Playa Costa Verde: My home away from home

From the first time my husband and I stayed at this resort we said we would like to come back. Relaxing and easygoing, the food was good. The people have such friendly and good dispositions that some have become permanent friends. We did go back again and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. I went again with my son and his wife and am planning to take my brother for his first experience in an all-inclusive.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Absolutely wonderful

Thouroughly enjoyed out stay here - everyone was super nice. Would definitely return here again and have re commended it to a number of people. A lot of things to do and everyone very nice and accommodating.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Pleasantly surprised.

I had stayed at this hotel years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see the upgrades and the excellent choices for restaurants and pools/beaches. This time my friend and I stayed in the Villas--quiet and out of the way and close to the beach and the Villa pool. Well worth the $40 per week extra cost if you want a quieter spot. Bar and restaurant service was excellent and staff was very friendly, with the exception of the front desk blonde lady at the Villa check in counter. Other reviews have commented on her curtness and unhelpful attitude and we found this as well. Our flight left for home late at night, so we had the whole day at the resort. The allocation of one room for all of us to change before we left the resort was terrible! This definitely needs improvement. Other resorts now have a shower and locker room especially for this purpose and this works very well. There were cats on the premises, and since I am allergic to cats and don't want the anywhere near me, this definitely put a damper on my stay there. Guests were feeding them which encouraged them to hang around the dining areas. Most resorts I have visited do not have animals on the premises--not everyone likes them. Otherwise a great and relaxing stay.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: outstanding service with smile always.

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) topnotch for the second time for me .It was 20 years since my first trip and could not wait to get back,trip was just as exciting second time around, Again outstanding.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Riu doing a excellent job!

This was our 6th trip to Holguin, Cuba and to the (Riu) Playa Turquesa Resort. Riu took over the running of the resort 2 yrs ago and we just happened to be there at that time. They are certainly showing their commitment to running the resort with the upgrades that were very noticeably to us. The new head chef has overhauled the menu's and the food was delicious. Plus the daily excursions ($ extra), are worth taking. Cuba is worth seeing. It has amazing culture. And, I personally recommend Riu Playa Turquesa as a wonderful place to stay.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Not recommended

I personally would not recommend this resort unless one doesn't care about anything but to go and drink. Food was quite blend and plates were dirty so it was very difficult to eat it. If you don't eat much bread you will here because that was the only food that seem safe to eat. People were friendly and that was the best part. Spend couple of more $ and go somewhere else.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great location!

The Blau Coste Verde is on a beautiful beach, but the resort is veeeerrrrry tired (at least the old part). Our shower spewed water out in all directions, making it necessary to mop up afterward. Curtains were falling off the rod, etc. That said, we always found something we wanted to eat. The pool was nice and the beach was absolutely beautiful. We were there for sun and sand, so it worked just fine for us.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Deal......and a surprisingly great vacation!

Great resort with a fantastic beach!! The price was exceptional so our expectations were low...but it was really a great vacation. The staff was warm and friendly, and the setting was wonderful! Will be going back for sure!

Playa Pesquero: fablous resort # 1

Everything is beautiful rooms are clean the meals are super and a good variety and the staff is like family. Lot's of chairs at the pool and the beach clean towels at 2 locations and the drinks are super fine.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great Time & Great People

Very clean. The staff were courteous, experienced and very accommodating. We have celebrated my husband's birthday two years in a row, with a birthday cake custom made for him by the resort. The beach area is fabulous.

Playa Pesquero: Our Home Away from Home

We have been to Playa Pesquero 8 times. We have traveled there as a couple, with our children, with an elderly parent and with our friends. Each time we have had a terrific time. We absolutely love the resort. The beach is beautiful, the workers are wonderful and the food is great with many options to choose from. The resort is large with lots of opportunities to fit in a good walk, but shuttles are available as well.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort.

This was our 4th stay at the Paradisus Rio De Oro and we were welcomed with a nice cool towel and cold drink. We stayed at the Royal Service . The food was as always delicious and the employees are all smiles and nothing is too much trouble for them. The Royal Service is very quiet and relaxing, if you like more entertainment then you are better of at the resort itself. We can't wait to go back and enjoy the friendliness of the Cuban people.

Don Lino Hotel: simple resort, great rooms on the beach

This is a nice little resort good for those who aren't looking for luxury but a little authentic Cuba. The food is not great, but edible. The beach is pretty but a little difficult to get in the water for a swim (rocks). The pool is small but clean. Check out Playa Blanca to go for ocean swims. We had an oceanview room and it's location can't be beat.

Playa Costa Verde: great place

I thought the resort was one of the best I have been to. The beaches were clean and the people working there were very helpful. The pool was always clean. The food was just wonderful and our rooms were always well looked after. There was 6 of us there and we are ready to go back again.

Playa Pesquero: Amazing beautiful resort

The food was excellent, as was the service, beautiful grounds & beach, would definitely go back. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and would definitely recommend Playa Pesquero to a friend. Wonderful vacation!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wonderful Experience

Club Amigo Guardalavaca is a beautiful resort! We had a wonderful time - The grounds are being taken care of at all times of the day. The staff was very accommodating making sure we had what we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The entertainment at night was superb!! The food was pretty good. The rooms were very clean and would love to know their secret on how they get the sheets and towels so sparklingly white!! Would we go back - most definitely!! Our flights were very good and the staff on the planes were very efficient And I must add that the girl that we booked our trip through - sure knows her stuff!! Way to go Brie!!! Playa Costa Verde: Feels Like Family

We have returned to this hotel 9 times. We love it because the staff make you feel so welcome. They remember you and treat you so well. The grounds are well taken care of as well as the beach, very clean. There is some coral getting into the ocean which you have to be careful about or can wear water shoes, but once in it is glorious. There are staff to get you a lounge chair and will bring it to wherever you wish on the beach. Plenty of shade areas. You never have to rush down and put your towel [... read more] on a lounge chair at 5 am, they have more than enough loungers. Food is great, lots of selection. You have to remember that you are on an island and you are not in Canada or England. They have a fabulous pasta bar, grills for cooking fish, pork or beef to your liking, and a stir fry section. Wonderful breads and cheeses. Omelets made fresh for you in the morning. If you can't find something to eat, you are really picky! The al la carte restaurants are great. The Japanese is such a fun experience. Rooms are good and comfortable. We prefer the upstairs rooms with the balcony but either way you are not in your room much. You are sitting by the pool, beach or lobby bar. Entertainment is good and the pianists are so talented and such a great idea to sit and listen to before or after dinner. Cuba is very safe and if interested I recommend a stroll away from the resort into the locals area. See how difficult life is for them although they never complain and are so happy to show you their home. Please, please leave them a tip anything extra means so much to them. The bus trip into Guadalavarca market and beach is worthwhile as not only do you see the other resorts, you see the countryside. In all, this resort is one we will continue to visit. The other bonus is after you have been there 5 times, your sixth one is free!

Brisas Guardalavaca: 14 had a great time!

This spread out resort has a ton of ocean frontage. Everything about it was great. We spend most of our time at the hotel pool but we were staying in the villas. The rooms were good sized and it was a short walk to everything. Food was great as was service. This is the best resort of the 3 we've been to in Cuba.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Best Beach and Staff

The resort is 2 hotels both have beautiful grounds. We stayed in the Lunes which is the quieter of the two. Our room was large, beautiful view of ocean, very dated but clean. Luna Pool Bar was quiet and had wonderful, friendly staff and service. We were there during low season so were a bit disappointed in the buffet. Fine white sand and some snorkelling at the far end of the beach.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Resort for the cost!!!

The dining was good with lots of variety and many multi-cultural restaurants to choose from, very nice pool with swim-up bar, nice beach with beautiful sunsets The grounds are well groomed. Our room had a great view of the ocean. All staff were very friendly and all services were excellent. We will go back again!!!
