Playabachata Hotel: Paradise!

We loved it here. The view from our room was fabulous and we absolutely loved the beach. There were palms for shade and open spots for sun - a perfect combo. The Dominican people were absolutely lovely.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Family Friendly

We travelled with children 9,8 and 1.This hotel was gorgeous and clean, big enough to enjoy but small enough to run to the room and be back in 10min. Many pools to choose from with a nice kids area and another area with water slides. The Beach is beautiful with lots of chairs. Daily activities for adults and children. Entertainment nightly, live performers by the pool, shows in the theatre, games by the pool during the day. Minerva in the kids club is great with the kids and very active. The st [... read more]aff was awesome, most speak great English and are very helpful. The restaurants had fantastic service and the food was amazing, The Steak and the Asian were our favourite. We love the bartender Fabio he was so kind and was sure to take care of my kids when they approached the bar for a drink (non alcoholic of course). They made awesome drinks as well, Mango Margarita, Miami Vice, Pina Colada were my favourite. Lots of food to choose from the buffet at every meal. Our Air Transit Rep was Tony and he was super helpful he’s at the hotel from 9-12, he helped with scheduling our return ride. Also assisted us with booking our excursion, we went to Monkeyland and loved it ! We would definitely return to this resort !!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Fantastic staff

Incredible staff - yoga instructors Chely and J Carlo helped this first time ever yoga student. I enjoyed 11 consecutive lessons. Ramona took great care of our family of 7 (including our 93 year old Dad) on the beach every day. She was a definite highlight of our vacation. Ruben gave my Dad lots of attention which he so enjoyed. Loved watching the vibe team dance. Front desk and concierge people were very helpful. Rooms cleaned beautifully every day. The entire resort was kept very clean always. [... read more] Buffet had lots of good options, again staff was very attentive. Other restaurants were mediocre in quality and service. Enjoyed several entertainment shows.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Very nice resort.

Allareas were clean, safe and very welcoming. All staff went above and beyond the normal to help with anything that you needed or wanted. Everyone tried to make sure to accommodate our group of 7 at all times.

Playabachata Hotel: Good resort

We were very satisfied with the hotel and the rooms. They were a bit old fashioned but clean, the beds were comfortable which was the main thing. It was nice to have quiet rooms and the building only 2 stories high. .It was a bit of a nuisance looking for chairs that were not broken either on the beach and around the pool. We were disappointed with the entertainment, it was the same thing every night except the dancers had different costumes for different themes. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Resort is not good

The resort food is horrible. Absolutely nothing was hot. It is repetitive every single day. At breakfast time you could get a fresh omelet ihowever, for a 14 day stay there was only bacon available five of those days. The only fresh fruit you could get was watermelon. Very disappointed in the food for this resort. The 24 hour beach bar was absolutely disgusting. We were there for 14 nights and attempted to eat there in the afternoon and in the evening and the food was always dry if there was an [... read more]y food at all for a 14 day stay? We saw hamburgers once and they were cold and dried up. My wife got very sick and had to see the doctor for five days of our vacation and to try to get soda crackers was like pulling teeth. I ended up walking to , the mini mall to buy some for her along with Gingerale, as the resort only had Sprite. In addition, when I tried to go get something on the Buffet to bring her to our room to eat like plain white rice, they refused to allow me to take anything out of the Buffet area this is absolutely unacceptable. Housekeeping was hit and miss at best when they did come they would leave us one roll of toilet paper and two bath towels only as we notify them that my wife was sick and we wanted extra toilet paper, face cloths, and extra towels three days of our stay, They never even came to our room. Please note we left money on our pillows and gifts for the staff every single day we had to beg to get a bottle of water in our room and my husband ended up going to buy some at the mini mall because my wife was so sick. Would never go here again

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Very nice place

Great place for a relaxing vacation. Very clean, both rooms and property. Nice pool. Beach is very good to walk on, but there was always seaweed washed up on shore. Not a deal-breaker. Plenty of dining options, but you had to reserve well in advance or miss out. Staff was generally excellent. It would be nice if they understood more English as that was an issue a few times. Special shout out to Maria who works mornings and lunch at the buffet. She brought a smile to our faces every day.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Resort

Having SunClub made all the difference. Personal check in with no line ups was so appreciated. We were not happy with our first room and they very quickly found us another one with pool view. Buffets had good variety and every week has the same rotation of theme nights Restaurants have a good variety of choices for everyone

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing week!

Beautiful grounds. Clean rooms and food was amazing. Ate fish and salads all week with no concern for getting sick. Our butler Angel was great at taking care of all our needs. Highly recommend diamond club for the extra perks of a butler, access to flow rider and the water park at Royalton splash.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very Disappointed

The hotel is smaller than it looks online. The front desk service staff was not very helpful all. They seem to cater more to the locals visiting than to the international travelers. The staff in the buffet restaurant were friendly so i give them 10/10. On top of that our Air Canada rep was useless and gave multiple guests different responses when multiple groups contacted her regarding a complaint. Will not be choosing this resort or the DR again.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Great resort

This was our second time at this resort we went just before COVID. The resort is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. The staff is super friendly. We noticed that this time around that there is less staff who speak English but we just used a translator app, especially if you want decaf coffee in the buffet, lol. The food in the buffet was wonderful with lots of options and we preferred it to the a la carte. The beach is beautiful and very little seaweed as they clean the beach twice a day. The rooms are ok, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We will return, love this resort.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Very nice resort

First time staying at the Senator in Puerto Plata. We checked in really early in the morning and we were given 4th floor - at 3:00am we schepped up 100lb suticases up all these stairs - NOT nice But we realized that I think we had one of the nicest rooms - overlooking the pool area and we had a fan in our room. Not all rooms have fans -important to ask for this - We did however run out of water a few times - in the shower with shampoo on your head and the water stops - OMG finally got it t [... read more]rickling out enough to finish the job. Hot water also disapeared - a few cold showers ! Food was fabulous - people really friendly - the pool area lovelly - NOT enough lounge chairs - if you did not get down by 8:00 am to reserve a chair with your towel you are out of luck for the day not enough chairs by the beach either - Entertainment was non existent at night we went next door to Playa Bachata - older resort but the bar night life was fantastic - we met the greatest people - With all that it was a really nice time - but glad to get home because on the last 2 days I got COVID Nobody's fault - Bahhhhhh

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great resort

Nice clean hotel on a beautiful property. The views from the hotel are amazing. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Wide variety of food at the buffet and the restaurants are very good. Highly recommend the French restaurant.

Playabachata Hotel: Disappointed

Former RIU resort is in disrepair. Needs lots of updating. Check in was terrible. Main check in desk staff were rude and not helpful.The transfer bus dropped us off at wrong lobby. We had to walk with our luggage to “correct check in desk.Rooms and furnishings were tired. We did have one incidence of roach in the room. We were assured the room would be sprayed but that never happened. No water pressure or hot water. Food was average. Usually just warm. Not nearly enough lounges in pool area and none at the beach unless you dragged one from the pool area yourself. A lot of the lounges were literally falling apart and need to be replaced. We have visited the area and Dominican at least 10 plus times over the years and this was the worst experience. Will not return.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: OK

The hotel itself was well kept as was the grounds and beaches. Our booking stated "superior garden suite". There is NO SUCH THING. All the hotel rooms are standard. Also we were advised that we had "privileges" at all hotels. WRONG!! The AIR CANADA REP advised we could use beach, drinks, but for lunch had to go back to our dining room. NOT GOOD. Food was good at main hotel, but, a pain going there for lunch when there were restaurants on beach. The did have a BBQ each day,and SAME [... read more] THING EVERY DAY, salad, hamburgers, chicken and rice, but you had to take your plate back to beach chair to eat. NOT GOOD.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Incredible

The resort gave us everything we were looking for as a vacation destination. It has something for everyone in our family. The amenities were great with incredible customer service from all the staff. We would fully recommend this resort without hesitation.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Just “Good”.

Grounds are clean and well kept. Food is okay, nothing fabulous. A La cartes are okay. Not a lot of entertainment around the pools. Only a handful of umbrellas around the pools and the Premium Pool had none. Never saw our supposed “butler”. Left $ for the maid and saw nothing extra or anything fancy. Premium was a waste of $. Beach was well Kept.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Overall Good

After reading many bad reviews we were a bit worried about this resort. There were areas that needed improvement but nothing that upset our trip. Hot water needs to be addressed resort wide as does basic maintenance and repairs. Overall we enjoyed the the many amenities of the resort and the food was on par with other all-inclusives. We booked restaurants our first day with zero issue. The frost bar was heavy handed on the alcoholic drinks and nothing tasted watered down as I had read in  [... read more]previous reviews. Kids club workers were excellent and interactive with our two-year old. We were not even asked about purchasing time shares or bothered in any way by sales tactics. The resort has plenty of options for pools, bars, entertainment, and food. There are a lot of stairs but even with a stroller didn't mind it as we were prepared for this by the warnings when booking. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a bigger room on the ground floor when they saw we were on the third floor with a young child/baby stroller without us asking at all. Overall it was a good resort for the price. As a budget-conscious traveller it was a great deal. Lastly, I found staff to be friendly and helpful throughout the entire resort - everyone was smiling and happy to help when needed - customer service was excellent. The beach was nothing spectacular so if you are looking for a great beach, this isn't the resort for you, though it was walkable and still beautiful. Freddie our Air Transat rep was fantastic and available to assist when needed.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: A perfect vacation!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the palace punta Cana and I have nothing but amazing things to say! The hotel is extremely clean and beautiful, there are a selection of pools and the food is absolutely amazing! If you are ok with loud club like noise, we highly recommend going to Coco Bongos! It’s approx $100 US per person (depending on how many are going in your group you can usually negotiate) and that includes the bus ride there and back, a pass to get in and unlimited alcohol! The sh [... read more]ow is absolutely incredible! Lots of entertainment in the area as you are able to go to the other resorts. There is a huge water park approx 12 minute walk from the palace. It was incredible. Make sure you bring US money only as they prefer that and if you are look in for an ATM while staying it is located at the casino down the street which only opens at 7pm. That will give you US money. Another ATM I located by the shops close to the report (beside the chocolate store) but only gives Dominican pesos. Five stars for me!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Pleasantly surprised

The Royalton chic had a bit of everything for everyone. The pool area was a big huge party but also had yoga in the am The beach has beautiful soft sand and can walk or run for a long time. The waves were rough for the past couple weeks. Being the Atlantic I can see that The diamond club rooms were very spacious and in my opinion a MUST I don’t think I would like the resort as much.
