Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Excellent trip from start to finish

The service that I received from tripcentral was amazing and one of the best customer service experiences of my life. Ash took care of me from start to finish and what could have been a stressful experience was not at all due to Ash. The flight times were perfect and the airline Sunwing was quick and efficient. Crown Paradise Club: Not as expected

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We knew it was a family hotel however were a little overwhelmed by how many kids were there. We had no problem getting into the buffet for eating but it was extremely noisy. It may have been spring break for a lot which would explain it. Lots however for kids to do. We requested tea however on the request sheet in the room but didn’t get it. We ended up getting some from the restaurant. There also was a bad odour from the bathroom in the room, and beds (mattresses) stored right outside our door and many others the whole time we were there. Not sure if the rooms in the bigger part of the hotel would have been better or not. On day two we requested an upgrade to the Crown Paradise Golden however couldn’t get in for a few days. We didn’t complain about these two issues as we were leaving. We did find the adult only pool which made for a relaxing time. On the whole, good staff, good service however the part we were in was definitely not 4 star material. Would not recommend for adults only..

Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort and Spa: Good

Overall service is very good, waitresses are very kind, hotel is old. We had a room with ocean view and a small pool which was very nice! Food is not the greatest in the restaurants but it is ok, we had dinner in the Italian restaurant and the pizza was made on a pita bread breakfasts are amazing can’t complain! Overall everything was ok with the resort

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Average

Barcelo Review Poor communication, both WestJet and Barcelo. Advertised with bathrobes and slippers in the room - not here. We booked the Tropical and the bus guy could not find us on the list, wonder why. We got to reception and were told we were moved to Colonial because Tropical was full and computer reassigns automatically. I had read about this in other reviews so insisted we stay in Tropical and they “found” us a room. Also try to find a WestJet rep at the hotel - nonexistent. They us [... read more]e contractors we found out from the Transat rep but no indication of what hours they are available. Be prepared for a lot of walking! No maps as handouts for directions, only enlarged air photos in a few places throughout the resort for you to figure out. Our room was 400m from beach and 400m from buffet restaurant. The resort is huge but lots of spaces for people to spread out. The Barcelo bus was fun riding between locations but only 10-15 minute walk from one end to the other. Room was nice although showing wear and tear, the sink was falling off, bathtub was chipped and repaired, coffee maker plastic parts broken, cabinet doors loose and misaligned, balcony door did not lock, water damage on ceiling in bathroom, lack of circulation fan so towels never dried. Dining service was great in most a la cartes but lacking in the buffets. Lots of food choices and yes some were not kept hot but most were fine. Pool/beachfront bars open only until 6pm and then only lobby and theatre bars open. Lobby bars did not all have the same selections, Tropical the least. Pool bars also had different choices, draft beer at one, Corona cans at another. Lounge chairs were always available somewhere all the time, just the prime ones were saved by early risers. Sad to say some people saved both beach and poolside chairs and hardly stayed at either. Towels were not always tracked so people took lots and left a lot laying around unclaimed by sunset. The beach has palm trees for shade so chairs moved around with sun. Sandy part of the beach was quite narrow and seaweed washing up from constant wave and wind action. Maintenance staff removed most of it every day but always some to walk over. Limestone rocks in the water and on the beach made walking in a hazard if you could not see them but nice and sandy bottom further out from shore. Schools of fish in shallow to see as you waded out. Snorkelling not great except at north end along coral fingers. Visibility best in morning before water stirred up. Ocean and pools were warm and warmed up throughout the day. Entertainment was top notch but not very family friendly with lots of skin showing on the women and lots of ass wiggling. Acoustics not great with volume too loud and lots of echo in the theatre so could not make out the lyrics to songs and announcers spoke so fast could not understand them. Overall a decent resort but not up 4 star standards.

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: Incredible

My wife and I had amazing trip, thanx to Nicole Kirk and Trip Central. Not sure where to start. The room, weather, workers, beach and food were incredible. Rooms were clean and always stocked, if not, I asked and they delivered. The food at all the restaurants was excellent, and so was the room service, very little waiting. The workers were always busy and friendly. The beach and snorkeling were awesome. Water was a bit cloudy a couple of days, so I couldn't really snorkel, but swam on those da [... read more]ys. Spent many hours snorkeling on clear days, a bit rocky to get in, so I just kinda swam in. Tons of fish around the "Shark" to feed. Saw, a small sting ray, star fish, puffer fish and a Moray Eel, which lunged at me. Went on Zeus Snorkeling, highly recommended. Spent a lot of time in water exploring the reefs and observing huge sting rays, at the end of the excursion. Minor complaint's, noise from other rooms, slippery area around pool. I believe the noise issue is being addressed, by replacing all the doors. Those minor issue did not dissuade us at all, giving it a Five Star Rating. Special shout out to Angel at the Beach Bar and Susan, the Hostess. Also like to thank Francisco, who lives nearby who helped "guide" my wife and I, we hope to return soon, to Cozumel.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Value resort

Overall amazing people great service. Beach is super full of seaweed. Sofa in the rooms are dirty bathtubs inside and outside of the room are dirty looking and not inviting. It's good for the value.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Resort

So much to love about this resort. Rooms were nice, pools were well kept, food was good. Service was great. The booking through tripcentral.ca was so simple and quick. The trip from airport to resort was terrible. 2 hour wait before leaving airport. 2.5 hour trip. Almost 5 hours from rival. The resort requires a lot of walking.

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful resort

The Riu is my go to hotel chain in Mexico and this is my third stay at the Jalisco. It is definitely a 4+ star hotel and I love the staff, the service, and the wide selection of fresh food (and especially sea food). It is ideal for families! Just a couple of suggestions however. 1. The coffee needs improvement! I would rate it 1 out 5 stars. It tastes burnt and recycled. The best coffee is found in the sports bar. Can we also have a return of “non-dairy coffee creamer” in packets please.  [... read more] 2. The wines and some of the liquors could be improved 2 out of 5 stars. 3. The fitness Center. The equipment needs better maintenance. It is old, does not function properly and maybe unsafe. Overall I still love the Riu chain and PVR. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great for families!

We had a wonderful time at this resort, as a family of 3. We worried that our 11 year old might get bored but not the case at all. So many activities available for all to enjoy and shows every night. Food was disappointing, often cold at buffets and little variety (particularly for kids). Was there a bacon shortage in Mexico?? Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa

Okay.....so let me tell you! The Golden is the most amazing fun, fabulous vacation resort around. The hotel is so so clean. Everything gets cleaned every day, The bartenders are absolutely amazing. Service in the Golden is #1 and par none! All the extracurricular activities are so much fun! The waters are several colours of sky blue and so mesmerizing. The pool is awesome; you can chill in the pool and overlook the beach ocean. There are numerous bars all of which are so amazing! You CANNOT go wrong staying at the Golden. We had so much FUN! We loved every minute of our stay. If you are a social person you will enjoy this Resort so much! So many people we met have been going to the Golden for 6 to 20 years. That's gotta tell you! Everyone we met was so much fun and friendly. I just can't say enough about my stay. I loved it! I really found MY HAPPY PLACE!!!! Can't wait to go back!

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Amazing resort

Our family had great time at the resort. Food, services everything was great except last day when we had issue with the running cold water. I would recommend to have little bit more choices for vegetarians. We were turned down from burgers restaurants many times because they always ran out of fries and veggie burgers. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing Resort

Staff were Great. Friendly and making sure all was fine The food was great and many choices at the Buffet and the restaurants the carts at the resort had enough to choose from, eating, deserts, gifts their is plenty of places to sit and relax and have a drink. Many many places to explore and see wild life

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent Vacation

Everything about this place was wonderful clean rooms, great food and drinks at the many restaurants and bars, many pool options, nightly entertainment adult only and a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Thick foliage everywhere and such a kind staff. Wouldn't recommend for a younger party crowd

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Would have to say less than 4 star

Getting towels was an issue had to go to the front desk 3 times first day 1 bath towel no hand or face next day 2 bath towels only challenge to get smaller towels wish there was more specially dinner Italian and Mexican were excellent Japanese wasn't good no hot food only sushi 1 waiter and 1 cook felt sorry for them entertainment was good resort was clean staff was friendly it was great to escape the rain in Vancouver margarine only would love butter

Sandos Cancun: A very convenient resort

The spectacular, seaweed-free, beach with ample shade was great! The diligent staff offered free umbrellas to all patrons and did not expect a tip although I always gave one. Beverage waiters also offered free drinks with no expectation of tip or reluctance to serve non tippers! 3 pools were enjoyed by the younger crowd whose average age was about 40. View from our 6th floor room was ok - balcony was tiny. Stephano (concierge) was our favourite go to guy! Excellent English and very helpful booking restaurants and showing our group of 4 around. A very valuable staff member! The weakest part of Sandos was the food! It was more like Cuba with a 3-4 star rating. This was the only weakness of an otherwise very enjoyable small resort.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort

Extremely clean hotel, great food & staff throughout the resort! Rooms were spacious, cleaned everyday. The grounds were taking care of, bars were well stocked. Pools kept clean, lots of lounges to choose from. The ocean is filled with Sargassum which no hotel can avoid.

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice Resort

For the price we paid for this trip, it was a great value. The food could be better. Got tired of the same food over and over. My friend got sick in the last 3 days of the trip and is still sick and we have been home for 2 days now. Not sure if it was the food or drinks that caused it. We do question the ice (is it made from bottled water) and question when food is rinsed/washed, is bottled water used. Also is the food cooked in bottled water? Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Loved it!!!

Beautiful beach, very mesmerizing. Adult pool had many activities, my fav was water aerobics. Lots to see and do. Time went by so quickly, never had a chance to check out all the restaurants. Shout out to Christopher, in customer services for providing me with helpful info pertaining to events, activities & restaurants. Muchas Gracias!!

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Very nice resort.

We liked the layout, that kept everything in close proximity. For the most part Staff were friendly and helpful. The resort was very clean and well maintained. We are definitely considering a return trip.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Nice resort but baaaad food.

Beautiful resort, nice trees and animals. The room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was outdated and a bit run down. Service was fine and polite but the food was horrible. This is the first time I have ever had bad food in Mexico. It was as bad as Cuba. Really disappointing especially considering how high trip prices were this year. I would not return to or recommend this resort unless it got a total overhaul from top to bottom.
