Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Luxury Bahia Príncipe runaway bay

Beautiful and clean. Grounds were well kept. Very friendly staff. Our butler was amazing. There was a sewage smell issue in the room. View was amazing. Beach area was below standard. Not much of a walking area on the beach and the adults only side is very close the the 4 lane highway. All and all, relaxed the whole week. Buffett was excellent

Melia Braco Village: Soft Lauch had many problems

Well it was lovely but it was at low capacity. I would not want to stay there when it is full as the facilities are not that big. Only one pool and rather small and not very deep. Also NO UMBRELLA'S anywhere on the resort so my mother who is 83 got burnt several times even though we put lotion as there was hardly any shade. She burnt her feet and her bottom lip and I had to run to the store several times for different things as she was suffering. About the store thank god for it and the girls in [... read more] the store were awesome and so were the prices. I had to call for service to our room everyday. Our fridge was not restocked ...not even water and we can't drink the water. Then it was no coffee, no wash clothes, no toilet paper it was seriously a terrible issue. Also in the room the air fan RUNS ALL the time. I could hardly here my mother talk to me. Why does it have to run even when the room is cool???? Waste of energy as well. The fridge was hot and the shower leaked all over the floor. The chairs are terrible with a ridge that hits the bottom of your back so bad that you had to put your towel there. ONE more serious thing was that the BEACH sign says watch for the flags to know if the beach is SAFE but guess what they don't use them so I went snorkeling when it was NOT safe and the lifeguard had to come save me. Thank god he was on the job as I would not be here to write as the ocean was taking me out....Linda

Sandals Negril: Amazing second honeymoon

Sandals Negril Jamaica was the absolute best! Best service, best food, beautiful beach and wonderful people We want to go back and stay longer next time It was romantic It was a party It was relaxing Spectacular!!!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Fantastic resort

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The food, service, cleanliness and friendliness of the people was second to none. I had sent a request to Grand Palladium asking for a room close to all amenities and my request was granted.

Riu Negril: Great Resort!

Great food and lots of selection every night at main buffet. Very clean resort both on grounds and rooms. Staff were friendly and welcoming, never felt unsafe on resort, beach or out with the locals. Beach was beautiful and perfect for walking along or tanning, but also enough shady areas for those of us that tend to burn easy. Ocean is shallow and weedy in front of resort so not the best for swimming...but it was perfect and easy to snorkel and see tons of fish and marine life (urchins, starfis [... read more]h, coral, etc).

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Stinks!

Overall this resort is beautiful. Our room looked great and had an amazing view, grounds were beautiful, food was fantastic, and staff were overall pretty friendly. We stayed in Building 25 on the 7th floor (25708) which had a panoramic ocean view. The only problem was that the room started to smell like sewage on day 2 of our trip. We immediately reported it and maintenance people came to look. They could not change us to a different room at first because the hotel was "booked". This odour was  [... read more]not present at all times...it was there in the morning for a few hours, later in the afternoon for a few hours, and sometimes the smell woke us up in the middle of the night. By the following day (after reporting the odour again), one manager brought us to look at another room on the 5th floor that we could move to. Unfortunately, that one had the same smell. Another manager gave us a Febreeze scented oil thing to put in our vent (which did not help). We spoke to several people who were in the same building (some were on different floors) who had the same complaint (some of which did not report it). There were no other options available to us. The only solution was to cover up the smell by burning scented oils. They had plenty of oils and tea lights and we made the best out of a bad situation and tried to cover up the smell. This meant having to wake in the middle of the night to change the oil and light another candle so not really the most restful of vacations. We did not hear of any of the other buildings on the "Luxury" side having this issue. Another issue was that we organized room service to deliver coffee and fruit each morning but it was only delivered 2 out of 7 days. As coffee and a coffee maker are provided in the room, this was not a deal-breaker for us. If you could avoid building 25, I would recommend this resort.

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Good resort

Clean and friendly staff except breakfast. The worst continental breakfast I've had in the last ten years maybe more. A very limited number of meals shared issued by the staff. There are no umbrellas on the beach.

Riu Negril: Riu Negril, fun vacation

We stayed at the Riu Negril, March 31 to April 7. When we walked into the lobby we had a beautiful view of the ocean. Check-in went smoothly and we made our way to our room. We were in building two which was the perfect location. It was the only building with a pool in the courtyard. There was also a main pool further down with daily activities. We had an ocean view room that was small,but clean and comfortable, thanks to Paulette our housekeeper. There were cold drinks in the fridge which were  [... read more]replenished every second day. We went to the buffet for the majority of our meals because the food was so good. We tried one a la cart (Asian) which was also very good. We were concerned about mosquitoes but only saw three within the week. However there were minuscule black bugs that did bite so I would recommend bug spray. The Sun Wing representative Hubertprovided the information we needed and was readily available. Because we were in a bay, there wasn't very much wind and the water was very calm. The beach was great but I did not like the water. There were patches of weeds and my husband was stung by something, probably a sea urchin. I would recommend water shoes . There were vendors on the beach but a simple no thank you was accepted. There were numerous security guards walking the beach. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and everyone spoke English. We were confused by the no tipping policy and inquired about it. We were told that tipping wasn't mandatory but very much appreciated so we tipped the same way we tipped at other resorts. If you want to hear an amazing singer, go to the lobby bar in the evening. The bartender has a fantastic voice. There was a good band in the courtyard also. The stage shows were okay. Overall we had a fun and relaxing vacation.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Fantastic Trip!

Everything from start to finish at this resort was fantastic. The food, the people, the cutlure. What an amazing week. I didnt want to come home!!! Make sure you enjoy every restaurant becuase each of them offer amazing choices. Highly recommend a trip to the Lady Hamilton!!

Jewel Paradise Cove: Found Paradise at Jewel Paradise Cove

The hotel is exactly as shown. Small enough to never get lost, to connect with the staff but large enough to feel like a resort. My favorite restaurant was the Moonstone due to the ocean views and openness of it. The food was great throughout the resort. Special note the Aquamarine Grill Jerk Chicken was a daily lunch for us. Jewel Paradise Cove: Amazing Resort

Quiet, Spacious, Clean, Bright, Cozy, Great Food. Great Entertainment. The Sing along Piano Bar at 10:30pm was my Favorite. Great Maid Service. Free Water Sports. Hard Working Staff that go out of there way to please you and to make your Vacation a Memorable one. Great Resort.

Hedonism II: Overall a great vacation!

Resort was lovely, very clean and well maintained. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed been able to sunbathe naked and not feel uncomfortable. Entertainment at night needed more variety. There seemed to be a lull at night between 10:30 and 12:30 unless you went to nude pool and hot tub. Nude pool area was small but beach was lovely and very well maintained.

Riu Negril: Great trip- planning to return!

My wife and I just got back from our Jamaica vacation at the Rui Negril. Booked the trip through our Super agent Lisa Akenhead @ TripCentral in Ottawa. Everything was as expected. No surprises. Flight on Sunwing , transfers and check-in all went very well. The newly renovated rooms were spotless and kept very well during our stay. The hotel staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: beautiful resort

It was a very nice resort. but there was only one buffet since we couldn't use the other buffet for exclusive part of the resort. Our room in 15 section on the first floor was very noisy during the night.

Couples Sans Souci: Loved Couples Sans Souci

This was our second visit to a Couples property (we visited Couples Negril in 2015 for a week) and reaffirmed that Couples is a premium resort group. Our room (Beachfront Suite in Building A) was lovely, the food was excellent, the facilities (pools, beach, watersports, spa, restaurants, bars, etc.) were fantastic but above all else was the quality of the staff. Only 150 rooms so never a lineup for anything, no crazy Spring Breakers and even the small wedding groups that we encountered were low-key. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing Trip

The grounds were immaculately kept. Everyone was so helpful, kind and polite. We were on the luxury side and so happy that we were. It was so relaxing and peaceful, with music and fun activities starting at a reasonable time in the afternoon. Drinks, especially Pina coladas were great. Our room was on the ground floor with a nice view of both the pools and the ocean. Our only complaint was that the mosquitos all seemed to want to live in our room... Whenever the door opened a bunch seemed to com [... read more]e in. And since the hotel is continually restocking your mini bar, cleaning your room/turn down service they come in often. Would be nice to have some sort of option for a mosquito net at night around the bed! This is probably only an issue for the ground floor. I would request to be higher up next time we visit. Luxury side is perfect if you don't have kids and are looking to relax and unwind but also have a good time.

Franklyn D. Resort: Epic experience

Although a modest resort it was one of my best trips ever with my two children. I've been to Turks at beaches and my children seemed to enjoy themselves more here. It's relaxed atmosphere and warmth make it feel like a home away from home .. People know your children by name within a day.. Truly an unforgettable vacation. My eight year old described it as "epic"!! Need I say more.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Nice week

Semi conflicted...Wonderful staff/service, terrific food/variety, beautifully maintained landscaping, POOLS were nice...beach not so much, entertainment a little lacking...goat races not so much fun for the goats, slide...FUN!, snorkelling...Awesome!

Grand Pineapple Beach: Grand Pineapple Beach Resort Negril Jamaica

Nice resort. Rooms are comfortable. If you book the gardenview side of the resort you will have to cross the street to access the beach. Oceanside is for sure worth the extra money. Locals get to be a bit irritating constantly trying to sell you things. They stand on the shoreline and target you when you go in for a swim. Other than that it is definitely good value for your money.
