Brisas Guardalavaca: Our home away from home

we are so comfortable when we stay at Brisas, it's a very safe place for the kids to be out and about independently. The staff there show pride in their work and they treat you like family. As soon as we board the plane to come home, we look forward to the next vacation at Brisas

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: best bang for the buck

the whole resort is a little outdated. the room we stayed at was called "THE RUSSIAN BARRACKS" and it wasnt the nicest room. the food at times, wasn't bad but could have been better. i would stay there again if i could get a price of around $500 to $600, but not pay a penny more.....

Playa Costa Verde: Wonderful stay

We had our Honeymoon ay Playa Costa Verde and it was beautiful. The hotel staff made us feel so special. We where invited to a special Lobster dinner which was beautifully done and delicious! The rooms where clean ands the food was the best I've ever had in Cuba and this was my 5 th trip . We are already planning our return hopefully in February 2015. Thankyou also to the outstanding staff for a wonderful time all together.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Resort for a great price!

The grounds were well kept, rooms were clean, the food was good by Cuban resort standards (I've been to a few other places and as anyone who's been to Cuba knows, you're not going there for the food). Above all that, the staff was phenomenal, most credit goes to the Entertainment staff!! Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort!!!!!

We loved this place..the grounds were so beautiful,the rooms were big and clean(we chose the Royal Service which you pay extra but well worth it)...the outdoor shower is amazing,the staff is courteous and accommodating and the food is good.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great staff, great rooms!

We initially stayed in the older section of the hotel (Block 1), however, our room was quite dark, the air conditioning was broken (perpetually freezing in the room) and the bathtub (no shower) wouldn't drain. The older part of the hotel showed signs of being old; there was rust everywhere and the door had problems locking (key card didn't always want to work). We upgraded to the PLUS section on the 2nd day, which costed us 10 pesos per person per night. This was 100% worth it. The plus section  [... read more]has new rooms, which were brightly lit. The A/C can be controlled via a digital box, which made it accurate, and the washroom had a shower. We also very much enjoyed having an exclusive pool to ourselves, since it meant we didn't have to rush first thing in the morning and try to reserve chairs. There were always chairs available, even at 2 in the afternoon! The exclusive pool was definitely a highlight; it has a swim-up bar, and a deep section as well as a shallower section. The majority of people that used the pool were adults; however, there were quite a few kids in the shallower section. The beach isn't the best that I've seen -- there is quite a few rocks along the edge, which can make it more difficult to enjoy a walk, and the beach isn't that long either. The water sports are quite good though; we very much enjoyed going pedal-boating. The sports offered are also very good. The activity staff are very welcoming, kind and enthusiastic about their jobs. There are also evening programs, which we went to almost every night -- it always started with the kids program (even though we don't have kids, we enjoyed it a lot!) and then went into a show. There were some shows that contained quite a lot of "adult" content -- so perhaps not the greatest for families to be attending. The shows ranged from dance to plays to water ballet to music. There was a wide variety. One of the great benefits to upgrading to PLUS was that we got access to the better a la carte restaurants. Out of the restaurants that were there, we tried the Cuban restaurant, (open to all guests) which had amazing food. Probably some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. We also went to the Italian restaurant (again, open to all guests) which was okay, quality wise. The PLUS restaurant that we went to was the Spanish restaurant, and the food there was fantastic, as was the service. We unfortunately didn't try the PLUS gourmet restaurant, although I heard from a lot of people that it was the best restaurant at the hotel. Finally, we got a lobster dinner (as part of the PLUS package), which was again, just okay. It wasn't anything outstanding. The regular buffet restaurants are decent. Each morning, we had an omelet, which we could add a bunch of ingredients to, so that was a great option for us. Lunch consisted of usually burgers, pasta, some veggies...it wasn't that memorable. The dinners were okay, there was usually a variety of things to pick from, but again, it wasn't anything memorable. Overall, the service we received was great. The employees seem to enjoy their jobs, and we were able to resolve any issues we had fairly quickly. The only problem I encountered was as we were leaving, I requested for a bellhop to come by our room and pick us up to drive us to the front entrance, since our suitcases were quite heavy. I waited for 45 minutes (the front desk said 15 minutes and he'd be there) and then gave up and just lugged everything to the front desk. But that wasn't such a huge issue. The weather left something to be desired (4 days of rain out of our 7 day vacation) but that's beyond the control of the hotel, and they did their best for us to enjoy our vacation anyway. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I will probably be returning (although I will be immediately purchasing an PLUS package, rather than a regular package).

Sol Turquesa Beach: Disappointing

We went to Playa Turquesa three years ago and absolutely loved it. This time was a huge disappointment. Almost everything about the resort had gone downhill. The food was really terrible (to the point of half frozen french fries). The grounds are no longer gardened, and no upkeep to any painting. The staff was still very friendly and helpful, but there are significantly fewer staff so the their were long wait times for everything.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Loved it!

Snorkeling is great right off the beach. Loved this resort. It is a 4 star by Cuba standards. Food is great, beach is great, people are great. What else could one ask for? Would go back and would recommend.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fantastic resort!!!

This is our second time at this resort and we would go back again!! The people were as usual wonderful, the food was very good with out choice of three buffets and a snack bar to satisfy everyone. The coffee and piano bar also offerered a chocolate fountain that was a treat to everyone of all ages! The beach was breathtaking and the entertainment amazing. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Can't wait to go back

Our only regret was not staying longer! The next trip to this resort will be 9 days so we will have 7 days without any travelling! The room was great with plenty of space, well laid out and clean the service was second to none! The beach and snorkelling opportunities where great.

Playa Pesquero: Awesome resort!

Friendly and attentive staff. Rooms were comfortable and well maintained. Good food with a lot of variety. We had nine in our party and all enjoyed their experience. Would definitely return to this destination.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Greatest stay ever!!!!

Friendly, clean, safe, delicious, THE BEST!!!!! The staff were all so helpful and the grounds were well manicured. We are world class travelers and this was one of our most enjoyable stays. Second time for us in 10 years.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Nice Getaway

The dining room was clean and the food was good. The beach was a little rocky, suggest bringing watershoes. The service was good and the entertainment above average, something different every night. There are activities everyday for those who wish to participate and if you need to get out of the sun there are plenty of shaded areas.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful Guardalavaca

We've been to this area and this complex many times. It fairly large in that it's comprises three sections, thus; plenty of restaurants, pools, and entertainment. We love Cuba for the people and being able to meet/visit in their homes is all part of traveling to this hotel. The staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating in all aspects in order to have you enjoy your vacation there. Don Lino Hotel: Now a 3 star

This was our third time at Don Lino and it wont be our last. We are a senior couple and we love the relaxing atmosphere of this resort. If you are looking for night life then this is not the resort for you. There is no bank so you have to change your money at the airport or take a buggy ride to a bank in the village. Then the last two times we stayed in the older rooms and like them the best. The food is average but lots of it and you can always find something to eat. There is a snack bar where you can get fries, hotdogs, hamburgers and grilled cheese. We will be going back in Dec for a couple of weeks and wish it could be longer.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Good resort

Everything is good -food,rooms,entertainment except the locals ppl.The beach is overcrowded with locals. The restaurants are very good ,the bars ,the rom-bar .Only the location is minus and the locals ,

Playa Pesquero: My husband and I love the Pesquero

This winter we went for 10days with friends, then returned in February for a week, our 5th stay at the Playa Pesquero, it is a beautiful resort with amazing staff that make returning to the Pesquero so enjoyable. The nightly shows are fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious, a great selection of good food. We will return to the Playa Pesquero again at the beginning of 2015!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful

Grounds were beautiful, food was delicious, staff amazing, wonderful artisans selling their wares. Great trip had by all! Group of ten and all accommodation's were satisfactory and close as requested. Wonderful lobster dinner and aquatic show by the infinity pool.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Amazing resort..

This resort is amazing. From grounds to staff to food, definetely would recommend it. We have stayed here 4 times and are looking forward to our fifth.. Our kids 7,5 always look forward to Blau Costa.

Brisas Covarrubias: lack of some necessities

The staff were welcoming. There is often no running water at the resort which causes toilets to back up and overflow and no drinking water. I would not bring small children as a result. Beach is absolutely the best though.
