Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Best vacation by far

Wow. To start, there are so many misconceptions regarding Mexico and travelling as a tourist. We stayed at the Iberostar ParaiÅ›o Del Mar in the Riviera Maya for one week October 28th to the 4th 2019 We’ve been travelling to the tropics since the early 2000’s and by far this resort and country have far exceeded our expectations. With its grand size we were thankful for the shuttle service and 24hr service available. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, friendly and genuine. Front desk staff is incredible - Eduardo is a huge asset to their team and has only been with this hotel for a short time. Nurture his growth in this industry. He has a gift. (Shout out to Fatima who has worked at this resort for 18yrs) - the animation team was engaging and inclusive and brought everyone together. There are so many lounge chairs, sun and shade spots, lots of covered beds. The food was the best we’ve ever had, lots of options and quality was great. Grand Sunset Princess: It was okay

The reviews for this hotel were so amazing that we had to check it out ourselves. When we arrived we were a bit disappointed, our room wasn’t ready and we were with our four month old daughter, we were the last to receive our room. As we waited in the lounge passing out. The hotel itself was just okay. Nothing too fancy. The nightly entertainment was awful. Going with a baby meant bedtime for us around 10pm ... nothing started til 9:30pm no shows no live music no entertainment at all. Very di [... read more]sappointing. The theatre had things but it was for toddlers and children. The food was nothing special either, same stuff every day. The restaurants were very cheap and very specific in what you can order. Anything else would cost you money and wasn’t included, wine as well. These may be petty complaints but I just wanted to let people know the truth. I still enjoyed my time with my family and had a great vacation. I don’t care about those things but my husband does and he was disappointed especially after reading all the reviews. Overall not too impressed. I’ve stayed at much better hotels :)

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Wonderful

Great hotel, staff was good. Room was good, food excellent. Well worth the money. It is a very large resort but they have a tram that comes approximately every 10 mins. Shopping center, casino No complaints at all. As a hint use the iberostar app to book al a carts or any communication with the hotel.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Everything you and you family could possibly want or need in a vacation

This place was amazing if you don’t mind the larger resorts. Food was good, entertainment was excellent, grounds were kept very clean. Accommodations were good. The only thing negative that I seen was the hotel REALLY tried hard to promote their services. It becomes a bother at times.

The Sens Riviera: Good hotel with number of the problems

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing Hotel

The food was great, the grounds were kept very clean , staff was very nice and helpful. Always something to do , evening were always in party mood. We had a great experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Paradisus La Perla - Fabulous Resort

The hotel was superb, especially the Royal Service option. Our group of 4 girls were definitely pampered. Hector our Butler was outstanding making all reservations and helping us with our day. Rooms were gorgeous and so were the grounds. Restaurants were all good. Entertainment was low key. We all loved it.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Lovely Grounds... Room For Improvement

On an operational level, there were several bumps during our seven day All Inclusive stay. Honesty and transparency are important... The tone of our hospitality experience started from the start at check-in. Heard similar issues from other visiting guests. Perhaps the property was having a trying week? Sadly, I think Occidental at Xcaret just might be a tired resort with tired staff. Rooms are starting to fail, House-Keeping was spotty, Bartenders were inconsistent. Food is okay. Something for [... read more] everyone really. The lush grounds/animals add charm to this resort. The unique lagoon stands out as well. Having Xcaret Park next door was the highlight of this hotel.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Loved it

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. The property is meticulously kept. Staff are gracious and attentive. The food was fantastic and the beach and pool were both great. Only one sore spot was the noise from the pool area with music which is very loud on the beach and pool area and while some go to the resort for that purpose there were many who did not sign up for it. Extremely talented artist playing everything from Blues to Flamenco. Real gems which should be featured. As well the location was wonderful where you are surrounded by monkeys, Iguanas, turtles ,parrots ,peacocks and the list goes on. This was a great resort. We will return!

Catalonia Yucatan: Pompus and overated

Would not go back as I paid for all inclusive resort and the staff prevented me from many opportunities to enjoy the whole resort as it was off limits. Staff pretended to have my best interests however they took my money when they could, but if it was not in their best interest they refused me service.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing Resort

This was our second year at this resort. We came back because of the service. The wait staff are efficient and friendly. Our favorite waiter for breakfast and lunch was Ishmel. He went out of his way to please us. The day time activities are good. Water exercise and the dance lessons were two of my favorites. I missed the cookies and cheesecake that were available in the lobby bar last year. The coffee house dose not have as nice pastries. Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great Resort

We really enjoyed our time here. Our room was beautiful, clean, spacious The Bella restaurant was EXCELLENT. coffee bar & 24 snack spot was a nice addition to food choices. Service by all resort employees was the BEST. so friendly, polite Pool area great too!! We would definately return for another vacation here

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Good resort, disappointing restaurants

Having previously enjoyed a vacation at this hotel, after coming out of an extensive surgery 7 months ago we chose to meet some good friends here. The hotel is super clean, the grounds are immaculate, the four pools cater for everyone, or so I thought until one afternoon they decided to bring the party pool to the adults only "quiet" pool, this was not well recieved by the adult pool regular visitors. The buffet restaurant is quite good, the selection is extensive and in the main the service i [... read more]s fine save for a few offhand attitudes. Of the five restaurants we tried two were excellent, Sensei, the teppanyaki experience is well worth a visit, excellent service. Villa Marina, the steak house is also very good both for food and service. The crepery by the adult pool aspires to be something special, it is not although the bar service to those by the pool is very good. The Blue Moon "romantic dining" is anything but. Large loud tables and offhand service spoiled the experience, food was mediocre at best. The terrace Italian is a complete disaster, cooking at the table appeals to vacationers and it was mostly full but the food was terrible, as was the service, they served a 'dead' clam, the tortellini was hard rolls of 95% pasta, the spin inch and feta was really hard to find and harder to taste, two of us had carbonara so naturally it was cooked together however when it came to the plating 80% of the bacon was on one plate. The service provided by the lobby bar staff is second to non, Angelise and Manuela are exceptional waitresses, the bar men, sorry I don't remember their names were also very good. Carlos made our coffee at the bar each morning and he is exceptional also, a very pleasant young man always eager to please. Ou vacation was a success because of the company of our great friends and our reluctance to let the disappointments spoil it.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Week at Caracol

We recently spent a week at this great resort. Loved the jungle atmosphere and the many places to explore on the property. The entertainment quality was quite good for resort fare and there were enough included activities on the resort that we didn’t feel the need for any off resort excursions. Our goal was to relax and this was amply accomplished. Great service poolside and beachside (Select Club) with well poured drinks and a great variety of places to eat everyday. Our room was large and well appointed but a bit bland in decor- not a big deal since we didn’t spend much time in there except to sleep! We absolutely loved the many animal encounters we were able to have at the resort- they definitely made our week!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort. Great service, food and rooms. We were placed by the beach which was great. Our room was nice, clean. The staff was polite and friendly everywhere we went. Loved that you could take a shuttle between resorts. Only thing we had an issue with was that the buffet food was cold alot. So food that should be hot was usually cold and a bit tough but still tasted good. However we did 3 a la'carte restaurants (Italian, Brazilian and Japanese). The food was absolutely to die for. JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Amazing resort and even better staff and service!

We had a great stay at the Iberostar Grand in Quintana Roo. The food was excellent, beach was right there! And the entire place was clean and beautiful. It would have been a perfect vacation if we weren’t robbed...by the police! Stay away from rental cars and driving on your own. We rented a Jeep and one night we were stopped for a supposed road violation, even though I was just following traffic. I was stopped and no ticket was given. Instead the local police decided to try and extort $250 US [... read more]D from me. I was held in a police cruiser for 30 mins at the side of the highway at midnight with my wife panicking in our pulled over rental car as they tried to convince me to pay them the $250 right then and there in cash. We had just over $100 on us and they were then trying to get us to an ATM. They finally took what we had and then let us go. Yes. The police. The police in Quintana Roo México. Never ever going back to that country ever again. If you can’t trust the police who can you trust? They are criminals. Stay away. Too bad. The hotels need to get together and fix this problem. The police will drive them to bankruptcy eventually. Small mindedness is killing Mexico. Awful.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

The hotel architecture was stunning. The cleanliness of the hotel was always on point. The staff was always professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely kid friendly which we loved because we travelled with our little one. They had a separate pool just for kids, a kids club where they offered tons of activities and kept the children engaged. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Wonderful Holiday!

One of the most beautiful resorts and wonderful staff at this resort! We will definitely return to this resort ❤️ We loved our room and the swim up pool, such a great option, we felt very spoiled! The staff made us very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us, we now love Mexico 🇲🇽

This resort is a great resort for single or family. The recreation staff get everybody involved if you have a question you can go see Alexander an he will help with any needs you have.The bar staff is great an David from guest services can sort out anything even found my shoes 3 days later lol I highly recomand this resort

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Okay resort

The resort was okay. People working there were friendly and the rooms were clean. It is kind of run down for only being 2 1/2 years old. Food was okay. I expected better from past experiences in Mexico but it was okay. Beach was terrible. Really rocky all the way out.
