Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Such a great experience!

The food was fabulous, the service was fabulous, the grounds were expertly maintained. Everything was so clean! The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, the dining was fantastic! Excellent entertainment… A very romantic small resort to get your R&R and enjoy the sun…so great!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful Resort

This was our first time in the Dominican and couldnt have picked a better resort. It was beautiful, amazing staff was always helpful and friendly. Food was actually very good, no complaints about the buffets or a-la-carte restaurants. Beach was very clean and beautiful as well. A lot of stairs to get from our room to the lobby/pools, etc. But the shuttle was very helpful in getting us around too.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Disappointed

The resort in general is quite nice and well kept. The rooms are a bit dated but clean with a comfortable bed. However, the bathroom is sub standard because of the bad lighting and crowded shower space which is a bit scary because of the slippery floor in the tub (a warning sign is posted). The buffet is smaller than most and some of the offerings are questionable because they don't fit the time of day they are being served but you don't have to take them because there are many more choices.  [... read more]This is a family resort and is not geared to meeting other people. For instance, there are no bars with seating which makes it harder to interact with others that you don't know. Make sure you book your ala carte restaurants immediately. We waited until our second day and there was nothing available so we were relegated to seven days of the buffet which gets old really quickly. The biggest disappointment was that the Casino was closed and has been for three months. We chose this resort because it had an on-site casino and quite obviously feel cheated because no web sites or information disclosed this fact. The casino was important to us because Bahia Principe resorts "roll up their sidewalks" at ten pm. unless you are a disco going type. I repeat, it is suited to families.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Great week

We stayed a week at the Elegance Club and thoroughly enjoyed it. This resort is extremely clean and immaculately groomed. All staff were so friendly and always seemed to have a smile. You can eat at most a la cart without a reso without much trouble getting a seat. There are two restaurants that you do need resos for. We ate at the buffet only for breakfast and the food was great. Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana

Resort was very well kept and nice, but very large with the restaurant selection and times and availability a little frustrating, breakfast and lunch options were only available at the beach and the restaurants at the front area were only open for dinner. Pools and beach were nice but you must get a chair early as there are not enough for the main pool and the beach. we enjoyed the golf at the resort and spent a bit of time at the small casino at the Melia Caribe. I have stayed at each of the Melia resorts over the last 10 years and this was my least favorite.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Average resort

The Japanese Restaurant was over priced and the food was not cooked very good , issue with not chairs available at beach because everyone puts their towels there and leaves. The phone did not work to contact front desk. Wifi went in and out. Golf may be free but at 75.00 American to rent a cart that is no bargain. To stay there was over priced

Occidental Caribe: Ok resort

The resort wasn't anything special, the sink was clogged, the toilet only sometime flushed. There definitely were not enough loungers on the beach. The food was ok, nothing special. The staff were friendly. The a la carts booked very fast.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Awesome Time!

Great service, excellent food, and a wonderful place to go with or without the kids! The kids play area had organized activities each day. For example, my son played a 30 minute soccer game with 5 other kids and really enjoyed it! I would definitely come back here and would also recommend it to anyone.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Very disappointing

I have travel to several of their resorts and will not return to this one! The service was minimal and the staff did not seem to know the most basic information about the hotel, such as where certain onsite restaurants where located - even the maps were inaccurate. The Gym was well equipped but half of the equipment was broken! The staff did not seem happy, even when tipped generously. The rooms are outdated and requires important upgrades as the amenities were non functional, including the jacu [... read more]zzi bath, tv. The food was particularly disappointing regardless of which buffet or restaurant we went to or the time - the coffee came from a free vending machine. There were just too many issues overall.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Lovely resort

The Hideaway was a beautiful resort. It is part of a larger family complex , so you will see children. We loved that it was a compact, very walkable resort, no need for golf carts to get anywhere. The beach is gorgeous and the Dorado Restaurant gives an ocean front view, fabulous ambience. We had a swim up room right by the Hideaway pool and enjoyed swimming in our own semi-private area. We were very happy with the service there, from our butler Nelio. He was inobtrusive, but always checking to see if he could help with anything. He booked restaurants and spa visits for us. Not so pleased with Sunwing, but that seems to be a common story these days.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: MAJESTIC MIRAGE RESORT , EXCELLENT RESORT

WHERE EVER YOU WENT THEY WERE THERE TO ASSIST IN ANY CAPACITY, AS TO BOOOKING A RESERVATION FOR DINNER OR EVEN HAVING ADRINKS IN THE LOBBY BAR. VERY SPACIOUS AND BRIGHT. TRS Turquesa: an excellent resort

I was very impressed with the resort, except for two negatives. The facility is spacious, well maintained and clean. As part of the Grand Palladium chain, all facilities in 3 adjacent properties were available for our use with endless choices for meals, a la carte restaurants and buffets. Each building has it own butlers who were most attentive to helping guests. Making reservations for a la carte restaurants was very easy, on line or with the butler. Entertainment in the main theatre was professional with ample other local party type and other activities. There were ample chaises available in busier as well as very in quiet areas. Staffing was abundant and obviously very well trained, polite, and attentive. Shuttle service was excellent. Negatives include lack of vegetarian options in several a la carte restaurants. As a mixed family group, carnivores and vegetarians, this was a problem. Secondly wait staff at Adelitas was horrible. I had to literally stand up and approach wait staff to get service. Because of these two negatives I would rate resort as 3 1/2 stars instead of 5.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Amazing resort

This is the second time we have been here. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was so friendly especially the entertainment staff. We will definately go back. We felt very safe at the resort. The good was very good. They accomadated the area of where I needed my room to be since I dont do elevators. The manager was very helpful and accommodating.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Outstanding Resort

This resort was the best that I have ever been to. The beach was clean, the water clear. The staff was super friendly and offered many entertainment throughout the day. Everything was within short walking distance. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The food was very good and none of us got sick during our stay. The view was magical. Everytime we would enter the dinning room, the ladies would great us with hand sanitizer and a smile.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: CHOOSE SOMETHING BETTER

Summed up , NO If you like snorkeling right off the beach in crystal clear water that is the only thing this resort has going for it. No Pool Bar No Snack Bar No Bacon for breakfast No variety what so ever in the food at the buffet. Every breakfast the same and same things served for both lunch and dinner every day. It was a good thing there was a Canadian Pub just up the street The Jolly Roger even had poutine if you can believe it . Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice vacation but disappointed with beach

Overall the resort was nice. We were disappointed with the beach area. We were told that last fall’s hurricane did quite a bit of damage to it. I had read some reviews online before going - however - I didn’t think it would be as bad as it is! There really is no beach! Since there is no beach - everyone lounges by the pool area - therefore it was very difficult to find a lounger unless we got up very very early to reserve one. My husband was told you had to reserve a chair by 6 am in order to get one. He would go out in the middle of the night ( sometimes 3-4 in the morning) to reserve us chairs! Was ridiculous! Tropical Deluxe Princess: Great resort

The Tropical Princess is a very clean and well maintained resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet was ok after we found what we liked. We ate at 5 of the restaurants and they were excellent. The tropical forest section is cool, there are many birds, ducks, turtles and iguanas to look at when travelling from the pool area to the main lobby. The café, ice cream bar and Sports bar is an added bonus. The sports bar wasn’t able to get any hockey games which was a l [... read more]ittle disappointing but you could get pub food 24/7 there. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: WILL COME AGAIN

This resort was amazing. Service was good, staff was amazing....and a special shout out to Robinson and Elby who worked at the pool bar during the week we were there with a group of 12 adults. Amazing servers!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort overall

The resort is very good in general but some things can be good to know before departure. It's not a 5 star so some shortcomings are to be expected. It's all about perception and enjoying the weather under the warm rays of the sun. Pros Small property easy to walk Maintenance done daily, beautiful well maintained garden. Nice beach to take nice walks and very safe during the day. (A guard and a sign indicate that the place is no longer guarded at a certain point on the beach - Right side).  [... read more] Safe to leave things temporarily on our chairs by the pool and the beach. Not heard any complaints from people who lost their things. Good choice of food in general. (Not 5 stars but you'll find something for everyone.) The chairs at the beach are very comfortable and there are also small beds available for customers. The rooms are still quite comfortable and large and the patios are of good size allowing two people to be seated comfortably. The employees are generally very smiling and friendly. The hotel is close to the airport although we had to take a detour as the main bridge was under repair. The distance by bus is about 20 to 30 minutes in total. The resort is perfect for children. Cons Food is not available at all times, which is a bit of a shame for people who arrive later. It is therefore necessary to know the opening hours. It would be nice to have a place for food at all times outside of certain hours for the buffet or a la carte meals. The beach vendors are very very very present. They are constantly around tourists selling them things. Without being arrogant, they are present. Little tricks, for selling items and souvenirs, the small local shopping center has all the items in large quantities and the prices are better. It is a few steps to the right at the exit of the resort (5 minutes walk). Smoking is allowed at all times, which is VERY unpleasant for anyone who doesn't smoke. No elevator so people with reduced mobility must use the rooms on the first floor. Employees are regularly in the rooms for cleaning, adding products to the fridge, etc. It is good but at the same time it is difficult to rest during the day. Provide a sign (DO NOT DISTURB) on the door. The Internet is actually very weak in rooms and most places. For better service, go to the lobby. Chairs on the beach is a challenge (Royal and Privilege section more) and on the edge of the pool. Be up very early to reserve your spaces. A little unpleasant for everyone... Safe is free for the Royal and Premium but you have to pick up the key at reception. Plan an additional cost for others who do not have a plan. Other interesting and funny facts Our phone in the room hasn't worked all week. They came to try to repair it 3 times without success. So, no room service even though we paid for this surplus. The rooms are ok but some things need some love. Wobbly closet doors, leaky toilet ;), phone not working. Restaurants A la carte - 3 in total Grill (beach): Serve different varieties of meat. Italian (cozy and airy): my favorite;), in the old part of the resort at the entrance Octopus (Seafood): Pumpkin soup, yummm. Premium alcohol are available at extra charge if not part of Royal and Premium package. Lounge for Royal and Premium package is great with great selection of spirits. It is unfortunate that some are not part of the package. They are all ok, not 5 star but still a nice variety. Casual dress is perfect. IMPORTANT: You must book quickly because availability is unfortunately limited. Do this as soon as possible upon arrival. Tips are not compulsory but obviously always appreciated by the workers. I recommend bringing $1 bills from your bank as they are quite rare at times.

This is a fantastic, low-profile gem of a resort. Would definitely consider going back here again because of the value. If you are looking for a relaxing, no-frills place to vacation with great amenities and friendly reliable service. I highly recommend!
