Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Value for the Money

Everything was excellent for a 4 star hotel, the rooms, the pool, the grounds, the food, but especially the staff. Food service, bar and maintenance staff all excellent. Hope to return again in the future.

Paradisus Grand Cana: Beautiful resort

The grounds pools and food was amazing. I did not like that we had to shuttle to the ocean. The service was also awesome. Friendly staff . Good times had by all. Great place to visit family had an excellent time .

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort

We love the pool and spend most days lounging there. The beach is beautiful. Nice long stretch to walk. Food is great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. This was our 4th visit and already looking forward to going back!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Welcome to poopslosion

The room was fine but outside of it smelled of raw sèwage. The beach was good. The food was okay but repetitive. My fiancée got pretty bad food poisoning. Overall not a great resort but for the money it was okay

Playabachata Hotel: Just say NO

Lots of sanitizer stations, most were empty…food at the buffet ok, but no plates or cups or silverware…no electricity for an entire day…hot water in the mornings only…2 days of no towels in room, most days no towels for pool and beach…a La carte food was horrible, buffet food was better…rooms are very damp and musty…staff was very friendly…average beach, very scenic, yet poor for swimming due to rough bottom…red flag up at all times…sorry to say, not a great place to stay, th [... read more]ere are way better resorts in the D.R.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Solid Resort

Quite pleased with this resort still. We have been to this complex 4 times and been to ambar twice. Updated rooms are well done. Food is decent and most staff are very good. The app is atrocious before you get there but is useful to track entertainment and alacarte bookings.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing place

Everything was great. Our room was beautiful and clean. The pools were great the drinks were delicious and the food was delicious. I don’t know where the bad reviews come from. Probably the few people we saw who are demanding and expect the world

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro Feb.8-12 Solo traveler

Pros- Beautiful grounds, common areas well kept. Shuttles to and from beach to room to lobby A la cartes were pretty good-Nikkei and Maiko. Buffet was average, fair selection. Service average. Spotty drink service at lobby bar and beach. Cons- Check in took a long time despite being only second in line. Had to change room(75101) due infestation of mosquitoes, lack of clean up of dead mosquitoes after fumigation. Coverlet on bed had black and brown stains, room poorly maintained - chain [... read more] lock on door broken(to be fair, was repaired as soon as I reported that), floors poorly patched, television did not work, large vertical crack in door panel where you could literally see outdoors. Requested all be fixed, and I would stay in the room. Only door chain fixed. Once I discovered the shower leaked exuberantly, flooding the bathroom- that was the last straw. Took 2 days to change rooms. Room 31101 was better, still wouldn't class the room as more than 3+ stars. Beach- Lots of lounges, but very close together as it seems half the beach is gone since I was last there 3 years ago. Usual towel game with the lounges. Relentless vendors on the beach-every few minutes! Took to pretending I was asleep. Pool-difficult to get a lounger during the day Transport to airport-25 minutes late. Made it to my flight with 0 minutes to spare due to long line ups for Swoop check in, security, and emigration. But online E-Ticket for Dominican Republic worked great. Tip- For me, the Grand Bahia app worked the way it was supposed to.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great week at Iberostar Costa Dorada

A fun and relaxing week at this beautiful resort. The staff were all amazing. Special Cuoto's to Kennedy, Carlos and Dulcee. This was our 5th time staying at this resort. If I could make one suggestion. Have some drink service at the pool. 4 servers taking drink orders would be an added upgrade to an already beautiful resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Not great

Definitely not what I expected can’t say I really enjoyed the stay. I’m not picky and I definitely don’t have high standards but the staff and service was no 5 star maybe a 3 star. Many things didn’t work in our room alone then the buffet is probably the worst I’ve experienced on many trips. Casa Marina Reef Resort: Keep Expectations Low

Worn bath towels, staff often forgot to bring a bath mat, leaky tub faucet, non-working hair dryer, safe that needed maintenance to open, dodgy AC that required several front desk trips & maintenance people 2x, rough bedsheets, mattress cover moves around underneath while sleeping, extra fee dodgy room wifi, plentiful but bland & tasteless food, conflicting information from staff re: how/when to reserve dinner & how many at a time may be booked, if you go on their pricey tours you have no way to [... read more] book a dinner reservation, plastic patio chairs were very worn, no chest of drawers in room to put clothes, your basic all inclusive - could consider upgrading to Select. too many rooms have 2 double beds rather than king/queen. Don't stray off site at night.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Grand Bavaro Princess February 2023

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana, on the amazing Bavaro Beach in February 2023. The hotel has been remodelled recently and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are well appointed with a luxurious feel - all with balconies! The grounds are superb and tended to daily; we love the lush greenery that is everywhere! There is an app to download to book the restaurants; we found it difficult to get a decent time; we were unable to book into a few of the restaurants. The food and service was exceptional! We normally do not go to larger resorts, but the Grand Bavaro did not disappoint - there was so much space we never felt like we were too close to other guests! Plenty of palapas on the beach ~ beach service would be nice, but the walk to the bar is not far! A lot of local vendors on the beach but none of them harrassed us; we kindly said no thank you and they moved on. The beach is quite large compared to some neighbouring resorts and very clean!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: good resort

Staff were very friendly and tried to be as helpful as they could. Most of the entertainment was good. The beach and pools were wonderfully well kept. There were some issue with some of the rooms (all water going out to one building, hot water going out and a leak in one of the rooms). There was a decent variety in the food. It is too bad the neighbouring property was sold to others as going forward people will not be able to use both properties

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Staff are lovely but resort is lacking post covid

Lovely beach area, a great pool (closes at 6pm, unfortunately), and a large buffet. Some restaurants are limited (only 2 open per evening). We booked this resort because they boasted gluten-free and vegetarian options but were disappointed that nothing at the buffet was labeled for food allergies or ingredients, and the menus at the a la carte's were incorrectly labeled. Our room was clean and comfortable.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful resort but way too large for my liking

The grounds were beautiful and the resort and rooms were kept very clean. The service was also very good. My only complaint is that the train that takes you to the lobby and beach is sometimes slow and there is a bit of a wait time. We were lucky and were able to access the Melia Caribe side as well which made it easier and closer to go to the buffet but in the future this will not be available. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Comfortable Resort

We had a junior corner suite Block 63. It was very spacious with king bed. Walk in shower with separate toilet area. Large vanity. Sitting area had a couch and two chairs with small table for eating. Mounted TV swiveled to view in the sitting area. Soaker tub was across from sitting area. We were on 3rd floor, with a huge corner balcony. Sun in the am was great for reading and having coffee. The main buffet was huge with many choices. There was a large walking path down to the pool that was about a 10 minute walk. The beach was just beyond pool. The waves were fun to swim in. There was lots of seating at both. Loved the speciality restaurants Portofino and Meat that were by the pool. Best to reserve speciality restaurants on arrival they fill quickly. The beach restaurant beside the pool was our preferred buffet restaurant. Room service was great and available 24hrs. Would be nice to have a menu for room service. When doing excursions you sometimes get back late so it was nice to have room service available. Staff were amazing even though there was a little language barrier.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Checked All the Boxes

Right from being picked up at the airport on our arrival to check in, it was a breeze! The hotel staff were very attentive, friendly and catered to our every need! The food was great, the rooms were spotless, in fact the entire hotel was VERY clean. After not going away for 6 years, it was a pleasant experience!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Reliable

This is the 4th time that I have had the pleasure of staying at Bahia Principe Esmerelda. Although the property is slightly outdated and in need of some renovations, it continues to be one of my favourites resorts in Punta Cana. The beach is beautiful, I had a working air conditioner in room, hot water in my shower, the place was clean and the entertainment has improved since pre pandemic. I did notice that at the pool bar, I was over looked x2, as the bartender served other male guests that came after me and overlooked an elderly gentleman that was waiting even longer than I . I brought this to their attention as I had to slap my hand in protest and say”hey, wait a minute, u r serving others 2 other people and were ready to serve the third before I said something. “ The older gentleman came up to me and thanked me as he placed his tip money into his pocket and said he was not going to tip. They seem to overlook women over 40 and the elderly. Sad. As far as COVID precautions, some staff work masks and some did not. There was sufficient hand sanitizers around the food pavilions/ restaurants, however not many people utilizing this anywhere else.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Vacation

This was a very lovely resort, smaller than some of the other larger ones where you need a trolley to get around. Food and service was fantastic. Eddy, Adoni, Joyn (supervisor at the Indian restaurant) and Yaritza (Taboo) were all fantastic. My husband arranged an intimate dinner for my birthday at the Culunary Experience and food was unbelievable (this is an extra charge). It would be nice to have privacy doors in the bathrooms, rather than open concept, you get used to it, but doors are pref [... read more]erred. Rooms are smaller than other resorts. The entertainment in the evening was lovely and a talented bunch. Vibes crew were fun and always including the guests, with their great sense of humor. I would recommend this resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Average 3.5

This is a nice resort. I would rate it 3.5 star .The staff was friendly. The grounds kept clean. Entertainment was average. One area that can be improved is food quality and variety. Breakfast had plenty of fried hotdogs and baloney. Unfortunately these are not what I would consider breakfast meats. Bacon was scares . Out of the 10 days we were there they served bacon on 3 of those days and no breakfast sausage on any days. Lunch buffet was the same every day ,pizza hamburgers salads and limited [... read more] lunch meats. The A la cart restaurants were average. The Italian restaurant served only pasta dishes. There was no veal or chicken parm,no lasagna , no pizza. I would not recommend the ltalian. Japanese and Mexican A la cart were good not great. If you are looking for a steak dinner this is not the resort you will find it at. The beach is kept clean. Seaweed was cleaned every morning .Overall a pleasant resort but I don't think I would go back to it. There are many better options on the island for $100 or $200 more. I was in Punta Cana on my last visit to the island which has much newer construction. Puerto Plata is a much older location and it shows.
