Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Mosquito Heaven

A very nice resort, but for being an adult only I expected more night life. There was no disco or games room to be able to entertain yourselves. The food was what I expected from Cuba. The amount of mosquitoes shocked me. They used a smoker and that didn't do a thing, I travel alot and when they smoke to keep the bugs away there is always a dense cloud of smoke. The smoker that was used here looked like it was blowing little smoke rings out of it. There were so many and that made for not a relax [... read more]ing vacation because I spent more time swatting the bugs off of me or scratching the ones that did get me.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Not horrible but not the best

The atmosphere was great, the people were nice and I guess depending on the time you go will depend on what other age groups will be there. It was party central first week of May and then turned into an older crowed by may 10th. Quality of the resort compared to the last 2 resorts I went too was a 6/10 if that... the toilet in our room rarely ever flushed even though we asked for it to be fixed twice, the buffet hours don't make sense and some night it's not even open. The grill is only open f [... read more]or 3 hours at lunch and it was the best place for food so that was unfortunate. The 24 hour bar and grill is actually a 12 hour bar because it is only open after dusk. If I wasn't there with the intentions to drunk and party I would be very upset with the quality of the rooms and food. And not that it's the resorts fault but the mosquitos were so bad we came back with welts.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Book it now!!

Great hotel they have a good food selection, friendly staff and clean rooms with regular maintenance. Would definitely recommend and re book! The beaches are absolutely spectacular! Go on the excursions!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort/Excellent Value

The buffet was very good. Big selection...fruits, vegetables, fish, roasted chicken, beef, ham ,fajitas made to order one evening, grilled lobster and pasta to name just a few. Service was excellent in the dining room. The beach is beautiful. There are sand flees and they do bother me, so we moved onto the pier. The section between the pool and the beach is also very nice and I was not bothered by the sand flees. Beach was not busy. Buy a card 1.5 CUC. Took the double decker bus to Melia Cayo Coco for 5 CUC's each (return) and spent the day. Beautiful resort. We just like to relax, so a perfect place to go.

Hotel Playa Coco: Another great vacation!!

After many years of travelling to Hotel Playa Coco glad to see the renovations they are doing to renew the resort. As always staff are amazing!! George is the best! Judy, Michael, Carlos, Leonardo always welcome us like family. Food was excellent. Do the beach bbq for pulled pork sandwiches, and Japonese for the experience and a nice dinner. Beach is excellent for walking especially when the tide is out. You can walk and explore on the sandbar. Pool entertainment is fun and always something  [... read more]for everyone to enjoy. All in all nice relaxing resort, great people and we will be returning next year.

Hotel Vigia: Love Sol Cayo Guillermo

The people are incredibly lovely and upbeat. If you need anything, they will help you immediately and do whatever they can for you. The pool is nice. The drinks are yummy. The rooms are good. And the beach is beautiful.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Iberostar Playa Pilar

Traveled April 13-20, 2017. It was our first time to this resort. To Start, the bus ride to the resort was amazing. Up on arrival to the resort check in was fast and very smooth. Down fall was there was no one there greeting us. Other Cuba resorts greet you with drinks before check in. They had staff there to bring our bags to the room and they were fast at doing this. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The resort grounds were very clean. They were still planting greenery and painting.  [... read more] The pool bar staff was the best. They were always quick at getting your drinks ready. The food was amazing now complaints. We were able to book three restaurants. They had a new steakhouse which was ok, we also book the Japanese however do to a mix up (our ticket had 7:30pm reservation but they lady had wrote 6:30pm on the sheet she gave to the restaurant. So therefore they could not get us in however they moved us to another restaurant which was fine. The entertainment was kind of boring. The lobby music was very low key and the show were ok. The music was very low in the day time out by the pool. The resort is beautiful and I believe with a little bit of work and experience there resort will actually be a 5 star. They still need to work out a few issues.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Awesome beach!

The room was cleaned well. We were up graded to a king room with oceanview! I had not rquested anything but first room had 2 double bed and we asked it a king was available. Main walk way was under construction. This was dangerous in the dark. Also it was not a good job. It would be more impressive if the main walkway was redone completely. Fresh omelets at breakfast and grilled tilapia were great! I ate so much fresh mango and papayas....love that! On our last dinner they were making [... read more] bananas flambe...delicious!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Beautiful Beach with Tons of Palm Trees!

The beach connected to Pestana was absolutely breath taking. The water was clear blue and sometimes even had fish in it swimming around you! There was so much space around the beach that it was never trouble finding a good spot with shade. There were also so many palm trees around the resort and pool area that gave a lot of shade around. The resort was a little smaller so it was nice as we didn't have to walk much around the resort. The lobby area wasn't as nice, there was never anywhere to sit. It was a little smaller so if you don't like smokers, it's not the right place to hangout at night. Entertainment at night was mediocre. Overall, not a bad resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Vacation!

Memories Flamenco was a great resort. This was my fifth time in Cuba and this resort was my favourite. Beautiful beach, good variety of food at the buffet, tasty a la cartes and fantastic staff!! I would definitely return!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Relaxing and gorgeous beach

Just came back from Pestana Cayo Coco and had a relaxing enjoyable time. Beach is gorgeous, nicely maintained by their courteous beach crew. Beach bar staff was outgoing and far the friendliest staff at the resort. Food in al la carte restaurants was good, staff friendly and their little band played great music. Would have liked to had more than 3. Buffet breakfast was excellent but lunch and dinner were average and the same day to day. Need to mix it up or add theme nights? Entertainment staff  [... read more]was friendly, cheerful and always smiling. Our room was outdated but kept clean by the maids with creative towel art left on our beds each day. Need to have more activities! Went to play tennis+basketball and no one could find the balls??

Hotel Mojito: gem of a resort

As repeat guests to this resort for many years, we have seen it change hands a few times. Iberostar seemed promising, but it was a shame to see certain areas neglected. The pools needed to be cleaned, waterfalls needed repair - garbage was not being tended to - and the grass and landscaping was neglected. Keep on top of the mosquitoes!

Melia Costa Rey: great resort

the pools were very nice, some need repairs tiles are coming off, could be a hazard if cut, resort is clean however, did not have a hot shower for the time spent, spoke with management, food is great, the size of the resort was perfect, other than the few issues with hot water, tiles in the pools, we enjoyed great weather, beach beautiful, nice resort for families

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great week in paradise

We traveled with a group of people 15 of us all together..the resort is two years old .. Rooms beautiful we had bungalow 3 perfect ocean front view.. Rooms where kept nice and clean mini fridge restock daily.. Buffet was over all good .. Great pizza station pasta meat and fish .. Also for lunch they have a beach grill great fish and chicken wings.. Lobby bar made amazing drinks .. Staff was grat friendly and helpful .. Beach isn't the greates but they have playa pilar 10 min walk or take the bus [... read more] for 5 pesos all day .. Shows a must see .. Over all a good resort traveled end of april

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the best resort...

There are very few activities to do at night and the club isn't in the resort and isn't free. There are too much mosquitos at the resort that will give you many bites. The food is not very tasty, especially at the a-la-carte restaurants. The snack bar doesn't have a lot of choices. The best part of the resort is the beautiful beach they have, which also has part of a coral reef/fish there. Overall, this resort is not the best.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great vacation

Memories Flamenco had great service, beautiful grounds/gardens, amazing weather, nice pool (very clean and extremely well-maintained) and really good food given the limits that are the reality in Cuba. Great buffet with healthy options and a wonderful a la carte staff. The rooms were clean - a few minor issues (small crack in tile) but nothing serious. Yes, the beds are a little hard, but they upgraded the pillows this year and that made a difference as well. The upgrade in widening the  [... read more]beach was a wonderful surprise compared to last year. It is an absolutely beautiful beach in any case. Never a shortage of space or loungers. Some areas to improve would be in the gym (i.e. a treadmill broke, there are often no glasses to drink water from - they get used up quickly, no toilet paper in bathrooms, etc. - or bathrooms are sometimes left un-cleaned) it's a real inconvenience for customers. If equipment breaks - which can happen to any company - it's important to acknowledge it and put a sign on it to advise that it's being taken care of. One day there was significant rain and water all over the floor through a leak in the wall. Staff was there in the gym but they're often working out and it doesn't seem to be their job to clean it up. It was definitely a slip hazard for guests. The other area would be maintenance of bathrooms. In general, the cleaning staff is working quite hard to constantly clean the bathrooms throughout the resort - so that's not the problem. The problem is that in many cases the stall doors won't lock, several sinks won't work, there are no towels/or working hand dryers, the toilet paper holder may be falling off the wall (or missing altogether) - issues like that. Canadians really care about bathrooms with all the basics: cleanliness - which is already good, but also always having toilet paper, a locking door and clean and dry hands. Many of the public area bathrooms did not have these things due to broken equipment. It's enough to pull down the star rating of the hotel over time. Which is really too bad as the hotel is otherwise fabulous! If these minor things are addressed I'm sure Memories Flamenco will resume their 4.5-5 star status on trip advisor in no time! The entertainment was excellent as well. Drinks are great. Overall a great experience and we'd definitely go again (was our second trip and this time it was for two weeks).

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!

This is a great resort if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. This resort is close to the airport, the staff are very friendly, rooms are renovated and clean, food is good and the beach is amazing! I would definitely recommend this resort and will be returning in the near future.

Melia Cayo Coco: Nice Resort

Resort was okay. Really needs updating. Food was very good. Service was average, I often felt like we were bothering them. Maybe they were understaffed. Beach was spectacular, always got a shaded area. Never seen so many mosquitoes, even in the morning. People were running to their rooms to avoid them. Bring heavy duty bug spray. I got tons of bites.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful Resort!

Hotel was beautiful. Staff were excellent. Beach was stunning. Pools were very beautiful and clean. Food is ... well it's Cuba ..you aren't going for the food. The Japanese and Gourmet a la Cartesian were the best. Rooms were very nice and well kept. We were in bungalow 31 and that was central to everything. Lobby is stunning. Great cappuccino and the drinks were awesome. Wifi is available by purchasing a $2 cuc in the lobby. This card is good for one hour of use. Don't forget to take [... read more] a drink cup like a Bubba as the plastic cups are small. We heard of some people in other bungalows where they were missing items from their room. We didn't experience this, however, there are safes in the room to keep valuables. Took am excursion to Pillar Beach...well worth the money! This beach was breath taking!! Tropical fish were everywhere!! All in all the trip was worth the money we spent. We have been to Cuba a few times and likely won't be returning but we do recommend the resort to Cuba lovers!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing

Trip was April 28 - may 5 and was crowded full of people in their 20s. Solid party resort if you go at end of university/college season. Food was great. Resort was exceptional. Room was exceptional. Staff were exceptional. Swamp by the 24hr bar smells shitty they should just clear the swamp tbh. Aside from that amazing. 4.7/5
