Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful week away!

Excellent resort. Staff are beyond fabulous. Our room was immaculately clean everyday, lots of activities, the beach is great, buffet and specialty restaurant food was great. I recommend the reef for snorkelling. Lots of fish. We had some poor weather so on my next trip I will take some travel games.

Melia Las Antillas: nice resort

I really liked this resort. I loved the beach,the pool, the people and the weather. I am hoping to return to this resort someday. I only have one complaint and that is the beds were a bit hard a nice pillowtop mattress would have been nice. But I slept well regardless. Thanks for the great stay.....

Melia Las Antillas: Super Resort

This resort is beautiful I really enjoyed my stay there very relaxing and quiet. The beach was beautiful and the people so helpful and nice. The food was good as well. I am hoping to return to this resort someday. The beds could be updated a bit they are a bit hard. Other wise it was great.

Melia Las Antillas: Wonderful Resort..

This hotel was lovely. Very easy to get around. The people were very nice and wanted to help you in any way they could. The beds were a bit hard but ok. The food was good we always found something to eat. I would recommend this resort to my friends and family. The beach area was beautiful.

Sol Cayo Coco: nice resort

hotel was ok needs more entertainment for evenings food was good but could have more variety (everyday was same thing) lobby personel need to be more knowledgeable about emergencies. air canada rep needs to be more easily available (stay at hotel longer than 45min per day)

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. There is no water pressure in the rooms and there is a problem with no water at times. The rooms are also very big and decorated very nice. They are dated but very nice. The pool was very clean and maintained well. The pool bar had the best bartender!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: very nice relaxing resort

This hotel provided everything we were expecting and hoping for. The rooms were pleasantly clean with up to date furnishings - the pool water was crystal clear - the staff were extremely polite - helpful and accommodating. The food selection was plentiful and although some people say the food is blah in Cuba we had no issues. We really utilized the cooks grilling the food in front of us which allowed us to add whatever we wanted to - to enhance the flavour of our food. That is something I learne [... read more]d during my first visit to Cuba. I enjoyed the different selection of restaurants which provided various choices of where you want to eat. The hotel is in close proximity to various off site ventures. The only disappointment we experienced was the weather near the end of the week which unfortunately was out of the control of the hotel. I definitely would recommend this hotel and will return.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Good value

Very clean environment which includes all public areas. The daily buffet food selection was quite good in terms of variety and quality. The hotel service staff were very helpful, friendly, and attentive to our needs. One suggestion however would be to add additional lighting on public pathways as they are quite dark after the sun sets.

Melia Marina Varadero: Highly Recommend!

This resort was above expectation. Our room had an amazing Marina view. We stayed in the (1) bedroom apartment. The room was extremely spacious and very clean and well kept. (2) huge bathrooms with showers! I was extremely surprised by the care to detail in customer service. Any request that was made was followed up shortly with a phone call to make sure that we were satisfied. The food was the best we have had in Cuba so far! They even had "heinz" ketchup!! Melia Marina Varadero: Good not great

I just got home from the Meliá marina resort in varadero. I would first like to say that I was pleased with the hotel and felt that it was well worth the price. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The buffet was good but could have definetly had more theme nights for sure. The staff took time on many occasions to chat with myself and my daughter. I was impressed by their language skills to say the least. My room was always impeccably clean as well The negative things abou [... read more]t this resort were few and easy to fix if they see a need. The hot tub was never even warm. Everyday in paradise isn't sunshine and they should turn that up. There is also next to no shade by the pool. Coming from Canada I'm not ready to be in the steady sunshine. The lines in the lounge at the bar were often 10-15 mins. It adds up. They could easily have 2 more servers working there to at least bring you a drink. Especially when a weeks tips surely add up to more than a months wage. Lastly the internet. It was impossible for me to connect but I will chalk that up to being in cuba.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Don't do it!!

This is not a resort one should consider. We were told when we booked it was the best there is. The resort is unkept. The rooms and beds are awful. Management doesn't care. The common areas are falling apart. The food is should not be eaten. Meat sits out all day, not chilled, and most of the other stuff shouldn't be touched. Staff was less than helpful. Pretty much have to get your own coffee and drinks. I was careful what I ate, mainly toast and have been home for two days and rarely [... read more] can leave the bathroom. Absolute waste of vacation time and money. Complained to tripcentral, didn't seem to matter. Complained to reps at hotel who would move us to a lateral hotel for $1000. Have registered a complaint with air transat. Just don't do it.

Melia Varadero: Amazing Resort

The whole experience was breathtaking, the only complaint that I have is that our bed was very uncomfortable. They could offer more entertainment especially during the day. It would be nice to have music playing around the poor area throughout the entire day. Not much going on in the evening, they had a couple of shows in the Santiago room. If they did have more going on, not much advertising about it.

Sol Cayo Coco: very friendly !! overall good experience

The hotel was nice , bathroom door was broken, found crabs and lizards in the toilet , food wasn't amazing but the staff were so friendly it was a really good time. Beach was absolutely beautiful!! Lots of events and we loved the nightly entertainment! ! Rooms were always so clean

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Royal Service is the way to go!

Our vacation at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar was absolutely our favorite vacation by far! We selected to upgrade to the Royal Service and were not disappointed. Infact, we are now spoiled to the greater things in life! Having our own "butler" to manage all of our bookings from dinner (Hill Top, Miamar and French restaurant were 5 Stars!) to excursions made our trip hassle free and more time to enjoy the beach, pool and resort. The only hiccup we experienced was not knowing the full feature [... read more]s of the Royal Service (i.e. Having your own personal butler) as we arrived at 4:00am and obviously would not have been giving a full tour as staff was limited and we were just pretty much given our room key. But we could have been told to come back in the morning for an orientation. With that said, it did not hinder our trip. In fact we are already looking to book again for next year!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Ok Resort

The good points: 1) Maria in the Italia restaurant for breakfast & lunch was absolutely wonderful. Can't say enough great things about her. 2) A-la-cart restaurants were very good. 3) Customer service was considerate, prompt, and courteous. 4) Room size was bigger than expected The "needs improvement" points: 1) main resort areas & bedrooms need updating. Lots of cracks in walls or doors, chips in floors, and peeling paint. 2) swim up pool & bar needs more attention. There was on [... read more]e day when the swim up bar was closed due flooding in the bar area. No signs were posted to tell people not to try and order from pool. And the whole pool stunk because of backed-up sewage. 3) bed-bugs were a problem. Came back with lots of bites 4) alcohol was terrible. We were expecting some name brands to be available but only one was. That was Kaluha which they kept running out of. Tripcentral has this resort rated a 5 star and states its a top seller. Because of these 2 factors, we thought we had made a good pick for our "very valuable" winter get-away vacation. We were disappointed and felt we over paid for it. This resort is a 4 star - max. In addition: Varedero airport was absolutely terrible on arrival and departure. Both experiences were horrible. We've see the last of Cuba. Will not go back.

Melia Cayo Coco: Everything We Wanted

Our trip to Melia Cayo Coco was amazing. It was everything we could have asked for. We were prepared by our trip advisor that it was a top rated hotel but a little antiquated. She was right on the money. The size of the resort was perfect. We could get to any spot on the resort within 5 minutes. The beach was amazing and very clean. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was a little antiquated. It definitely could use some updating in color and fixtures but it was overall [... read more] clean. The dining experience was fantastic. We really liked 2 out of our 3 a la cartes. The Italian restaurant by far had the best food. Service was superb. The International restaurant looking over the lagoon was excellent. The food and presentation was very good. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The Cuban restaurant was overall very good. Didn't enjoy the birds around my food. They did have great desserts. The buffet never disappointed us. The variety of food choices was excellent and the waiting staff were very attentive and the room was quite clean. Entertainment in the evening was wonderful. My favorite night was "Chillin Out". Wild costumes and interpretive dance. The dancing was very professionally choreographed and contained a lot of energy. The pool looked very inviting and there were plenty of activities. The grounds were kept very clean but it could use some newer plants and a little more color and variety in the flowers. Overall our experience was fantastic. I would definitely go back again and would recommend this to my family and friends.

Hotel Camino del Mar: great place to relax

this resort has a great selection of food at the buffet,changed everyday . the al acartes are fine but nothing special .the pool is fantastic and cleaned every other day . animation staff work very hard and get you involved. bars are good some nice top shelf booze included. beach is white and soft sand and the sea is awesome to swim in . don't be afraid to try this place out at least once.

Tryp Cayo Coco: great resort

Tryp hotel was amazing , beach was great, dining was good, room was great ,the whole resort was very clean and well maintained. The staff were a little slow getting your drinks but all in all we would totally recommend this resort

Memories Cayo Largo: Had a lovely time

This resort has beautiful grounds, a great pool, nice bars, the staff are wonderful. Best beach ever: wonderful turquoise water and white sand! Nearby Sirena and Paraiso beaches are fantastic "virgin" beaches to visit. The suites are not luxury, but everything is clean and there is hot water and good water pressure. The food is plentiful and varied - though not gourmet, but one doesn't go to Cuba for gourmet food! Would highly recommend lunches at the beach restaurant, overlooking the ocean.  [... read more] There was lively entertainment nightly provided by an enthusiastic troupe of talented dancers - plus one gets serenaded by a wonderful Cuban band of equally talented young musicians playing a variety of Cuban standards, both new and old. Great time all around!

Melia Jardines del Rey: A vacation is what you makeit!

Well the resort is very large lots of options for food and entertainment fun evening life. The beach was amazing could walk forever white sand lots of fish and shells a beachcombers delight. Service was a little lacking big resort seemed like they were to busy to get friendly. Had a hard time getting beach towels bring your own. It is remote so if you like exploring its not the place. There is no shopping on the resort to speak of didn't spend any coin really. Here is my biggest complaint the pools were gross green algae all along the sides of all the pools YUCK! Thank God the beach was wonderful!
