Sol Varadero Beach: Good place
Its a good 3 1/2 stars hotel. Amazing Entertainment! Evenings show was beyond our expectation. The beach is just simply the best. This is why we coming back to Cuba. Food and service is average. Hotel needs renovation and updates of beds and bedding.
Memories Cayo Largo: GEM of a trip!
Having been in Cuba numerous times, our expectations continued positive. Our choice, Cayo Largo, proved superb as this is an island that holds natural beauty: dunes, pristine white powder sand, azur ocean on the south west side of Cuba. This island has no inhabitants--- hotel service personell live in a specifically built village where they reside during their work term. Sol Cayo Largo Hotel is one of the earliest hotels built where we enjoyed large, spotless clean room on the upper [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disappointing
This being our 7th time visiting a resort in Cuba (the first for this one), the two areas we were disappointed with most at this resort the food and the service. Both were not in line with would be considered "5 star" even by Cuba's standards. The staff overall seemed less helpful, happy, and friendly than what I have experienced previously. Food was questionable (canned vegetables at the buffet as one example) and ordered food was not what you expect (a margherita pizza was a cheese pizza with [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful trip
Accomodations were great. Quiet building close to everything, but far enough away for quiet time if needed. Pool area, and grounds were beautiful, beach was gorgeous. Staff were all awesome. Helpful to a fault, and very friendly.Supplies for "activities" very limited ie bring your own tennis raquets and balls etc. Overall great
Hotel Camino del Mar: Our Place in the Sun
We have been at this resort numerous times and can foresee many more visits. It is an older resort, showing signs of wear and tear, but they are working on the extensive renovations. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. The beach is huge and very clean, with lots of room. Snorkeling right off the shore is a huge bonus for us. The food was very good. The nightly entertainment was also very good.
Melia Cayo Coco: Number One in our books
Melia Cayo Coco has now become our second home. We have met so many wonderful people and have many new friends with the staff. This resort is like a family and they treat you this way. The food, rooms and grounds are fantastic and we can wait to go back next year. This resort is 5+ in our books.
Memories Cayo Largo: Best hotel on the island
Sol Cayo Largo is a quiet hotel. Best beach since the storms washed many other beaches away. Grounds are kept up and has a wonderful tropical feel. Huge pool with plenty of chairs and locations to choose. Love the beach. Food is limited and repetitive. One can always make a meal out of what is offered. The week I was there most guests were in bed by 11 but a number of true Canadians would make use of the 24 hr bar. Lovely staff.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Not greatgrounds
Grounds beautiful, pool a d beach gorgeous, food is disgusting in buffet and restaurants, rooms very dated, not cleaned well,no hot water all week,no water pressure, would not go back, waiters at bars and pool awesome
Melia Cayo Coco: Best Resort
The resort is small and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful, their favourite word is yes. The rooms are lovely and clean as is all the resort and especially the bathrooms. Good entertainment in the evenings and many activities during the day. We will be going back again next year.
Sol Palmeras: Pleasant Surprise!
Our party of 5 spent a week. My third time to Cuba, first in Varadero. This was by far the best. Resort, pool and beach are outstanding. The a la carte menus were quite good. Most staff very accommodating and grateful for any tips or gifts. I wish I had taken more basics to pass on. Toothpaste, floss, toothbrushes, disposable razors, deodorant.....you name it, anything we take for granted is a luxury for these folks, so be sure to pack extra! We took two trips outside the resort. Day trip to Hav [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Beautiful resort
We would rate the resort with four stars. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms comfortable with a great view to the pool and grounds area. The two level setup for the room was good but a railing to go down the two steps would have helped the elderly. Two of the three restaurants were good, the buffet reasonable. The personnel were amazing. We would go there again.
Melia Marina Varadero: Apartment or Hotel?
To our surprise, not realizing what was booked, we were shuttled one kilometre away from the Hotel to an apartment time share. After complaining to the manager he gave us a room on the main floor at the actual Hotel, after which we were pleasantly surprised. Food , entertainment, hotel staff and accommodations were all 5 star. We had a blast! Great choice!!
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Had a Blast
The hotel was very nice and clean. Food was great. Always had something special going on in the buffet. I loved the salad maker in the evenings at the buffet. She mixed all the ingredients together that you selected. The property was well maintained. We had an excellent maid named Ruby. She always had special animals made up on our bed everyday with the towels. If you gave a bit of a tip for various services you were treated like a queen. Found a grasshopper in my underwear drawer. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: do not used the a/c full of mould
I got sick from the mould on my second day there, went to the doctor & had to pay cash of 400.00, I only had 2 days to enjoy myself first & last, our maid was great, food was all right, we had plenty of hot water, toilet paper & towels,
Melia Las Dunas: Our room was excellent
The hotel, grounds, staff were all exceptional but the dining experience has certainly gone down from our previous visit 3 years ago when it was excellent. If you want return customers I suggest you look at reviewing your meal plan. I was not feeling well and my husband could not take anything up to my room as dishes could not be taken from the snack bar or dining room.. My husband asked if we could see someone medically and was told I could take a double decker bus to a medical clinic, I was co [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: The good and the not so good
This resort is pretty large so lots of walking. There are shuttles but they don't run on a regular schedule. The lobby is awesome and the entertainment (woodwind quintet, vocal groups and good bands) is really good if you know where to find it. Over one area of the bar is a television screen which tells you what's happening. We didn't find this until day 3! Check in ran smoothly but no map of the grounds was included with our keys. Signage is lacking so it was easy to get lost. The food w [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Exceeded expectations!
The food was NOT bland, in fact it was excellent. The Japanese restaurant was our favourite but the others were excellent too. Resort is clean and well-maintained. Felt safe the whole time. Beach was awesome. Pool is the best we have seen. Wine with dinner was actually quite palletable (bottled, Chilean). The tips are expected despite what you might read... really hard to get CUC currency as the Cadeca cannot provide small denomination and then you are forced to give large tips (like 10 CUC = 15 [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Fun and Sun
We loved our vacation at this resort. The staff are so friendly and courteous, we felt immediately at home. Food was good, rooms were comfortable, and we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. We took part in many of the activities and enjoyed the entertainment.
Melia Buenavista: Wonderful resort
We adored the resort: beautiful location, beaches, lovely landscaping with a variety of flowering tropical plants and palms, beautifully designed spacious apartments – very clean, well maintained, we had a gorgeous view to the ocean, lovely balcony, comfortable king size bed, exotic big outdoor shower, Jacuzzi bathtub. Reliable fast internet, no limit, included at no extra fee (at the lobby). Lovely live music: piano at the bar in the evenings, jazz at the pool, guitar at breakfast, violin or [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Amazing Vacation!!!
The Melia Las Dunas was a great hotel with a spectacular beach. The food was consistently good and the service was top notch. My family has vacationed at Club Meds in the past and this hotel in Cuba was comparatively as good if you filter in the cost which would have been one third the price of a Club med. Would definitely go back and book with Susan Snider, Trip Central
