to the airport was time consuming having to drop off or pick up at other hotels. Next time I think I would take a taxi to the airport.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Best resort ever.

Love this resort. Have been there 5 times. Planning on going back next year. Can't ask for better staff, always so nice and helpful. Only resort I would recommend to a first timer to Cuba. I have been to a number of other resorts, but always go back to this one,

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort.

Good food, good service, and very nice rooms. Nice grounds and resort is not too large so walking around is easy. Pool area overlooks beach giving great views. Beach is nice with snorkelling right of the beach area on reef.

Playa Pesquero: Beyond my expectations!

We stayed at Playa Pesquero in March. We had the best trip ever! As soon as we arrived we were offered champagne. We were given a superior room that was so perfect for us. Complimentary drinks in fridge, very spacious, wonderful patio. Our maid was a sweetheart and very accommodating. Beautiful beach, large and inviting pool, and great variety of a la cartes and buffets. We really would love to come back!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Only so so

The resort is ok. The pool is nice and the food is pretty good for Cuba. The whole place just seems old, dated and run down including the rooms (especially those on the first floor). The staff are only nice to you if you tip them (my hubby did the tipping and if they didn't see we were together they were rude to me), or are a returning guest. If you are not a returning guest your a second class guest. Resort does have good value if you are looking for a cheap get away

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fair for the price....

I had a good deal...so for me it was o.k.....rooms were old and the pool at the bungalows stayed green ....beach, hotel very nice...food was good...for the price can not complain....The staff very nice...always wanting to help...I saw some of the villas...look nicer on the beach...not a place for people that drink...that was a non stop drunk for the younger generation....

Brisas Covarrubias: Beautiful Resort !!

My sister and I (both seniors) stayed at Club Covarrubias for a week in early February, and had a wonderful time. The beach is absolutely beautiful, one of the nicest I have ever seen, the pool (saltwater) was nice, and our room was spacious and clean, with a view of the ocean. We had requested an upstairs room, but were given one on the ground floor, which was initially disappointing, but it was in such a nice location, close to the beach, pool, and buffet, that we soon ``adjusted``! The staff  [... read more]at this resort are absolutely wonderful, from the maids to the gardeners, who do a great job in keeping the grounds looking clean and attractive. The girl who is in charge of the beach towels is particularly nice and helpful. There is also a library, with books in many different languages, in the same building, a very nice touch !! The two hour ride to and from the airport was very interesting, and the bus was air-conditioned and comfortable. It was a great opportunity to see more of the beautiful Cuban countryside !! The food was really good, both at the buffet, and the beach bar (great fries !!)...we didn`t try the A La Carte, but heard good things from people who did. This is a small, quiet resort, definitely not ``party central``, and in a very isolated location, surrounded by mangrove swamps. There is limited opportunity for going off the resort, but, really why would you want to ?!! If I had any criticism at all it would be that the lighting, at night is rather poor. We noticed that all the return visitors (and there were lots!) had brought flashlights with them, and I would definitely recommend doing so....also bug spray, as there were a lot of very enthusiastic mosquitoes around, especially in the evenings !! We really loved Club Covarrubias, and would love to return !

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: large resort

everything was beautifully kept up . clean and litter free. Lots of walking to the different places .We were in the bungalows and the stage was right beside us and the dining room was only a stone throw away also .

Playa Costa Verde: excellent resort!

The resort was beautiful and well kept with a beautiful beach. The food was pretty good at the buffet and the Japanese restaurant was amazing. There was lots of activities right on the resort and a excellent selection of excursions to pick from.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Do not hesitate to book your vacation here

What can I saw. In summary WOW! This is a well run resort, the facilities are beautiful, grounds well kept and peaceful without loud music blasting at you, the food is superb, and the staff is friendly and truly welcoming. I have stayed 5 times at my favorite resort in Cayo Santa Maria, and although the beach in Cayo Santa Maria is truly spectacular, the Paradisis Rio de Oro Resort is my new go-to destination. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: good resort

truly enjoyed my stay at the resort. Upgraded to unit 27 which was very quiet and worth the money. Upgrade included a private pool which was nice. The only draw back is that the adult section of the pool has more kids than adults. The beach itself was very relaxing and the snorkeling at the beach was remarkable with lots of fish to see. The food was good and salads where excellent.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Wonderful time!

The hotel and the room we stayed in were lovely. I absolutely loved the views from the pools on the upper level - just gorgeous seeing the turquoise blue ocean! We loved swimming at the beach with our masks on. And it was great having all the different pools to choose from. There are lots of stairs at this resort, but we liked the exercise. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Disappointing!

Room not ready on arrival, first room they sent us to had guests staying there already, next 2 were musty smelling- no balcony, rooms not as booked, wanted us to pay extra to upgrade to a villa, ended up in 'barracks' (musty smelling but on main floor so had small patio - couldn't even see ocean from room. Food horrible - all food same temperature -room temperature! Staff pleasant and helpful.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Resort is what you would expect from a 3 star.

We like CA for many reasons. It has an amazing beach right in front of the resort. There are loads of restaurants and bars to choose from. Leaving the resort to travel in the area is totally safe. The market next door is awesome. Those are all great reasons to go. Here are a few things you should know so as not to be disappointed. There are plenty of pools but not all are clean/open all the time. There is a security issue regarding money/belongings theft. We have had a significant amount of mone [... read more]y stolen by maids, with proof the resort would do nothing to help us. We met a couple that had things stolen from their safe in their room too. I say you have to use your own judgement and try to carry all valuables on you at all times. There are many great people that work there but the front of house staff are usually terrible. Customer service is not a strong point.
