Riu Palace Antillas: Over rated
This is not a five star hotel. The rooms are very tired and in need of renovation. We had to ask for something to put on the bed as it was so hard you could feel the springs at the side of the bed. They fixed this with a quilted cover which improved it. The service was excellent as far as towels and replenishment of bar etc. Beach had a portion of it with sharp shards in it so sandals a must. Also lots of cigarette buts. Beware to there is no smoking policy here. You can smoke anywhere. The food [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: Not impressed
We had no hot water for the whole time we were at this resort....Beds were very hard and outdated....light in shower did not work the whole time we were there, we asked for them to fix it and they said they did but it never worked
Riu Santa Fe: Awesome Holiday !!
We just got back from a week here on Feb 29..was an awesome resort ! Very large, if you stay in 7 you have a long walk to the lobby and buffet, but the steak house was close and had very good food. Found it was quite the party place, lots of young adults, not easy to get room in the swim up bar pools. Very nice beach, although you cant swim in the ocean here. We went on some very nice excursions. Large variety of food each day, but every day had the same choices. Our room was classed as oceanvie [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: resort was nice
went with a group of 4. Pools where nice and clean, bedrooms were good for 4 star. Food was bland but we brought our own spices. Grounds we nice. Gym was too small and 2 machines were not working and should be removed. Snack bar workers were always very rude to everyone no just us. Pool bar workers were very efficient and cordial. Lounge bar excellent drinks and service but expected to be tiped. Coffee area was excellent. Did not wait long to register. 6:30 sungwing flight that we paid extra to [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing Resort and Excellent Service
Although it's an older hotel, it's very clean, the rooms are nicely renovated, the food is amazing, the service is great, the beach is clean, it's literally steps to Atlantis. Most of the guests are with couples or older.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Wonderful Vacation!
Everything was so enjoyable; the pools, beach, the incredible Cuban people, clean, private rooms, and plenty of food options to choose from. We also enjoyed two well-valued excursions while we were there.
Riu Palace Jamaica: Terrific Resort, Friendly Staff, Great Food
This resort is very clean, rooms very nice. It is an adults only so quieter than the Rui next door (we stayed there last April). We travel a lot and have to say this resort is terrific. The staff are eager to help, super friendly, food is tasty and plentiful. No issues booking a la carts. Other reviews mentioned the construction noise next door which is done now/addition to the Rui Palace is now open. There was construction when we were there a few weeks ago but not worth mentioning. Have to say [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Procedures to work out
The grounds are lovely and 5 star worthy but the procedures need work. Key cards are ridiculous. Thought first day it was the lock hardware and had maintenance take it apart. Every 2nd day we had to re magnetize the cards as did the 3 other units that traveled with us. I like to play and ended up walking to iberostar next door for volleyball 3 days. The food was good for Cuba but then I noted the chicken skewers had 1st half well cooked and last cubes raw which explains some sickly comments. We [... read more]
Riu Guanacaste: Amazing weather

Riu Ocho Rios: Nice resort!
Second time to this hotel, first time was fabulous. Second time checked in to adults only section only to find out when I arrived that they don't have adults only anymore. The food is great, entertainment is a little of the same thing every night. Rooms were clean.
Riu Guanacaste: LOVED IT!
Everything about this resort was fantastic! The people are so friendly, the grounds are immaculate, the food is delicious with a very large variety, the pool area is awesome, the beach is terrific and our ocean view room was spectacular!
Riu Bambu: Very disappointing food!!!!!
The resort itself is very nice with great grounds and well maintained spaces. The beach is great; lots of white sand and kilometres to walk and walk. The amenities are descent and the entertainment was very "entertaining". The food was very, very disappointing. I have had much better food in Cuba....and you know that is saying something. There was repetition of food items, the food was overcooked, had no spices. The wine is the absolute worst I have ever tasted. Years in the past we stayed at Ri [... read more]
Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort as are all of the Rui
Starting off with the weather ...wow...exactly what we wanted...very hot but not muggy...the rooms were very well maintained, up to date, the fridge regularly stocked, what more can you ask for. The staff was very helpful and there were very few language problems...the meals were great, wide variety and if you are a picky eater like me there was always enough to satisfy your taste buds. We only went to the steak house which was very good but you had to line up the morning of that specific day to [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: A disapointment
There was never hot water in the morning to have a shower. The room keys were always faulty and had to be replaced. They were always short of towels and one day I felt I had gotten a used one, as it seemed dirty. They never had small change for tipping, so had to constantly try to get change from staff. The beach was beautiful and the pool area was very nice. The food was O.K. I went to have a stress free holiday but found it very stressful. I would not recommend it. Darlene
Grand Memories Varadero: Resort Was Better than Expected!
The grounds, pools, rooms, and restaurants were all what I had hoped for, remembering that it is Cuba and their resources are limited! Our weather was not great so we didn't spend much time on the beach, but it looked good!
Riu Bambu: Good Value Resort
This was a good value resort for what we paid. Resort was clean. We had a newly renovated deluxe king room that was beautiful. Our room was stocked with 3litre bottles of water, beer, and pop that was refilled every 2 days. In room liquor dispenser as well. The beach was nice and seating at the pool and beach was plentiful, which is the first tIme I have seen that at an all inclusive. No need to reserve seats at the crack of dawn because there were always lots available. The only thing I didn' [... read more]
Riu Cancun: Excellent resort!
This was our first trip to Mexico and we were thrilled with the resort. Everything met/exceeded expectations. Loved the authentic Mexican feel of the resort and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Had lots of fun!
The grounds are beautiful....the staff work so hard! The bartenders are great. The beach is huge.....be careful in the water, it has rocky parts and you can cut your feet. We spent time at the Bachata and Merenge...Diaz a bartender at the Merenge is wonderful and Rayo Back in animation is so good at his job! The beds are hard! Rooms were cleaned well and had towels everyday! the cooks work so hard...omelettes, waffles, pancakes,French toast...so yummy for breakfast. You may have to wait for new c [... read more]
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Beautiful resort
The reception area is open, breezy and very welcoming. The hallways to the rooms have open windows so you can enjoy the views on the walk to your room - yes, there are elevators between floors. The rooms themselves are wonderful with comfortable beds, a/c and ceiling fans. The cleaning staff keep everything very clean. I have only one small complaint about the bathroom -- the shaving mirror is set for a 6 foot tall male. I'm a 5 foot female with bad eyesight and found it very difficult putting o [... read more]
Riu Palace Costa Rica: We found paradise!
RIU Palace is a beautiful resort. "Five Star" in everyway the way! Fantastic food, great service and spotless clean. Truly one of the most beautiful places we have been in our travels. Weather was fantastic and people were friendly. Smiles everywhere we went. Special recognition to NICOLE our sweet server at the pool. Always a smile and fantastic service!
