Grand Sirenis in Cayo Santa Maria is the place to be if you want to be treated like royalty. The Hotel Director "Patchy" is an absolute Gentleman and will do anything to make sure you are enjoying your stay and that you have everything you need, The Customer Service Representative "Pedro" I can't say enough good things about this Young Man. He is Mature, respectful and an extremely hard worker. We were there for 8 days and he was there everyday straight. We enjoyed a beautiful Ocean view room with a King-size bed, a personal walk in shower and a separate water closet. A coffee maker and safe in the room. The cleaning staff are excellent the rooms were done everyday before noon and always a special designed towel at the foot of the bed. The food I have to say was better this year than 2022, we ate healthy everyday and enjoyed the food , we did bring our own condiments which did help-you won't starve but if you are a foody don't go to Cuba. It is Cuban cuisine and consider it lucky that they are able to do what they can with so little to work with. This Country is suffering so the more people that go there will most definitely help their economy. If you can, bring clothes and shoes. Personal items, tylenol, vitamins, toothpaste, shampoo things like that. They literally can't buy it there. One of the waitresses told me if she needs a new a shirt it costs her 6 weeks wages. The Government provides them with a bag of rice and a bag of beans a month and it doesn't always get to who needs it. It's heartbreaking. So go to Cuba, enjoy the most Beautiful Beach and turquoise water that I have ever seen, get pampered by the staff eat the food they provide and be KIND! Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A GREAT RESORT

Playa Caleta: Amazing resort

Playa Vista Azul: Nice resort

Fairly clean. Decent food. Friendly personnel and helpful. Very nice infinity pool to take sunset pics and sip away your drinks. There is a long walk to get to the beach, plus it has stairs which is a bit inconvenient. No one comes on the beach to ask you for drinks, even water. So you have to get your own. Also there are no washrooms within proximity, so there is a walk to the main lobby. It is an okay hotel, but nothing luxurious so I would not give it 5 stars. 4 stars is acceptable.

Club Kawama: Good g

Good service nice people nice entertainment Good location I will go back there.The hotel is very nice and clean ,the food is ok for this difficult time for everyone, but for myself the food isn't really important, the atmosphere around the weather the people

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: NEVER AGAIN

I went to this resort in 2014 and thought the quality of the stay would be the same boy was i wrong. Absolute joke for a "5 star" hotel, Food was mediocre at best. There were days in our stay that they had no milk for breakfest, no cheese, no sugar. Wait 30+ min in line to get an Omelett or any kind off eggs. There were times the bars at the beach had no ice, drinks were pathetic. Ask for a drink at any bar and get different mixed drinks, how can you mess up drinks? So much more to say but i al [... read more]ready wasted my time attending a horrible hotel, not going to spend more time on this. Save yourself from this "hotel" and for me NEVER again Cuba.

Playa Costa Verde: Acceptable

Rooms are acceptable, but not impressive. Upkeep of the resort is mediocre. Staff is very friendly, helpful. If you’re not a nightlifer, this place is probably not for you, as partying is going on till at least midnight, with a lot of noise

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Our stay

We just returned from 10 days at the sanctuary Santa Maria. The beaches and ocean were amazing. The resort was clean and staff were friendly however we paid more to stay at the Sanctuary and yet went 5 days no milk, ran out of beer, tea, and bread. We had to ask for our towels to be changed and the same with our bedding which wasn’t done. They closed down one of the cooking stations in the sanctuary so we had to have most of our meals at Grand Memories. Valentin Cayo Cruz: Great resort!

The hotel was great, clean, well taken care of and lovely staff! The fresh food at the buffets was our favourite! We did the Italian and International a la cartes and they were good, Italian probably the favourite and most popular from talking with others too. They run to you to find you a chair with shade/or not. We went out on the catamaran and that was awesome to see the resort from a different view! The hotel was at 10% capacity so it was very quiet, I did not mind that whatsoever. Cayo Cruz is quite secluded but again, not a bad thing! Overall we had a great week and would return to the Valentin again!

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Starfish was AMAZING!!!!!!!

The beach is the best I have ever seen, white powder sand as far as the eye can see. The ocean was as warm as a baby’s bath water . The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were very clean. The food was excellent, there were no shortages during our stay. The staff were kind, sweet and wanted everyone to be happy and safe all the time . As for Covid, ot is no longer an issue there, but everything is so clean that I felt very safe . I would definitely revisit the Starfish . We loved it!!!!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great Cuban Resort

This was our first time to this resort. It is very large at over 1000 rooms but is only half open (just since November 2022 post Covid). Check in was easy and we were in Building 30. The room was large , clean and basic ...refrigerator with water only. The food was VERY Good with lots of breakfast options . We had lunch at the beach (grilled chichen sandwiches ..yum or at the 24 hour snack bar. The evening meal we ate at the Frangipani buffet with so many choices...pork, chicken. fish , shrimp,  [... read more]lobster ,pasta, and so many vegetable options soups,salads, desserts. You could NEVER be hungry. So many swimming pools , and maybe one of the most gorgeous white sand beaches we have seen. NO SEAWEED at all and 3 beach bars. The only downside was no beach washrooms. The grounds are gorgeous and lots of places to walk. There was live entertainment most nights at both the lobby bar and the buffet. Also the is a TEA CORNER to get specialty coffee or a quiet drink. Great live entertainment in the Theater and fashion shows in the lobby. There are electric transport available to shuttle you around in desired. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would probably go again. We met lots of folks that had been to this resort 10 , 12 & 17 times , guess that says a lot.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Mediocre

The grounds and beach are simply beautiful. The rooms are outdated but clean and spacious. Our patio door would not lock and they didn’t do anything about it. The food was always fresh and plentiful but very repetitive. You will find fresh fish daily, chicken and pork occasionally. The a la carte restaurants serve the same food as buffet just prepared a different way. One thing that shocked me was the attitudes of some of the bartenders and serving staff. Some were quite rude and would hav [... read more]e conversations with friends and co workers and ignore guests. This resort is lacking the personal touch I believe because of its size. You have different servers and bartenders daily. The music was extremely loud at the pool and beach. The entertainment was good but had the same performers every night just different formats. I will not be returning.

Starfish Cayo Largo: Wonderful Resort with exceptional employees

Second time at this wonderful resort. Still a very special place with the greatest and proud workers I've ever met and makes me ashamed by what we as privileged Canadians take for granted, especially after our government workers strike and settlement. Greed is a word that these special workers know nothing about. Very hard workers at all levels trying their best at all times to do whatever they can to make your vacation work for you. Think of travelling on the same island as past pirates and explorers and how fortunate in this day and age doing it on an ATV. A very special thanks to Monica for arranging the rental, with Maykel and Juan Carlos helping out and taking care of all our needs. Also thank Harold, our young butler (a nice extra) for his help and knowledge making thing easy during our stay. Thanks to Reynaldo at the buffet for taking care of our needs when dining. Never can claim starvation at this resort as there was a wide variety of food at all sittings although if you want steaks you might as well stay home. Remember that for the price and benefits, this resort can even surpass 5 star resorts in other countries for what it has to offer. We go especially for the people, beaches and weather and these can't all be met by most resorts. Thanks to Roger and his crew for arranging the special dinner for return clients. Much appreciated. Also a thank you to the Lobby Bar servers for their prompt and friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment of enthusiastic dancers, band and singers and with Larisa as MC under difficult circumstances. Thanks to Larisa for leading the children's entertainment segment and how she communicates and gets the children involved. Can only imagine the dynamics involved once their theatre area is completed. At home, still enjoy watching and listening to the music and dance routines we recorded. One note on security. I lost my key and had it replaced at the lobby without difficulty. The next day upon entering our room, the key was on the desk by the TV. Olivia (our maid) had found it between the double beds in our room. She could have easily kept it and taken whatever she wanted but showed how honest these workers do their job something other resorts have a hard time dealing with. A special thanks to the hard working gardeners doing their job in the heat, etc. beautifying the landscape of the resort always greeting with a smile and an "hola" and willing to share their tips and knowledge. Also met an Italian couple at the beach and without knowing each others languages, maintained a conversation for more than half an hour with similar work experiences, etc. A big thanks to Cornelio and Rene for their help in baggage handling and Cornelio's fishing prowess. A plus on their driving skills around the resort. Lastly, a special thanks for Alfredo and the Starfish lobby crew including the lobby bar servers for their diligence and professionalism in making our stay special and memorable. Would recommend this resort to anyone willing to learn the people, culture and enjoy the ambiance of the resort. Don't be shy and use whatever means to communicate with the employees as well as with clients. You'll find a thrilling and memorable vacation as never before. Will no doubt return as this resort and its employees have become a part of our family and wish all of them the best.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach, unusual resort

If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation this is NOT the place. Loud music on the beach, loud music at the pool, loud music before dinner in the lobby, loud music in the buffet dining room. It appeared that during the day it was a competition on which location could play the loudest music. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, lots of hot water. Playa Costa Verde: Amazing Resort

I fell in love with this resort ! Very clean , huge pool , love the swim up bar and bartender Jesus !! Easy access to the beach ,lounges and a beach bar . Bring swim shoes ! They have a 24 hour snack bar ,lobby bar and buffet! Plus so much more ! Must see ! The people were the most amazing!

Selectum Family Resort Varadero: Absolutely Beutiful Resort

The staff were amazing, food was great and not lacking of anything. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned everyday.. The only downfall was the beach, but if you walked a little you can find an area where there are no rocks. I was told that this would be corrected. Also, you can catch the bus for $5 for day use, and go into town to the most amazing beach. Enjoy lunch, as well as check out the markets. Grand Memories Holguin: Fantastic Vacation

My daughter and I recently visited Grand Memories Sanctuary. When we booked our trip we were upgraded and it was amazing. The hotel was very clean, all staff were so kind and always made us smile. We never had any problems with finding something good to eat. We actually loved the Italian the best. The cheese pizza was delicious. Our lobster lunch was a great finish to an amazing holiday.

Grand Memories Holguin: visual communication

The hotel does not use visual communication. It is very difficult to find the spaces and their contents because there are no markings of where things are and in which direction. It is especially difficult to find elevators and toilets, which should be marked with visible signs and a light above. The same is true outside the hotel, swimming pools, beaches, restaurants, bars

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: Top Shelf!

This resort is totally about service. The cabins are large and well appointed. The food has variety but being Cuba it is limited, yet done to 5star stds. The draw back is no brach access directly at the resort....the walkways were ravaged in the hurricane and still bring worked on, but they have no issues getting you rides to and from the neighboring beaches so all is good. Playa Costa Verde: Good and not so Good week at Playa Costa Verde

Just returned from a good and not so good week at Playa Costa Verde. Good Staff were excellent and very friendly. Beach was gorgeous and the pool was good but needed some repairs. Our room 5422 was good, lots of hot water and good pressure. Grounds were well kept and very clean. Beer, Wine, Rum, Voldka drinks were good. Ice Cream (Chocolate) was very good. Pasta, Eggs and Fish were in good supply. Ala Carte restaurants were good . Not so good Lack of toilet paper some days. No  [... read more]Olives, Lemon's or Lime's for Martini's or mixed drinks. No milk for two days, so Black Coffee and Tea and no specialty coffee's those days either. Few or no condiments for Hot Dogs, Fries etc. No Pizza for first 5 days, then they had heated up frozen pizza. Little or no cheese. No Hamburgers. No Ketchup, Mustard, Hot sauce We went with friends, so had a good week despite the shortfalls. If you don't mind carrying around your own condiments for breakfast, lunch and dinner the food is ok. Covid has really set Cuba and especially this resort back. We will no be returning until Cuba gets things back to the way it used to be.....
