Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great Resort!

Resort was very clean, staff were extremely friendly, food was very good. The resorts was large enough that you could spend a day in a different spot every day and not get bored of the same thing after day 4. For those looking for long walks along a beech, this is not the resort for you. However, the pool is massive.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Overall Great week Long Vacation Destination

Absolutely no problems. Grounds were beautiful, people were very friendly to myself and children, lots of security in the evenings. All amenities were classy. Great food and clean resort. Lots of activities organized for kids and adults.

Dreams Rose Hall: Amazing resort

Amazing resort with amazing staff. The resort was laid out well and great care was taken to ensure it was always clean. The food was good and lots of variety with theme nights in the buffet as well as the a la carte restaurants. The pools were great with a lazy river and water slides! The beach was well taken care of with staff daily raking seaweed.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great resort for great family vacation

The room was very clean. Public restrooms were redone and always clean. Jerk hut is up to his reputation; great chicken. Ice cream bar was a delight 2-3 times a day. Always found something good at the buffet. Italian restaurant is the best. Ps: wake-up early if you want a palapas! Would not hesitate to go back and it is only 15minutes to the airport.

Beachcomber Club: 5-star beach, 1-star room

This is a small resort where you will be on a first name basis with all of the staff and most of the guests. The open-air dining area and bar are right on the beach! Great sunsets as the resort faces due west. Being a small resort, there is plenty of room for guests on the beach itself, unlike some other resorts in Negril. Buffet selections were very limited.. Typically one meat dish, rice, pasta, french fries & tomato/cucumber for lunch. Soup, salad, two fish/meat dishes, vegetables, rice, etc [... read more] & desert at dinner. French toast/pancakes, bacon/sausage, fruit and fresh made eggs/omelets for breakfast. Food was pretty tasty but don't go here if you are a fussy eater! Also, don't ask for wine before 7:00 pm or after 9:00 pm as they only serve it at dinner. This is a pretty quiet resort with no organized activities. It seems to attract a middle-aged crowd. Marguerittaville is right next door but we were not really disturbed by any noise, other than beach music during the day. Our first room was just terrible and dirty. We moved to a new room for the remainder of our stay. It was marginally better. I doubt that this resort has seen any upgrades since the 1970's. The light fixture in our bathroom stopped working and it took the maintenance staff two days of tinkering before they decided that it needed to be replaced. Rumour has it that the property is for sale, and I expect that whoever buys it will simply bulldoze the place and start over. Resort staff are generally friendly and try to help. We met several guests who have stayed at the Beachcomber before, so (obviously) it does appeal to some.

Sandals Inn: excellent staff make the resort outstanding.

Met so many wonderful people, the photographer Shane, bartenders Lamar, Floyd, Teejay, Christopher and staff Brenda, Konisha, Shanita, Dominique, Great Dane and Bird. Really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Jewel Paradise Cove: On the ocean but no beach!

The grounds were lovely and the view of the ocean is spectacular . Loved hearing the crash of the waves. Beach was very disappointing. I knew it would be small butt it was so shallow that you couldn't even swim in it. On certain days it was also over run by cruise ship people.Food was very good and the Jamican dishes in particular were always available at the buffet and were such a nice way to experience the culture. Sandals Inn: The little hotel Sandals forgot

My wife and I have just returned from a one week stay in the Sandals Carlyle. Before our trip she read the reviews as she always does and told me she was concerned about all the negative reviews about the resort. I refused to believe that it could possibly be a bad as she anticipated. I normally put bad reviews down to fussy travelers. When we mentioned our concerns to friends their common statement was “It’s a Sandals – how bad can it be?” Believe the poor reviews – they really are ac [... read more]curate. If you haven’t booked – don’t. The Sandals Carlyle misses the mark by a long shot. It is a three star at best. If you have stayed in a luxury resort before be prepared to be very disappointed. We booked a “penthouse suite” – expecting a penthouse experience. The room was no bigger than any standard room. There are no alcoholic drinks in the room –– only a “stocked refrigerator” (soft drinks that is) as carefully worded on the website. The photographs, although accurate, have been taken with a wide angled lens – and in reality although you do indeed get a view of the ocean unfortunately it also comes with a view of the building on the other side of the busy road, telegraph poles and a very small public beach. The website boasts “many bar locations” – with two bars – there is only one bar. The bathroom will only accommodate one person at a time - unless you like a tight squeeze!!! The food is mediocre and I am being generous here. There is no buffet option for lunch and breakfast offers a small buffet option, but for warm food you order off the menu. Dinner buffet was only available on theme nights otherwise you order off the menu. And don’t expect a large array of fruits, vegetables or seafood options – the food reminded me of something you might find at a pleasant truck stop. You order off a very limited menu and during our seven day stay, several of the basic items listed were unavailable (waffles, pancakes, English muffin). We ate one night at the Carlyle - and ordered scallops – oops our mistake the menu did say scallop (one that is!!), surrounded with peas. We are aware of another couple at the resort who were so upset that they spoke to management and got transferred on their third day to the Sandals Montego Bay. We have stayed in numerous all-inclusive resort chains in the Caribbean such as Riu, Iberostar, Bahia Principe but never at a Sandals. This was our first – and last Sandals experience. Thinking it was only the Carlyle that fell short of the “luxury experience” upon which Sandals has built its brand we decided to take advantage of the “exchange privileges” and visited the other two resorts in hopes of finding the elusive “luxury” we had read about on the website. Although the other two were more upmarket than the Carlyle, neither would have been worth the extra $2,000+ for the experience – so the upside is we only wasted $5,000 not $7,000!!! So next time my friends ask “It’s a Sandals – how bad can it be?” Our answer “…worse than you could ever imagine!!” It was certainly a unique experience and one we are sharing with our friends. We now advise everyone to give the “Sandals difference” a wide birth and visit instead the other beautiful Caribbean resorts such as the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, Jamaica or the breathtaking Luxury Bahia Principe Levantado, Dominican Republic. Check them out Sandals, you could learn a lot from the competition

Riu Negril: Great Resort

Everything at the Riu Negril was very good. Food , rooms, grounds, pools were all very good. The staff were very friendly and did everything they could to make your stay there enjoyable. The entertainment was ok, nothing spectactular. The beach with the merky water,made it difficult to see the rocks and grass. There were sea urchants on some of the rocks. One man we talked to had stepped on 2 of them. That was our only disappointment. We go for 100% beach, so would not return for that reason onl [... read more]y, everything else was very good.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Wonderful Resort

This is the second time to this resort and it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Good food, beach, music, 4 tennis courts (short walk off site), and very friendly staff. Since it is currently a small resort (an extension is under construction) it is very accessible without the crowded dining, pool, or beach areas. The resort is less than a 10 minute drive from the Montego Bay airport.

Riu Negril: Another great vacation with the Riu!

We stayed at the recently renovated Riu Club Hotel Negril. Our room was excellent! We cannot say enough about the food! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our friends room safe was locked when we first arrived. The maintenance staff showed up very quickly to rectify the situation. The beach was very clean and there were always plenty of chairs available. The swimming at the end of the beach in front of building 2, 3 and 4 had some seaweed and mucky sections. It was better at the area in front [... read more] of the pool bar. There was a bonus of having a bit of reef and marine life at our beach for snorkeling. Swimmers need to be cautious in the ocean as there are a fair amount of sea urchins in the water. We also encountered a few sting rays entering our swim area. Building 1 and 2 are the best location but in all, everything is close and within walking distance. Entertainment was very good. We especially enjoyed the steel band performance on Sunday evening. We would recommend this hotel and do plan on returning in the future!

Beaches Negril Resort and Spa: Fantastic Resort

Where do I start. March 1st to the 11th.This was our 1st time to this resort and it was truly remarkable. The staff The food The pools slides and lazy river. We cant say 1 negative thing. We were always treated like royalty by the staff.. We ate at all the restaurants. Fantastic!!! The kids really enjoyed the slides and the lazy river basketball mini golf and the beach of course. Shelly is fantastic in what she does with the program. Our room was 424 over looking the lazy river splash park and play structure. remarkable view. Room was kept very clean all the time. fridge was always full and the sculptures on the beds at night. our kids just loved them. We do travel every year mexico, cuba and Jamaica This was the best so far .My kids are 7 and 11. Well guess were we are going next year. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great vacation

Our stay was amazing, rooms clean and beautiful, service was outstanding, food was fantastic..even the buffet! Staff was amazing, friendly, happy people who made our stay perfect! Can't wait to return!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Breathtaking views

The resort was a lot bigger than expected and exceeded all expectations. There's a large variety of restaurants and things to do for leisure and fun. Friendly staff and service. Great for a getaway with friends or family. Beautiful scenery and romantic views of sunsets. Definitely worth the money. Also, anything you need they can supply. Ya mon!

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Great Trip to Royal Decameron!

Loved this hotel! Loved that it was SO close to the airport and we could leave the hotel and walk the strip and in town... felt safe the whole time. Food (NO LINE UPS) and staff wonderful! Grounds and rooms are clean, our bed was super comfy! This is a small and plain hotel but we loved that it was so laid back and it was nice not having to walk a mile to get something from the room. 2 pools that were quite small, easy to find a lounge chair on the beach or at the pool. Majority of rooms have an [... read more] ocean view. There is SO much staff, you can't turn your head without seeing someone from the resort and they work very hard. It was dumb to have to pay for a safe and they are a bit stingy with the amenities but they are trying to be an eco friendly hotel which I support and appreciate. Water pressure in the hotel wasn't great at times but we've come to expect this in the Caribbean. Wifi was pretty good. We plan on going back in a few months we liked it so much!

Deja Resort: Great location!

The staff was friendly,helpful and provided good service. Breakfast was excellent - great variety. Lounge, pool and public areas were comfortable. The location was great, close to airport and right across from private beach, and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The hotel restaurant food was very good, but a bit expensive. The room was average, in need of paint touch ups and the bathroom was a bit small - needed space for toiletries.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Good, clean, basic and safe. (March 2016)

Holiday Inn is just what you'd think it is, a no-frills, basic but well maintained resort. We were quite pleased with the accommodations but a bit disappointed that the beach is not at all conducive to swimming. (Great for sunbathing and reading, and perfect for kids but if you want to do more than wade a bit, go elsewhere.) Staff were friendly, but nothing really stands out. I would certainly recommend this resort. We love that you can drink the water straight from the tap, that the safe was included, that towels were not at all hard to find or exchange and that the food was decent and didn't cause any intestinal distress. The tour rep was less than honest when promoting the day trips, so please do your own reading before you book any excursion.

Sandals Dunn's River: Awesome little quaint resort

Very nice and clean hotel with an awesome friendly staff. The grounds were very well kept clean and always looked after. We had a great time and tried all,three a la carte restaurant and all were very nice with some delicious food. The service we received was second to none everywhere we went and to see smiling faces and be greeted in the friendliest way one can expect was awesome. We took in the Dunn's river fall excursion with the Cool Runnings Catamaran which was an excellent excursion. Started a little slow with the snorkelling but once we got to the fall and the cruise after was absolutely marvellous. Really nice small resort but never had to run to secure seats and stuff since there was always seats available. No bracelets are worn or required on the resorts which is another nice feature as well as no requirements for towel cards. The only thing I would say is that if you like to walk the beach it is a small beach compare to some other resorts but never the less big enough for the size of the resorts. If you are looking for a nice friendly and quaint resorts with adult only this is a little gem worth trying.

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Great location!

Small resort right in the middle of the beach. All the staff were friendly. The rooms were very clean. Make sure to see kelvin at the bar. By the end of the trip everyone knew your name. The continental breakfast was nothing special but itwas enough to get you to lunch
