Paradise Playa Dorada: Great Value!

This hotel is a gem, the food was great (better in the buffets than a la cartes) and the staff was nice. The rooms are basic but still clean, the pools were always clean and the beach was clean. We thought it would be weird to have more grass than sand but I actually preferred it as it was less messy afterward. Our air conditioner broke during the day once and after calling the front desk it was fixed within 3 hours. I would definitely return for the price. The location is absolutely beautiful! [... read more] The travel time between the hotel and airport wasn't that bad at all, it flew by quickly and was well worth it. We enjoyed being able to walk around the grounds and off the property without too much trouble. We walked to the Canadian Bar for free wifi and poutine and towards the other end where the blow hole was. I only have 2 complaints: no music by the pools during the day (we brought our own wireless speakers) and that it was super busy at the buffets for a few days, almost impossible to get a seat and service. Also, the Villa is only worth it if you have kids - otherwise it's just a lot of extra space. My friends stayed in a regular room and that was pretty spacious for two people.

Although the resort and beach were nice, their were a lot of stairs and hills!!! The employee's spoke english well and seemed to ready to help us with whatever question or problem we had!!! But the building we stayed in was next to local traffic & all we heard all night long was loud music, yelling & honking horns.. Their were cockroaches in our room, no dresser & 2 double beds!!!The air conditioner leaked through the ceiling!!!! VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort

The resort is little old but well maintained, it is compact and the food is good, we traveled in the low season so it was not busy, easy to get a spot on the pool and the beach. The entertainment team is amazing, they try their best to keep families busy. It is walking distance to the casino and the local mall. We will go back and always book with Debbie from Trip central.

Riu Merengue: Amazing Vacation!!

1 week, with the plan of relaxing and drinking. Success! The staff are very friendly, and I loved the swim up bar. Access to sister resorts beside Merengue was great! Not the best beach, but what I expected. Loved having access to free wifi 90min/day in the lobby to check in with friends and family. Great resort to meet other guest and make new friends :)

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Stay!!!

This was my Family's first trip to an all inclusive and we could not have been happier with the resort. The rooms were very clean and we enjoyed the food. We didnt spend much time in the room and the room luxuries are not very important to us as long as they have all we need and are clean. The rooms had great storage, a safe, TV, beverages, lots of sleep space and were very clean. The buffet food was great and different every night. The strange part was the Buffet had a mexican theme the next night and the same types of food at the buffet were really good. The brazilian was amazing. I really enjoyed the layout of the resort. Everything was a very short walk away and you could transfer quickly between the pool and the beach all day. The pool was amazing. Great for kids. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. From the buffet and bartenders through to the Star Performers. They truly made you fell like a part of the family. The Star staff kept the entertainment going all day and all night all over the resort. They made sure the kids and adults were always engaged. I have nothing but positives to say about this hotel!!!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Terrific Vacation

The grounds are beautifully manicured ...... The larger pool is great for activities, families, and the swim up bar is a friendly spot to meet people .... The smaller pool is more private, thus a great place to park oneself and catch up on reading your favourite books ....The staff are very friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for you ....The buffet meals offer a tremendous variety and are always presented with local colour and freshness.... The rooms are always very clean and the complimentary drinks in the fridge are a nice treat ..... beautiful grounds, clean, great service, very good food, the funniest shows!, shallow water in the ocean (great for kids and weak swimmers), lots of shady spaces, no lineups, very friendly and customer oriented

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Fantastic resort!!

I would go back here in an instant! The staff was welcoming, the rooms were clean and always had a personal touch to make us feel special. The food was amazing!! The pools, grounds and beach were always clean. We took several excursions to see the countryside, landmarks and other beaches. I would sure recommend these sight seeing adventures!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: great value convienient location

beach is great rooms were good value we stayed in building 12 close to the beach and pool ,alacartes were good if not the buffet always had something good on the menue all the staff were allways there to help out and very freindly would definetly return to this property.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: nice resort

very clean grounds and the area, pools are nice too,very good food. Rooms could use a little updates.Night entertainment very nice , but not too much to do for the kids.Service was ok , but the guy who suppost to help us out treat us very cold and even not very nice sometimes.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Average Resort!

The rooms were large enough, fairly clean. Beach was ok, have to get out early if you want a spot. Only one pool and hard to find seats. The restaurants and food was ok. My husband and I got a sick with flu bug.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing value

Great entertainment (Joselito) and bar staff (Kennedy & Tony)! Beach is good, rooms are ok but a little dated, food is pretty good and nightly entertainment. There is a dance bar next door if you're looking for somewhere close. Look forward to visiting again! Excellent value!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: fantastic resort to visit.

from the moment till the end the facilities were excellent. Staff were warm and friendly and very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Food was amazing and great a la carte restaurants. The facilities were very clean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and a great terrace overlooking the beach. I must admit that the place was not over crowed and not at all noisy. Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Fabulous resort

This is our second time at this resort in Puerto Plata! The food was wonderful - lots of selection. Pool and grounds were very well maintained. The staff was extraordinary (trust me - I'm a tough critic). Upgraded our room to ocean view - well worth it. The only complaint we had was with the air conditioning in our room. Although the staff was attentive to the problem, it would appear that the air conditioning in general in the resort should be serviced or changed. 

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing Employees!!!!

Excellent value for the price....and the best service you could get anywhere. Rooms are average but very clean. The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful, the food is great and the "strip" provides a great place to party without disturbing those that want to rest. The beach is great for walking and the service is the best. The staff are amazing, even taking us to their homes to show us the Dominican life.

The resort was clean, some of the rooms need to be maintained, great food ,entertainment can improve. The beach was very nice so was the pool area. The employees are very friendly and nice. Overall I would recommend this resort.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Excellent resort

On arrival with two other couples we were greeted at reception with a great welcome, a cold drink and quick smooth registration. We were then escorted to our room in building #7 across from the Spa and shown how everything worked by the Porter who had also brought our luggage. We were in our room and settled within 30 minutes. We found our location on the resort very central to everything and an easy walk to anywhere Beach,Dining,Towels,Giftshop,Bars Pools, etc. The Grounds were well kept ,easy  [... read more]walking. The pools were always clean as was the beach ( which is second to none ) in the Puerto Plata area.The food was great and we came away quite satisfied with this resort and our decision to stay there. We would not hesitate in booking it again in the future.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Fun in the Sun!

Iberostar resorts never disappoint in that they are very clean, well appointed and offer the best of everything possible. The on-room balconies, coffeemakers and daily stocked mini-bar fridges are a nice touch. Overall the staff went above and beyond to fill any need that we may have had. This resort is also close to the city so that you can easily explore Dominican culture. A great get away for families and couples.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Except no wi-fi resort was okay.

If your on a budget this resort was okay. The rooms are clean food good. Went on a mother daughter vacation and needed to stick within a budget. The staff were friendly and helpful. Hard to get towels for the beach. And had to go to edge of resort to get free wi-fi from other resorts.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: incredible resort

Travelled with wife and Adult son and his girlfriend. Can't say enough positive things about this resort. The staff were amazing. Extremely happy and friendly (especially Eddie in the buffet and Domenedes in the A la cartes, or tequila boom boom as we called him). Would recommend to anyone and are already planning our next trip in the spring. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this resort.
