Sol Palmeras: Very busy resort.

This is a very busy resort in the month of March. We thought it might be quiet booking after the March break but that was not the case. Staff handled it very professionaly and did a great job. The food was excellent and never too little. The a la carte restaurants are very good as well. If you get the opportunity to take in the water show at the pool do so, it was very well done. The only downfall is there are no restrictions on reserving chairs by the pool or beach. I believe that every resort  [... read more]should have a 15 minute restriction that states if a towel is left on a chair and no one sits there in 15 minutes the staff can take it and give the chair to someone else.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very Disappointed

Our latest stay at Ocean El Patriarca resort was very disappointing. My wife and I had been there five years ago and loved it. It was still fairly new and, more importantly, the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. So, we decided to stay there again, this time taking our son, two daughters, son-in-law and two grandchildren in three rooms. Our first bad experience was upon arrival at 12:00 pm. We were greeted at the front desk by a very sour employee. She told our married daughter [... read more] that her room was ready; however, our room and our other daughter’s room were not...and wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. That would have been fine; however, when we got to our building, the maid told us our room would be ready in 10 minutes. We went back to the front desk where the same sour clerk re-iterated that the rooms would not be ready until 4. Back to our room where the maid told us our room was now ready. Back to front desk. Again not until 4 pm. This went on until, finally, our maid called someone and we were given our keys. Terrible initial impression. It gets worse. We found the hot food in the buffet dining room just warm at best and, even cold at times. I opted to eat at the omelet station most mornings just to be assured of a hot breakfast. I was quite worried about the chance of food poisoning had I eaten anything from the buffet selection. In the evening, we ate at the three a-la-carte restaurants for the same reason. However, the worst experience was with the a/c in our room. After about two days stay, we started noticing a sewer smell in our room and seemed to be coming from our a/c. At first it was only upon entering the room; but soon it was all the time to an extent we had to shut off the a/c and open the patio door. Even with the screen, we had a mosquito or two buzzing around our heads at night and waking to bites in the morning. We did notify customer service who dispatched a technician to fix the problem. It was not fixed. We reported it again. This time the technician installed moth balls in the a/c to mask the smell! It was so chokingly bad I had to remove the mothballs from the a/c vent myself. In fairlness, Customer Service DID offer to change our rooms , however, my wife and I wanted to stay in the same building close to our children and grand-children. We suffered through it. Thankfully, it wasn’t too hot at night and we could sleep fairly well without the a/c and with the patio door open. (even with the mosquitoes) Service overall from all departments was mediocre at best. Very few staff smiled or greeted us pleasantly. Strangely enough, the friendliest people at the resort were…..the groundskeepers! Without fail, they greeted us with smiles and a friendly hello every morning. We will not be returning to El Patriarca resort.

Melia Las Antillas: Ok vacation.

Hotel was just OK. Food was always cold at the buffet. Service wasn’t very good. Very clean hotel. Grounds were well kept. Concierge service was good. Always entertainment at night in several areas .

Roc Barlovento: Excellent location!

This is our 2nd stay at Roc Barlavento and already planning to go back next year. This resort is the first one as you come onto the peninsula and is great for walking down town and to the markets. It is a small resort but has 3 pools, main dining area, lunch area with outdoor BBQ everyday and 2 a la carte restaurants. Food was great, service was excellent, our room was on the 3rd floor (top) and was clean and comfy. There is a beach bar and the resort is very close to the beach.

Starfish Jibacoa: Ok resort

Very nice layout of resort, rooms kept nice and clean, service is great in most areas staff very friendly, however food is very basic never hot always cool very poor selection of fruits and never heard of Bacon they can definitely improve on proper service in the buffet area.

Roc Barlovento: Overpriced 3.5 Star

The grounds look good and were well organized. The staff were alright. The rooms and decks were disappointing, small. No hot water or even no water at peek showering times. First rooms they set us up with were disgusting and we had to fight to change it. We paid for Roc Plus and really got nothing for it except a water bottle in room every day. Room save was an extra charge. Nothing supplied in room fridge. 3.5 star with a 5 star price

Playa Caleta: 2 star

Had a terrible time. The resort is out dated and needs some work. Had to switch rooms three times before I had a room with hot water. Wouldn’t recommend. I would try a different hotel and see how that works out. Also don’t fly with sun wing, they always have terrible service and staff are annoying.

Melia Varadero: Fantastic Stay once again!

5th visit and the hotel keeps amazing me! The grounds are amazingly beautiful, the beach is fantastic, with one side having entertainment and one side being more quiet, the food was even better this time and it's always been good! The staff...what can I say...you will never find a more helpful, friendly, efficient staff. Will be going yet again!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Satisfactory

not in a rush to return i do not have enough nice things to say to write 200 words it was a very slow time, not many people, 10 restaurants not open, the majority of the hotel closed. definately not what i expected.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: One of my Favorite

This is my third year to Cuba and The Sanctuary at Grand Memories is definitely a "visit again" resort. Resort was well maintained. Rooms were excellent and staff was friendly and courteous. You will not regret your stay here!

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Awesomeness!!!

I recently stayed at your Hotel (10-20 March). Firstly, Thank You so very Much to Osmary my Maid during that time. I just can’t say enough about her. She is Beautiful …she is Beautiful as a Human ..and has a Beautiful Heart. Walking into my Room and seeing her Special touches made me Smile. She kept my room spotless and I was never in need of anything. Every day she gave me a Warm Greeting and asked if there was anything I needed or if I was having a Good day. I Hope Many more Visitors ar [... read more]e able to Experience the Loveliness that is Osmary. Anyone reading this should ask for Her Specifically…I know I will when I book again ! I was also very Impressed with the Lounge Bar Staff (Check in area) …they always had smiles on their faces and remembered what I ordered. The same goes for the Staff at the 24 Hour Restaurant …I apologize if I get this wrong but I especially want to thank (I’m thinking Blanco ..and his Son) they seemed to always be there and were Awesome! It is obvious that all of these wonderful People have a Genuine Like for one another ! The way they Greeted each other coming and going always warmed my Heart. Special shout out to Whitney (Poolside) who was so Lovely. Friendly and Helpful and also the Young men who set up the Umbrellas. When I went to the Buffet I always sat in the section Closest to the Doors ..the Young Man who Served me was always so Awesome and also always Smiling. Another Beautiful Soul is Lisandra (usually carrying a Clipboard) and always Smiling …Your Smile and Your Manner are a Joy ! I was However Puzzled that small babies in diapers were allowed in the Adult Pools. There is a Lovely Children’s Pool that I noticed remained almost empty for the time I was there. If children are wearing diapers….Obviously they are doing whatever “Business” they have to do whenever and wherever, which should NOT be in the Adult Pool. If the Parents do not know any better then Perhaps the Hotel should enforce this. And besides…putting a tiny baby in diapers in a Pool of Chemicals is not the best idea in the World. Also….if your Child is Screaming for no apparent reason and Bothering all of the people around them that have paid for a relaxing Vacation at least if you are at the Children’s Pool with Other People and their children it is more acceptable. To these same Parents … Check your Children’s diapers!! If Poop is falling out on the Tiles of the Walkway it might be time for a Change! In Closing there is a Very Abrasive, Rude and Obnoxious Person Named Desmarelda that works on the Floor below Osmary. She is the Only Person I experienced this from and I feel like she does Not fit in with all of the Other Lovely People you have Employed. I Hope to Never see Her again. All in all I enjoyed my stay and will come Back again ..Thank You to Everyone !

Hotel Villa Cuba: Quite the Experience

Where do I begin? Food is awful, staff has the tendancy to give attitude and be very rude. To the lengths of something as simple as asking for another napkin. Rained one night, got electricuted by turning on a light. Was refused drinks because we asked for too many at once. Towels and toilet paper were given but very limited. The beach wasn't a far walk and was beautiful. Best bartending was at the beach bar. Only place to be able to get a drink without getting attitude. Rooms were decently mode [... read more]rn, some things look a bit older than others but for the most part they were okay. Resort is deadsville absolutely nothing to do a certain moments. Resort has potential but can really use a whole facelift to bring it up to date as much as possible.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: I fell ill.

Unfortunately i fell ill due to the unsanitary conditions. Other then that i very much enjoyed the beaches and peninsula. It seems the best way to eat is at restaurants outside the resort. Also my room did not get cleaned.

This is a very well run and well managed resort. The beach is fantastic. The food and service people were great. There was a nice variety of entertainment. The grounds get lots of attention and resort is very clean. It is great value for the money and would highly recommend.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Resort Perfect Beach

Great beach, great room, friendly staff, clean grounds, good food with lots of variety. I really liked how close we were to the airport. I had one hour free wifi (was included in my package) everyday. Lots to see and do. I would come back.

Los Delfines: Our Second Home

This was our second visit within 6 months and it is amazing the upgrades that have happened. The Imperial dining room was opened with fantastic food and amazing presentation and our waiter Gustof was so personable, as were all the staff. Our room was serviced by Bryookas and did a wonderful job. Some of the servers brought their children to the resort and it was nice to meet them. Alain and Levy that worked the 24hr bar were very friendly and the server from the lobby bar brought his son Carl [... read more]os Enriquez, a charming, shy 6 year old that came to hug me. The gentleman that retrieved our luggage from the holding room was so excited that his daughter had just give birth to a baby boy 10 minutes ago and was beaming with joy. Reception staff were very quick to help us. Check in and out was a breeze. The pool was cleaned daily and the lobby bar area was kept nice and clean. Security staff were very friendly, Maurice was so proud to show off his two handsome sons and beautiful wife. What more can I say..except this will be our second home!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Very nice redort

Rooms and grounds very clean and well kept! Beautiful pool area. Lots of chairs available. Bartender at swim up bar was spectacular and dining was wonderful! Most staff pleasant and accommodating! Take bug spray as the mosquitoes are bad at dusk!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great resort

It was a great resort very kid friendly. Entertainment was amazing every night Be sure to know your way around. Not alot of info is given to u when u arrive . Go to orientation. Rooms were okay we stayed in gardenview room. Lots of mosquitos and ants. Lots of food options but good was just okay. Overall great experience. Beach was amazing. Staff very friendly
