Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing Beach

We stayed for 10 nights and loved it would recommend to friends and family. Good: Beach is amazing, white sand and turquoise water that seems never ending but does tend to be a tad wavy. Used the free catamaran service provided was told on calm days can see dolphins unfortunately we didn't see any. Food was good limited options in the buffets but we always had lots to eat and the desserts are amazing. Room was clean, must have received new linens while we were there as we got bath mats and face [... read more] cloths half way through the trip. Staff was friendly and helpful and grounds were always clean. Make sure to get up early and reserve your chairs as the good spots go quickly 9before 8am on average). Towel exchange is at both pools and generally there by 9am only 1 day we didn't get to exchange. Negative: it is a long ride from the airport but you get to see a lot of country side which can be nice. The line ups in the buffet were terrible!! There needs to be more areas with food so everyone isn't waiting in one small area. Alot of people would reserve chairs by the pool but you wouldn't see them till 1pm, which is frustrating! We tend to be early birds as we want to enjoy the sunshine so the shows were late for us as they didn't start till 10pm and these have to have been the worst shows I have seen in my 5 trips to Cuba, I could be wrong but show more Cuban style dancing we want to see something different than what we can experience at home!!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great place for families

My family and I travelled mid-february with two other families. The kids all had a great time at the beach and at the pools. The parents did too. Highlights were the pig roasts, the clown shows for the kids in the evenings, and the great service we experienced from all the staff at Hotel Cayo Santa Maria.

Memories Paraiso: awesome

Very Clean Good food Over the top nice people Good Entertainment every Night Kid friendly Beautiful beach and clean Lots of chairs to be found around the pool and beach Change your pool times.....no way a pool should be closed at all at a place like that....and if you going to close it make it 10 or 11 pm. Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Excellent resort

The entertainment team in this resort is amazing! The ground, pool, room was always clean. The staff always friendly. Overall it's an excellent resort for all ages. The "a la carte" restaurant was good and the buffet was ok.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Deal for the price!

Ocean view rooms are nice. Buffet is good. If you like fish there is plenty along with custom stir fried rice. The people working at the resort are so kind and always smiling. The seafood alacarte is the best choice. The beach is definitely the highlight. It's breathtaking. The hotel seems to have limited towels for both the rooms and beach. Overall for the money it's a deal and we had a really nice time there

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: first time in Cuba

We didn't expect a lot. People told us you don't go to Cuba for the food- they are right. The beach was great- although we would have liked to have had the palm umbrella no shade to be had and for those of us who like to be on the beach but have shade- this is not good. Melia Las Dunas: Relaxing Vacation

The beach is spectacular! The water is crstal clear turquise, clean and warm. The adult pool is quiet and clean, and the family pool is bustling with lots to do for the kiddies. The grounds are well kept. Staff throughout the resort are friendly but all business at the front desk. My biggest concern and struggle was getting fresh bottled water daily and clean towels. I'm glad I brought my own bathroom towels, facecloth and beach towel. The rooms are dated but adequate. I stuck to freshly grilled fish all week and was not disappointed. There was always something going on in the main lobby in the evenings but difficult to be served for a drink due to full capacity at resort and few bartenders. Overall, a very safe resort to have a quiet beach vacation.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Too bad...

...the food spoiled it all. It has taken a week home for Cuba to finally leave us. Notwithstanding this issue, the Internet was intermittent at best, late check out charges, while waiting for the bus back to the airport, we're about $15.00 an hour. Don't get a room near the theatre if you want quiet before 11:00. One pool area was disjointed in its layout, awkward and of inferior design. Unfortunately, then, the negatives outweigh the positives, largely a pleasant and courteous staff, clean grounds, working air conditioners, hot showers, accessible restaurants.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great value - beautiful beach

Had a great stay at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. Was blown away by the beach - perfect sand and water. Would definitely go back and would recommend to a friend. The resort is a bit older, but it's well maintained and clean. Food was nothing special but there was variety and was overall just fine. Great value!

Memories Paraiso: Great Beach - Okay Resort

First, the beach was one of the best I have been to. Very clean, great swimming, no problems getting a shaded spot and no one coming to try to sell something every 5 minutes. The rooms were average; maid service could be improved; we had to ask for clean sheets and wiped the bath counter ourselves. We had booked the Diamond Club Ocean View. Worth it for the separate section on the beach (the staff did check) and check in, but for any other requests/issues we were always referred to the reception [... read more] desk. Our "ocean view" was leaning at the balcony railing to see a spot of ocean over the treeline. The food was what we were expecting for Cuba; not much of a selection in the buffet and pretty much the same thing each time. Unless you are there early in the morning for breakfast there isn't much available-go for the omelet stations. The a la carte restaurants were pretty good although service was very slow at the Mediterranean one. Overall a good stay but probably would not return.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Good resort, amazing beach

This resort had pretty, modern decor. The food was good; most of the time there was something I liked. The Mexican restaurant was delicious. The beach was amazing and definitely the highlight of the trip.

Melia Las Dunas: Nice Experience

Beach was wonderful, food was ok,grounds were kept clean,bring you own towels!!! Service was acceptable but nothing spectacular. All in all not bad value for the money. Weather for the week of Mar 23-30 was fantastic!

Memories Paraiso: Nice Resort

Very large hotel. Lots of walking to do. Beach was beautiful. Staff helpful. Rooms clean, and overall, the food was ok. Never had any issues, and enjoyed a wonderful week on a beautiful beach, in the sun!

Melia Las Dunas: Fun times

The grounds and lobby were excellent. The decor was elegant and tasteful. The lobby area was a wonderful gathering spot. The beach was phenomenal. The only compliant regarding the beach was that you had to go up to the main lobby to use washroom facility. As well there needs to be consistency with the amount of alcohol in drinks especially for the younger adults. The food was not that good but it was well presented. Overall a great vacation spot.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing staff and resort

The resort was beautiful, the ocean water clear and warm. All the staff at Perla Blanca are super friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff were especially enthusiastic and fun while trying to get everyone involved in the activities. There was always something to do! I would highly recommend this resort.

Melia Las Dunas: Average Resort

The hotel and rooms were clean. Pool and beach, absolutely beautiful. Communication/Language was a barrier,but the employees were very friendly. Restaurants and buffet were average. Service was subpar. Grounds were well maintained.

Valentin Perla Blanca: will always come back ;)

I am traveler and love to explore new places with my fiance every year. Even though we went to Santa Maria 3 years ago, we loved it and decided to come back to try this new hotel for adults only. My boyfriend kiteboards, I love sun, hot weather and Caribbean beaches so it was a great compromise. Melia Las Dunas: Unfortunate trip experience

The resort was rather nice in general, although the rooms themselves did not seem that clean and the sheets gave me a bodily rash. My large group that booked the trip together was dispersed across the resort in different buildings which made it difficult to contact them and it took a long time to get to their rooms. It was also difficult finding my room and other facilities because there was little assistance offered for help. I also found it very difficult to communicate with the workers becaus [... read more]e the majority of them spoke very little english and did not understand my requests. Also, despite me being careful to drink only bottled water and foods that would be safe, I got very ill for about four days of my trip due to some of the bacteria in the food/water and had to pay to be taken to a clinic off the resort where I also had to pay for medication and needle injections. Overall my experience was not a good one although I did try hard despite me being Ill to make the best of the trip as I had looked forward to it for so long and saved up for the trip myself.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Love the Royalton Santa Maria!

There is nothing bad to say about this resort, except getting a few bug bites. The food is great, the service is the best, rooms clean, white sand beach is clean and you can always get a shady spot! The butlers we had, Ana and Alexis, were always on hand to fulfill your every request. The grounds are well kept. This was our second time to the Royalton and it was very nice to be recognized by some of the staff, we will definitely return!

Melia Las Dunas: Lived up to expectations...which weren't high.

Service in lobby, bar and restaurants was adequate but service in rooms was lacking. Difficult to get towels and water replaced in rooms. Cleanliness was poor to fair. Friendliness of staff was inconsistent.
