Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Good deal for the money

Facilities are clean, well maintained. Variety of food is limited but quite tasty. Wi-Fi is practically non existent , Stone Age. Do not take Hola Sun and Cubana Airline, it is guarantied not to be on time.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Spacious Resort

Clean, very friendly & decorated lovely resort. Buffet was PACKED & long line ups but the food was delicious & never went hungry!! The beach was the best part...of course!!! Clean, crystal clear & long!!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort!

We were guests at the Rolyalton from April 1st to April 8th, 2016. This is our 2nd time there and we were amazed with the place once again! The people, maids, gardeners, butlers, waitresses and all the staff are great! The food was better this time than the last. The beach is beautiful as well as the pool. The only recommendation I would make would be that the staff NOT allow people to reserve the beds at the pool. There should be a sign that indicates "No more than 2 hours MAXIMUM". I was there [... read more] to reserve a bed at the pool (7:30am) and there were others that did the same but only came back in the afternoon. They reserve the pool bed for the afternoon and go to the beach in the morning. I noticed one bed was reserved for more than 6 hours before they returned. I know it is possible to move their stuff, but most people do not want a confrontation while on holiday. This is very disrespectful and selfish on their part. Other that that it was a perfect holiday!

Melia Las Dunas: Great Stay week March 24th-April 1st

My Fiancee and I attended Melia Las Dunas the week of March 24th to April 1st and this was our first time to Cuba. We are not hard to please people and found the resort exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and spacious, we did have a few bugs and one cockroach when we arrived but that can be expected being our room was on the ground floor. I have 0 complaints with the food, it was amazing but it was good. We never starved, had made to order omeletes every morning for breakfast, the beer garden and beach grill had great lunch options and we were satisfied with the buffet and a la cartes for dinner. My one complaint would be the nightly shows. They are something we always look forward to on vacation and here 5 nights in a row was a ballet show. Although it was nice to see once, we would prefer more interactive, tribute or comedy shows. The beach was beautiful. Beach towels were hit and miss to exchange but you don't need a new towel everyday so weren't bothered by this. Would definitely recommend this resort!

Memories Paraiso: AMAZING Beach, Clean Resort & Good Value!

My fiance and I traveled to Memories last month and had a great experience. As long as you are prepared and aware that a 4 star hotel in Cuba is not equal to a 4 star in Canada, you will enjoy yourself. The food is decent, for Cuba, and neither of us got sick or had any issues with the variety. The rooms were very clean, no bugs or surprises. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Good resort

The Resort is grate the grounds are grate, rooms are very clean food is very good the only thing that need to be improved is the beach can be widen on on each side of the beach Restaurant and cleaned better, looking forward to go 3rd time if improvement are made. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great food and beach hotel under repair

Some parts beautiful, some parts not so much undergoing renovations- Main dining areas beautiful as well as lobby and shopping area. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful! Great food and fantastic beach!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

The hotel was great but when arriving at the hotel (late around 9:30 PM) we where greeted poorly. This was the first time we saw a snack bar open 24 hrs and it add great food for a snack bar. Rooms where excellent and clean. There was great pools you can walk around the site with ease.

Memories Paraiso: Real vacation

Grounds were immaculate. Walkways wide and smoothly surfaced. Acceptable if mobility issues. Alacarts were good. Wine a little better at the alacarts . 2 Buffets with many food options. Not a lot of sea food but enough for me.Over all the food was very good for Cuban food availability. Bars and staff were great and even better if you tipped them. The nice sandy beaches and many sand barges make it an ideal family vacation spot. Rooms were clean. Water and beverage fridge stocked daily. Rooms quiet at night. Beds comfortable. Air conditioned rooms were very refreshing after long days at the many pools and long walks along the torquise waters edge. Felt safe all the time on this girls only trip I went on.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Terrific value!

Newer property...opened in late 2014. Still in very good condition. Staff are courteous and seem to have things together in terms of operating a resort. The beach is STELLAR...clean, lots of white sand, swimming is excellent. Brand-new kayaks, pedal boats, hobie-cats (staff take you out for rides on those). Water is typically calm, at least the end of March/early April when we were there. No beach beggars or vendors, either! Food was plentiful although not the variety some might expect elsewhere [... read more]...if you're a picky eater you'll probably survive on pizza/pasta/burgers. Bar was OK, not a lot of 'top shelf' booze and the beer was limited to the Cuban draft 'Cristal' but it was ice-cold and tasted fine. Coffee bar was great to go to in the morning for a Spanish coffee (wide variety of coffee). Staff not at all focused on tips, very grateful to receive them but not standing there with their hands out or lingering hoping you'll tip. Gym was smallish but newer equipment made up for that. American channels on the TVs in room. Nightly entertainment was decent. Pretty quiet place by 11 pm but you can go into 'town' to party until 2 am if you like. Rooms were good, beds might be considered a little hard I suppose. I don't think it's worth the extra money for 'ocean view' but that's a personal choice...our room faced into the resort but we spent little time looking anyway. Two big pools, both really decent. This is not a Cancun-style party place. All in all, great vacation and certainly worth the money.

Memories Paraiso: Best Beach

Large resort on one of the best beaches. No problems with the room. Pools are good and grills at both main pools on each end of the resort. Lobby bars are very nice and have excellent drinks. Food was average for Cuba and buffets were air conditioned. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. The only real problem is the travel time from the airport to the resort.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Amazing resort!

Beautiful gardens, mature resorts are the best, full of character and charm. The rooms are very clean and so is the entire resort. You can't get better beaches; best in the world! Staff is outstanding they took care of us even outside the resort when we wanted to go explore or go out to the disco. The restaurant were good we never went hungry.

friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful beach, great pools,all around awesome, good selection of food, lots of places to sit to watch entertainment, loved the night music in the courtyard and the form party was fun

The grounds are well kept. The workers work really hard to keep the place clean. Wish more people would consider how much work goes into keeping grounds and buildings clean. Seen a couple just dump garbage into a bush .The sewage smell did get pretty strong near the building exits .the air port was something else, just like any other why cant we take water through customs as we would be drinking it before we ever got near the planes , why cant they have the security at the airport doors to make  [... read more]sure you don't take them on board its stupid to through it out and turn around and spend another $ 2. on a bottle money grabbers. Then when we returned the bull we put up with at the airport was unreal. Food almost the same prepared every day needs more variety every day.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: 1st Island Visit

We returned 2 April from seven days at Hotel Cayo Santa Maria and really liked it. We've been to many other Caribbean locations but have been hesitant to do a Cayo, thinking we might feel a bit too isolated. Pretty neat surprise to see there are no resort bracelets, you can wander any resort. We walked the beach for four hours one day and had refreshing beer and snacks the whole way. Food was fine for Cuba and the two pig roasts were exceptional. Good variety of drinks and the room fridge was refilled every day. Lots of clean towels, lots of beach and pool chairs and our room was fine.

Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic Trip, Great Weather, Nice Resort!

This place is huge! You certainly get your exercise after stuffing yourself at the great Al a carts, buffets, or restaurants (several places to choose from for eats) The food was great! The room decor is a little dated but certainly clean and cool. All the amenities you need are at this resort. The only thing lacking was some daytime music and entertainment at the "adult" pool.

Memories Paraiso: Fun And Relaxing Getaway

The resort could use a little fixing up, but overall it was beautiful. All I wanted when I booked my trip was a beautiful beach to relax on, but I received much more than that. There was a great entertainment night life with shows and live music. I was a little worried about the food, yet enjoyed every meal. My favourite part of the trip was visiting the village!

The resort was clean, and had great access to many pools, food and drink areas and we never had a problem getting a nice place to sit in the shade and lounge and truly unwind during our vacation. On the instance we could not find some lounge chairs, one of staff noticed we were looking, and quickly came to our aid and brought us lounge chairs. The food was great and offered many choices and selections, from great entrées, appetizers and of course desserts. One week was not enough and I would not hesitate to visit this beautiful Caribbean gem. From start to finish, it was like hitting the easy button, from booking our trip through TripCentral.ca, Sunwing and of course the resort and the staff working there. Undoubtedly, Memories Paraiso Beach Resort delivered some of the best memories possible during our vacation!

Melia Las Dunas: Not what it used to be.

Hotel is aging, our mattress showed it's 10 years of wear and tear. Sheets provided were torn. Room cleanliness was maintained at a bare minimum. I think one should bring their own bottle of windex...toilets were not cleaned on a daily basis, towels not changed; when I asked for the sheets to be changed the pillowcases were forgotten. I cleaned the mirror in the bathroom myself and would have cleaned the whole room.
