Armony Marival Resort and Spa Punta de Mita: Beautiful 10/10 experience
Aside from the hot tubs being 300$ usd for a few hours, everything was beautiful, the people were so kind and nice and the food was soooooo damn good especially the buffet by the beach. It was good vibes the whole way through, they provided the best experience for a luxury resort.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: 15th visit and still amazing
My wife and I have just returned from our 15th visit (29th & 30th weeks) to this wonderful resort. The weather was perfect for the entire 14 days we were there. It was nice to catch up with so many of the staff members whom we have become friends with over the 15 years we have been visiting this resort. The food was excellent at all of the al a carte restaurants making it impossible to choose our favorite. We also tried the Food Truck lunches around the pool and enjoyed them as well. The recentl[... read more]y opened Coffee shop offers many great special coffee drinks as well as ice cream, sandwiches and amazing dessert treats. We stayed in the standard Deluxe Jr. Suite and we opted for the Privilage package. Although these rooms have yet to be renovated the room was clean, comfortable and centrally located. The staff at this resort are fabulous and do their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A special shout out to Osmar at the Don Miguel bar where he made our nightly visits extra enjoyable. The entertainment is enjoyable, especially the 3 Tenors and the Imperial band. The main pool was busy but not crowded at the end where we spent our time. The main activity area of the pool is busier and offers many activities for those whose enjoy that type of thing. The Beach was as beautiful as ever and although there has been a lot of discussion recently in reference to the Sargassum (seaweed) issues in the region, the Sargassum comes and goes depending on the sea currents and size of the waves due to the winds coming off the sea. The Valentin does a remarkable job cleaning as much of the Sargassum as possible with their tractor and raking devise in an attempt to limit the effect on beach goers. We were told the resort was around 85% occupancy but as usual this resort made it seem less crowded than you would expect. We love this resort and will return for our 16th trip next year.

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: Second time at dreams Cozumel this year
We returned to Dreams in April after a great experience in January.
The resort setting is excellent and the architecture and finishes are first class by Mexican standards. Food selection and quality both excellent especially in Olio and Annato. Service much improved form January in all venues.
We plan to return to Dreams Cozumel 2 or 3 times in fall/winter 2023/2024.

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Awesome time and resort!
My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon and anniversary over the past week. It was our first time at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres as well as our first time in Costa Mujeres. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the Club package (adults only) complimentary because we were on our honeymoon, which we so appreciate and definitely made our experience so much better thank you, Adilene!
I've never stayed at a resort where the service was 1000% top-notch and excellent. The workers work sooooo hard [... read more]and always present a happy, friendly face. Our butler Gloria was fabulous and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay as well as set up a lovely celebration in our room for our honeymoon.
As part of the club package, you are able to have a la carte breakfast and lunch at their Italian restaurant il bottaccio, and both Martin and Luis (servers) provided excellent service every time. They definitely made our meals so much more enjoyable and were always so polite and courteous.
I loved that the majority of the restaurants did not require reservations and that our butler Gloria was able to help us out with resos for the Japanese (shout out to Carlos the chef) and French restaurants. For our anniversary dinner, our server Carlos at Bistro brought out champagne and a special anniversary dessert. We appreciated his efforts to go above and beyond.
We enjoyed the lobby bar, especially with Diego, the bar tender, who always made it a point to make you feel welcome and entertained. He and the staff also made the most amazing drinks and had top shelf liquor available. Grey goose and Hennessey lol!
Above all we enjoyed our stay it was super relaxing and we also enjoyed our meals. We would 1000% return just based on the service and the ambiance. I highly recommend Majestic Elegance and hope to return again! Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our trip so memorable.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Dreams but not dreams
Grounds nice, landscaping could be better, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, service good. Hotel inside is very poor; in the hallway is only 5-7 tables to sit; if it rains guests stay in their rooms. Early flight no coffee, no food provided; not organized at all. Line ups for food, they wait for guest to tell how many pieces of chicken of fish in the mean time people pile up waiting in long lines. Buffet was only breakfast and lunch, for dinner you have to go to restaurant of your choice and wa[... read more]it to be served for hours. I am not exaggerating; this is for real. Unbelievable!!! Very disappointing with the choice this time, never again.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort
I was at the resort in April 2023 and had a wonderful stay! The rooms had recently been renovated and were nice, food was good (lot's of variety), never had to wait too long for a drink and the grounds were beautiful and impeccably kept. For me the only downside was the evening entertainment which I found to be lacking. Having said that I would definitely go back!

Royal Hideaway Playacar: A very beautiful and restful resort.
Our room was very nice and comfortable. The staff were very nice, especially the breakfast staff. Elena always greeted us with a lovely smile and got to know us as we entered for breakfast and lunch.
I would like to send a note to Isidore, our concierge for building 23. We left him a tip, but unfortunately we left only around $1.00 in American dollars. We were under the impression we left more. Please pass on our apologies to him. We did not mean to insult him. Isidore was very helpful and so[... read more] kind to us.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Modern living and eating in MX!
It felt like living in a modern minimalist cool chic museum.
Food was top notch - especially the French and Japanese a la cartes. The Seafood at the Palace was out of this world.
Rooms were luxorious with a hot tub. Pools were clean and fun jets. Beach was sandy and do bring water shoes as there is sharp rocks every so often in the ocean. We saw large and small and colourful fish. Coral. A big highlight of the trip. Staff were pleasant and kind and helpful. Ping pong was a highlight for me. Secrets Huatulco: Excellent resort
We found the resort and all amenities to be very clean. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. If you are looking at relaxing this is the place. Entertainment was not great but all venues were enjoyed. The food was very good to excellent. Breakfast and lunches were excellent. The dinners are open to your own personal taste, we personally enjoyed the good variety and 5 course served dinners. Did not have room for desserts so got more creative with what we ordered for appetizers. You wil[... read more]l not go hungry at this resort. Bar service at the pool and beach excellent.
People do not waste food at the resort and dish up appropriately.
The beach is weather dependent with waves, however there is an area where you can take in the ocean most days if you want to swim or snorkel. The fish are colourful and there are 2 beaches to enjoy that are safe.
Location to town is good only 85 pesos $7 CDN one way, I would recommend early morning visits to 11 AM or after 7pm evening excursions. Be close to water and in the shade from 11AM to 4PM to enjoy your stay, it gets stifling hot and the UV is at 12 so getting a sunburn can happen very quickly.
We would definitely go back.
Only one negative to the resort and it was the towel game, there were people putting towels and moving chairs at 4 AM to save a spot on the beach or poolside. This needs to be addressed by staff. However, the staff were always accommodating and helped us find chairs and shade fairly quickly usually removing someone else’s towels. They watch to see who was using chairs and who isn’t.

Riu Flamingos: Disappointing
Pros: friendly staff, nice beach, Michael Jackson evening show was good
Cons: no pool or beach servers, food was very bland and a la Cartes weren't any better than the buffets, standard room is very small, in order to avoid "chair gate" you need to get up at 6am to secure your spot, adult entertainment was limited to a nightly show - no bingo nights, karaoke, trivia, etc.
Everything was beautiful and clean. Good choice of restaurants and no need for reservations which is excellent! The service is unlike any other resorts that I have been to. Absolutely amazing !! The activities around the pool are so much fun and there are plenty. The grounds are absolutely beautiful!! This is my 3rd time at the Valentine and I recommend this resort 100% !! You'll never want to go anywhere else!

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Good resort - not for beach people
Ocean Coral is a good resort. To put this review into context, we were two couples looking for some R&R. We choose this resort because of the location, price and the variety of options. We were lucky (and asked for this in advance) to be put into the adults only section and upgraded to Privilege. While the upgrade wasn't overly expensive, it was worth it to us. We mostly hung out in the Adults only section and were happy for the peace. There were other options if you wanted a swim up bar, p[... read more]arty and had your kids but that wasn't our scene. It was nice to have an option for quiet and an option to party if you wanted. I found that most people respected the vibe in those areas. Except for those - and there are always a few - who play their own music loudly on the beach, by the pool etc.. seriously get headphones is it so rude.
The food was ok. We had a mix of experiences from good to decent. Never really any blow your mind food. The buffet (both) was really bad at all times. Thank goodness for the privilege lounge but that menu got stale quickly and forced us to move around. Unfortunately not a lot of non buffet options for lunch. This is not a resort for beach lovers. It is very narrow and while you can't control the waves, it is really narrow and difficult to maintain so if you want to spend all your time on a lovely beach - go to Maroma. The gym is very small but functional. Here is a tip for those who upgrade.... you can book the water experience at the spa, free of charge, every day if you want. HELLO. They don't tell you that. We booked it 5 of the 7 days and it was an excellent addition to our holidays. Overall the trip was great, the food was decent but not spectacular, the pools amazing, the lobby and lobby bar fantastic, beach was nice to see and hear the waves. Overall this is an affordable, decent hotel. If you want a holiday with your kids, this may be the place for you. If you want to party at the swim up pool bar, you have that option too. Everyone talks about the beach chair challenge. It exists. Not for the beach - tons of options at all times. AT the pools 100%. At the swim up bar, if you didn't grab one by 7:00 you were out of luck completely. At the adults only pool, by 7:30. The butler is no help on this at all. You need to coordinate with the towel guy. The beds by the pool very difficult to get and you need to negotiate with the towel guy and basically pay him to get one for you. The butler was not really that useful - really only for dinner reservations, which I would encourage you to book day one. Do your research in advance and book immediately. To me the towel experience and the reservations experience is what takes this hotel down in the * category. Too complicated. Book a reservation, trust that we will return our towels, show up a restaurant and go for a drink when you have to wait 30 mins. They over think it and I get that reservations are important but there could be some accommodation for going with the flow a bit and for those who are willing to wait. One constructive comment would be is that there seems to be an overall lack of training and/or leadership with the staff. What do I mean? Well it is not instinctive to solve problems, to provide stellar service. It did happen on occasion but you can tell there is a lack of training and organizational culture at the hotel. To me this is a leadership/management role and is where other hotels like Excellence stand out among the rest. This can be changed, it doesn't cost money but it has to be a priority of the leadership and it doesn't seem to be. Would I recommend? Yes but go in with some managed expectations and know what is important to you before you go.
